MMW Children’s Online Privacy Policy
We are dedicated to protecting your privacy and handling any personal information. Our Children’s Online Privacy Policy is stated below and answers your questions regarding our privacy policies and principles with respect to
children under the age of 13. Additional privacy protections are necessary when children visit the site.
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that we inform parents or legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age; and that we obtain the
consent of parents or guardians in order for children under 13 years of age to use the Forum/Gallery feature of our site. The term "parent" when used below is intended to include legal guardians. Some of our
sites include interactive features through which personal information can be made public to the Internet and shared with users of all ages (i.e., "Public Forums"). Also read the Safety Tips on recommended internet use that is linked on our site.
Q. What types of information do we collect about the child?
A. Children under the age of 13 can surf the site and view its content without any personal information being collected. We do not collect personal information from anyone unless they register to participate on the website's Forum/Gallery. The
only information we collect from a child during our registration process is a member name, password, e-mail address, and birth date. We collect birth dates to validate the ages of our members, including children. We do not collect any other
personally identifiable information from the child during our registration process. We will require from the parent, a Parental Approval Form identified with the parent’s e-mail address, to approve the collection of this information and for the
child to participate in the website’s Forum/Gallery.
During the registration process a child under the age of 13 may:
(1) Print a Parental Approval Form and then exit the registration process. All information collected will not be saved, and registration will be from the parental approval form and effective when the form is received and approved.
Or (2) begin the approval process which includes the login profile information and the parent’s e-mail address. An e-mail is sent to the parent’s e-mail address with the following:
Advises that their child wishes to sign up for MMW Forum and the web location of the forum.
Advises parents they are receiving the e-mail because of COPPA and gives a link where they can find additional information on COPPA.
Provides a link to the MMW Policies
Provides a link to the Parental Approval Form with instructions on what is required and how and where to send it.
Lists the login profile information and gives the parents the opportunity to make any changes or modifications they wish to the profile information before approving it.
Participation in the website’s Forum/Gallery will only be possible after the Parental Approval Form is received and approved after a reasonable time from the date the information was collected.
Q. How do we use and share the personally identifiable information that we have collected about children?
A. Personal information regarding a child may be disclosed in the course of their participation in certain interactive features such as the forum. We do not share any information about a child with any other third parties unless the
disclosure is reasonably necessary: to comply with law, including, for example, comply with a court order or subpoena; to enforce our Terms of Use, or Site Rules; or to protect the safety and security of our visitors and our Web site.
Q. How do we notify and obtain consent from parents for the collection of information from their child?
A. We send an e-mail when their child registers and require the parent mail us a parental approval form. This form with the parent’s approval is required before their child can participate on the Forum/Gallery portion of the site. If the parent refuses to allow
the child's registration and entry, we delete the child’s information from our database. If we don't hear back from the parent, we assume it is not acceptable for the child to be registered. Once a parent permits a child to register, the child will be
able to enter the forum without any further notification to the parent.
Q. How can parents access, change or delete personally identifiable information about their child?
A. A parent can access, change, or delete the personal information that we have collected from his or her child by logging in to the child’s account and change the profile information. If you decide to revoke your child's registration, your
child will still be able to surf our site, but not participate the public Forums without registering and without giving us any personal information.
Q. How will we notify parents if our Children’s Privacy Policy changes?
A. We may amend our Privacy Policy at any time. We will provide notice on the site of any material changes in the way we intend to collect, use, and/or share personal information. We will also provide parents notice by e-mail of any
material changes in the way we intend to collect, use, and/or share your child’s personal information. Please note that, at all times, parents should update their personal information to provide us current e-mail addresses. We will apply material
changes in our Privacy Policy only in conformance with applicable law, including any applicable provisions of COPPA that require parental consent.
Q. Are there other Terms of Use.
A. Use of the mymostwanted.com website is governed by the "Terms of Use" posted at the bottom of the mymostwanted.com pages. The Terms of Use contain important provisions governing your child's and our rights including acceptable
conduct on the mymostwanted.com site, intellectual property rights (for example, our right to use information, content and materials submitted to us by your child) and other rights available to you, your child and us. We ask that you read the
Terms of Use and ensure that you understand them. If you do not want you and your child to be bound by these terms, do not register.
