News: Tattoo twinsies: Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus

Vanessa Hudgens found out she had more in common than expected with fellow former Disney star Miley Cyrus when the pair ran into each other at the People's Choice Awards last month. Turns out they're tattoo twinsies!
Explaining the tattoo discovery to Access Hollywood Live Vanessa Hudgens said Friday, "I got to see Miley that was really nice. We found out that we have the same tattoo!"
"It's an om [symbol]," the Journey 2: The Mysterious Island actress elaborated, showing off the design on the outer edge of the bottom of both of her pinkie fingers. Each hand has half of the design, so that when Hudgens' hands are clasped together as if in prayer the image is complete.
"She has one right here," Vanessa said of Miley Cyrus' om ink, and pointed to her left wrist.
The design, which Hudgens believes helps her "spread positive energy" and to "center" herself, was inked on to the 23-year-old's fingers in September, during a tattoo session alongside best friend Ashley Tisdale.
Nearly a year ago Vanessa Hudgens showed off her first tattoo, a butterfly on the back of her neck. She explained of the experience, "'It was very last minute, but I've actually wanted it for years. A butterfly landed on my mum's stomach a week before I was born and that's how I got my name, because Vanessa means butterfly -- it's a Latin derivative." ... Read More ...

Ashley Benson is going on spring break with Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez. Deadline reports that the 22-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress has booked a role in the flick from Harmony Korine. Emma Roberts dropped out of the film earlier this month.
Set to start filming on February 12th in Florida, Spring Breakers follows four gorgeous college-age girls rob a fast food restaurant in order to afford a spring break trip to Florida. When they¡¯re arrested, they meet up with a drug and arms dealer (James Franco) who entices them to kill his arch rival.

In the upcoming flick, when 17-year-old Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist, his new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), is unable to stop him from going and joins the quest.
Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island opens February 10th.

Zac Efron takes Taylor Schilling on a boat ride in the brand-new trailer for The Lucky One.
The Lucky One follows U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Efron) as he returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know.
Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.
The Lucky One hits theaters on April 20th, 2012.
News: Watch Miley Cyrus Pay Tribute To Bob Dylan In Her New 'You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go' Video

Miley Cyrus covered Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go," and, people, do not laugh as I am completely serious when I muster all of my renown and critical authority (and put my rock-solid reputation as a SERIOUS MUSIC WRITER on the line here) to declare that Miley's cover should absolutely be taken seriously.
Miley's cover is part of the Bob Dylan compilation Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International, a four-disc collection that honors Amnesty International's 50th anniversary and pays tribute to Bob Dylan, featuring artists like Ke$ha (who covered "Don't Think Twice It's Alright"), Adele, Pete Townshend, The Airborne Toxic Event and more. (See, we knew Miley was a role model.)
The accompanying video, which was released today and features guitarist Johnzo West, is a muted, pensive affair that focuses far more on the song's sentiment than on Miley the headline-maker. It's the polar opposite of flashy Miley affairs like "Can't Be Tamed" or "Party In The USA." (If anything proves that Miley's growing up as a woman and as an artist, covering Dylan -- and doing it quite well -- is it.)
Old-school Bob Dylan fans are probably too busy completing the entire 33⅓ series on their first-gen Kindles or contemplating organic milk to read this, so I probably only have you, Miley fans, to convince that Miley's Dylan cover is worth several listens, and I probably don't have to. Miley covers "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" with all of the mournfulness and dusty sentiment that the classic Dylan song requires, pouring her heart into the track and giving the legend his due instead of simply covering the track and moving on. (It's hard to top the Shawn Colvin version, but Miley comes dangerously close.)
It takes not only guts but cojones the size of wrecking balls to cover Bob Dylan, and Miley rose to the occasion and not only proved that she's capable of genres beyond pop but that she thrives vocally in a folk/ country environment. I'm now waiting impatiently for that country album, Milers.
