Miley Cyrus says she will 'rejoice' when Hannah Montana is over

Teen pop star Miley Cyrus is famous for her self confidence, so it's surprising to hear she hates herself. The 17-year-old actress/singer tells Parade magazine that she can't wait to get rid of the person who made her famous, Hannah Montana.
"What I am sure about is I'm going to rejoice and be happy to finally not have to be ... well, to not be somebody I'm not exactly," Cyrus says of the role she has played since she was 12.
The tween star admits she's grown out of the character, but must abide her until January 2011 when Disney's "Hannah Montana" concludes.
'A friend came by the set one day and said, "You don't look very happy." I said, "I'm feeling claustrophobic in all these frills," ' she tells the magazine. ... Read More ...

MILEY CYRUS has defended her decision to include a raunchy pole dance in her performance at last year's (09) Teen Choice Awards - insisting the sexy routine was "right for the song".
The 17 year old caused controversy when she took to the stage in a revealing outfit at the Los Angeles ceremony and danced to Party in the USA on top of an ice-cream cart, gyrating against a stripper's prop. Miley Cyrus “Scared” by Country Music

Country music was very good to Billy Ray Cyrus. His smash debut single, “Achy Breaky Heart,” made the Kentucky native a national star and paid the bills for his family for many years, before Billy Ray successfully branched out into TV and film, most recently playing a country singer in the TV series, Hannah Montana. However, Hannah Montana star and Billy Ray’s daughter, Miley Cyrus, has some pretty harsh words for the musical genre.
AOL’s The Boot reports on an interview Miley did with Parade magazine in which she says of country music, “It scares me. It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you’re wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it’s not going to sell. I think that’s why my dad finally got out of it. You have to wear those cowboy boots and be sweet as pie. It makes me nervous, the politics of it all.” ... Read More ...

Miley Cyrus: The Next Julia Roberts?

Miley Cyrus sure has a lot to live up to.
First her Hannah Montana movie director, Peter Chelsom, compared Cyrus to Judy Garland, Shirley Temple and Barbra Streisand.
And now, Julie Anne Robinson, director of The Last Song, says Ms. Miley could be the next Pretty Woman…
"She's like Julia Roberts," Robinson recently told me. "I feel Miley can do anything—action, comedy, drama. She's got it all."
Robinson says she was turned on to the Roberts comparison after Cyrus auditioned for The Last Song. "Our director of photography, John Lindley, worked with Julia years ago and when Miley came in for the screen test, he said, 'This really reminds me of when Julia Roberts walked on set,'" Robinson said. Miley Cyrus' boyfriend Liam Hemsworth enjoyed taking her to his native Australia
The former 'Neighbors' actor - who worked with Miley on drama movie 'The Last Song' - admits his parents took to her when she visited.
He said: "Yeah, they loved her. It was really cool to show Miley where I'm from and how I grew up, and it's a completely different world to where she's from. We don't have shopping centers of traffic lights or anything like that, where I live, at least."
Although born in the city of Melbourne, Liam spent the majority of his teenage years on the picturesque Phillip Island and 17-year-old Miley claims she became fond of the area because it felt like her own hometown, Nashville.

Hey Guys!!!!! So sorry I haven't written a blog in a log time. Been crazy busy with meetings for new projects coming up! First exciting news is my sister Jen had her baby 1 month ago. I an aunt!!!!! Baby Mikayla is the cutest, most beautiful baby. The whole family is so happy with the newest addition.
Second is I've joined the cast of Hellcats. I'm so excited for this project. I love the cast I'm working with and am so thrilled with the character I get to play.
I've also been doing tons of meetings with Blondie Girl Productions creating tons of ideas for reality and scripted tv shows ( none of which I'm in, just producing). It's an exciting and different process then I'm used to. I leave for Vancouver soon to shoot Hellcats but will always update you on my Twitter page. Thanks for all the support. Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Aly Michalka, and Gaelan Connell, Bandslam follows yltra-popular Charlotte (Michalka) who is determined to face-off against her ex at the country's biggest music competition. She just needs a band.
Newcomer Will (Connell) knows more about musicians than anyone. He just needs a friend. And, rebel guitar player Sa5m (Hudgens) has a wicked voice but needs someone to believe in her. Together, this unlikely trio will take on Bandslam in a way no one thought possible.
The US DVD features audio commentary with director Todd Graff and the cast plus deleted scenes, two music videos and "Bandslam: Making the Band" featurette.

Vanessa Hudgens and boyfriend Zac Efron had an amazing weekend -- celebrating good friend Brittany Snow's birthday at Agura and Crown Bar over the weekend. An onlooker dished that the duo, "were very affectionate. The whole group seemed to be laughing and having a great time."
After dining at Agura with Brittany, her boyfriend Ryan Rottman, Jessica Stroup and Dustin Milligan, the group headed over to Crown Bar.
Zac Efron said "no thanks" to drinks offered to him. Though plenty of alcohol was offered to him, Zac told pals he wasn't drinking because he had just bought a brand new Audi and never drank and drove. Good for you, Zac! More people should follow your example.

Although Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account last fall, it still seems to be a hot topic of discussion as she makes the rounds promoting her latest flick, "The Last Song." She said that one of the reasons she left the social-networking site is because she believes the Internet "wastes your life," and in a new interview, she admits that some of the things she said in her tweets angered people.
"There has been so much controversy sometimes about what I've said or done because I believe there are no mistakes, because God is the only one who can judge us," Cyrus told Parade magazine. "That's the reason I deleted my Twitter account because I said on there that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other, and I got such hate mail about my being a bad person." ... Ashley Tisdale joins CW pilot about cheerleaders

Ashley Tisdale has finally graduated from high school! The CW confirmed today that the High School Musical alum is joining the cast of Hellcats, a dramedy in the works for fall from executive producers Kevin Murphy and Tom Welling. (Yep, that Tom Welling from Smallville.) Think Bring it On — the ensemble drama focuses on the world of competitive college cheerleading.
Hellcats is one six dramas the CW is developing for its fall lineup. The others include Betwixt (a thriller based on the novel of the same name), Nikita (an update of La Femme Nikita), Nomads (young backpackers earn money overseas by working for the CIA), an untitled project from Amy Holden Jones (about Harvard Medical School students), and an untitled project that takes place in Wyoming (a sudser about a family living on a horse farm).
