miley plays a concert pianist whose sent to live with her father(her parents are divorcied) for the summer, and from what I understand she doesn't like him very much. her character has a lot of issues and gets arrested and a jail sentence, thats all we know

^^I thought it was her dad who was the retired concert pianist? Or at least 'taking a break'
Ooh jail sentence eh? What's the betting that she'll get this jail sentence just as she finds out her dad is in fact dying from some awful condition and then she has the horrible realisation that she's not going to be there to see his last days because she'll be in jail, so she has to do everything in her power to change the sentence to something like community service or something that means she can be with her dad.
Just my guess
