I need advice about a friend!!

Well, it's been four weeks since my school has started. There's this cool girl, her name is Ria, and I have her an four of my classes. I am a shy person and have a hard time talking to people. Last week in athletics, Ria and I were running and talking together. We didn't talk a lot, but I knew that we could become friends. She's friends with some popular kids who I don't like that much. Tomorrow, I'm going to start a converrsation with her, and I'm gonna try to turn it into a friendship. Should I ask her for her e-mail address, or AIM name, just to talk outside of school? Please help! I want to have a bestfriend, someone who'll be there for me, someone to laugh with, and I know it's her.:57:

i would wait untill like u hangout to ask for her aim sn bc if u only talked once or a couple times u might be rushing it. some person who wanted to be my friend did that right away and i was thinking "ok this girl is weird..." so i would wait untill u become better friends. good luck tho!

I wouldn't rush it too much. Ease into being her best friend. Don't be overobvious, and just try to have fun!

i think the person who said to ask to study together suggested a good idea. or when a project comes up and you can pick a partner ask her if she wants to do the project together. also if you guys do study with each other, i think that will be a good way to ask for AIM name. i got my best friends in 6th grade last year by doing a project together. :]
