After three years of fandom me and my brother finally got to see Miley perform live on sunday night at the 02 in London and it was incredible!:happyjump:
I was expecting Metro Station to be crap as I had heard mostly bad reviews about their set but I actually thought they were pretty enjoyable. They got the crowd warmed up nicely and it was nice seeing a band that was familiar instead of some of the awfulness you're forced to sit through at other gigs.
When the lights went off and the show started I've honestly never felt excitement like it. It was just incredible and when she smashed out of the iceberg thingy we went absolutely crazy. I loved the way Breakout started slow and kicked into the original version at the chorus. We could really feel the heat from the flames!
Fly on the Wall was a lot of fun and when she flew over the audience she was almost in touching distance! The same for when she was on the motorbike during I Love RocknRoll and it was really surreal being so close to her. I thought Simple Song was excellent and along with Hovering was quite a suprise addition to the setlist I felt. I love both of the songs but didn't think they would be performed over things like Time of Our Lives or Butterfly Fly Away.
I have to say that the little kids in the audience (and there were lots) didn't seem to be enjoying it much. That's quite understandable as it's a really mature show and there were no traces of Hannah Montana. Even when she did sing two Hannah songs they were done as Miley and had a lot more maturer arrangements and dance routines than we've ever seen from her before. I thought it was definitely a show designed to appeal to fans around her age and older and not particularly the kids who watch the show. Both me and my brother didn't mind a single bit but younger fans may walk away from the show disappointed.
Overall though it was a fantastic night and we're already saving up for the next tour!
