So, as you may or may not know, on February 24th, 2009 I was deployed to afghanistan to serve in fort Richardson. Well, I regret, and rejoice to inform you that I am back in the states, resting and healing from schrapnell wounds it my chest. I am on a pending honorable discharge from my wounds.

In lamens terms that means: I got hit with some flying metal, my chest is torn to shreds, so I'm home.

I'm a little loopy on painkillers at the moment so excuse any eradic behavior, but..... IM BACK.

It's been awhile, man. Seemed like not too long ago you mentioned you were leaving and that you didn't really know what you were doing anyway, but everything happens for a reason.

Also, thanks. One way or another, thanks.

I'll tell ya man... Seeing someone say thanks..... It's literally brought tears to my eyes. I'm bawling at the moment.

I spent 7 months in hell. Hearing bullets shoot by my ears, watching men get killed. And the entire time I was in the Infirmary for my wounds, they made me feel like it was my fault that a chunk of a car ripped through my ribcage. I can't thank you enough. I'm sitting here, at home, with 25 feet of gauze and tape around my body and I'm not as grateful to my country as I am to you.

My grandpa lied about his age to join the navy after pearl harbor and I can't thank him enough for that every day.

The whole concept .. it's just way over most everyone's head.

They just don't get it, as did I. When I enlisted I had NO IDEA what I was getting into. The united states populus just doesn't understand what the men and women in the armed forces go through.

I say we make them all sit through a 30 hour showing of Full metal Jacket.

anyway, its ****ing hell. Hell, is the only word I can find to describe it.

In that case; who the **** are you to be that brave?

I support the Full Metal Jacket idea, but they have to borrow the Alex DeLarge setup from Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange as well. Eyes pried open, etc.

My grandfather, whom I have never met, Lied and said he was 21 when he was but 16 years of age, and joined the navy. He served on the U.S.S New Jersey, upon which he gained a purple heart for bringing down 4 kamikaze pilots. I am forever indebted to him for this, and the fender in my lung is but the small price I can pay.

But if only it where that simple my friend. The united states is populated by an unthinking majority of wannabe liberal 18 year olds who have no knowledge of politics past the cuban missile crisis.

We elected a man who had absolutely no political experience to run the worlds foremost superpower in the midst of an economical crisis, after all.

The worst is how they play it off. I watched a closed-circuit feed when **** went down in Gaza, my god. I know I have no right to touch upon the viciousness of Af-****ing-ghanistan, but that's something everyone tries to downplay. It's like Nixon and Vietnam is what it is.

But enough political commentary .. welcome back.

Indeed. Enough political commentary.

Mindless celebrity gossip. Lol not really but W/E

Would also like to say thank you.
I do not know you personally, but you've made a heroic choice to defend your country.
I wish you a complete recovery.

Otherwise, I think this would be the time to log off for me. My friends have just arrived with 5 cases of beer and a few ounces of un-mentionable fun..

G'day to all.

Oh, welcome home! And thank you so much for going out there and serving our country!
I pray you get well soon. I'm so glad you weren't injured with something more serious. Or it wasn't something fatal. My friends brother died last week in Afghanistan (did you know a Paul Dumont Jr?) and I've looked into what goes on over there. I've got a new wave of respect for the people out there. I would never be able to do that.
Thank you so much.

Thank you for all the support guys. I'm fine really the schrapnel only went in like 3 inches, but it went all the way across my chest. Just a flesh wound, and a couple knicked bones. I'll be 100% in like two months.
But once again thank you for the all the suppport. It really makes it all worth while.
