I think they tried to pull a Bruce Springsteen, Tunnel of Love era type thing with the horns. That's what it sounds like to me. I bet on tour they will be adding brass lines to their old songs.

but in reality, the jb sound on this record is too much horns, then they try to be all country with that one song What I Did to your heart, then all hip hop with the Common song. I mean come on the record is all over the place. I think it is a bit much for one record. Personally the album isn't that great only like 3 songs

I love the song and I originally wanted to even buy the whole album for it (although I would have never listened to any of the other songs as I'm listening to Miley songs ONLY) but some of my friends (who don't exactly like the JBs) talked me out of this.

But I would love to buy it as a single :)

And I think having a music video for this would be awesome!

But I really wish that the hating on both sides would come to an end as I really don't get it:

Miley and the JBs are obviously friends but there are a lot of JB fans hating on Miley and Miley fans hating on the JBs - I mean if the stars get along well with each other why can't the fans do too.

Well I'm not a JB fan either but I do respect them as Miley's friends and I wish everybody could do that and of course JB fans who aren't Miley fans should do the same with Miley.

It's really sad that there are fans on both sides who don't want to listen to the song cause they insist on that the other one ruined it :(

i never rly liked the jb music, but i do like a few on their new album. i prolly like what i did to your heart because i like country, but dont charge me for the crime is just horrible. ppl should notice the jb's new style and notice who inspired them. they said the zutons inspired them a lot (and i like the zutons), but they actually sorta just copied the zutons' style lol on a few songs. its a new style for the jb... but if i wanted to listen to the zutons then id listen to their records, not the jb.

I'm sure that LVATT isn't going to do as well as ALBL. It will do well, but I'm sure that if they released a soundtrack for thier show JONAS it would sell better than thier personal album. (Which sucks, because the songs Disney writes are nothing compared to songs that were written for a reason, other than making money.)

I agree.
They may be failing in some departments, and lost some fans along the way, but they are by no means fading anytime soonish..
Anything they do (whether it be bad or good) still gets tons of publicity.

they said influences in random interviews about their new sound for their new album. i remember they said the zutons, elvis costello, neil diamond, and kings of leon.

imo, the new album definitely has a few songs zutons style. i guess i can see some costello, and sadly i havent listened to as much diamond as i like so i cant say much on that (otherwise with the amount of songs ive heard from diamond i would say no influence at all), but i dont really see kol influences. and i love kol, maybe one of my fav bands, but kol's southern rock is nothing like the jb, even if going by their more mainstream only by the night album. (btw if you wanna get into kol, their early albums are much better than their most recent, even though i do like em all)
