I responded days ago but it didn't get posted for some reason, so here it is again. I re-size the gigantic originals from miley-cyrus.com so they are smaller and faster loading, I sharpen most pics because the focus isn't perfect, I balance the color, and improve the brightness and contrast settings. I sometimes also blur the background (i.e. the distracting people behind her). Then I cropped the results into closer takes so her upper body and face appear larger on screen. The last stage is to resize the pics to 960 pixels tall, which is the size of a 19 inch monitor. I use a 17" (1024 X 768 pixels) but some day I'll upgrade and the images will then still fill the screen.
