A gay male student ran for and won the prom queen crown in a LA high school. Some people are saying this wasn't fair to the girls who were running for prom queen. There is no way this would have ever happened in my high school.

Here's the story:

What is your opinion? I think it sends kind of a negative sterotype of how gay men are feminine. Why couldn't he have run for prom king? Maybe Disney will make a movie about it. LOL

eh...I don't think it is when there is a prom king as well. Just because youare gay doesn't make you a girl.

Agreed. Totally for gay rights and all but this is pushing it and it was indeed unfair. My gay friend won Prom King this year. He should have just done that...

Yeah, I agree. It's not very fair for the girls. It doesn't make him a girl.

I would understand if he was trans, then at least he would be a girl mentaly. But this is why the gay sterotype still exists.

I'm all for gay rights, but he's not a girl. That's super unfair to them...

Definitely! That would be okay IMO because he would technically believe that he is a girl and want to be a girl. But just because someone's gay doesn't mean they actually want to be a chick lol.

He's conforming to the gay stereotype for running - I mean surely he could have backed out if he wanted to? I don't know how these things work - but the people who voted for him made it worse...plus if they think it's unfair on the other girls who ran, why didn't they all vote for one of them?
