Some of his beliefs are different then what the school believes but the school still scheduled him to speak, so obviously they wanted him there.

If the school scheduled the speech, then I say he should.

Obama should do whatever the heck he wants to and not let a few rioters get in his way.
If he listened to people with negative opinions, he never would have become president, would he?

He spoke at my school a few days ago and I was like 20 feet away from him. My friend got her doctorate and hugged him.

That's what he and his party support, and frankly I support his views as well (given I'm more of a democrat, anyways). But that's beside the point.
I do think it's kind of amazing the lengths that people will go to when it comes to the abortion issue. Although it's downright terrible and I can't stand the concept, the truth of it is people know it exists and they'll still get it done, whether in this country illegally or in a different country legally, or more babies will end up in dumpsters.
I think it would be pretty cool if my commencement speaker was the president, so they should all be counting their blessings haha even if he's speaking about something they feel strongly on.
whatever its an opinion thing..

I really want to applaud Obama and Notre Dame's president on this whole thing. I know Obama's views are in contrast with Notre Dame's views, but that does not mean that the two sides should not come together and talk about it. It's really stupid and completely inappropriate for those protestors to yell out during his speech. In my eyes that just shows how stubborn the pro-life side is, and how unwilling they are to even hear the other points of view. Keep in mind not all people who are pro-life are stubborn and unwilling to hear the other side, but I have a great idea for the people who are. Stay home and don't disrupt the President's speech, especially since he was nice enough to go to your school and discuss the issue with some class in the first place.
