freek storm- Global Warming????? so awsome though lol

so yesterday we had a serious FREAK storm where i live in New Zealand....it snowed....well hailed technically but anyhu.....its NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER in history snowed here before, and the roof to the shopping mall caved in because its not designed to handle the weight and weather conditions lol :P lots of cars were left with dents all over the roof and some balls of hail were the size of a fist...

its not even winter...its only autumn....it doesn't snow in New Zealand only in some parts of the south island, and on the tops of really tall mountains...and this is in the north island lol just fyi

do you guys think its due to global warming....i don't but hey, i could be

thats a lot of snow for somewhere where its NEVER snowed before....and all in the space of about 40mins

Tornadoes of New Zealand

New Zealand experiences, on average, about 20 damaging tornado events each year. The tornadoes are typically very narrow and have short tracks. Most are in the F0 to F2 range.
Most tornadoes in New Zealand have been reported in the North Island, particularly around the Bay of Plenty and down to Auckland. About 17 tornadoes have been reported in this small but populated region. Another concentration of tornadic activity is found on the western coast of Taranaki near New Plymouth, where 12 tornadoes struck between 1961-1975.
New Zealand's worst tornado struck the community of Frankton then moved into neighbouring Hamilton on 25 August 1948. The twister killed 3 and injured 80 others. The tornado winds lifted buildings, snapped off chimneys, unroofed houses, and uprooted trees. The air was reportedly filled with flying corrugated iron, branches of trees, timber and other debris. Rated an F2, the tornado damaged or destroyed 163 buildings and 50 businesses.

that definitely look like snow to me, not hail. Remember it recently snowed in the United state in places like houston, vegas, new orleans. We do tend to try to attribute these extremes as the norm. Look like most citizens took it in stride, and made the best of thing, no I don't think it was global warming

Where I live, it doesn't snow much, but we got it. ;) It's autumn, it'll get cold and it may (from time to time) snow. Tornadoes can happen in lots of places, but mostly due to severe thunderstorms. So, I there might have been a severe thunderstorm and it caused a tornado. And it's normal for hail to come when there's a tornado. ;)

wow,that's strange! haha, I wish it would snow here (: hmm..idk it could be due to global warming but there is freak storms all over the world at certain points so probably not.
