a health official came to my school today to talk to us about it because we have a few suspected cases.
its really no more harmful than the regular flu, they told us its actually milder. so dont be anymore worried about the swine flu than the regular seasonal flu because its basically the same thing (not completely, but same basic symptoms, etc). the only people who should really be worried are those with compromised immune systems that cant fight off viruses easily, but those people worry about any sickness, not just this one. its insane that theyre closing schools because of it, as long as anyone who has it stays home until they get better then that should be enough...lol. they dont close schools when the normal flu goes around and this isnt much different.
Janet Napolitano (the US Secretary of Homeland Security) came out a couple days ago and said it was nothing special, which shouldn't surprise anyone. Don't expect a school closure.

yup i heard that the only reason people have died from it is because they didnt go to a doctor. no one outside of Mexico has died because of it, everyone else in other countries thats had it had been fine, and it aparently doesnt last long either

It's just the regular flu, like everybody has said.
It's nothing to get angry, frustrated, scared, etc etc about.
IF you happen to have it, drink a lot of liquids so you don't dehydrate, because believe me; dehydrating is worse that the swine flu.
Scientists and doctors all around the USA are trying to find out how the swine flu got transmitted from pigs (swines) to people (humans).
Just don't freak out, because it's not that big of a deal. It only kills people who's immune systems are too weak to fight off infections, and we're probably all healthy kids and teenagers, so we'll be fine.
Just wash your hands a lot and get tested! ;)
EDIT: Why I think people shouldn't freak out over "the swine flu":
I did some research on how many people get killed or sick or hospitalized annually because of the regular flu.
That's 36,000 per year... divide it by 365 days... and that gives us a grand total of 98 people dying or getting sick or being hospitalized because of the regular flu PER DAY.
The swine flu has just killed 30 in past 3 weeks...
So really, LOOK OUT FOR THE REGULAR FLU!

well, in my country there's only been like one case of the flu, but honestly it's not something 'cool'!!!! i'd rather go to school for 10 weekends than having the flu affecting my cityyy, the city in which i live with most my friends and family. gosh, i'd be so freaked outtt... but it's alright here thank goodness!!!
anyway this flu is quite a big deal but not as big as it seems. i mean most people get over it.
