Get Ready For 'Hannah Montana The Movie'

OK, let me begin by saying that I am the last person who would have paid money to go see "Hannah Montana The Movie." I am a 32-year-old grown man with no children. I am not exactly the "target audience." I have never watched the "Hannah Montana" TV show, and I have never before been a particularly huge fan of Miley Cyrus throughout my work covering her in celebrity news.

That being said, I attended one of the earliest screenings in conjunction with my work here at AccessHollywood.com preparing for our "Meet Miley Contest" along with Disney and Yahoo's OMG!, the results of which you'll see back here beginning April 6.

That being said, this movie is fantastic!

You've got to put all of your film pretensions aside when watching it; this is not "The Reader" or "Babel" - it's a fun teen movie that sets out to be the best it can be for its genre. And it certainly achieves that.

I found myself completely taken back to teenage-hood for this film - the same way in which films like "Bring It On," "Mean Girls" and "Clueless" did for me. It's the kind of movie that you'll likely be singing along with and quoting to friends for years to come. It has heart and passion, and it's just plain a fun ride.

The movie certainly serves as a vehicle for Miley Cyrus to begin moving forward (http://www.accesshollywood.com/miley-cyrus-hoping-for-more-hannah_article_16039) from the "Hannah Montana" role, but it by no means is an end to the character.

Supporting cast members Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Margo Martindale, Melora Hardin and Vanessa Williams all come across so incredible, warm and engaging. And watch out for newcomer Lucas Till - this young man is going to set many teenage hearts aflutter when this movie comes out. And see if you can spot the cameo from former "American Idol" finalist Bucky Covington.

Let me also say, I had no obligation to write this review. If I hadn't liked the movie, I wouldn't have felt compelled to take time out of my busy workday to blog about it. And I don't want you to think of this as a review - it's just a personal expression of my excitement.

I, for one, have caught "Hannah Montana" fever (well, there's really two of us - my co-worker Susan M is going gaga for "HMTM" too!).... And I'm man enough to admit it!

Hah, that's great! My news station did a slight review apparently (my dad told me about this) and the entertainment reporter, also an older guy, said it was the best movie of the year... which I thought was strange, but cool! I don't know how I can wait til April 10th with everyone saying it's amazing.

Thats so awesome. I love the fact he said its like mean girls were you'll be quoting it for years to come.

You go Miley-Coco!

Also, they have done promotion for the soundtrack. I saw a comercial for the soundtrack ad it was like buy the new Hannah Montana the Movie Soundtrack. Featuring Miley Cyrus's new single The Climb and Hannah's hit Let's get crazy. Also Buterfly fly away and more. It showed clips from the movie like let's get crazy, butterfly fly away, and Lucas and Miley swimming in the waterfall place. Also clips from the climb video.

thats freaking amazing that all these people are loving the movie. I mean if this guy who's not even a fan of the show likes it, then just imagine how we will react to the movie.

skatergator777
03-26-2009, 11:27 PM
Oh for a second there i thought that was a question to whether or not it was replacing the Miley and Mandy video. If it was a question that would be bad. Wanna know why?

Well, a review like that is a start. Now we'll just have to wait and see what the Roger Eberts' of this world are going to say about the movie.

Cool! Now i will have a date (will go) with the movie theater even though my Television and sound system is better than my local cinema when i was forced to watch twilight.

I'll not wait for a Home Video release for this. More and More i hate waiting!

Speaking of trailers, i saw a commerical for the Hannah Movie last night at American idol.

Awesome, awesome, awesome.
It was exactly what the guy(host) from Disney Channel over here said when he watched the movie, he is a guy and he couldn't stop gushing about how amazing it is and how he cried during it.
ahhh I'm way too excited.

Not that I wasn't expecting the move to be great, but now with that review I feel like it is going to be amazing!

I also agree that there was not enough promotion. On March 24th I actually forgot that it was out!
