Following her country-toned debut (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20256512,00.html) with pal Taylor Swift (http://www.people.com/people/taylor_swift) at this year's Grammys, Miley Cyrus (http://www.people.com/people/miley_cyrus) will perform – solo this time – at the 44th Annual Country Music Awards on April 5.

Cyrus, 16, will deliver her hit "The Climb" from the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. Climbing the Billboard Hot 100 and country charts, the song will easily fit in with the sound of the evening.

Could Miley be headed for a future in country music? Only time will tell.

The teen sensation will share the stage with a star-studded line-up that includes Lady Antebellum, Reba McEntire, John Rich, Lee Ann Womack and Jamey Johnson.

The 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by McEntire, will air live on CBS from Las Vegas's MGM Grand on Sunday, April 5, at 8 p.m. ET and PT.

Honestly, I don't know how they got them to agree to that seeing as they're probably the snobbiest of the Country music awards but I don't really care, I'm just really excited that shes performing it there. So excited. lol. It will help with the movie and it will give country radio the push it needs to get the climb higher then 47 on their chart. yay.

if this was the CMT's it wouldn't be but the ACM's can be quiet snobby. the other country music award shows embrace people of other genres to a point this one really doesn't so for them to have let her perform is huge IMO. I don't think they've ever let a noncountry artist perform on their show. I'm so excited, I thought i was going to have to wait for the CMT Awards in June to see her perform this on a country music awards show.

Apparently this was all started by some Taylor fan who hated Miley and thought everyone who think Miley choose the JB's over Taylor, the only problem is that everyone who believed it started hating on Taylor for abadoning Miley. also I wouldn't mind the pop princess comment so much except that CMT and pretty much anyone whose in the music industry knows damn well knows that this point that Miley is only pop in a techinical sense. And even if you want to call her pop there are two sides of pop music the Shania/Faith Hill/Carrie Underwood Side and the Britney/Christina/Katy side. theres country pop and theres dance beat pop, Miley's firmly on the Shania/Carrie side and that is not even debateable at that point. So yeah thats what bugs me, because if your not complaining about Taylor and Carrie then you can't complain aobut Miley because her sound is similar to theres, actually is more country then theres. I know she use to love him(like 2 years ago) but i also know she doesn't anymore. lol, she was pissed off when one of the country radio stations told her that perez said the CSI Remix of You're not Sorry is awesome because its not country. lol, i guess she took that to mean that country music isn't good lol

Like I said she use to love him. When she was 16 she was asked who would be her dream prom date and she said he would be her dream prom date. ewww Taylor lol. But I've heard her asked about him lately and now that he does talk about her and her friends, she doesn't seem to really like him much anymore. I do know that Taylor is the kind of person who likes to know what people are saying about her, so maybe thats why she follows him. All i know is hes sent Taylor several tweets and every time shes ignored him and never responded(and she does respond to famous people who tweet her)
