View Full Version : Miley's 3D Movie box office records are officially safe

lol, if this is a legit then the JB's movie only made 12 million dollars and they didn't even win the weekend:o and may have not even made up all the production costs:o:
http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406
The post-Oscar weekend was an interesting one, but not for the reasons you might expect. Not only is it post-Oscar, with Slumdog Millionaire prepared to have its best weekend yet, its also the pre-Watchmen weekend, when studios crawl into their holes, protecting their films from the juggernaut coming next weekend. Two films went wide, but neither of them had more than 1,750 venues. New releases included The Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert (http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406#) Experience, and Street Fighter (http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406#): The Legend of Chiu-Li. The Jonas Brothers were forecast to beat the $31 million earned by the equally inane Miley Cyrus movie (http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406#), while Street Fighter was looking to make a few bucks before going to the Wal-Mart $2.99 bin. Were the predictions true? One was, but read on to find out more.
Our number one film of the weekend is not The Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience. Instead, first place goes to Tyler Perry's (http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406#) Madea Goes to Jail. Given what we know about the tracking for the Jonas Brothers film, the race was certainly closer than anyone expected. Madea Goes to Jail won the weekend despite dropping like a Jonas Brother after being pushed out of an airplane by Disney execs. After pulling in $41 million in its opening frame last weekend, The Tyler Perry flick plummeted, earning only $16.5 million, good for a large drop of 60%. That's the highest drop ever for the man known for his big openings followed by big second weekend plunges, beating Diary of a Mad Black Woman (50% second weekend drop), Madea's Family Reunion (58% drop), and The Family That Preys (58% drop). While the drop is horrendous, we should remember that Madea Goes to Jail out-opened Perry's former biggest movie, Madea's Family Reunion, by more than $10 million. Madea Goes to Jail now has a total of $64.9 million, and after only two weekends, is Tyler Perry's biggest film (Family Reunion finished with a domestic total of $63.3 million).
This means that The Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience finished up in second place. A film designed to steal allowances from the small hands of little girls, the Jonas Brothers film was expected to be huge - much like Best of Both Worlds, the Miley Cyrus (http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406#)/Hannah Montana Concert Movie. Shockingly, it was not, to the great dismay of Disney executives. The Jonas Brothers movie actually opened flat, earning $12.7 million, albeit from a very small venue count of 1,271. It did have a decent venue average of $9,992. I'm sure Disney will try to spin this as a success, but with people like Media By Numbers president Paul Dergarabedian calling for a $40 million opening, it's tough to wash the stink of failure off when your movie comes in at a third of the tracking estimate. This will be more bad news for the stock price at Disney, which is at lows not seen since shortly after 9/11.
What happened to the Jonas Brothers? Weren't thousands of screaming teenagers selling out theatres in dozens of cities across the country? According to Fandango they were; however, selling out the Friday 7:00 show in two dozen cities does not make a blockbuster, especially when the 9:00 show is full of only tumbleweeds and crickets (for a true blockbuster example, tune in next week for Watchmen). The Jonas-bots had a weekend multiplier of 2.59 (weekend gross divided by Friday gross, and a good determination of frontloading, amongst other things), while the Miley Cyrus multiplier came in at a very impressive 3.6. This is an audience we will never understand, and this box office performance leaves a lot of questions: Were the kids put off by the Miley movie? Are the Jonas Brothers simply second string compared to Hannah Montana (http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406#)? Is the teen/tween 3-D concert phenomenon over? While no budget data has been released, we know that the Miley Cyrus concert movie cost Disney $7 million to make last year, so a $12 to $15 million estimate is probably on target for this one. So, Disney ends up with a small success with the Jonas Brothers, as this will beat its production budget before going on to good things on DVD (http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column/index.cfm?columnID=11406#).

The records were officially safe since yesterday actually, most of the records are about small releases and of course the Superbowl. So those were always safe ;). Those numbers aren't final though, the real numbers don't come out until tomorrow. I also tend to use boxofficemojo as the most reliable source.
Only the most successful concert movie was threatened really.

Used the phrase "not too good" to be diplomatic. It's going to be interesting to hear the spin on this. Can't wait. (wiping keyboard again)

disney's bs excuse, last time I checked they were the ones who had those expectations and Miley's show hadn't even been on air for 2 years at the time, let alone three. lol, the JB's aren't up and coming anymore:

"It really isn't fair to give this movie the same expectations as Hannah Montana," says Chuck Viane, Disney's head of distribution. "She was just coming off a concert tour and had a Disney show for three years running. The Jonas Brothers are still up and coming."

Still up and coming? They had a number one album even without a TV show so that excuse isn't valid at all. Not that something like that is unexpected, they have to twist it in their favour somehow. Though it's hard to use an excuse like that after wasting a lot of money on promoting it.

Jonas Brothers proved this weekend that they are no Miley Cyrus. The teen pop stars' 3-D concert film, Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience (http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20261307,00.html), opened in twice as many theaters as last year's Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds but grossed a scant $12.7 million at the box office -- less than half of Cyrus' bow. Jonas still managed to pull in a solid average of $10,000 but grossed far less than what most prognosticators were predicting. It

at least all the media realizes it:
http://carpetbagger.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/01/jonas-brothers-underperform-badly-hollywood-still-cashes-in-at-the-box-office/
The Jonas Brothers are apparently no Miley Cyrus, at least not yet.
Opening weekend results for the candy-coated rock band’s concert movie, “The Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience,” missed industry expectations by a mile, selling a soft $12.7 million in tickets at North American theaters. Hollywood box office experts had predicted the movie’s gross would be in the $25 million range, based largely on the $31.1 million opening of last year’s “Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour” movie.
Nevertheless, Hollywood still had another bang-up weekend, overall. Ticket sales stood at $87.7 million, up 10 percent over the same weekend in 2008, according to Media by Numbers, a box office tracking firm. “Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail” was No. 1, with $16.5 million ($64.9 million overall). Rounding out the top five were “Slumdog Millionaire,” hot off its Oscar wins, with $12.2 million ($115.1 million); the thriller “Taken” with $10 million ($108 million); and the romantic comedy “He’s Just Not That Into You” with $5.9 million ($78.5 million).
Walt Disney Pictures tried to put a positive spin on its Jonas Brothers release, noting that the picture ranked as the second highest grossing concert film of all time (behind “Hannah.”) But Chuck Viane, president of domestic distribution, said the studio’s decision to open the film in extended release – the Miley Cyrus movie was packaged as a one-week-only stunt – “probably took some of the urgency away.”
The chasm between industry expectations and reality for the Jonas Brothers film underscores the difficulty in predicting demand for children’s films. Friday results are normally extrapolated to come up with a weekend estimate, but Saturday matinees can make or break (as they did in this case) the final tally. The polling services upon which studios rely are also not allowed to directly contact minors. Mr. Viane said 65 percent of “The Jonas Brothers” audience was under 17 years old.

E!Online's article is the best thing ever:
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b102192_jonas_brothers_theyre_um_no_2.html
Jonas Brothers: They're, um, No. 2
A funny thing happened on the way to Jonas Brothers world domination: a second-place finish.
Jonas Brothers: The 3D Experience grossed an estimated $12.7 million Friday-Sunday, failing to live up to the multi-media hype, and failing to unseat Tyler Perry (http://www.eonline.com/celebrities/profile/index.jsp?uuid=30ef2576-8b79-4816-893c-363a719e75ed)'s Madea Goes to Jail as the No. 1 movie at the weekend box office.
Shockingly, the band's movie not only didn't live up to initial projections, it didn't live up to downsized estimates following its underwhelming Friday debut.
"The Jonas Brothers did not live up to the hype," Box Office Mojo's Brandon Gray said today. "They were treated like the second coming of the Beatles, and they're not."
Madea Goes to Jail remained on top with $16.5 million, per estimates. Oscar-winner Slumdog Millionaire ($12.2 million) was in third, and poised to pass Jonas Brothers: The 3D Experience should the concert film again fail to meet projections.

They'll still make a profit so they'll officially call it a success. Don't know if Disney is quite pissed yet though, they still have to give it a bit of a run to make a final judgment. They will talk about it in meetings this week though.
I saw that E article earlier, they're the first ones who really mentioned that they did even worse than the Friday estimates. i still don't get that part, you would think that most people would go and see it on Saturday and Sunday.

LMAO i love that disney executive's excuse.
one, jb have technically been around longer than miley. two, hannah montana isn't a real person you dumba$$. three, the JB just had a headlining tour (that did not sell out) before this movie was out so they had the same circumstances as miley, minus the success. four, the JB SHOVED this movie down everyone's throats so they had a shtload of promotion, and from what i can remember miley didn't do that for the BOBW movie. and last but not least, this just proves that the JB don't really have that big of a fanbase, just a small amount of INSANE fans.
you can get off your high horse now, boys. karma's a btch, isn't it?
When you are air-agent it just bites you back !
They didn't sell out their tour, there wasn't people willing to sell their first born to get tickets, the reason we had the BOBW movie was because they wanted people who couldn't get a chance to see it, to see it. The JB had no such insentive.
So this just show how small there fan base really is IMO. and the JB have been out since what 2005 right & ? did some say that JB ALBL had four version to it.

THR had this to say:
The Jonas Brothers' performance at the weekend boxoffice proved not so extra-dimensional.
Disney's "Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert" rung up an estimated $12.7 million to open in second place among domestic rankings. The haul was roughly half what many had expected for the pic based on growing appeal of 3-D projection and anticipated support among preteen fans.
The soft bow allowed Tyler Perry's "Madea Goes to Jail" from Lionsgate to repeat at No. 1 despite a big 60% drop from opening grosses. The urban comedy registered $16.5 million on the session for a 10-day tally of $64.8 million representing Perry's best-ever theatrical cume.
Like Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus before them, the Jonas Brothers have grown from early exposure on the Disney Channel to broader public acclaim. Their hitting the big screen with a 3-D concert pic followed a similar move by Cyrus in February 2008.
Disney opened Cyrus' 3-D concert film, "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds," to $31.1 million in what initially was billed as a one-week-only release. "Best of Both Worlds" eventually was extended and rung up $65.3 million overall domestically.
So in a notable distinction from "Concert," the bow for "Best of Both Worlds" was enhanced by fans' belief that they had to catch the Cyrus pic over its first weekend. "Concert" is set for a multiweek run, so before the pic's release, studio execs cautioned against expecting a Joneses bow of Cyrus proportions.
"I'm as happy as can be," Disney distribution president Chuck Viane insisted Sunday. "When you're looking at almost $10,000 per auditorium, that's doing really well. And it's the N. 2 concert opening of all time."
"Best of Both Worlds" played in just 687 theaters because of limited 3-D availability at the time; "Concert" played in 1,271 venues. "Concert" audiences skewed 85% female, with 65% of patrons age 17 or under.
The #2 concert opening of all time isn't exactly a major feat, there are hardly any concerts that ever got a wide release. Not to mention that the theater average of Best of Both Worlds was more than four times higher.

another reason the movie didn't do well. Not my opinion, btw :)
Miley has a show that fans can watch every day, she has merchandise that fans can buy every day. She has something out there that keeps fans interest.
What do the guys have to keep the younger fans interested? I'm sure most younger fans are not on the computer like we older fans are. We have Team Jonas, you tube, myspace.
This is what I feel is going on with the low movie sales. Ourguys just dont have the stuff out there to keep the youngest Jonas fans interest.

E! updated their article:
Then came opening day. The movie grossed an estimated $4.8 million, tops for the day, but barely enough to hold off the week-old Madea Goes to Jail. Exhibitor Relations now figured the movie was on track for a $17 million weekend.
Then came Saturday. Instead of improving on Friday's gross, as family films like the G-rated Jonas effort almost always do, its take dropped, to an estimated $4.5 million.
Today, the film is expected to gross $3.4 million. At this point, Bock said he wouldn't be surprised if the film failed to meet that benchmark, too. And if it does—fail to meet the benchmark—the movie is in danger of falling to third place in the weekend standings behind the Oscar-boosted Slumdog Millionaire, which currently stands in third place, with $12.2 million.
If all this explains how the movie underperfomed, then the larger question remains: Why did it underperform?
A few theories:
1. It's Hannah Montana's fault. The $30 million estimate didn't come out of thin air, it was based on what Disney's Miley Cyrus (http://www.eonline.com/celebrities/profile/index.jsp?uuid=8ff16b0c-8d19-4c03-a87b-58715916d01b) 3D/IMAX concert movie did in its opening weekend, which was $31.1 million—and on half as many screens (683) as the Jonas Brothers film (1,271).
As it turned out, there might have been a couple of big overlooked differences between Cyrus and the Jonases.
"The Jonas Brothers don't have a TV show," Box Office Mojo's Brandon Gray said today.
Bock argued for the gender gap. "Those tween girls are looking up to girls, not boys, for their source of inspiration," he said.
2. It's the recession's fault. The Cyrus movie was released in February 2008, before the economic meltdown. And while the downturn hasn't yet hurt Hollywood overall—attendance is up 11 percent over this time last year—the jury's out on pricier 3D and IMAX movies. Over the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend, it was the 2D Paul Blart: Mall Cop that dominated, not the 3D My Bloody Valentine, which performed solidly, but not as big as expected.
"People aren't shilling out top dollar for these like they were a year ago," Bock said.
Gray was less willing to accept the recession theory, pointing out that Coraline, which, notably, lost some of its 3D theaters this week to the Jonas Brothers, has been steady, boasting a four-week total of $61.1 million.
3. It's the Jonas Brothers' fault. On cable, their Camp Rock was big (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b2216_camp_rocks_hsm_not_hsm2.html), but not as big as High School Musical 2, nor as hearty (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b2286_high_school_marathon.html) as the original HSM. At the box office, their concert film was big for a concert film (third-biggest opening of all-time, per Box Office Mojo stats), but not even half as big as Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus.
"The Jonas Brothers did not live up to the hype," Gray said. "They were treated like the second coming of the Beatles, and they're not."
Nobody said the road to world domination was without its bumps. Or bruises.
A quick look at some other numbers from the weekend:
• Madea Goes to Jail did its best to hand over the No. 1 spot to the Jonas Brothers. Ticket sales dropped a bigger-than-usual 60 percent from its debut.

Honestly, I dont care how sucky there movie did. Lifes going to go on and things are gonna change. this may sound selfish but its not gonna effect me so sure it will suck if something negative happens to them and it would be cool if things work out but I dont know them or who they really are so ya, I cant say i care how their careers go. It wont effect me. Im just so tired of caring.

Hey everybody,
This weekend has truly been an incredible experience for us. We were able to visit so many amazing people across the nation and experience this movie release with all of you. We are so grateful to have had this unique opportunity and will cherish this weekend forever.
Opening weekend numbers have come in, and it looks like our movie is going to come in at number two behind Medea! We also learned that this movie is the second biggest concert film opening of ALL TIME after only 1 weekend, only behind our friend Miley! It’s an absolute honor to say that we took part in both of these 3D films.
To be honest, we didn't know what to expect going into this weekend as far as numbers go. What we found out, is how lucky we are to have the best fans ever. We loved sharing this experience with you and please know how much we appreciate all that you do to support us.
So thank you!

i love how when they realize that they're failing, they come crawling back to cling onto miley. for the past 1 year or so, they've been complete douches to her because they thought they didn't need her and were better. not anymore. and they realize it. now they're trying to save themselves by clinging onto her again.

Paul Dergarabedian of Media by Numbers said he like many others overestimated “Jonas,” but called its $10,000 per screen average “very strong.”
“Hannah Montana was a one-of-a-kind thing. It was the only reference point,” Dergarabedian said.
One rival industry exeutive, who requested anonymity, said he and his colleagues were “shocked, quite frankly, by how little [revenue] it did.”
“We all thought it would be in the 20s,” the source said. “I think the Jonas Brothers are still an up-and-coming act. They’re on their way up, but they’re nowhere near where ‘Hannah Montana’ was when she had her success.”

They have spent a year trying to get out of her shaddow, and they keep getting shoved back in.

Here are some reasons, why it might have failed.
1. FFE. As much as the idea for the website was well thought out, it turned into nothing but a race to get the most impact points. Which in the end left fans angry. annoyed, and thinking about cheating. Many fans saw this as a way to just promote the movie and not a way to be family-like.
2. Promotion videos of TONIGHT && BBGood. You'd think that after the creative hit with LOVEBUG, you'd continue to see more creative wisdom. Instead we were hit by just promotional videos. Although like many of the "All In" fans, they did not care to see anything more compelling from the bros. Instead they settled for these commercials for the movie. Little did JB know, many fans were upset by this.
3. Saynow "Say promotion" Remember back in November? When we were hit by a saynow text and we called and we got an "I love you" from JB? Where did that go? Everytime we got a text for saynow, it was about going to buy tickets.
4.
Not the 2nd coming of the beatles? WELL OF COURSE NOT IDIOTS!
Not by the standards of MOVIES. I'm calling the critics idiots.
haha
First off, The B's weren't working for Disney, which allowed for many male fans to tag along with the millions of girls. Seeing how JB is working for Disney, how can you really expect young males, as well as old ones, to break from the norm and just listen to good catchy music? You can't.
5. The Premiere. Well seeing how only a small amount of people got to meet them that day, many fans were upset. Especially the ones who waited for MANY HOURS. Not that it was THEIR FAULT, but many fans went home angry.
7. Expensive tickets? I'd so say. Not everyone has a mommy and daddy to pay for their tickets. So that means a lot of fans(older) had to skip out.
8. Jonas Fans are ANNOYING. Not all of them of course, but perhaps the older more put together fans just didn't care to be in the same room as the fans they can't stand. In my theater, I wanted to sock those annoying girls. haha Ehh, perhaps perhaps.
9. Maybe the fan base is what it is. The cd sold 525,000 copies. Times 15 is like 7 million. makes sense.
10. It's a 3D movie. The movie was good for what it was, but it was FAR from amazing or incredible. I enjoyed it, but would I watch it again in theaters? Probably not.
The downfall of the movie were the movie concept, the fans(yes), and even JB themselves.
JB is one of my favorite bands, so please don't be so ignorant and attack me with useless words. "Not a true fan" hahaha sorry some of us are honest.

This article on Box Office Mojo was a bit odd, on one end it calls it a flop and on the other end it defends statements Disney made. Though it pretty much trashes them on most things they've said.
Topping the box office again, Madea dropped 60 percent and still made the Jonas Brothers look scrawny. While overall business wasn't a record breaker for the end of February or early March, coming in at a solid $111 million plus, the weekend boasted a 14 percent bump over last year.
Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail bagged an estimated $16.5 million, after a second weekend fall within the typical Tyler Perry range but a bit worse than Norbit among similar movies. In ten days, the comedy-melodrama has grossed $64.9 million, which makes it the biggest Perry movie yet, edging out Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion ($63.3 million total).
Compared to the media storm surrounding it and to its Hannah Montana predecessor, Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience fell flat in its opening, churning out an estimated $12.7 million on approximately 1,500 screens at 1,271 venues. Last February, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, in which the Jonas Brothers appeared, hit $31.1 million out of the gate at only 683 sites (and proceeded to quickly burn out). Distributor Walt Disney Pictures' exit polling indicated that 85 percent of Jonas Brothers' audience was female and 74 percent was 25 years old and younger.
As strictly a music concert movie, Jonas Brothers fared well, posting the second highest-grossing debut ever for the genre behind Hannah Montana. However, it's hard to imagine a previous concert movie receiving as much media exposure. The band was everywhere, from Barbara Walters' Oscar special to Saturday Night Live, being praised to high heaven as if they were one of the biggest things since The Beatles. Clearly, the band isn't as popular as the media or Disney would have us believe (notably absent in the commotion were references to their actual sales numbers), and the movie lacked Hannah Montana's television series foundation. The movie lived or died on the Jonas Brothers, and there was no other compelling reason to see it, not even the 3D format. 3D is an enhancement in terms of greater spectacle and higher ticket prices, but it's never the main attraction: first and foremost, that's the movie itself.
But the economic crisis obviously isn't of influence; this weekend was up from last year in box office gross.

If the number of theaters were limited, then they were practically nonexistent for the BOBW film. But yet, the BOBW earned almost three times the money. It's really fun, watching their spin doctors trying to justify the results. Twelve million is a respectable amount. If it wasn't for the overhyped promotions, it would be termed a successful opening. The JB's big mouth made it a perceptional failure.

" 'Hannah Montana' set a bar so high it's going to take forever to knock it off," said Chuck Viane, president of distribution for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. "Everything about it worked. She was coming off a great album and tour and three years on the Disney Channel. I don't think any set of circumstances will ever be quite what 'Hannah' had."

I think they were trying to prove that that movie was as big as it was not because of Miley but because of the Hannah Montana TV show. A disney excutive should not be refering to her as Hannah.

I do too. It's Miley that everyone wanted to see. It's Miley that sold out arena. Sure, she was playing Hannah too, but..good lord, she's not a real person. How can you credit success to a fictional character? That makes no sense.

Because Disney owns the character and not the girl who plays the character. So from a Disney standpoint it's understandable, they want the world to believe that they made Hannah, that they were the ones who created the empire. Not Miley who made the character her own.

I remember a lot of interviews were a fan was asked who she liked more,Hannah or Miley? The answer was always Miley. I think the Disney executives are stuck in Mickey Mouse mode when it comes to Miley. Everything is fictional.

they're living in there own fantasy world. lol.
I'm of the belief that Miley made that character and show as popular as it is. People love Miley, not Hannah. Hannah is not a real person and its disrespectful for Disney of all people to be refering to Miley as Hannah.

It's a business, they don't always say what's best for the artist, they say what's best for the company. If they were to admit that all the success is due to Miley they would be admitting that they got lucky basically and that it wasn't sound business planning (though of course they were the ones who picked her).
I think that most media people credit Miley with the success of Hannah Montana, everyone knows that. It's doubtful that Hannah would have been the success with Miley (though we'll never know for sure), I just can't imagine people like Taylor Momsen as Hannah.

Omgosh. I have to say, no, I don't think she would have been as good of a Hannah. Just my opinion. But you're right, we'll never know. (:

but doncha know? cleavage is EVIL.
Yeah, I mean, how could all the babies even live in the past? They all saw naked breasts, they must be traumatized for their lives.
Fortunately nowadays we have artificial ways to breast-feed babies and they don't need to see and suck on them anymore. No more babies with psychoses.

Ouch! This weekend Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience pulled in $12.7 million barely making the #2 movie. In comparison last year’s 3D film, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour earned $31 million during its opening weekend. The film went on to gross $65 million. If their sales follow the previous concert film, it will gross $28 million. Too bad, because this film has a lot more to offer than last year’s release. (source: Box Office Mojo)

please tell me the point of bolding that last part. are you trying to start trouble? or are you just bitter? or maybe you're trying to overshadow all the negetive reviews with one small positive sentence?
maybe all three.

It's also horribly misleading as Box Office Mojo doesn't put comments like that in their articles. It's from Tommy2.net
Not to mention that pasting that doesn't add anything seeing the numbers have been posted several times before in all those other articles ;).

none actually. I could care less how the movie did, so i'm not bitter. just saying. That site was the same site who said Miley's was better 2 days ago. At least i think it was the same site...
i'll unbold to avoid controversy i guess though =\

well i didn't go check box office mojo, i've never even heard of the site.
i figured since they put "credit: box office mojo" that the paragraph was from there, but apparently not. Guess their just crediting them for the numbers :|

Didn't the movie have less to offer? All the reviews said the behind the scenes stuff was really fake. BOBW had the fall in I Got Nerve, the initial meeting of the band to kick things off, I Miss You, etc. What more did it have to offer? Granted Miley didn't spray the audience with sticky white foam from a long hose, but still.

IMO, although i guess it doesn't matter bc i'm a fan, but their movie had more fan based behind the scenes, while Miley's had more backstage/getting ready for tour behind the scenes.
The only 'fake' behind the scences thingy was the running through the streets of NY from fans. They didn't even film it in NY, it was a backlot in CA. Other than that though the rest was like coming out of the hotel signing, buying the album in Times Square, getting up/eating breakfast, etc.

As much as I love Miley, I was hoping for the JB movie to do better and break the record. I'm more of a JB fan, but i still love Miley. Please don't take that the wrong way though :]

idk i kinda liked seeing the fan stuff. You don't always see it. Like yes we've seen them walk out of the hotel a million times, but no1 saw their reaction to the crowd that was in Times Square at midnight, which was shown in the movie.
I guess it rly just depends on the person.

your avatar is COMPLETELY inappropriate. TAKE IT DOWN. MODS!!
i think i'm more creeped out by the fact that the shirt is TISH's shirt. 40 year old boobies need to be covered up, not flaunted, mama cyrus. it looks like something justin would wear.
