It's a forty day period where some Christians give up something, and often fast and pray in preparation for Easter. :)

I do not celebrate Lent for it is typically a Catholic tradition and I am not Catholic. But I'm giving up something, forever hopefully, that I'm not sharing. lol

anglican churches do it too, but not the fasting. the giving up. i'm not catholic either.

Well, Anglican churches are really just the same thing as Catholic churches. When Henry VIII greated the Anglican church, it was basically the same traditions as the Catholic church just he could divorce Catherine.

same traditions, yeah, but they don't neccesarily have the same beliefs anymore.
