lol, yep. Who wants to subject themselves to the JB's horrible movie. lol. just go to the party. haha.
the theory that they didn't want Miley (or Taylor) stealing the boys thunder by going to the premiere is looking pretty good right now, lol

Yero34
02-25-2009, 01:00 PM
Probably. Since they're friends now. By the by, why did Demi look so much like Vanessa Hudgens? Weird. Any pics from the after party?

I think they kinda of like put up with eachother. They don't hate eachother but i don't think they're friends and i don't think they ever will be. I find it hard to believe she can get past how they behave when asked about her or how they behave towards her when the cameras are on. I don't think she can get past that to be friends with them.

i think they are starting to be friends again. it doesn't matter how things pan out with carmeras or no caremras around. honestly, i believe miley and texts all of them. i don't think everything is like how it used to be. but its starting to get there. i don't think miley will date nick again though.

I don't think so. those boys act like they don't give a crap about her when ever the cameras are around. Even if thats not true, you shouldn't be friends with people like that and i don't think she is. Demi and Selena yes but not with the JB's

so this has to do with the 3d movie. my radio station was talking about an interview with the JB that happened recently and apparently they asked joe if him and taylor were dating when they filmed together and if that's why she appeared in the movie. and joe was like "well.." and KEVIN jumped in and was like "she's big. she sells records. she's popular" and other crap. so basically, what he was saying was that they used taylor to "sell more" and that's the only reason. then joe came in and reiterated what kevin said. nothing about them actually dating or anything. it was all about sales.

Ugh, I saw that too.
It wasn't on a radio station though, an article.
Jonas Brothers interview with LA Times Blog (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedishrag/2009/02/the-dish-rag-sa.html).
Were Joe and Taylor together when shooting and why she ended up being in the movie. Joe: I think it was just.. we knew her as an artist and what a great artist she was. Kevin: She sells a lot of records.
Joe: Yeah, she sells a lot of records. And we asked her to be in the movie, and she was up for it. She was really good. The response is amazing. You guys were there yesterday. You can tell.. Kevin: We all enjoyed the time with her. So it was a mutual kind of fun time on the set of the movie.
Nasty...and come on they were totally dating when she appeared there.. Joe is pulling a Nick Jonas and Kevin is the worse of the 3.. what he has been doing in interviews is pathetic.

02-26-2009, 12:54 PM
at least Joe's being nice about Miley. Joe did an interview by himself yesterday for a radio station that Miley's going to be on next week and they were asking him about Miley and what to ask her about and then they had him record a question for Miley. He was fine then. Joe's cool, a crappy boyfriend but as a person he seems pretty cool when hes away from the other two.
he wouldnt' answer anything about Taylor, but he was very nice during the Miley stuff.
Lynnaque
02-26-2009, 12:58 PM
it's kinda weird, since everyone's always on about how nick's the brains behind it all. maybe kevin's the PR brains of douchey-ness and joe's just along for the ride. didn't joe not want to join the band at first? he wanted to be a comedian or something?
flutesinger262
02-26-2009, 01:00 PM
Nick writes most of their music, but i think they're dad and Kevin do most of the PR stuff. Joe is just kinda of their I think. I mean he does most of the singing but I think thats as far as his involvement goes. Which is wierd because Joe's the only one who has a chance at a solo career.

well.. about that... when Nick did that to Miley I said well atleast Joe and Kevin are decent, and then Joe did that to Taylor and I said that well atleast Kevin isn't like that and then Kevin wore the Team DS Shirt and keeps dodging the questions for his brothers and all so I'm not gonna comment on that.
Everytime I say one of them is decent, they go ahead and screw themselves for good.

I think Kevin is the worst one all around. He comes off as really greedy. The other two just seem misguided. Nick seems to really love music(maybe his voice will straighten out), and Joe seems like a crappy boyfriend, but not a bad guy. But Kevin seems like a wolf in sheep's clothing.
It'll be interesting to see if Miley falls for Joe's joke.

it is obvious that JB used Taylor Swift to sell more and expand their fan base. I've been a fan of Taylor Since the days when she performed at small little country clubs/lounges. Taylor has a pretty strong fan base so when she got linked to JB her fan base sort of followed the JB cus they pretty much a same age group.
jb are greedy... they come of really snobbish...they used to be down to earth when they first started.... they gone too hollywood.
they don't care about fans, they care about fans spending money on them. If they cared about fans they should give out free tickets to are fans that can't afford to buy their stuff. Instead of promoting the hell out of their movie for people to go see. We are in a recession and US economy is bad... people are losing jobs left and right.

that whole money talk can come later... haha. but yeah, what happen to the down to earth boys i used to LOVE?! where did they go? i want my old jb back. :( they also did the same thing with miley that they did to taylor.

Kevin just seems really greedy to me. Joe seems like he doesn't even want to do it, Nick seems to be under the thumb of Papa Jonas, but Kevin just seems to be in it for money. I don't know. It really looks like they did use Taylor. Which is horrible, especially if Joe told her he loved her when all they wanted was her fanbase.

02-26-2009, 03:37 PM
the thing is that the media still displays the jb as perfect boys.......you never hear anything bad about them and scrutinized every little thing they do like what they do to Miley.
That is because the jb management pays the media not to bring up controversy. My friend is in the press, and he said that the JB management gives the press on what questions they can and can't talk about. Some other celebs do that because of their image.

That is because the jb management pays the media not to bring up controversy.
That really wouldn't surprise me. They are managed by Johhny Wright. Whom I've heard is the biggest douche in the industry. Miley was portrayed as the scarlett woman in the Niley breakup, and even though Taylor was possibly cheated on, she got shat on for daring to critisize Joe "Second Coming" Jonas.

nick is controlled by management and parents... cus when they were on the Best of Both Worlds tour... Johnny Wright jumped on the bandwagon to manage them... that is when they manipulated Nick to dump Miley cus it will ruin their image.
Johnny Wright never managed JB until the Miley's popularity skyy rocketed to 20 times from the Best of Both Worlds Tour and JB got noticed.

I agree with all of you about the whole Jb thing. I've never been a fan but I can see an obvious change in their behavior. Everything they do is contrived and fake, and it's all just meant to booster their names in the industry and sell records/movie tickets. I don't know if it ever was "all about the music" for them, but it certainly is all about the money at the moment.
Yero34
02-26-2009, 03:54 PM

That makes so much sence. I really don't think he wanted to break up with her. I think he's a bit weak, because he did, but they just seem like puppets. Manipulated down to the last drop. Was he behind the Jaylor breakup as well? Maybe Joe did love Taylor. I don't know.

oh yeah, and jb has a disney show too. why do all the disney music stars have tv shows? honestly? if they just want to be famous for music, doesn't me they have to act too, dance too. be freaking triple threats. honestly. that is what disney is all about triple threats.

Disney Stars who act then make a album or want not...aka Selena Gomez.....ARE ONE HIT WONDERS and have no longevity.
THE difference with Miley is that MILEY HAS MUSIC IN HER BLOOD... and she already headlined a sold-out tour that IS one of the TOP GROSSING Tours, her tour is up there with the Rolling Stones. Also sparked the 3D concert movies.
Can other disney stars do the same besides MILEY and JB....I THINK not.

I don't think Nick was manipulated to break up with Miley none of the Miley "scandel" had happened till after they broke up, so while they were still together I see no reason why they could have seen her as a "bad image." I do think that he was manipulated to aviod her after the break up because of the "scandel" and they were worried about her being a bad image. Which of course is totally pathetic they were supposed to be Mileys friend, they should have been there for her when she needed them instead of pretending like she didn't exsist. I'm glad the JB's seem to be acknowledging Miley these days, it's about time!

I don't think Nicks management though Miley was "bad for his image" as in she was a bad person who did bad things or anything. If Nick was pressured to break up with her as a smart career move, I'm guessing it was because he was becoming a sex symbol.
LittleStar

I get the feeling that Miley and Nick broke up more because they felt they had to rather than because they wanted to. I mean Miley was already massive and working really hard and the JB's were becoming massive and were about to go on their own tour they must of known that it was going to become impossible to see each other especially as the JB's aren't allowed to be publically seen as having girlfriends as confirmed by Taylor. Maybe if the JB's weren't forced to keep the fact they have girlfriends so secret, their relationships might have more chance of actually working out. Actually makes me feel a little bit sorry for them.

Kind OT but this is from the AP's review of the 3d movie. lol Thank you AP:
Someday, we may actually get a clue as to what makes the Jonas Brothers tick. We may get a glimpse into their distinct personalities — certainly they must have them — and eventually even learn about their demons and desires.
But for now, Nick, Joe and Kevin are presented as so much glossy, superficial packaging in "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience."
Sure, some behind-the-scenes moments are wedged between the perky performances, but these moments feel self-conscious, staged; they consist mainly of the brothers marveling at how many screaming fans are gathered outside their hotel, car or wherever.

Not so glowing Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience movie review from AP Movie Critic Christy Lemire: Someday, we may actually get a clue as to what makes the Jonas Brothers tick. We may get a glimpse into the pop stars' distinct personalities, because certainly they must have them, and, eventually, even..
..learn about their demons and desires. But for now, Nick, Joe and Kevin are presented as so much glossy, superficial packaging in this 3-D concert movie. Sure, there are behind-the-scenes moments wedged between the perky performances, but they feel self-conscious, staged, and consist mainly..
..of the brothers marveling at how many screaming fans are gathered outside their hotel/car/wherever. We learn nothing about who they are or where they come from, they may not even have parents, for all we know, since the main adult we see accompanying them is their bodyguard.
But then again, director Bruce Hendricks' film isn't intended for the uninitiated. It's for the tween and teen girls who emitted ear-piercing bleats of glee at the very sight of the words 'Joe Jonas' during the opening titles at the Los Angeles premiere. To their credit, the Jonases do put on a high-energy show, Nick does roundoff-back handsprings!
And Hendricks, who also directed last year's Miley Cyrus 3-D movie, has his cameras everywhere. And it's hard to hate on them completely since they seem like such hardworking, decent kids, except Kevin, that is. At 21, he's a grown-up.
He has chest hair and sideburns. Unfortunately, most of the three-dimensional effects here are pretty gimmicky. As for the songs themselves.. well, they all start to blend into each other after a while. G. 75 min. One and a half stars out of four

Entertainment weekly is the only place who seems to think the Jonas Brothers Movie can't compete with Miley's. Hopefully they're right
http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/02/box-office-prev.html
If a 3-D concert film geared toward screaming tween fans doesn't have an expensive sold-out concert tour preceding it, does it make as loud a sound...at the box office? That's the question on most prognosticators' minds today, as they predict how well Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience will do in theaters this weekend.
Sure, the film comes out a little over a year after Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour opened to a staggering $31 million in only 683 theaters. And Jonas Brothers is bowing in almost twice as many 3-D venues. But Jonas lacks the immediacy factor that Hannah had going for her: Her real-life concert tour had sold out in record times with desperate parents willing to mortgage their homes on $2,000 tickets to get their sweet, young things into their idol's stage show. (Ahh, the good old days!) Plus, Disney added to the frenzy by promising an exclusive one-week show -- which they promptly extended for two more months once they got wind of its success. The box office has been going crazy since the beginning of the year, so all these factors may be moot. But my guess is Jonas won't reach the number Hannah achieved 12 mere months ago.
1. Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience (http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20261307,00.html) -- $22 million
While most of my sources are claiming this film should only gross in the teens for all the reasons above, I'm pretty sure the power of tween girls is being underestimated. Plus, the tickets cost around $15 for the Digital 3-D experience. Set to bow in 1,271 theaters, expect the Jonas' packaged innocence to do their parents proud at the box office, even if they fall below Miley's numbers.

From variety, apparently the presales for the JB's are no where near what Miley's was but Miley's were amoung the top of all time or something like that so maybe we shoulodn't expect the JB's to be comparable to her:
B.O. observers will be watching to see if "Jonas Brothers" can match last year's $32.1 million opening of Disney's 3-D "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour." (javascript:zodInfuser.FillDescriptions('"Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour."');)
The forecast for "Jonas Brothers" is all over the map. Advance ticket sales aren't anywhere near the levels of those for "Hannah Montana," (http://www.variety.com/profiles/TVSeries/main/173918/Hannah%20Montana.html?dataSet=1) although the latter was billed as a one-week run, which boosted pre-sales. Regardless, "Jonas Brothers," opening in 1,271 3-D theaters, will have no trouble winning the weekend.
The Disney machine is hoping that "Jonas Brothers" will be a must-see for tween and teen girls. During their recent concert tour, the pop band incited near-mayhem among fans. Some say Cyrus' fanbase is bigger since she's the star of her own Disney show. The Jonas Brothers have appeared on Disney television, but their own show won't begin to air until summer. At the same time, the trio has seen wild success with its music, including being nominated for a Grammy for new artist

The expectations were too high. I would love for EW to be right, for no other reason then this movie was way over hyped. Disney needs to rememeber what makes everything Miley did in her first 2 years so special. it wasn't expected, it wasn't planned.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/movies/orl-movie-review-jonas-brothers-3d-concert-experie,0,5981099.story
The easy comparison here is the Disney packaged Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana 3D concert film of last year and this isn't up to that. Same director (Bruce Hendricks), sure, and they're all part of that Disney pop music stable of stars, so there are no rough edges to the over-produced concert, no room for improvisation or freshness in their brief set. But that Cyrus film had the odd off-message moment – Miley backstage complaining about her backup dancers almost dropping her, her stage-mom cajoling her into being a trooper about that and doing her job.
Team Jonas seems too disciplined to allow such human foibles to show. Their parents are nowhere to be found. There's no peek at them creating songs or being taught the choreography of their shows. Genuine fan mayhem moments are mixed in with plainly manufactured ones.

one of the radio stations here completely mocked the girls this morning. they told people to call in if they saw the movie last night at midnight. and the girls who called in were too stupid to realize that he was actually mocking them, not wanting to know about the movie or their obsession with them.
it was incredibly entertaining. his co-DJs were trying so hard not to laugh.

they pretty much said everything that's been said before. they just made fun of the girls for skipping school, always saying how SOOOOOO cute they are, everything that they own that has the JB on it, ect. they were asking about the movie and asked about the behind the scenes stuff (because EVERYONE knows it's scripted). then he was like "they really have so much talent. just look at them. they are soooooo cute! and they have just angelic voices. not to mention they can really play the guitar. i mean, nevermind the 3 guitar players behind them. THEY ROCK!". one girl caught on and got mad and said "you're mean" and hung up hahaha

These Disney-created automatons have none of the charisma of Miley Cyrus, the super-duper star of "Hannah Montana," as seen in this lightweight concert film, priced for rip-offs at $15.
Cyrus was shown last year in behind-the-scenes moments to be a genuine person with good humor and human emotions interacting with colleagues and family alike. It wasn't groundbreaking stuff, but it felt authentic.
The brothers appear comfortable only when on stage, with sound musicianship and an energy that feeds the frenzy of tween girls. These prepubescents are shown, at concert sites and lining up for the boys' New York promotional appearances, displaying near-Beatlesque fervor at witnessing the young hunks in the flesh.
Do the Jonas Brothers have parents? I have no idea from the film.
With two of them over age 18, I guess I shouldn't worry about this matter.
But the brothers aren't done any favors by the filmmakers, who realize the documentary idea is a bust when featuring fellows with little to say ("Omigosh, look at all the people!" is the most intelligent, as well as frequent, comment that leaves their mouths).

"I realize that school was in session, but I can only compare to this the half-full theater I found one year ago at the same hour for the Hannah Montana 3-D flick, the success of which the studio is looking to replicate.
I immediately realized that either home-schoolers were less enthused to see the Jonas Brothers and moms were not being begged for school-skipping privileges on Friday with the same passion. "

while yes that's partly true i guess, they wouldn't do it if they didn't want to. I mean why fly all around the US on ur off days just to get a little extra money, a lot of the times are sold out for the weekend anyway, before they announced this whole thing.
Most people aren't even going more than once, just going at the time they have tickets in hopes of seeing them there. and then theres the creepers who are trying to track the plane so they can try to meet them at the airport or the theatre around it...

Hm... Idk, I think they're trying too hard to make sure this is 'the best 3D movie ever' and don't trust only the people going to the theaters to see it... they have to basically force the fans to go there otherwise they'd be crying for years if they didn't see the Jonas Brothers... they don't trust their fanbase, they think have to do all these things like basically forcing tween girls to go to all the showings so they don't miss them, because they know that the fans are obsessed and I feel like they take advantage of it some times. Why they would fly all over the US? Yeah they want to but I think they really want to make sure this is the best 3d movie ever... it seems like they want to win in everything Miley does or did in the past.
My opinion, though.

I wouldn't call those numbers great, I would call them outright bad to what they must have been expecting. Though it's a cheap format to do really, the concerts were going on anyway so they just had to tape them. So they'll make money of it anyway.

I think the per screen average on Friday also tells a lot $12,667 for Miley vs $3,777 for the Jonas Brothers. (there are numbers on box office mojo now) Miley also had the disadvantage of the Superbowl weekend. I don't even see the Jonas Brothers going over $15M if those numbers continue.

The Hollywood Report had this to say:
The kids are all right -- a bit better than all right, actually, if you were to ask anybody at Disney on Saturday.
Disney's "Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert" rang up $4.8 million on Friday. That was a solid start to its opening weekend and should keep the preteens magnet on track to top the domestic boxoffice through Sunday.
The Friday haul was bolstered by showtimes starting at midnight Thursday in many venues, with the concert pic playing in 1,271 auditoriums in total.
The Jonas Brothers gained their first big national exposure with musical appearances on Disney Channel and airplay on Radio Disney for their albums. It's been a public trajectory closely mimicking that of teen warbler Miley Cyrus, who enjoyed similar big screen success last February.
Disney opened Cyrus' 3-D concert film, "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds," with a first-weekend haul of $31.1 million. "Hannah" -- which refers to a character in a Disney Channel show starring Cyrus -- registered a total $65.3 million domestically.
For the Jonases, there is every reason to believe its eventual domestic cume can match that for the "Hannah" concert pic. But its opening will surely lag its 3-D predecessor considerably.
Notably, "Jonas Brothers" is scheduled to run for a month or so, whereas the "Best of Both Worlds" was scheduled as a one-week-only release and thus enjoyed a bigger must-see boost over its opening weekend. (As it turned out, the "Hannah" pic extended its run a couple of weeks after an outsized bow.)
Elsewhere on Friday, the Fox-distributed martial-arts actioner "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" grossed just $1.7 million over its first day in wide release. "Legend" was produced and financed by Hyde Park, with Fox simply on board for a distribution fee.
Fox Searchlight added several hundred playdates for its Oscar magnet "Slumdog Millionaire" and grossed $3.2 million to rank third among Friday grossers. Tyler Perry's "Madea Goes to Jail" was second with $4.5 million.
Collectively, the weekend looks like it could prove another winner for the industry. The domestic boxoffice has marked year-over-year upticks in six of seven weekends thus far this boxoffice year.
I don't see how they expect it to make as much as Miley's movie with an opening like that even though we still have to wait for the Saturday and Sunday grosses.
I still find it odd though and I bet it is nothing Disney would have expected.

but what I'm saying is they did that with Miley's and people went anyways. plus there is no way that enough people went to free screenings to make a huge difference in sales.
I honestly think that the JB's don't have nearly as many fans as people think they do

The Hollywood Report had this to say:

I still find it odd though and I bet it is nothing Disney would have expected.
I don't think they will if they have a bad opening weekend.
well disney already had the excuse ready yesterday, lol. I saw statements from them saying that they weren't expecting a huge opening weekend because people know this isn't a one week run. I think thats total BS. The JB's made it known they wanted to beat Miley, and disney can say otherwsie but they were expecting them to do better then Miley. I'm shocked at these numbers.

The longer run excuse isn't even valid seeing the Best of Both Worlds movie made more than half of its gross after the first week. Which is a quite normal statistic if you look at movies. So lets say that the JB will make $20M on the first weekend, I don't see them making more than $40M or $50M total in that case.
It would be considered a bad opening weekend if its far below expectations. There is a good chance that will happen.

Whoever said that their fanbase is overrated...I agree. It's very exaggerated.
