lol, yep and Taylor did an interview the other day where the interviewer tried really hard to get Taylor to say Miley wasn't her best friend and Taylor keep being like but she is my best friend.

I'm surprised they haven't done that with Miley. I think the best friend thing can encompass more than one. Since there are so many different aspects to a person's life. Like Taylor said, if I can have different songs on different charts, why can't I have more than one best friend? Something like that. Abigail is her hometown best friend, Kellie is her country music peer best friend, and Miley is music superstar best friend. For Miley, there's Mandy, Lesley, Taylor, etc. Limiting yourself to one just makes your other friends feel like crap.

Definitely, there is nothing wrong with having more than one best friend.
I think the media was looking for a headline. If Taylor named one person, the media would have the following headline:

"So and so no longer best friend of Taylor" or
"Taylor disses so and so; no longer best friend"

I think you have different best friend for different things. like Leslie is the best friend Miley's known almost her entire life and Mandy is kind of the best friend you have fun with and she can take mind off things and I think Taylor's the kind of best friend who will be a shoulder to cry on, someone you can talk to and who will really listen.

I have that with my 2 best friends, expect one of my best friends is both the person whose been my best friend since preschool and the person who will be a shoulder to cry on.

Best friends don't even have to be for different purposes, it can just be that you become best friends with someone and stay very close for a long time, and along the way you meet other people who you also become best friends with. It's not even that the media doesn't get that, they do, they just don't really care - whatever sells, right?
