Welcome to my Gimp tutorials1
I use Gimp 2.4.6

Tutorial 1
colouring

1. Open up your avatar.
Go to Colours>Colour Balance
On Midtones, set the top one to -10, the middle one 0, and the bottom one 10.
On Shadows, set the top one to -10, the middle one 0, and the bottom one 10.
On Highlights, set the top one to -10, the middle one 0, and the bottom one 10.
You should get something like this:

2. Go to Colours>Brightness-Contrast
Set Brightness to 0.
Set Contrast to 40.
You should get something like this:

3. Go to Colours>Curves
Set it to something like this:

You should now have something like this:

4. Go to Colours>Levels
Make sure yours has the same settings as mine:

5. Go to Colours>Brightness-Contrast
Set Brightness to 0.
Set Contrast to 30.
You should have this:

6. Go to Colours>Curves
Set yours to this:

Tutorial 2
colouring

1. Go to Colours>Brightness-Contrast
Brightness: 10
Contrast: 40

2. Go to Colours>Colour Balance
Midtones:
Top line: -50
Middle line: 20
Bottom line: 40

3. Go to Colours>Brightness-Contrast
Brightness: -20
Contrast: 30

4. Go to Colours>Filter Pack
Go to Value and click lighter once
