Video camera help! :)

I want a Video camera to film and make
music videos or 'memories' and I have NO idea-
Absolutely NO idea if theres a specific type for me.
All I ever know is that i need one that films.
I want it to be a updated version, kind of small but not expensive.
Does anyone have any ideas of which i would get and what program
i would use to put edit clips and stuff together?

I want a film camera, aka, a video camera. Not a regular picture taking camera, that you can take video with, a actually VIDEO camera made for videos.
Oh, i think its called a camcorder

my mom used one for her video class thingy
