REMINDER for UK Fans - BBC Switch FULL Radio Concert airs....

Hi, :) I didnt know whether to post in Music or Media, but then I thought there is NO media... YET, so General will do for now as I am new here it will take a while for me to get used to what to post where.

I dont know if anyone else already uploaded it at all??? but for those that dont know....

BBC Radio 1 are airing the FULL Switch Concert that Miley and others did in London a few weeks back.

It airs THIS WEEKEND, Sunday the 28th of December 2008 at 7pm until 10pm.

It also airs same on FREEVIEW channel 700.

I did actually record it all when it first aired but I have NOT been able to edit or upload it as I am offline so much, also because when I view/listen to/record from channel 700 (and all BBC Radio Channels) it always comes out crackly, and it doesnt matter what DVB/PVR/DTR I use, they all do the same so it must be them I guess, as it doesnt do it on NON BBC Radio channels.

It should also be airing from their website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 I think they have a podcast thing or ways that ANYONE? can tune in and listen, but I dont actually know how that works as I have never used it.

As said my version is crackly! hopefully someone else will be able to record a NON crackly version. :)

But it's so sad that it's radio only again :( Why can't they air the entire gig on BBC HD that would be soooooo awesome :) And they are airing only trailers / previews on BBC HD for like 80% of the time anyway so they wouldn't even have to change their schedule but just show the gig instead of some of those trailers!

No problem so I'll do the entire thing plus a seperate Miley-only version :)

But could maybe sb of you who lives in the UK ask the BBC if they could possibly air the entire gig on TV or even on BBC HD? It would be so awesome if the would do it :)

I would ask them myself but if I would write them from Germany I don't think that counts much for them cause they really don't want me to get their channels over here in Germany in the first place :( So I think it would be better if someone who actually lives in the UK would ask :)

I hope they'll end up airing it on one of the SD channels and on BBC HD too so that everyone could watch it no matter if she / he has HD equipment or not. Allthough just for capping purposes HD only would be fine too cause it's no problem to make a "normal" SD video out of an HD cap just the other way round is not really possible.

It would be so cool if we could get it in real HQ or even better HD then I could finally delete this crappy video I ripped from the BBC website :)

LOL so true, but the ones off the net are still pretty good. It was a shame that they didn't air the full performances on TV on the Sound show, and what they did show was cut down, but hopefully one day they will air the whole thing.

Well I've posted all the available videos of the Switch Live thingy a few weeks ago in the "Gerneral Miley Media" section. Unfortunately they only aired "See You Again" and "7 Things" on TV so only those two ones are really HQ all the other performances she did there are only available as a not exactly HQ video I ripped of the BBC's website :(

But now Nelliephant is going to try to ask the BBC wether they could air the entire gig on TV and if she is successfull with that then I'll be able to record and upload the entire gig in HQ or if they air it on BBC HD even in HD :)

So now it all depend on wether you are able to convince those BBC guys that they have to air it on TV Ellie! lol

Hi Everyone :) When I was at the gig, I asked staff there and they said the whole thing WOULD be aired later in the year, so far it hasn't aired on TV, but it has gone out on radio.

The hosts talk about Miley saying how funny she was and how much they loved her, THE BEST OF SOUND aired last week and Miley was on that too, but I dont know if it was the same as I only recorded it and havent watched it back.

Miley will also be on other TV shows in the coming weeks like MTV Meets Miley Cyrus on 03rd January 2009 and various Hannah Montana shows, and E4 are doing look backs over the year, so she should be on that.

Wow UK MTV shows a special about Miley - that makes me jealous :)

German MTV really stinks they don't even show any of her video clips :(

And I can't get MTV One UK cause I would need a Sky subscription for that channel which would be way to expensive :(

So I hope sb could record and upload this MTV special :)

It would be great if sb of you who live in the UK could always send me a PM everytime there's sthg about Miley on UK TV so that I could then record and upload it :) Cause in fact I get all BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Five stations and even some more here over satelite and can record them in real HQ but I usually don't check what's on there so that's why I propably missed that THE BEST OF SOUND thingy last weekend too :(

Hi, :) I cant get MTV either! I dont have Satelite or Cable, and over here trying to get ANYTHING that records HD and can then send it to a PC is BEEP really hard, the digiboxes thety make have USB on them but the USB is for UPGRADES or sometimes for INPUT, I have a DTR that is FULL of video, but the only way to get it out is to copy it to DVD and that means lowering the quality, I couldnt even get windows to SEE the Hard Drive as its one of those damn AV Hard Drives! :/

So hopefully someone will do the MTV show, theres over a week to find someone! :)

I am not online all the time but sure when i find out info i will try and get it to you, having more than one person capping is better! as sometimes things do go wrong! and i cant currently upload, yet I do have LOADS of things, theres over 10 hours of unedited shows on that DTR on Miley, inc, GMTV, This Morning, Freshly Squeezed, Wake Up With (? cant think the name), SOUND, SWITCH, TMi, etc.

I just keep it for now until someday i can get it done, hopefully that will be during 2009. I cant even keep up with all the magazines that Miley is in, there has been over 100 in the last 2 months!

Anyways I have to go! I will try and get back tomorrow.

Yeah I know those official PVRs are horrible cause you can't get anything out of them digitally :(

Fortunately I can get all channels digitally on my PC where I can record them directly to my computer's hdd and then further edit the stuff or whatever I want :)

I can even do that with the encrypted Channel 4 HD and the encrypted HD channels of the German provider Premiere so that's really cool!

But that's all really not so official lol Officially you are allowed to use certified receivers only for both Sky UK and Premiere and these are those crappy PVRs where you can't get anything out in digital form :(

Hi there! i didnt even know about AV HDDs until i voided the warranty on the DTR lol.

I wonder if my other equipment is the same? like my DVD/HDD's? cos id love to rip the drives out of them instead of using DVDRW's. but I just dont know if Windows will see them, there MUST be a way somehow!?

Anyways i hope someone can record it, im sure though it will be repeated somewhere, but MTV probably will be better quality than TMF or wherever. I will try and ask around too although I dont know anyone who has sat. and some way of recording, they have one or the other. The UK is so far behind on EVERYTHING, cor by the time ULTRA HD 4320p comes out we will just be turning off ANALOG in 2012.

Hopefully someone will record the show! :) Sounds like you work very hard Karl!? I dont know you and your posts yet or anything you have done, but I know from recording as much as I do and everything else that capping is hard and time consuming, so you use your PC? wow that must be so much faster! doing it my way means I dont have to be there to record but its so muich harder to get it off the drives and INTo a pc. SOMEONE SOMEDAY PLEASE MAKE HDD/DVDS that have FIREWIRE!!! (for under 100.00 cough cough) lol

It's very likely that your DVD/HDD recording device contains a "normal" HDD too but it depends on the filesystem and formats used wether you would be able to rip the recorded shows off if you would install the drive into a computer. I think it might be possible to do it with special software with "normal" Windows-only it's very unlikely I think and some PVRs even password protect or encrypt the drives so that there's no way of ripping anything of with a PC :(

But unless you are really familiar with computers and that kind of stuff I wouldn't recommend you trying to remove any HDDs from your PVR or DVD/HDD recording device and installing them into your computer cause otherwise you might end up destroying both your PVR and your computer :(

But there are in fact PVR digital receivers out there which have an actual working USB or Ethernet connection which can be used to copy all the recorded shows straight to your PC and there are even models which can straightly record to an external harddisk connected over USB or an USB key.

Unfortunately most cable and satelite providers in Europe only allow their certified receivers to be used and of course none of those above mentioned receivers is ever going to be certified cause those companys don't want us to be able to transfer recorded shows straight to the PC and upload it to the Internet :( That's why they're enforcing their certified devices in the first place.

So using one of those receivers is as inofficial as using my PC with a digital tv tuner card it's both not officially allowed by most providers in Europe :(

Maybe I could recommend you sthg which would make it easier for you to record stuff and upload it but I would have to know how you get your telly programs first which means via cable, satelite or via a roof top antenna?

If you're lucky it won't cost you more than 30 Euro (sorry I don't exactly know how much this is in British Pounds) and you would then be able to record everything directly on your PC like I do :)

And about the UK being behind in everything:

I can only say you haven't seen Germany yet if you think the UK is behind :(

In the UK there are I think way over 20 HD channels in Germany we only have 4 of them and I would bet that at least 60% of all flat TV owners here in Germany don't even know what HD is lol

In fact here in Germany there are hell a lot of ppl who are watching analog TV on their HD ready or even FullHD flat tv's and then they're wondering why the picture looks so bad.

Back one year we actuall had two more HD channels here in Germany but then they swichted them off cause there were too less ppl watching them. Can you believe this they're actually switching off HD channels here while launching new analog ones :(

So honestly when it comes to TV you are lucky to live in the UK cause I think it's one of the most advanced countries in Europe when it comes to digital TV, HD and such things and you allways get everything in English of course not with stupid German dubbing like over here :)

And actutlly I don't capp so much Miley stuff for the international fan community. I would really like to do more and I certainly have the necessary equipment but they don't really show very much about her on German TV and even if they do it's allways with stupid German dubbing over it so that most of you can't understand it :(

I remember back in July I think when the new Hannah Montana eppy "Hannah In The Street With Diamonds" actually did premiere here in Germany before it did in the UK or US. I did capp and upload it but cause the German Disney Channel offers German dubbed audio only it wasn't of much use cause most ppl on here couldn't understand it :(

The same thing with the interviews the did with Miley when she was in Berlin. I've recorded and uploaded the fan specials but they had a stupid German dubbing voice over every word she said :(

Fortunately nailzee (another user on here who is also from Germany and is part of the same German Miley fan forum as I am) translated one of those fan specials then I wanted to translate the second one but then I was just too lazy to do it :(

German TV isn't really quite optimal for capping Miley related things I really wish I could get US TV over here but unfortunately that's completely impossible :(

Actually I think the only big Miley related thingy I was able to capp from German TV and upload it for all the other Miley fans around the world was the gig she did in Berlin cause they actually aired almost the entire gig in very good quallity on TV here (but not in HD sadly).

Those who really work hard are the fans over in the US who always capp and upload everything about her on US TV for all of us! Without their help all of us fans outside the US wouldn't be able to see most of that cool Miley things so I really soooo appreciate what they're doing :)

Hi, first up! thank you for th giant reply! :) I love long replies as I have a habit of chatting a lot myself!! lol :) I didnt know it was that bad in Germany! ive alwasy been p*ssed Japan and the USA gets everything, a lot of people here are like that when it comes to movies, music, tv, and technology, when they used to release a movie in the USA say in January it wouldnt come out in the UK until March or July or sometimes they would fgo to video or dvd instead! it became so frustrating, i think thats why theres so many pirates out there years ago, because the movie companies stuffed people over, and they still do, really movies and music should get worldwide release dates, but of course that messes up the premieres.... :/

I have seen a lot of German, French and Spanish videos from fans and YEP they all get dubbed, and it is annoying, but i guess they think these only go out in those countries, really it would be great if it was like a DVD with multiple audio channels.

I dont have HD myself, I actually dont even have a place to live, im between places, but i have my equipment stored in a place and i let them use it and they let me use it, IE i get to record tv and they get to use my dvds and the dvds they buy, so it balances for now until i can actually find a place cheap enough to rent. HD herre is very expensive on SKY and VM, I wont be getting either when I do find a place, I think I will buy something else, i was in a storee and i saw a sat dish and box that you could plug a HDD into, but the shop didnt know how BIG the hard drive it could take or what channels you can get, and of course i couldnt buy it anyways with no where to put the dish.

As for my DTR i already un did it and put it into a PC, the bios can see it, windows can see it b ut it has no drive letters and cant be accessed, someone else too said its in RAW format so PCs cant see it, the hard drives in DTRs have no IC's on them so they run cooler, they look like a EIDE but they are different and they cost more rto buy an AV HDD I found out when in the store. :/ they didnt know what to do either, so copy from DTR to DVD/HDD is the only way I guess.

I havent undone the DVD /HDD but I do need to, the drive is corrupt somehow, when the videos get over 60, everything that is reecorded plays the same thing for the next few, IE 60 is a movie, 61 is music, 62 a tv show, but all 3 play the tv show for however long it is and then it goes blocky and switches to the the movie.

if it was a windows drive i would just scandisk/chkdsk but ive no idea if this drive can be seen by windows yet, and as this is NEW its about 3 months old, i am going to copy everything off onto DVD as much as I can get and then decide what to do, so that means at least 20 hours is still on it UNCOPYABLE, as the HDD wont copy any of the corrupt videos.

once it records about 3 or 4 videos it goes back to recording and playing what you actually DID record, ie a movie IS the movie, but the ones that are messed STAY messed and dont change even if you delete the last thing like #62, then 60 and 61 are still messed. ive never known anything like it before, the hard drive in it must have been damaged at the factory or the thing was dropped instore before i got it, as no way should a hard drive mess up so soon. Anyways somehow I will figure it out and get as much off as I can do!

Speaking of copying, I was on the DTR today and just about to delete a show as I thought nothing wa son it then i saw MILEY!! she was on for about 2 seconds SMILING and saying "five gold rings" and that was it! so im now wondering if the other shows the same that I deleted might have had more clips? the clip of Miley was mixed with other celebs singing and it lasted about 50 seconds in total, so its easy to miss something like that, especially when ive seen clips similar weeks ago and there was only UK celebs on them ones. Jammy that I saw her for that 2 seconds I guess. :) I will get that into the PC soon.

Sorry for all the :( you did above, from the little ive been on here and seen how much people like you and like you doing things I thought you did loads, I didnt know you was in Germany, so its kinda the same for everyone in Europe, as the USA always gets the most things, especially from American stars.

If it wasnt for them most celebs wouldnt be known really as its the fans that make them and fans helping each other that help fans stay fans. We need things to keep us going, pictures and scans and videos, otherwise if you see someone else on TV you might go be a fan of them instead.

And thats why you shouldnt be sad!!! You and so many are part of that fan network!, you might not get everything in English for everyone to understand, but I bet what you do get is really great and probably exclusive things that hadnt been seen by LOADS of fans! I know the dubbing can be annoying as we want to hear Miley talking and not the translator, but thats OUT of your hands!!, you have the haredest and most important job of capturing anything that you can when you get the chance!, you cant do it all, no one can do it all, i live in the UK and i support loads of celebs and i even record for people and fans I DONT SUPPORT!, if im recording tv all day and someone comes on and i think someone might like them or like on forums like this that have fans of loads of celebs then i keep it as it MIGHT make some of them happy!, so its really hard capturing so much for so many!, I gave GIGS and GIGS of unedited and un uploaded as I just couldnt get it all done and im so sad that I couldnt!, but when i get a place i will start to get it done, it will be slow but I will try!, and so dont be sad! YOU ARE AN AWESOME PERSON!! a really BRILLIANT and HARD WORKING FAN!! an an assett to Miley and her fans!! Someday when i can do I am going to download your videos and sit there smiling that WOW we are all so lucky that an AWESOME fan like you captured those for people to see someday. :)

EVERY CLIP IS IMPORTANT TO SOMEONE you know! not everyone likes the same songs or videos, not everyone likes chocolate or tea, so the more we can find the more chance it will make someone happy, and as said you ARE a part of the network of cappers, and an AWESOME FAN! :)

I wonder if they play all of her performances or again just the 3 they played on October 12th allready? I really hope they play all of them this time!

It would be really great if sb of you who actually listened to the entire show could tell me what exactly on Miley the aired so that I know for what to look while editing the Miley-only version :)

But of coure I'll upload the entire show including all the stuff related to other artists as well!

And if someone would like to have the raw unconverted MPEG Audio Layer 2 version of the entire show for editing out the parts of other artists by theirself I would be glad to upload that one too :)

Don't worry I was busy doing other things so I most likely wouldn't had time to do it anyway.

And I still have a lot of things to do (both Miley-related and non Miley-related) so I really can't promise you that I would do this tomorrow or the day after that even if you tell me tomorrow. It could take a few more days till I find the time to do it so there's really no need to rush yourself Ellie!
