Miley Is Today Show's Fifth Most Intriguing Person of 2008

I have no link, I just saw it on tv. She was fifth behind Tina Fey, Michael Phelps, Sarah Palin, and Barack Obama. I would've switched her with Phelps, but still good. This led my mother saying that "I just hope next year we won't hear so much about Miley Cyrus." And well, I had to explain to her what the media is trying to do, and she still didn't get it. She gets that it isn't Miley's fault, and she didn't say why she wished we wouldn't hear so much about her, but still, pissed me off a little.

today in public speaking we didnt have an assignment so we were just supposed to go up and talk about the holidays and people were allowed to ask us questions
so i went up and someone was like "do you know what miley's plans are for the holidays?"
and i was like "she took a plane to nashville a couple days ago with almost her entire family"

the thing that really intrigues people about Miley, is her personality...she is witty, smart, and real, as if you are her best friend.

She really stands out from the rest of the disney girls because Miley Cyrus is a phenomenon in pop culture and anything SHE does attract a media frenzy. What ever she does whether an interview or a performance...she has this personality that makes you want to watch and listen to her.

She draws attention no matter what she's doing. Love her or hate her, the girl is here to stay. The VF fiasco sounds like it was on par media wise with stuff like assasinations, Elizabeth Smart, etc. IE, it just wouldn't die down no matter what. The kid was nowhere to be found, but still they talked about it. I think my mom said it out of protectiveness, not annoyance. She said the same thing when the death rumors were swirling.
