Never In A Million Years
A Mini Fan-Fiction by Kaitlyn
This is just a small story I thought up the other day. Just a small one that doesn't need chapters, but just a single post. Enjoy.
"Alright, Molli," My dad whispered, "Just aim, and fire!"
I held up my rifle towards the small duck that was feasting at the edge of the giant lake at our campsite. I shot, and I hit the duck right in the chest.
"Pretty good for your first time, kiddo," My dad congratulated me, though I do not know how he could possibly see any joy in killing harmless ducks.
I faked a smile. "What a rush," was all I said.
We walked back to our campsite, but I decided I would go for a walk in the woods.
I always came to this campsite on weekends during the spring in a small town called Forks in Washington. It was still cold, but it was always pretty outside. I have gone down the trail I was about to go on a million times at least. Nothing has ever come at me or anything. These woods were rumored to have almost no wild life.
"Dad, I think I'm going to take a short walk down the trail, unless you want me to help you with the fish you caught this morning," I offered, though I really did not want to touh a dead fish unless it was cooked.
"No, Molli, that's okay. You go enjoy yourself in the woods. Don't stay out there for too long, because it's about to get dark."
"Got it, dad."
"Stay safe."
"Alright." I turned on my heel and walked though the woods to the little trail that winded through the forest. At the end of my trail was a cliff that overlooked a valley. At the exact middle of the valley was a wide river that shone blue in the sunlight. It was absolutely breathtaking.
I was walking down the trail when I wasn't paying attention, and I tripped over a rock and fell hard on my knee. It started to bleed kind of badly. I took my bandana that was wrapped around my ears to keep them warm and tied it around my knee to help stop the blood flow. What I didn't realize was that I was being watched by a preditor.
I looked up to a giant bear, probably 7 feet tall when it stood up on its hind legs. It reared up, and swiped at my neck.
I ducked, but it scratched my face. I screamed.
I tried to get up, but the bear took another swipe at my face. I swung out of the way, and it cut my knee open larger. So much for my bandana.
I was losing a lot of blood, and I knew I had was probably going to die. I prayed to God for some mirale to spare my life.
I was feeling the drowsiness just as the bear decided to finish me off. I was falling into blackness from loss of blood, and as soon as I saw the bear over me, about to crush my head, I was lifted. I did not know what the heck it was, but I didn't care. I was safe from the bear.
I hoped.
I was slightly aware of the wind brushing my face as I flew (I think) through the air towards what I thought was Heaven. Could I have died?
The blackness drew me in, and I was certain I had died.
Then the wind stopped, and I felt a powerful stinging in my neck that burned down my torso and into every inch of my body. It felt like I was on fire.
Heaven couldn't be painful, right?
I could not find my mouth to scream, but I remember clenching my fists. It burned so bad.
The fire did not go out, ever. It felt like a decade before the fire burned out. Then it started to cool, and my senses were overpowering my train of thought. I opened my eyes to a beautiful face.
It startled me, and I sat up, surprised by my surroundings.
"Where...am...I?" I said, shock in my voice.
I was not in Heaven. I was not in the woods, or the campsite. I was not in a hospital, or my house.
The beautiful man took a deep breath. "I'm Dr. Carlisle Cullen. This is my house."
I looked around, shocked. The place was so open and beautiful. The sun shone brightly through a large window.
"Oh my God!" I screamed. My skin was sparkly. "Why am I so sparkly?!" I screamed again.
"Listen..."
"Molli."
"Listen, Molli. My son and his wife, Edward and Bella, found you in the woods being attacked by a bear. They ran you to me. I could not fix your wounds. You had lost too much blood.
"You are not human anymore. You are a vampire."
I stared at him blankly. "A vampire? Are you kidding me?"
And Carlisle explained to me every aspect of my new life. And the reports on me gone missing.
I met everyone in his family, including Bella and Edward, the ones who saved me. Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, Alice, Esme, and Renesmee completed their family.
And so I lived almost-happily-ever-after with my new family.
