Ok so I thought I'd make a thread for discussions on the platinum edition.
Hovering is amazinggg but Trace doesn't have a big part on it as I thought he would, he does some backing vocals but I love his vocals on the song and Someday I feel like it'll grow on me just like Clear, I wasn't used to Clear at first but its one of my fave songs from MMC.
I love it though, it sounds peaceful, kind of reggae Idk.
"no boy can't find me easy to resist."
LOL Miley!
I don't want to post youtube or download links here cause if I do mods will move this to General Media and I don't want that.
I want this thread for discussions... so if you didn't hear, listen on youtube and then go buy the album. :D

why just Miley? you don't like Trace in the song? haha
yeah Trace has really small parts lol but I love his parts on the song.. the "you always said that we'd make it through" on the background makes it more awesome.
I'm seriously in love with Hovering, lol.
Like the beat and when Miley sings the hovering parts I love it.

because
1) it wasn't a duet, Trace did only a little bit of back round vocals. it essentially was just MIley singing except for the end which was the only part of traces that was okay
2) they did exactly what i was hoping they wouldn't, they had Miley singing the type of music she always sings and trace singing what he also always sings and they just threw it together.
Its two vastly different styles, you can't just throw them together like that. Its Miley singing a very beautifully and then all of a sudden Trace scream-singing. its a beautiul song, until you get to the chorus and trace sings. don't get me wrong I love Metrostation but the way they went about this was wrong. this song is such a great song and Miley sounds so good on it, they should have just had miley do it solo

hmm... :33:
oh well yeah they would basically throw them together anyways cause Miley and Trace didn't record the song together, they recorded separatedly... and their style is different so it wouldn't sound like really on the same thing both of them but Idk I like the way it turned out.
I wasn't really expecting for them to change their styles, just kind of match both of them together.
I agree that it was like Miley singing beautifully and then Trace screaming out of nowhere but it somehow matched with the song to me because it was just backing vocals and it matches because when Miley is singing "Hovering... Hovering..." her tone is louder so the screaming on the background works for that part, but if it wasn't background vocals I don't think that would work.
Thats me, though.

theres a difference between recording seperately and throwing styles together that are vastly different. I don't wnat them to sound the same but musicially they should have been singing the same style of music. that was my biggest concern with this song that trace would do his thing and Miley would do hers, and that what happened.
screaming backround vocals had nothing to do with the song really or the way Miley was singing. The way Miley was singing was the dead opposite of how trace was. If Trace was really, truly singing and singing backround verses like Miley was singing then it would have been fine IMO.
its a beautiful song, I just wish it had just been Miley. I'm a huge metrostation fan but the way they went about this completely ruined an otherwise great song

I honestly don't know what to think about the two songs yet........
Hovering is just odd, it starts out as an all nice song and then Trace comes in screaming. The Miley part is quite alright, so it's basically a Miley song with some Trace added.
Someday I don't even know what genre to put it in, I think it's more a case of Miley experimenting a bit :).
So they're both okay songs just not brilliant, so they don't make the platinum edition really better than the normal Breakout, just a bit longer.

Definitely.
Its way different than the usual stuff we hear from her, and I like it.

haha I said that on another forum, lol.
That it sounds kind of reggae, especially the "someday"s in the background.
I like her vocals there.

ha ha i snuck out of lschool to get this lol. It was totally worth it. But i didn't get caught so i'm happy. I begged my boy who is a friend to take me because a 14 year old snkeaking out across an intersection is never smart so i begged him. He was like "Fine, i hate supporting your Miley needs but whatever." I'm so happy i have it now. Hovering is good someday is something alright.

I just got the CD today. I really like the songs. Trace's voice doesn't bother me as much as the lyrics of the song. Doesn't it sound like love song? And not like brother and sister love, more like a BF/GF

I haven't heard Hovering yet, but I don't know why some people are complaining about the clashing of genres. I love songs that blend pop, rock, screamo, etc. all together. One of my favorite bands at the moment is a Christian band named Showbread. They have two singers, one who sings and one who does some screaming. The songs can be melodic and brutal all in one. That being said, I can't really be a judge until I hear the song ;).

because it doesn't fit the song or how Miley is singing

well, I haven't heard any of them, and I'm kinda watching George Lopez (:D), but I think I like Hovering based on the title, but I realllly like Clear.
