Summary: [ written in Lilly's POV ]
Hi, my name is Lilly Truscott, and until a few months ago, I was a pretty average girl.
I went to high school everyday, hung out with my best friends Lilly and Oliver, and did
all your normal teenager kinds of things. And then... I met him... and I never knew that
things would end up where they are now.... And this may sound really cheesy, but he literally
changed my life. But, right now, I can't tell if the change was for better or for worse....

Chapter 1: Running into each other.

Lilly's POV
“Miley, give me that!” I said, trying to pull the paper Miley had just took from me back. “It’s private!”
“What is it?” Miley asked curiously, opening the folded paper and examining it. “Wow Lilly… These are great lyrics.”
I blushed, embarrassed that she was reading my song lyrics. “T-thanks.” I stammered.
“All this time goes by, still no reason why, a little bit longer and I’ll be fine. Waiting on a cure, but none of them are sure, a little bit longer and I’ll be fine….” Miley sang softly under her breath. “I love that.”
I smiled appreciatively. “I just wrote them last night. They’re nothing special, but can I please have them back?”
“By George, Lillian, you may.” Miley said jokingly in a British accent. She handed me my lyrics back and I laughed.
“Why thank you Miss Miley.” I replied in a British accent as well, putting my nose in the air snootily. We both cracked up and then the bell rang. That bell meant that Miley went to Biology, and I went to English. I grabbed my books out of my locker and said goodbye to her as I walked down the hall.
I stopped to go to the bathroom and when I came out, I realized I was late for class! I ran down the hall as quickly as possible, maybe a little too quickly because when I turned a corner, I collided with another person.
“Ooof!” I said, falling to the floor, my books flying all over the place.
“I’m so sorry!” Both me and the boy I’d run into said apologetically.
I started to gather up my things and the boy helped me. “Sorry about that,” I said, “I was running to get to class. I’m late.”
“It was my fault,” The guy said, “I wasn’t looking.”
He picked up my literature book and that was the last thing. I looked up and saw his face. The boy had big, curly, brown hair and big blue eyes. His face was round and speckled with freckles. He was wearing a red, plaid shirt with black pants and he was gorgeous. I lost my train of thought and ended up just staring at him stupidly, I may have been drooling. But then he waved a hand in front of my face and I snapped out of it immediately.
“Sorry.” I said, embarrassed, “I was just thinking… Have I seen you around here before?”
He shook his head, “Nah, I’m new at this school. Me and my two brothers just moved here 3 days ago. I’m Nick, by the way.” He smiled and stuck a hand towards me. I grinned back and shook his hand, which felt warm.
“Hi!” I said happily, “I’m Lilly. I’m not exactly new here. I’m a junior, you are too right?” Nick nodded and I continued. “Well, I’m basically too late to get to class anyway so, would you like me to show you around the school? I know this place my heart.”
Nick smiled widely at me and nodded his head again, “I’d really like that, Lilly.”
When he said my name, I felt like I was about to melt. I quickly regained my composure and walked down the hall with him, ready to tell him everything I knew about this school.

Chapter 2: New Friends

Lilly's POV
After about and hour of walking around the school, Lilly was talking to Nick as if they’d known each other forever. He was so nice and easy going, he made her feel really comfortable.
“And we are now reaching the last stop on our tour today,” I said, pretending to be a flight attendant or tour guide, “If you’ll look at that wall right there,” I pointed to a blue smudge on the wall in front of us, “You’ll see the blueberry smoothie stain that Parker Andrews made when she laughed so hard that smoothie shot out her nose.”
Nick was laughing almost as hard as I was. “That seriously happened?” He asked, his voice shaky from laughing so much.
I nodded, “Yep. Very odd things have happened in this school.”
“Obviously.” He said, grinning. “Thank you so much for showing me around Lilly, it was fun. I hope I’ll see you again soon. Maybe we can sit together at lunch?”
I giggled. “Sure. I’ll introduce you to my friends and show you all the different cliques of our school.” I winked at him.
Just then, the second bell rang, dismissing everyone from their first period classes. The hall suddenly grew full of students and I gestured for Nick to follow me, looking for Miley. I weaved my way through all the people in the crowd, holding Nick’s hand so he wouldn’t get lost. I wrestled my way past two big jocks and saw Miley drinking from the water fountain. I pulled Nick with me and we hurried over to where she was bent over at the fountain.
“Hey Miles!” I said, and she straightened up, wiping her mouth off.
“Hey Lils…” She replied, raising her eyebrows at Nick, “Hi…um…?”
“Oh right. Miley, this is Nick Jonas, he’s new at this school.” I explained, “Nick, this is my best friend Miley Stewart.”
Miley extended a hand to shake Nick’s, giving him a friendly smile. “Nice to meet you.” Nick said.
“You too.” Miley replied, “Have you gotten your schedule yet?”
He shook his head, making his curly hair bounce a little bit, which I thought was cute. “Nope. I didn’t know where to go to get it. Which is why I was walking so fast when I ran into Lilly.”
Miley wasn’t looking at him though, she was staring with raised eyebrows at Nick’s and my hands that were still clasped together from running through the crowd. I quickly let go of him and he didn’t seem to notice. “We cans how you where to go.” I said, giving Miley a look that meant ‘Say-anything-and-I’ll-hurt-you.’. Miley shrugged and nodded, “Yup, we can. I’ve got free period right now and Lilly does too.”
“We’re like your personal tour guides.” I giggled, Miley and I leading Nick to the front office.

Chapter 3: Lunch.

Lilly's POV
Nick came out of the office, holding a piece of paper in his hand. Miley and I jumped up from the chairs we were sitting in and ran over to see his schedule. I looked over his shoulder as he read it out loud:
“I’ve got English, biology, math, lunch, Spanish, and then band.” He said.
“Eeep!” I squealed, “You’ve got almost the exact same schedule as Miley and me!”
He grinned, relieved that he had friends in his classes. “Great! So I’ll be seeing you a lot, I guess.”
Just then, the bell for lunch period rang and we pulled Nick down the hall where all the students were rushing out of the classrooms to the cafeteria. I saw a boy standing away from the crowd, and yelled for him to come over to where we were.
“OLIVER!” I shouted, gesturing for him to come. “GET OVER HERE!”
Oliver waved and walked through the people and over to where we were standing. “What’s crack-a-lackin’ ladies?” He asked, making me and Miley laugh.
“We want you to meet a new student and our new friend,” Miley replied, pointing at Nick. “This is Nick Jonas, he’s a junior too, and he just moved here.”
“Hey Nick.” Oliver said, waving.
“Nick, this is Oliver Oken. He’s our other best friend.” I said, “He’s kind of a dork, but don’t worry about that.”
He laughed, Oliver laughed a fake laugh, “Hardy har har.”
“Sorry to interrupt, but can we please get to lunch?” Miley asked, “I’m starving.”
We laughed and hurried off to the cafeteria. When we finally got to the lunch line, I saw that we were getting meatloaf today.
“Meatloaf.” I grimaced, “Great…”
Nick chuckled. After we got all our food, we looked around for an empty table.
“There’s one!” Miley said, pointing to a table not far away from where we stood. I followed her over to the table and Nick sat down beside me.
“Okay,” I said, brushing a strand of hair out of my eyes, “I’ll show you all of the different cliques we have here. Over at that table,” I pointed to a table in the corner, “You’ll see the Goths. They mostly eat by themselves and don’t talk much. Don’t get on their bad side.”
Nick nodded as I continued, “Then you’ve got your cheerleaders,” I pointed at a table of blonde girls who were all laughing and talking on their cell phones. “And the jocks.” I pointed to the table right next to the cheerleaders. “Then there’s the nerds slash computer club, the overachievers, the metal heads, the skaters, the loners, the wannabes, the emos, the hippies, and the rest of us are basically just normal people like us.”
He looked impressed. “Wow, that’s a lot of groups. Do you guys ever hang out with any of them?”
I looked from Miley to Oliver, and we all said “Not really.” In unison.
“Uh-oh.” Miley said, nudging me, “Make way for the sluts of the school.”
I looked up and immediately understood. Nick, however, looks confused. “What’s up?” He asked.
I pointed at two girls who were walking towards us, wearing too much make-up and designer brands. “Amber Nielson and Ashley Donovon*. The two most annoying, snobby girls you will ever meet, they hate us.”
Amber and Ashley stopped at our table, and Amber twirled her hair around her finger as she looked at Nick.
“Oooh,” She said, raising a heavily plucked eyebrow, “Who’s your friend?”
“This is Nick Jonas.” Oliver said, “He’s new at this school.”
“Hmm…..” Ashley said, “Well, I hope he’s not as big of a loser as you guys are, for his sake.”
“Leave them alone.” Nick muttered quietly, looking down at the floor.
“Why?” Amber asked, “You’re not friend with them are you?”
“As a matter of fact, I am.” He replied, looking up at her, “So I guess that makes me a loser too.”
“Ugh.” Amber groaned. “Say goodbye to popularity Nick.”
“Yeah, say goodbye.” Ashley repeated stupidly.
“Shut up!” Amber growled at Ashley.
“Shut up!” Ashley repeated. Amber looked at her, “Ohhh.” Ashley said slowly, realizing that Amber was talking to her.
“You were leaving, right?” I asked, motioning for them to leave. They glowered at us and flounced off to another table.
“Lovely girls aren’t they?” Miley asked Nick.
“I can see why you don’t like them.” He said, laughing. “Have they always been like that to you guys?”
I nodded, shoving a bite of meatloaf into my mouth. “Ever since Amber’s 6th birthday party when we ‘accidentally’ pushed her and Ashley into their pool.” I shrugged, “We never really liked them.”
“Just ignore them and you’ll be fine.” Oliver advised.
“Will do.” Nick said, taking a drink of his red fruit punch.

*kay, so i totally forgot what their real last names were.... lol :P oh well.

kay, so here's the thing guys:
i already have 15 chapters of this story typed up
in microsoft word because i had posted this story on
fanfiction.net, but it got deleted for some idiotic reason :(
so i thought, HEY i'll just post it on here so that i can finish the
story. but if no one comments on it, i really can't keep it going
very well :'( and i really want you guys to be able to read
some of what happens towards the middle, cuz it's really
dramatic and good. but no one's really reading it like
they used to read my old fanfictions.....

Chapter 4: Amazing.

Lilly's POV
I stood up, books in hand, and ran to my locker. I stuffed my books inside, grabbed my purple messenger bag out of it, and slammed it shut. I leaned against it, staring into space, thinking about Nick.
“Earth to Lilly….” A voice said, trying to make me snap out of it. “Come in Lilly!”
“Oh!” I cried, surprised to see Miley standing in front of me, “Sorry, Miles. I was just thinking….”
“About Nick?” She asked, as if reading my mind.
“Why would you think that?” I asked, trying to hide the fact that my eyebrows were twitching, which was something they always did when I was hiding something. “Nick’s just my friend, like Oliver.”
Miley folded her arms across her chest and tapped her foot, knowing that I was lying. “C’mon Lils. Admit it! You are in L-O-V-E with Nick Jonas.”
I gave up, “Okay, yes, I guess I am.” I felt a little awkward, even though I’ve always told Miley everything before. “But I don’t think he likes me back. I mean, as a friend yes, but as more than that….”
“Wow.” She replied, smiling a tiny smile. “I knew it. But I won’t say ‘I told you so’ because you already seem really sad. But at least you and Nick are friends.”
I nodded, “Yeah, you’re right, I guess. He’s just so… funny and sweet and cute….. It’s hard not to love him.”
“I’m sorry Lilly.” Miley said, putting an arm around my shoulder. “But it’s okay, just continue being friends with him.”
I nodded again, grabbed my skateboard out of my locker, and said goodbye to Miley. I walked out of the front doors to the school and once I had walked down the stairs, I jumped onto my board. Skidding down the sidewalk, I looked up at all the trees that I was passing. I guess I got kinda lost in my own world and didn’t see the boy standing in front of me, trying to get me to stop. I ran into him and fell on top of the guy with a thud. I stood up, noticing a cut on my right arm, and saw that I’d fallen on top of Nick.
“Oh my god.” I said, embarrassed. “I’m soooo sorry, that’s happening a lot isn’t it?”
Nick laughed, “Yeah, maybe we should get you a crash helmet.”
I giggled and grabbed my skateboard up once more. But just as I was about to get onto it, Nick stopped me.
“Whoa, you skateboard?” He asked, staring at my board.
“Yeah.” I nodded, “Why do you act so surprised?”
He shrugged. “Well, it’s just weird because I don’t skateboard but you do.”
I put my hands on my hips and raised my eyebrows at him. “What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked, a little annoyed at the comment he’d made.
“Nothing.” He said defensively, “It’s just…. Different, that’s all. I’ve never met a girl who could skateboard before.”
I put my hands off my hips, “Really? I thought you were saying that girls couldn’t skateboard as well as guys.”
He grinned deviously, “I never said they could skateboard as well as guys.”
“Oh really? I’ll have you know, Mr. Big shot, that girls are damn good at skating and that I could skate circles around you.” I said, stepping a little closer to him.
“You think?” He asked, cocking his head to one side. “Well then, let’s have a race to see who can get to your house faster. I’ll run, and you can skateboard. Deal?”
“You are so going down fro bro.” I said. “You’re on.”
“Alright, ready then?” He asked, lining up next to me. I nodded and he said, “Ready? Set? GO!”
I took off down the sidewalk, using my leg to push me further and faster. He was fast on his feet, I had to admit, but I was winning. I glided swiftly ahead of him, a smile on my face. In the distance, I could see my house and that only made me go faster. He was struggling to keep up now, and I was like a ball of energy. I skidded to a halt in front of my house and kicked my skateboard up into my hand.
“And that’s how we girls do it.” I said, walking up the pathway that led to my front door.
“Can I at least come in and get some water?” He asked, breathlessly. “You are an amazing skater.”
“Thank you.” I said, pushing open the door and pulling him inside. I led him into the kitchen and I pulled open the refrigerator. “Knock yourself out.” I said, motioning for him to take what he wanted. He nodded gratefully and took a bottle of water out, drinking it down quickly.
“You wanna come upstairs?” I asked, gesturing toward the stairway.
He nodded. “Sure.” And followed me upstairs to my room. I quietly pushed open the door and turned on the light. My room was a little messy, but that was pretty normal for a teenager’s room.
“This is your room?” He asked, looking around all over the place, “I like the color of the wall.”
“Me too.” I said, looking at the turquoise painted walls.
“Hey, is that a Gibson SG?” Nick asked, incredulously staring at my guitar.
“Yeah, it is.” I said, “My dad gave it to me for Christmas. I’ve been playing since I was 6 though.”
He walked over to my desk and picked up my song binder, opening it up to look at my lyrics. I rushed over and tried to pry it out of his hands, but he was stronger than me. His eyes skimmed over the first song, the one I’d shown Miley earlier and his eyes widened. “These are really good, Lilly.”
I blushed, “Thanks. I like writing songs, I wrote the music for it last night. Want to hear it?”
He nodded eagerly, “Totally.” So I grabbed p my guitar, sat down on my bed and started to strum a tune. He picked up the lyrics and sat down next to me, humming along to the music. I smiled and listened to his hum, my fingers playing a slow melody.
“Dude, start the song over, okay?” He asked. I nodded and started from the beginning. After a few seconds it happened: Nick started to sing, and he was singing along with my lyrics!
“Got the news today
But they said I had to stay
A little bit longer and I'd be fine
When I thought it'd all be done
When I thought it'd all been said

We finished the song and I had my mouth open wide. “Wow, you’re amazing!” I squealed. “That was beautiful, Nick. You could be a professional singer.”
“Thanks.” He said, looking at his watch. “Oh geez, I have to go, my mom’ll be wondering where I am.”
“Kay.” I said, getting up and walking to the front door with him. “I’ll see you tomorrow then?”
“Yeah, tomorrow.” Nick said, grinning at me, “Bye Lilly.”
“Bye!” I called after him as he walked away, down the sidewalk.
