listen to this song, i know they were all like she lets fame go to her head but this song leads you to believe something actually happens to Miley, something heavy(well heavy for disney). any one wanna guess? btw the song is called Mixed Up, its from the HM3 soundtrack. Miley's vocals are beautiful but it makes you wanna cry this song:

Well, they are letting Miley grow older in season three. Maybe they are trying to slowly transition the series to a slighty older audience. Late teens maybe....

Well, it's the disney channel so it can't be anything to do with criminal activity,sex or drugs. We can also rule out a death. All the episodes are basically freestanding, that is they do not depend on a several episode build up. A broken heart would require a several episode buildup. It has to be something that can be happily or comfortably resolved in one or two episodes at most. Or, maybe we are reading too much into it...

Song lyrics only tell you so much, to get the full picture you would have to see the episodes. Though it seems that the songs for season 3 are more about what happens in the show than the songs in previous seasons did.

Disney is trying to let the show grow up right along with the audience and probably try and draw in an already older crowd. If a show stands still people get bored; to keep people watching you need to change it once in a while.

yeah, they tapped the movie first but according to disney and Miley somethings gonna happen over the course of at least the first half of this season, whatevers happening is going to reach its climax or whatever in the beginning of the movie causing Robby Ray to bring Miley back home to Tennessee. Its a really great idea I think. this song has just thrown me off a little because its pretty heavy and honest for a disney song. it just makes you curious about what happens.

They also have to let the movie survive on its own though. The secret to a good movie based on a TV show is that you can watch it and understand the story without having watched the show. So they'll probably do a lead in but not that they'll continue the storyline in the movie. I'm thinking more in the direction of a character change throughout the season so fans won't see too big a difference between the show and the movie.

I think it might possibly be in the movie and not the show, because i read somewhere that some of the songs featured in the season 3 soundtrack will not be featured in the show but in the movie so maybe this is one of them. I'm just a girl is probably another one like that.

It sounds like there's a cataylst for why the fame gets to her head. I think something happens to her as Miley, and because of it, she withdraws into Hannah, embracing that lifestyle, and losing Miley in the process. Sort of a Jekyll and Hyde thing.

wow i never heard that theory . Yeah something probably traumatizes her or something really bad happens to her socially so Hannah is like her comfort food and she probably forgets her Miley life slower and slower. Since she is Hannah more often then she will be able to do more Hannah things there by making her even more famous and then fame probably becomes like an addiction and her dad realizes that and then takes her home.
