PROLOGUE.
-2 years earlier-
"Good luck, Lizzi!" The choir director at my school, Lakewood Middle School, whispered to me.
"And now, Lizzi Holland, singing 'Jesus, Take The Wheel" By Carrie Underwood!" The emcee, Katy Pratt, said from the stage.
I walked onto the stage from backstage, sitting on the stool and being blinded by the spotlight. The music started playing, and I sang, looking at the crowd.
All of my classmates had very surprised looks on their faces, some singing along, some waving their arms in the air. I saw my mom, front row, smiling. She was nearly in tears. It made me smile as I sang. I really got into it, based on the crowd's reaction. I kciked over my stool, reached out for the microphone, and sang my heart out.
The song ended, and I bowed with a huge smile on my face. Everyone clapped and cheered, and my fears flew off with my career.
Twenty minutes later, the results came in.
"The crowd has voted. And the winner of the Lakewood Idol is..." Katy began. She opened up the envolope. I jumped up and down, too nervous to sit still. "Lizzi Holland!" I ran onto the stage, and everyone cheered. My mom was crying with joy. I hugged Katy, then took my plastic trophy. Everyone cheered louder.
I walked backstage, and everyone congratulated me. A man in a blue suit came up to me.
"Lizzi Holland?" He asked.
"Yes sir."
"I am Robert Hicks, talent scout for Big Machine Records. You have an amazing voice for a middle school student. I was wondering if you were interested in coming to our office building and getting reviewed? I'm very sure our producers will love you. You could make hits!" He said.
I was overpowered with joy and excitment. "Of course! That is my dream! Thank you so much!" I reached out and took his card, which had a pre-written date set for our meeting and directions to their office building.
"See you there, then." He tipped his hat, and walked out the door.
I looked at the card, wondering how this was real or just a fairytale.

Chapter 1.
"10 minutes to showtime!" My manager called from outside my dressing room. It has been exactly two years since I got discovered today. This show was going to be the greatest show ever.
I threw on my black leather cowgirl boots. I was wearing my favorite dress; A knit blue dress that had was a v-neck. It was the comfiest thing ever; And it was the simplest, yet most gorgeous thing ever. My stylist ran a comb through my perfectly straightened hair that had crimped sections. I love crimped hair. And since this was a special day, I needed crimp.
"Lizzi, let me see you!" My grandma said as she knocked on the door. My stlist opened it up, and my grandma came in.
"I am so proud of you!" She embraced me in a hug. "So it's been two years since you got discovered?"
"Yup. I'm so excited!" I smiled hugely.
"5 minutes to showtime! Lizzi, we need you backstage," My manager called again. "My, you look mighty gorgeous."
"Thanks, Rob." Robert Hicks, the guy who had discovered me, had got promoted to a manager for Big Machine Records. I chose him, since he discovered me. My body guard, Willy, walked me out.
"Enjoy the show, grandma!" I blew her a kiss.
We arrived backstage, and music was playing on stage. "Thanks, Willy," I yelled. It was really loud.
I was very much amazed at how many people were here. I was told that this was a sold out concert. It seems like every person in Memphis came. 20,000 screaming fans awaited my voice out there.
I walked around the backstage, finding my family. We did our pre-concert ritual: We put our hand in, and screamed, "Raise It Up!" and we all high fived each oter and did the football rumble.
"Lizzi, come with me!" Robert yelled over the screaming fans. He led me to the place where I would enter from under the stage. The excitment started to roll over me.
Heput his finger up to his lips to shush everyone backstage. We all took our positions, and Rob held his hand in the air, counting down from three.
He put a microphone up to his mouth after counting down. The intro music from the band started to play.
"Put your hands in the air! Please welcome, LIZZI HOLLAND!" Robert screamed into the microphone. It echoed over the 20,000 screams. The floor beneath me started to rise, and I turned on my mic. I sprung from under the stage, and I looked out into the audience. The screams got even louder.
"How are ya'll doin' tonight?!" I yelled into my microphone.
The response was crazier than what I've ever seen.
"Great!!! Let's get this show on the road!" And with that, the great night began.
