alright, i know, it seems like a far stretch;
first considering that i don't even have a basic rough draft of the entire book,
just a little bit that i've written so far (but i'll be writing more once i get inspired)...
and second because i mean, honestly, how would a teenager get a book published?

that's why i'm asking you guys for help.
how would i get my book published?
i mean, do i need to get it professionally edited and get an agent or something?
or would i be able to get it edited (by whom, that's tbd), and send it to a publishing company or something?
really, i have no idea whatsoever.
so, i'd be very, verrry happy if you guys would try to help;
like, answer my questions or just tell me what you know x]
thanks! :D

It's not that far of a stretch...I've already signed on to get a book published...

First, get some stuff out there! If you live somewhere with a local scene get into it...find the little places that publish indie stuff, make freinds get conections, get things in small things, and work your way up...then hope someone is intersted in your style

That's how it kind of happened with me at least (as this is my chosen profesion I'm glad I started the poor artest foundation now rather then when I'm out of school and in need of money ^_^; )

OOH, that reminds me of a really good book, from when I was like, 9.
It's called "School Story."

But yeah, you send your stuff out.
To publishing companies, etc.
And if the editors or whoever like it, they'll send it back.
With corrections.
And if not, they trash it.
Uh....basically...

0-o have any of you people gotten anythign published...if you are completly unknown it'd take a VERY good consept to get many companys to look at it...it's a buseness, unless you are going very independent (such as iUniverse) it would very much help to get small things pubished so you have somethign to your name.

I'm not exactly sure but this is what I think:
Write lots of things, and send the copies to publishers and see if they like it. If they don't ask them for some constructive critcism. Also ask around in your town if you have a writers club, because you could get advice from other writers in your area. Maybe when your at school ask your english teacher if she knows any writing coaches. (people who you pay and they will coach you to get better at writing)
hope it helps =]

alright, i'll try some of that stuff...i might be able to find places like you explained.
i'm not quite sure, but i'll try x]
thanks!

my cousin got his book published through iUniverse.

oh i just looked that up on Google and it sounds amazing.
except...it costs $599 dollars...i mean, i'm sure if my parents knew how much i wanted it, they'd pay it...
and plus, it says it's more affordable than traditional publishing, so yeah.
again, thank you!

this all will help me sooo much.
and if (or when, if my parents allow me to do this) i do get my book published, i'll be sure to let you guys know the title and such for if (or when) it's in stores...cause that iUniverse thing is connected to Barnes & Noble ;]

I wish you the best of luck!
Just get your stuff out there,whether its sending things to publishing companys, local magazines, or just giving your teachers or friends something to read!
