So I was discussing in the Miley forum about how controlling Disney are.
I think they want all their prodigys to be so squeaky clean and perfect that they are not allowed to step a foot wrong.
I mean, I admire the fact that they are trying to make it seem that they are good role models to younger kids, but does turning them into a robot make them any better?
Nobody is perfect and Disney it trying to challenge that.
This is just an example here.
But are they so afraid that one of them may have a scandal like Miley's and then no more money for Disney?
If some of you have no idea what I'm talking about then think about it.
A good example is Jonas Brothers.
Have they ever discussed relationships?
NO.
They are not allowed to.
Bottling it all up.
What I think is that Disney needs to losen it's grip.
Demi, Selena...
I don't want them turning out to be robots.
They are talented people and should be allowed to have fun.

really, i don't think it's disney that much.
it's the insane fans, and press watching her every move.
Plus, it's NOT just disney. NO stars ever open{mostly} up about relationships.
Other than relationships and stuff, Miley got hacked, and the picks leaked,
I don't really think she could've controled that happening, thesides her not taking them.

i think its nick decision to not talk about there relationships, and joes.
They seem like private people when it comes to something like that. Dont blame disney. Jb doesnt owe us a explanation..
And we shouldnt care for one either.
its personal. Miley chose to talk about it, thats her decision, taylor chose to talk about it, her decision.
if it is disneys fault, then why would they let Miley say something? Miley wasnt the nicest about it, she told us ALOT. I highly doubt Nick jonas would of told us as much. So if she could say something, why not him? because he chose not too..
Disneys fine, it could be better. And i wish it was like it used to be .
I dont know just how controlling they are cuz i am not under contract with them.
but i think they do have a say.
And im perfectly fine with them trying to prevent a scandal. That means no hurt feelings.
but really, why do you say JB are bolting it up? just because they arent talking it out in public, doesnt mean they never got it out with anyone else, like parents or close friends..

yeah they want to keep disney clean, of course they do.
but they don't go overboard.
remmeber those nude vanessa pictures?
they didn't fire her because of them,
because it was only one mistake, and she's very talented, so they would be stupid to let her go.
and it's the jonas brothers choice to discuse their relationships not disney's.
they choose not to tell people about their relationships because they want their privacy, i would too if i were them too.

I do agree.
but...I mean no one knows what Disney tells their "stars" to say and not to say. For all we know it could be their decision not to tell anyone about their public life.

yeah they are.
come on.....they controll every single step they do.
that is probably one of the reason disney stars doesent are sucessful outside it.

Yeah, they are. I'd died if they even attempted that with me. Actually, I'd probably shout my mouth off, and I'd get fired.

You say that now, when you dont have to go through 'that'.
Who knows if it would be the same if you were really in that postition

In the Demi & Selena Show, Selena said she doesn't think Disney is too goody 2 shoes or anything. They say they love it and I'm sure they're happy to be in the Disney "family". I'm sure they just want the teens to get more money. Don't they make some money with Disney World and all?

i want to work at disney world for a summer. i don't think they will make me a robot for doing so... if i was acting with them, they might set some behavor guidelines for me to fallow. other than that idk.

Nah. I'm not willing to give up who I am for money and fame. I'm in that position in my life where I can actually say that. Alot of others aren't that way so I can see where you're coming from, but believe me, I'm not one of them.
Haha! Newyorkgirl, I think you're good! I went earlier this year, and I'm still the same. I think.

disney had no say over what comes out
of the stars mouths when it comes to personal
life. they choose to or not to talk about
relationships and stuff like that

Well of course they don't control the way they talk about personal stuff. I would be quite angry if they made me do that! Disney doesn't have a right to control them in that way.

Of course Disney is going to be like this. Okay, so I'm sure your older
right? And Disney is mostly for young kids. Maybe you just need to
upgrade to tv shows you would enjoy watching, because Disneys not
growing up. This is what they have done for years and the older people
want them to change but they wont. So its best you find a new station,
I did years ago. ;)

I concur, one thousand percent.
Not to mention, we can't judge anything, because none of us are apart of
the Disney community, nor are we friends with any of the "stars".

I'm not too sure who you're talking about, but, I'm only a tween and comfortable watching Disney, Nickaloaden (however you spell it), Keeping Up with the Kardashians, My Super Sweet 16, and Exiled (part of Sweet 16 show). I for one love Disney and I watch it everyday lol! Mostly because of Hannah Montana and some of the movies.

Well, seeing how Disney is a family company, I can see how they wouldn't want the Disney Channel Stars to do anything stupid.
That's all I'm gonna allow myself to say. D:

Disney isn't exactly what you'd call controllin'. They are just a bit goody over the top, and they act as if any Disney star aren't perfect then the world comes to its end. But obviously everyone's who in the DC Family doesn't have a problem with that. I mean I'm 11 years old, I watch CW and ABC and all that other stuff. I upgraded to other shows but I don't care if Disney's to goody. I like it that way, for now at least.

In the post she said that she thinks I might be too old. But I'm quite comfortable with Disney because I hate shows with cursing.
Wait . . . Disney isn't that controlling. I forgot how much they pretend they're gonna curse on the Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
Ex: "I'm gonna kick you're a-" "Period."
"Like my uncle from New York would say, you're a . . . *Blocks her out with car honks*.
There's 1 when they go to the S.S. Tipton and the mom's voice is blocked out with boat honk. I don't remember what she said though.

The only robots who work for Disney are The Country Bears and The Hall of Presidents. I'm sorry bad joke I couldn't resist.
It's an interesting topic. Often actors when they sign up with an agency or sign up for a show, this includes adults, they have morality clauses in their contract. If those clauses are broken they can lose their job or the agency can drop them.
ABC is owned by the same company as Disney. An adult actress who stars on a popular primetime ABC show for adults once made a comment in an interview she gave in a magazine about her personal life. ABC didn't like what she said and told her not to talk about that anymore. A male actor on another ABC show was moree or less fired after he said a bad word when he got into an arguement with another actor on the set.
ABC/Disney is kind of touchy about what their actors/actresses say in interviews and how they act on set. Sometimes they get a bit heavy handed about these things. Maybe more so than other studios.

Well those two things were and are quite different. The one from ABC said a racial slur and that was kind of pushing it. So I wouldn't be suprised about how they would fire him.

ABC has Dancing with the Stars right? If they do, they do nothing but talk dirty. You're barely allowed to say anything on Disney. Even if a star is negative about something, they make sure they say something positive. Did anyone notice when they showed the 7 Things vid on Disney they only put the beginning and then "The 7 things I like about you . . ." Then they put the ending. What in the world?? In every show they say hate so why does it matter in a music video? Disney may have some mental issues.

Disney may have some mental issues.
I think so lol
Disney are very over the top. Like when Vannessa's nude photo was hacked, Disney issued a statement saying that Vannessa had done something wrong which I found so offensive. I mean if anything Disney should have released a statment saying please show Vanessa respect during this brutal invasion of privacy or something but no instead they say it's her fault?? Since when is an 18yrold girl taking a private photo of herself a bad thing? They have a way of making teenagers feel like it's evil to grow up. Same goes with Miley.
And I find it extremely odd that every teenager Disney has hired, is very religous and vowed to stay pure. I wouldn't be suprised if this was one of the reasons why they were hired. Before seeing stars like Selena, Demi and Miley I had never known of a teenager that conserative or purity rings.
After having such stars in the past as Lindasy Lohan, Britney and Christina there obviously trying to make a reputation of themselves again about being goody goody. They're just trying to keep up a reputation.

I TOTALLY AGREE!
It isn't Disney.
It's the fans, the press.
It's not Disney who doesn't allow them too,
it's the fans.
Everything single mistake Miley makes,
it WILL come out in the news paper.
If Disney was the one,
by now,
I don't even think there will be HSM3 or the Hannah Montana movie.
Talking about personal life on TV,
who would want that?
I don't think it's because they are not allowed too,
it's because they don't want gossips.
I'm sorry if my opinion is wrong, after all, this IS just MY OPINION.

I think it's pressure from Disney's audiences and the stars' fans that sometimes makes Disney forced to perhaps try to prevent scandals, which is just a way of preventing tension between stars I guess.
Who knows though? None of us have a contract with Disney so they may be great or they may be awful. They could definitely be better, like I preferred old Disney that didn't overdo trying to get money from their stars, but everything isn't perfect.
