blend tut #1
featuring selena gomez
for gimp. most likely translatable.

we will be making this:

http://i38.tinypic.com/xf6utf.png

1. Get three pictures that you likee. I chose: one, (http://www.selena-fan.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=148&pos=2) two, (http://www.selena-fan.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=148&pos=3) and three. (http://www.selena-fan.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=148&pos=0)
2. Paste one picture in the canvas, and lower the opacity (open the layers using ctrl-l), like this. (http://i35.tinypic.com/wvvpub.jpg)
3. Repeat step 2, and make sure you make both of the pictures the same opacity.
4. Do a basic blend.
5. Paste your third picture onto the canvas like this. (http://i35.tinypic.com/2co6dsg.jpg)
6. Start erasing, or using the lasso tool to cut out the white background like this (http://i33.tinypic.com/jgqde9.jpg) until all of the color background is gone, and then go to Image-Flatten Image.
7. You can choose to do pixelization if your cutting skills suck. To pixelize, open a new document. It doesn't matter what size.
8. Take the lasso tool, and go around the places you want pixelized like this (http://i33.tinypic.com/2a54l2.jpg). Then copy and paste it into the new document.
9. Then in the new document, go to Filters-Blur-Pixelize. The bigger the boxes, the more blurry it is. I usually pick 5x5.
10. Repeat as needed.
11. Pick a color that matches it best. I picked 6b377c.
12. Take the rectangle select, and select the size of square you want for your text.
13. Right click on the box, and press edit, and fill with FG Color.
14. When you fill it, left click off the box, and it will be flattened.
15. Add the text that you want. I picked Pea Elizabeth.
16. Add textures, coloring, brushes, etc.
17. Post results!

coloring icon tut
featuring taylor momsen
for gimp. sorry guys, i'm at my dad's.

1. choose your picture. i chose this one. (http://taylor-momsen.net/pictures/displayimage.php?album=33&pos=15)
2. get a canvas of 100x100, and paste your picture on it.
3. resize your picture.
4. use the paths tool (it looks like a pen), and make sure polygonal is selected, cut your picture out.
5. click "selection from path", and click edit-copy.
6. before you paste it on the texture i'm going to give you, i'll do a coloring with you. go to colors-components-channel mixer. put this in:

red

red: 117
green: -19.3
blue: 7.4

green

red: -4.4
green: 105.2
blue: 4.4

blue

red: 7.4
green: -13.3
blue: 105.2

7. then go to colors-brightness-contrast and put this in:

brightness: 13
contrast: 15

8. ok, so you've got your cutting copied, right? so use this texture, (http://i37.tinypic.com/55qoag.png) and put it in a new 100x100 canvas.
9. paste your picture on top of the texture.
10. anchor layer.

and that's it!
pretty simple, huh?
