LOL i wonder if Stephanie is his daughter? Or maybe I'm just being dense. It would have been great if he'd done all the lyrics to the chorus, including the 'come on, turn it up' part :D

I wouldn't call that plagiarizism because the guy only said "Wake up America".

I love how Miley's name appears in all these articles about politics. I especially love the ones that suggest her for Barack's running mate. Heh. That would've been funny if the congressman was quoting the song.

Yeah just like "Fly on the wall". I've heard that everywhere before Miley made it into a song.

He didn't plagiarize her. That would be him telling them all the lyrics and giving Miley criedt for them. Wake Up America is an old saying. Miley just made a song about it. I wouldn't mind if he told the people that he agreed with her song though. That would have been cool.

LOL i wonder if Stephanie is his daughter? Or maybe I'm just being dense. It would have been great if he'd done all the lyrics to the chorus, including the 'come on, turn it up' part :D

Yeah I was waiting for him to dance around and while they where playing it. Stephanie might be his grandaughter or daughter or nease.

Does he even mension Miley?

No he doesn't. I wish he would have though.

Not really plagiarism. The phrase isn't copyrighted. Only the song. People say Wake up America all the time.

I'm sure people have said the term 'wake up America' even before we heard the song. I see no copying. I think Miley Cyrus would be the last thing on his mind, there are more important things right now than her.
Just an opinion.

The OP may have been attempting sarcasm? That was the impression i got anyway. And I still think it might have been a Miley reference, but a subtle one, so that whoever Stephanie is would be one of the few to notice. Or perhaps i'm just reading too much into things.
