just curious, how many of yuu think there's a differnce between dating, & being someones girlfrann?
obviously my mom does.
she says i can date, but i can't have a boyfrand.. XD
soo yeaa.
say if yuu think or not, & what the differnce is in yuur opinion. =]
lots of people think if yuur dating someone, he's yuur boyfrann.
or if yuu become someone's girlfrannd, yuur dating them.
or, dating is totally seperate, it's a stage to see whether yuur compatible or not.
so JA. tell meh. =)

well maybe the first time you go on a date with someone, they aren't really your boyfriend because you haven't gotten to know them that well yet and you're just seeing if dating them would work. but if you keep going out, then its pretty much the same thing, so i dont see the difference really

one is going on dates...and the other is a boy named frann (short for Frand)
off the topic of me being a bit delibarate misspelling nazi, the differnce is one is going on a date...hence dating which you can do without being the girlfriend of someone as it can be completly casual and often times is and the other is having a boyfriend which is traditionaly has comitment involved but this word is thrown around quite often despite there being nothing serius.....to get around this lack of boyfriend rule, become a lesbian and get a girlfriend (kidding...unless you agree with me.)

I think there's definitely a difference.
Like you can go on dates with several different guys, but you're not necessarily committed to one. If you go on a date with him, and you guys are "dating", you guys aren't officially together and you can date other guys as well if you want to.
Having a boyfriend means that you guys spend a lot of time together, and it's not just going places. As far as I'm concerned, dating just means going to dinner and movies and stuff, where as while someone is your boyfriend they might go over to your house and you might go over to theirs a lot, you know?

In my opinion I think it's different.
You could be dating someone, but not officially together.
It's hard for me to explain I just think they are both different but not in a major way.

boyfriend = exclusive
dating = you can date multiple people at the same time
imo

I think your mom just doesn't want you to have anything serious... she will allow you to have fun, but prolly nothing exclusive.

In my opinion, dating is just going on dates. You havent decided to become boy friend/girlfriend and your just trying to get to know eachother by going on dates.
BUT when you are 'together', you can still go on dates. Which qualifies as dating.
So i guess it means both.
But really, when someone [lets says a girl,]- is going on another date with a guy and tells her friends, usually the girl doesnt say IM DATING HIM!! She says "im going on another date"
and another thing is, girls and guys , when they really are JUST dating, they slip in the 'as friends'.
thats the difference, then again, there is really no difference.
Depends on the person

to me:
dating-testing the waters, maybe hang out with 2 different boys but not in the make out sluttish kind of way.
boyfriend-exclusive relationship with only you two (no cheating :P)

dating - dates, nothing more, can build up to something but for the most part is only seeing if this person is right and you have freedom to date others
boyfriend - exlusive. no one elce.

urm
i think there's a difference
I think dating someone is just dating someone
like saying "oh I'm dating them"
but being someone's bf or gf is committment.
its like a step lower from being married.
something like that. :D
