cell phone help?

okay so I just got a new phone, the samsung glyde.
I absolutely HATE it and it's making me mental.
I have a 30 day period in which I can return it and get a different phone.
I like some of the features on it like the qwerty keyboard and the 2 megapixel camera, but the touch screen is seriously annoying me and it's just not designed very well.
My dad pretty much forced me into getting it because it's the "latest and greatest" even though I told him about 50 times that I don't like touch screens.
I think us arguing about it drove the verizon sales lady crazy :P
So, I'm wondering if any of you guys have the same phone and can give me any tips on it or if there are better similar phones out there (without a touch screen!) that you can recommend.

i have that fone... and actually i really like it. a lot.
you should just tell your dad that you really dont like it,
and you want to get another phone.. what did you need help with?

Well yeah if I don't like it then I can get another one after a few days.
I was just wondering if people that had it had tips on how to make it work better or if they could recommend other similar phones.

NUMBER 1 TIP: Don't get a Sidekick. Any kind. I've had friends who've had cases where their Sidekick almost broke. x[ Not good.

Yeah I wouldn't get the sidekick anyhow cause I have verizon service and that's t-mobile.
This phone is making me so crazy....I'm probably going to return it tommorrow :P

the new env2 is slimmer and cooler than the old one. I don't think It has a touch screen?
I could be wrong though, I just don't think it does.

I want one that has a qwerty keyboard but there aren't a lot of options with that...but it doesn't really matter, if I can find a good normal one that then that's okay too. I guess I'd prefer a flip phone though it doesn't really matter, basically I just really DON'T want a touch screen.

Hmm I heard complaints about it that you can't read text messages from the front and do most of the stuff from the front...but it looks better than the one that I have and I think it's what I want but idk.
(and no it doesn't have a touch screen)

I just got a touchscreen phone too, and the trick, if you haven't done it yet, is to calibrate the touchscreen (should be in the menu under settings, and then go down to touch settings, or at least it's that way one the Dare) And then all you have to do is touch the little things that pop up pretty accurately and that might make the screen respond better, if you haven't done this already. When i first got mine, the touchscreen was really inaccurate, but after that, I had no problems with it. Just thought I might throw that idea out...

Flip phones can break. Some break more easily than others, though.
Slider phones usually come with a little hump below the screen, where you can support your push whenever you push it up to make it slide open, so right there, you have a better chance of your cellular not breaking. =]

I'm not really concerned about the flip versus slide thing because I had a flip phone for the past two years and it still works fine.

The reason that I got a new phone is because my mom broke her phone and she got my old one and I got a new one.

And meditry- mine doesn't have a calibration option, I looked long and hard for it lol.

my friend just got a new phone with a qwerty keyboard and no touch screen that looks pretty good, but i don't think its verizon.

yeah its the LG KF700. she likes it, but its LG, not verizon.

Actually...my uncle was at best buy looking at the verizon phones and he said that the salesguy told him not to get any slider phones because they break easier..my uncle told me he could tell cuz they had the glyde there and it was broke because so many people were messin with the display..
