i'll start one fanfiction, a week later. another one pops up.

let's start out with...

introdution/prolouge?
The better things in life always come to me as completely horrible.
For example.
Today was supposed to be a better day than most.
Why you ask?
Because, on this day, every other seventeen year old girl in the world got to be released from their studies to enjoy the summer time.
But for me, I sat in my Cultural class, awaiting my summer homework.
Do you see what I’m getting at?
Each student got a different assignment at the end of Year 11.
I sighed, waiting for Mrs. Jan to hand me my papers.
“Ms. Karr.” She said my name, her scratchy voice echoing through the silent class room.
I hoped I would get something like ‘volunteer work’ at the zoo.
I honestly would rather shovel kangaroo dung than-
“You’re kidding me?!?” I exclaimed, making eye contact with Mrs. Jan.
I turned to my best friend, Lynn.
“Switch Me.”
“No switching, Ms. Karr."
I sighed, laying my head on my desk.
Did I really have to talk to some stranger from America all summer?
And really, what kind of name is ‘Joseph’ anyways?

chapter1.
“Zoriii!” the high pitched call of my name rang out through the halls of my school.
Taylor Halen and Alexa (better known as Lex) Reynolds came up to me and Lynn, smothering us in hugs.
“School is finally over!” Taylor screamed, jumping up and down.
I laughed at my two chaotic friends but then frowned when I remember my homework.
“Ugh.” I sighed.
“What’d you get?” All three of my friends asked, robotically.
“Pen Pal. I have to talk to some kid named ‘Joseph’ the entire summer.” I mumbled.
Lex spit out past of the banana she was eating.
“I know a Joseph.”
“Well. Lex, dear. Joseph is a very common name in America.” Taylor turned to me.
“He’s American, right?”
I nodded.
Lynn told us that she got the assignment I’d wanted.
“No fair. You get to shovel dung while I’m…” I shuddered.
Lex shook her head.
“I take it you hate new people?”
“If I hated new people, you wouldn’t be here. I hate talking to people I don’t know.”
She nodded her head in understandment.
We walked out of school and climbed into my jeep.
Taylor sat next to me.
“No no. Tay, if you sit next to me. I’ll run over a kangaroo.”
She looked confused.
“Your distracting, mate.”
She shrugged her shoulders.
“Whatever you say, Zori.”
Lynn moved to the front.
We drove the whole half hour to our homes, me dropping each one of them.
I pulled up into the land that my auntie owned.
I lived with my mom, my aunt Terri, and my cousin, Bindi.
Bindi Irwin.
I was the niece of the great , Steve Irwin.
But let’s not tell anyone, yeah?
I parked right outside of the zoo and went to find my mom.
“Mum.” I called out, walking the grounds of the Australian Zoo.
I would never find her just calling her.
I mean, have you seen this place?
It’s huge.
I saw Bindi feeding the monkeys.
“Hey Bindi!” I called.
She turned to me.
“Zori!” She ran up to me and hugged my legs.
As she was still pretty short.
“Hey. Tell Aunt Karri I went to go do some homework if you see her, yeah?”
She nodded and gave me one last hug, before running back to the hungry monkeys.
I walked for about 5 minutes before reaching the house.
I walked up the massive stairs to the room I shared with Bindi.
I sat at the computer, opening up my email.
Maybe Pen Pal guy sent me something.
I scrolled through the Zoo Updates Aunt Terri sends me every few hours, the chain letters from my friends.
And finally say something from a name I didn’t know.
Joe Superman?
Isn’t Superman that…American carton person? Who can…what? Shoot bacon out of his eyes or something?
I rolled my eyes and opened it, revealing a long letter, filled with questions.
Questions I’d have to answer.
And so it begins.

He’s so joking, right?
I sighed, thinking to myself.
I guess I have to reply, don’t I?
I pressed the very small ‘REPLY’ button and was about to type out my message when my cellphone rang, jinggling out the chorus of my favorite song, Australia.
A coincidence, I think not.
“Ello?” I asked, my ‘cute’ accent ringing out through my empty house.
“Hi.” Lex said, a smile in her voice.
“What’s up?” I asked, knowing we’d go through our usual conversation about absolutely pointless things.
“Nothing, three waying with…everyone else.”
I heard a click and then a mound of voices piled out of my phone.
“So this is a…5 way?” I asked, laughing at my friends.
I heard mumbles of ‘yes’ and ‘uh-huh’ and then was asked the one question I really didn’t want to be.
“Did he email you?” My friends said in unison.
I groaned.
They all started talking right away, knowing he did.
“Guys. I got to go! Bye!”
I closed my phone.

joe's pov.

I re-read Zori’s emai a million times before even coming close to knowing what I wanted to say to her.
I sighed and leaned back in my chair.
I heard a soft knock at my door.
I turned and saw Kevin.
“Hey.” I said.
“You talking to that Australian chick?” He asked, smiling.
“I was about to reply.”
I turned back and drummed my fingers on the keyboard, making a random stream of letters on the screen.
“I wouldn’t.”
Brothers were always a bother.
“And why wouldn’t you?” I asked, not looking at him.
“She seems kind of…obnoxious.”
I turned around slowly and gaped at him.
“You’ve been reading my email.”
He smiled.
“It’s the big brother thing to do.”
I rolled my eyes.
“Go away, Kevin.”
He got up to leave.
“By the way, Allison is here.”
I sighed.
Allison Richards was my best friend.
And she was defiantly going to want to be in on my summer homework.
This means, getting Zori’s info, and emailing her constantly.
She’d want to be her friend.
Wonderful.
“Heyy Joe.” Her girl-ish voice rang out through my room.
“Hey Al.” I said, standing up and giving her a hug.
She sat on my computer chair and stared at the screen.
Here we go.
“Who’s…Zorianna?” She asked.
“My pen pal from Australia.”
She nodded her head, continuing to stare.
A light bulb went off in her head.
“Since when do you have a pen pal?”
“Since yesterday when I got summer homework.”
She spun around, her light brown bangs moving swiftly to the side.
“Summer homework?” She spat, as if it was poison.
I nodded, rolling my eyes.
“Ouch. Good luck with that.”
She turned back to read the email.
“Geez. Someone obviously woke up on the wrong side of her kangaroo cage.”
I looked at her, confusion showing my eyes.
“Kangaroo cage…she works at the Aussie Zoo, Joe.”
I was lost.
“Ugh. Never mind. You’re an idiot.”
“Well sorry.” I said.
“Ohmigawd. Let me reply to her.”
“What? Are you crazy? No!”
I jumped and grabbed the keyboard, holding above my head.
“You’d better be glad I can’t reach that.” She said, crossing her arms.
I let the keyboard drop a little.
“Why?”
She jumped as high as she could and grabbed it, knocking the both of us over.
She was laying on top of me, the keyboard laying on my chest, typing rapidly.
I rolled my eyes.
“Fine. Reply.
She smirked and continued.
I saw Nick walk past my door, talking on his cell phone.
He looked at me and then kept walking.
Then I saw him slowly walk backwards to look closer at us.
His eyes were fixed in confusion.
I pointed my finger to Allison, who still hadn’t moved.
I heard talking through the other side of the phone.

He snapped back into reality.
“Oh. Sorry Lex, Joe was…doing strange things again. I got distracted.
Lex? Aussie Lex? Our best friend?
“Yo. Nick, lemme talk to her.” I said, pushing Allison off.
“Hey. Lex. Wanna talk to Joe?”
He held the phone away from his ear as she screamed ‘Yes’.
I laughed. Same Lex.
He tossed the phone to me.
“Lex! Hey! What’s up?!” I said, excited.
“Hi Joke. Nothing much. Hanging around my friend Zori’s house until she’s done obsessing over this pen pal person of hers. What’s up with you?”
“Same here. Allison just came over, She’s replying to my…Did you say Zori?”
“Yeah. Cool name huh?”
“Uhh. Yeah. She’s obsessing over...did you say a ‘pen pal’?
“Oh yeah. We all got these summer assignments and she’s stuck talking to this guy in America. She’s not exactly happy about it.”
“Oh.” My voice dropped.
“Why isn’t she?”
“Cause, she doesn’t know who he is. Haha. His name is Joe too. I tried to convince her it was you but, what would be the odds of that?”
I laughed nervously.
“Yeah. One in a million.”
“I mean, what are the odds my Australian best friend and my American Best friend would end up being pen pals?”
“Oh yeah. That’s insane.”
“I mean, Joe. You’re...Joe. Of the infamous Jonas Brothers.”
I heard another voice.
“YOU KNOW HIM?”
I was guessing that was Zori.
Her voice was so pretty. Though she was screaming.
“Yeah Yeah, Zor. I know him. Oh. Your computer pinged. I bet he replied.”
Oh no. Allison replied.
“It’s sent Joe. Your obnoxious little dung picker upper now got a wonderful email from Joe Jonas. A.K.A Allison Richards.”
Allison sent it?!?!?! NOO.
“Hey Joe, I gotta go. Zori is like..hyperventilating over here. Talk to you later!”
She had a tint of ‘wanting to talk to me later’ in her voice.
When was she going to figure out everyone knew she liked me?
“Kay. Bye Lex.”
I hung up the phone.
“What did you send to her?” I Asked, immediately, staring Allison down.
“Hopefully something you wont kill me over?”
I nodded, my teeth clenched.
“I hope that too.”
I pushed her from the computer and read her email.
“ALLISON. YOU MADE ME SOUND ALL FEMIININE! THESE ARE YOUR ANSWERS!”
She laughed as I chased her around the house.

I stared at the screen, breathing heavily, trying not to laugh hysterically.
Lex was standing behind me, talking on the phone to the ‘Joe’ she thought I had been talking to.
Turns out, that Joe, was Joe Jonas.
Awesome, righ’?
I mean, he’s only the cutest, most amazing, heaven-like-voice, person on the planet.
And Lex knew him.
By the tone in her voice, she so loved him.
Suddenly, I burst.
I couldn’t contain my laughter any longer.
The contents of this message, we far to feminine for someone who says their name is ‘Superman’
I slowly slid out of the seat and onto the hardwood floor.
Lex had hung up her phone and began to read the email, soon joining me in my laughter.
“Wait a second.” She said, holding her hand out.
I ceased my giggles when I saw the serious look on her face.
“My Joe has a best friend Allison. And...she loves...all these things.”
Her face twisted into confusion.
“It’s a coincidence, mate. I’m not talking to Joe Jonas. End of story.” I said, exiting out and deciding to reply later.
She shook her head.
“Okay. You’re not. Though, on the phone. He did sound interested in you…”
My eyes lit up.
“You’re pulling my tail.”
“Nope.”
I gasped, jumping up.
“No way!”
The next half hour was filled with screaming about Joe Jonas, and how he was ‘interested’.
And calling all the girls, for a giant sleepover for summer vacation.
