Help with gimp

could someone plz tell me how to put the texture as the background of a pic? Thanks

What I do is copy and paste
the texture on top of your pictures, and
put up your layers box. [CTRL>L]
Mess around with different
modes like screen, softlight,
it all depends on the texture.
Than if you have to lower the opacity
of it, and erase parts around the face. ;)
