i'm sure he, Miley and Tish have talked/dealt with this at home. hes in a difficult situtation, I doubt hes too happy about whats been going on lately but he can't really say that publicly because that will only makes things worse for Miley.
He did the best he could with the situtation hes in.

I think he did what he could. If he said too much, the whole thing would've started up again, and it seems to be dying down. By not being specific, he didn't allow the controversy to come back, which would only hurt Miley.

Yeah, that much was obvious. He seemed really uncomfortable and twitchy. There must be so many things going through his head. People making all these judgments and assumptions about his relationship with his daughter, people calling her all sorts of horrid things, etc. I'm sure the stuff said about her hurts him more than the stuff said about him.

Billy Ray definitely didn't want to get too specific which is reasonable. I'm sure this is hurting him a lot he warned everybody before they moved to LA this is part of the being famous. He has been criticized for years before he was famous and since he became famous so he can completely understand. I agree it is great for them to be in Nashville more a relax less analyzed for every move they make.

Have we ever seen him cry before? Did he cry in Home at Last? It's got to be hard, to watch all this going on around him. Knowing people are stalking her(paparazzi), knowing that people are calling her rephrensible names, knowing the real her, and being unable to do anything to change the perception. Nothing will ever make me believe that he's using her, or sees her as a meal ticket. He was a parent first.

I don't remember seeing him cry in Home at Last, but he was choking up a little when he was talking about Miley, Noah, and Braison, (especially Miley) in the episode where it's Miley's birthday. I love that episode. :) I definitely think that Nashville will do Miley some good, thank god she wasn't in L.A. when this whole controversy exploded.
