lol, i don't believe this or at least I'd like not to believe this. anyways its from Star Magazine, consider the source. and even if it is true we know how religious Miley is and would never do this. I knew magazines would start saying this when the two of them started working together.:
http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2008/05/_the_morning_after_23.html
Xenu has a job for John Travolta: Recruit Miley Cyrus into Scientology. (http://www.popcrunch.com/miley-cyrus-scientology-recruit-john-travolta-miley-cyrus-scientology-recruiting/) Star magazine reports that the second-most-famous Scientologist was ordered to bring the popster and her fortune into the fold. Not only would her money be most welcome, but so would the fans who follow her. Note to Billy Ray: If Miley starts jumping on couches or talking about how the world needs her (http://gawker.com/5002269/the-cruise-indoctrination-video-scientology-tried-to-suppress)to "bring peace and unite cultures," get a deprogrammer, stat!
Scientology is a business, and they could use someone like her to sucker in the youth.

I realize that but wouldn't they try and get someone who really doesn't have a religion, not someone who is very religious. It doesn't make sense to me, it seems it would be a waste of time trying to get Miley to switch, she loves her religion and would never change it.
plus you can't convert your religion without a parents permission until your 18 and we all know that even if Miley wanted to there is no way Billy Ray and Tish are letting her.
The thing is, they're not losing anything trying to get her, and the potential reward is that great.

more from star magazine:
A Cyrus family pal dishes to the magazine, "I would be awfully wary of John and his Scientologist friends. Although Miley and her dad, Billy Ray, are celebrities, they are still star-struck when meeting someone like John."
Should Miley abandon her church, the Montrose Church in the Sand Fernando Valley, for the religion started by author L. Ron Hubbard, it "would be an enormous coup for Scientology," says an insider. "She's huge - so young and influential - that her becoming a member would be the biggest thing to happen to the church since Tom Cruise joined."
http://www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_272620763.shtml
it would never happen, IMO.
Amandinha

IMO it won't happen either.
Scientology is NOT a religion. Its followers are mostly just cynical and using it as a medium through which they can lampoon religion, and everyone else just likes Tom or John Travolta. It's a business. They charge their own members for information about themselves, and just use it so they can maintain tax-exempt status. No one actually believes anything about it, including Travolta.

lol @ John Travolta. Have fun trying to "convert" Miley xD. It would be like the pope himself joins this dumb society. Miley is definitely not one of those persons who are vulnerable for Scientology.
She's very happy with her religion, so why would she change it?
Man, it would be so exciting listening to the conversation between Travolta and Miley...

In Europe Scientology is seen as a cult, in countries like Germany it's even illegal. John is a member of it but he doesn't seem like the recruiting type like Tom Cruise. He seems fully aware that he has to be careful with it, studios are hesitant to work with open Scientologists like Cruise. Only the gossip press is reporting on it anyway, it's only an animate feature after all. It requires less contact than a live feature so he doesn't really have a chance of converting her. That's besides the fact that they go after people that are uncertain about things in life. Seeing Miley has a strong faith she's not really their kind of target. I highly doubt she would be open to it anyway. Also she isn't insane which is a requirement to join Scientology.

Yeah, I also think that Travolta isn't the kind of guy, who's recruting people. It's most probabaly just another made-up story by gossip sites.
And Scientology isn't quite illegal in Germany, it's "just" observed by the "Verfassungsschutz", the German version of the "Office for the Protection of the Constitution".
And another thing: Scientology isn't quite as big as they claim to be. I mean, there are only 4 celebs I know who are members of it (Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, John Travolta & Leah Remini), so it's not some kind of cult who's attractive for celebs.

Scientology= fake religion made by a sub-par sci-fi writer (please go to south park for a better sum up...)

Yikes. Travolta is definitely not one of the crazy ones, now if Miley was working with Tom Cruise, she should run like heck. It wouldn't surprise me if the cult(that's what I call it) would be stupid enough to try and recruit her. I forsee a scene similar to the one in "A Clockwork Orange." I mean I think it's bogus, but I wouldn't be surprised if Scientology actually had its eye on her. She's very influential.

how come it's a religion? :S you know what science is? well sciencetology is kind of the same thing...just say it that way to make it sound like a job o something,ok i didn't mean it the way i said it...it's hard to explain. however i know it's not a religion!
it's like when people don't believe in god(that god created the world and stuff like that), they believe in science....and in this case miley believes in god so why would she be intrested in sciencetology?

To a lot of people, scientology is a cult. If the rumours are actually true, it's a dang scary cult too. Brain washing, and what not. For example, there are rumours that Tom Cruise had a variety of candidates to be his wife, and he was turned down by Jessica Alba and Scarlet Johannsen. Again, rumours. But scientology can be pretty scary. However, John is not a wacko like some of the other ones. If he didn't try to recruit Zac Efron or Nicki Blonsky or anyone like that, I think Miley is safe.

I don't think for a nano second that Miley would be interested in scientology, but you know, brain washing is a very powerful tool.;)
I'm kidding, they don't do that. Well, maybe they do, but John wouldn't do that.

In the article on the first page, it said "Xenu has ordered John..." Who's Xenu? Scientology scares the ever loving crap out of me. I think some really do believe it(Tom Cruise). I know Miley and her family wouldn't be taken in by that bogus crap though. Plus, John isn't a whack-job. Or if he is, he's better at hiding it.
Just looked up Xenu on wikipedia. Wow, just, wow. People can't actually believe that. I mean it raises the question why is it not crazy to believe in God, but it's crazy to believe in Scientology? Answer, I don't have one. But I'm sticking by it that Scientology is a cult.

05-30-2008, 12:12 AM
there's no need for miley to join that cult, she is a smart girl.
Yero34
05-30-2008, 12:16 AM
Yeah, that's why they use brain washing. Because people are too smart to fall for it. Katie Holmes was a full fledged Catholic, until she got involved with Tom. They can be very persuasive. It would not surprise me if the people in charge wanted Miley in the fold. The thought of it makes me shudder. Everyone wants a piece of the kid. It's getting pretty scary. How many different directions can a person be pulled in?
Ashleytisfan
05-30-2008, 01:48 AM
Tom Cruise ( yes) John I don't think so.
Yero34
05-30-2008, 02:06 AM
I think John is pretty high up in the organization, he is the second most famous one after Tom. If he's as crazy as Tom, he's better at hiding it. Note to Billy Ray, if John invites Miley to dinner, get a restraining order. An invite to dinner from a scientologist is a short trip to a brain washing facility.
Wow, just read about scientology on wikipedia. Wow. I can feel my skin actually crawling.

The part about wanting her in scientology is probably not a joke. The part where people should be freaked out that she might join, is a joke. Her family is way too rooted in Christian beliefs to cross over. Could you imagine the look on Miley's face when John or some other scientologist tells her that Jesus is a figment of our imagination. Dang I'd kill to be a fly on the wall just to see her face. But if they were seriously considering recruiting her, I would not be surprised. They don't have any young celebrities in the fold, and if they got her, they would get a huge youth following, which they don't have.
Travolta is Tom Cruise's wingman.
Yero34
05-30-2008, 02:24 PM
I've heard things that John is on the lower wrungs of the cult, while Tom is the highest member or something like that. To get into the higher ranks, or to complete his training, John needs to recruit a big score for the cult. Tom Cruise just got Will Smith. Even though it came from Star, it makes a lot of sense. John is one of the most famous scientology celebrities, but he hasn't recruited anyone in years. I hope Billy Ray and Tish learn from the VF debacle.

05-30-2008, 02:28 PM
for some reason I seem to get the impression that Miley is actually more religious then her parents. Not that they'd let her convert anyways, but I just don't ever see Miley wanting to. She loves christianity too much.
Yero34
05-30-2008, 02:32 PM
I think she's just more enamoured by it, whereas Billy Ray seems to have settled into it comfortably. I think it's about equal. Miley just seems so into the whole religion thing. She loves Jesus, she makes youtube videos for Jesus, etc. She believes Jesus died so that we could live. She's so not going to be taken in by scientology. I wonder how they got Will Smith. Poor Will. But they're not going to get her.
Scientology tries to trick you into thinking you can be more than one religion, but that's a bold faced lie. I said Travolta wasn't one of the crazy ones, but if he really believes the teachings, then maybe, he is. Cruise is the craziest no doubt, but maybe John just hides it better. Miley loves Jesus, I think we all know that, she won't be taken in by scientology for two seconds. They got Katie Holmes, but that's probably because she had been in love with Tom since she was eight. So unless Miley is in love with Travolta, I think she's safe.

05-30-2008, 04:31 PM
Wow, Thats sounds so fake!! But if they ever did ask her her family and her would say no for sure.
Yero34
05-30-2008, 04:35 PM
It sounds ludicrous, but given what Scientology is about, it's actually not. It's either a scam, or a cult, or both. They go after people with big bank accounts, and big influences. It's a "religion" based on the teachings of a science fiction novel. I think you'd have to be a little bit crazy to be one, or easily manipulated. If you've got strong faith, I don't think you can be taken in by it. Miley's all about Jesus, if anything, she'll try and Johnny boy to be a Christian. lol.
flutesinger262
05-30-2008, 04:41 PM
also whoever came up with this is also forgetting that Miley and her family have known John for awhile now. Its not like they just met while working on Bolt. They knew eachother before this.
Yero34
05-30-2008, 04:44 PM
I don't know if that makes it better, or worse. The higher up celebrities are ordered to bring in new ones, which in turn, allows them to climb the ladder. It's bizarre, and out there, but then again, so is Scientology. I don't think John himself has actively courted her, but I do think Scientology has an interest in here. They don't have any younger celebrities, all their celebrities are older. I'm all about religious freedom, but the stuff I've read about scientology just makes my skin crawl. I definitely think it's a cult.

If Miley Cyrus became part of Scientology I would rip my eyes out, and it would be a seriously bad move for her.

Guys, she'd never do it. I've never seen a celebrity child be so passionate about their beliefs. Do you really think she's going to be all "Scientology, raw raw raw" when Johnny or someone tells her that Jesus is a figment of our imagination? Scientology is a big brain washing thing. There's an actor out there right now, fighting furiously to expose it for what it really is. You shouldn't worry about Miley joining, you should be worried about the probability of scientology wanting to get her in their clutches. There's no way she'd do it out of free will.

That's the thing, if your faith is strong, you probably can't be swayed. Miley is young, and can be a bit naive(VF), but one thing that is steadfast, is her belief in God. She'd never go into Scientology willingly. I steadfastly believe that. Nor would Billy Ray let her anywhere near it. Scientology is not only ridiculous, it's also dangerous. These people have stolen government documents, they've held people against their will and brain washed them, they've threatened people if they try to leave, and I'm pretty sure they've resorted to murder, etc. Star Magazine is usually a load of crap, but then again, so is the Church of Scientology. An important distinction. Scientology in itself, though strange, should not be knocked. The Church is the thing that people should be wary of. It doesn't sound all that different from the mafia, tactically speaking.

tru tru, but if you look at all religions it's all about power and money and no other relgion have cost more human life then Christianity. in my eyes all religion are bad. that's why i am a atheist. but i still support miley for beliving in what she belives in.
off topic: scientology have some similarity with islam.

I'm a Christian, but I'm not pious about it. To each their own. It's the tactics that are the crux. I got no problem if people want to believe in aliens and all that. It's when things like theft, kidnapping, murder, etc, come into play that I get a little wary. There's extremists in every religion. It's not just scientology, and it's not just Christianity. I know that some Christians will kill, Muslims will kill, etc. It's a really touchy subject. I don't think one religion is better than another. They're all so different, and yet, the same. Scientology in itself, is not a bad thing, and probably not much different from the basic ideas of the more popular religions. But again, the Church/organization, is the thing that scares me. It sounds a lot like the mafia. They need celebrities to fund it, they feed off them. Star is a load of crap, but maybe not this time. Two years ago, Miley wasn't that famous. But look at her now.

i agree in most of what you are saying. i respect that other people need somthing to belive in. religion has saved a lot of life in the history also. what i have rad about the scientolgy i agree that they have a sort of mafia buisness, like the italian mafia kill some people friday and goes to churc like nothing have happend sunday:lol:. back to topic i actually like John travolta as a actor and i belive that he dont even will try do recruting her. so long Miley don't become friends with crazy tom i think she will be fine.

I like John too. If he's as crazy as Tom seems to be, he hides it better. John's got some questionable stuff to his credit too. Something about hiding his son's autism. I don't know. Basically anything to do with the Church of Scientology freaks me out. There's no concrete proof that they want Miley, I admit that. But it would not surprise me if they did. They're a dying organization, and all their celebrities are much older. They don't have a youth following from what I can tell. So logically, even if Star is just trying to stir the pot, the idea is actually not so ludicrous, though I wish it were.

Lol. Yeah, she definitely would never do it. It's probably better that she's younger anyway. One time where that might prove to be an assett. She's so enamoured and passionate about God(Or in her case, Jesus), that if someone tried to tell her that neither existed, she'd probably kick them in the groin. Can you imagine this?
Miley: So, what's this scientology thing about?
John: Well basically, we're actually really a bunch of aliens, and our souls glommed onto caveman, oh, and Jesus is a figment of our imagination. He's also a pedophile.
Miley: *jaw hanging open*
Jason Lee, Will Smith(possibly), Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Leah Remini, Jenna Elfman, Kirstie Alley, etc. John's been practicing since 1975. Tom didn't start 'till 1990. Maybe John is higher up than Cruise. I don't know the rankings go, but I hear you have to bring in someone huge in order to get to the next level or something. Tom has possibly gotten Will Smith.

lol could be fun to be a fly on the wall under that talk.
but Miley is young, i just hope Billy ray or This dont let the scientolgy people talk to her alone. a young mind is quit easy to manipulate.
i dont think i will stop watching Will Smith movies even if he is a scientolgy member. he is a brilliant actor.
Yero34
05-31-2008, 06:27 PM
I don't think Billy Ray would let her go anywhere alone with Travolta, I think he learned his lesson with VF. But really, I don't think Miley would be taken in by it at all, no matter how hard they tried. Like I said, it might be less easy to manipulate a young mind in this case. It's almost the opposite of the Vanity Fair debacle. They used her naivete about sexuality and art to get her to do it. But she's not naive about religion. She's incredibly strong willed on the subject. Basically any time a famous person works with a scientologist, the media jumps on the chance to ridicule the scientologist, but statistically, they might be onto something. If they do want her, they shouldn't even bother. She's naive, but she loves her Jesus. Take that from her, and she'll rip your head right off.
miley_is_the_best
05-31-2008, 06:45 PM
yeah i agree. She really loves Jesus, and Miley is a girl that can think by her self and she have great morals. and the vf thing i almost cried when i sow the heavy criticism she got about it, poor girl.
Miley Cyrus and Scientolgy will never happen.

05-31-2008, 06:51 PM
Yeah, I think she's a good kid. Not perfect of course, but why would we want her to be? Her faith seems very much genuine, and not a publicity thing. I just can't see her buying into this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRe0e-Vr0-U
It's actually true, even though it's South Park. This is what they believe. Scientology(the Church) has a really colorful history of criminal activity. People have died becase treatments have been withheld, they cut you off from your family. It's really terrifying, if true. Billy Ray better keep a close eye on Miley for the duration that she's working with John. You just never know, and if VF should teach him anything, it's that it's better to be safe than sorry.

It's just a two minute clip, it's not the whole thing. Perfect people are annoying. It's the people who make mistakes, and own up to them, who should be lauded. A role model should not be perfect. That's one theory about the COS(Church of Scientology), they aim to create a society of robots(not literally). Why would anyone want that? The more I read about it, the more it freaks me out. Solution, stop reading. Problem, can't, too mind blowingly interesting.

I just can't imagine wanting to give up everything, for something that is based on the teachings of a science fiction author, and not a very good one at that. I'm Christian, and I haven't given up squat. You don't need religion. It's a nice thing to have, but you don't need it to be healthy or happy. As long as you've got friends and family, and you're basically a good person, you don't need it. It's a really personal thing, and I can see the cons of organized religion, especially if we're lumping scientology in with it. I just don't like seeing anyone get mixed up in the Church of Scientology. It scares me. I'm researching it, so that my opinion is informed. Color me informed. It's not a good idea to put anything past some of these people.
