The guitar rifs are the same, but last time I checked you couldn't copy right that. This has nothing to do with Miley, she was like 11 when this movie came out and its from a movie that an 11 year old would go see. She probably never even heard this song before. I also love how the statement that Miley doesn't write the Hannah songs became twisted to Miley doesn't write her own music, which is not true.

Given the recent commotion over Lustra's fans discovery of Miley Cyrus' alleged borrowing of their music, Lustra would like to invite Ms. Cyrus to join them on stage at the Viper Room, Thursday, May 29, 2008. Lustra would play their song "Scotty Doesn't Know", following by Ms. Cyrus' "Rockstar", and then let their fans decide.

Initially, it was the many legions of Lustra fans that discovered the similarities with Ms. Cyrus' music. Hence, Lustra believes that the fans should decide if the copyright problem does exist. "We don't want anything other than credit for the music we worked so very hard on," declares Nick Cloutman, Lustra's guitarist. "We don't believe for a second that Ms. Cyrus knew what was happening and was only following instructions."

Disney has admitted publicly that Ms. Cyrus' does not write her own music but rather plays the songs that are selected for her. Lustra is well aware of that and realizes Ms. Cyrus' dilemma and that she much like them, is a victim of corporate behavior.

Another way to rectify this is to have Lustra appear on Hannah Montana as themselves and Hannah could open for the band in a show. Lustra could appear on the show as Hannah's musical influence. "We could share even more of our songs with Ms. Cyrus, just as long as we get credit for it, which is what we have wanted all along."

They want to become famous by playing with Miley, this band sucks then, if they can't guarantee they would make success without the help of Miley, this band isnt going nowhere.

The song is nothing compared to Rockstar, besides the fact that looks nothing like it except the very beginning the guitar part KINDA looks alike.

Its all of these little controversies like this one that really make me mad. They are a small band looking for attention so of course they claim that Miley "stole" one of their songs. First of all, she didn't even write it! So why are they bringing Miley into this? DISNEY wrote it, geniuses! Miley already has enough to worry about and they have to bring this up and they are trying to make her perform with them? I think that they just want more people to come to their show so they invited Miley. They just don't want to admit it. And how do you sue over a guitar riff? They don't even sound the same. Maybe the riff sounds the same for like half a minute in the song, but that doesn't make a difference. The riff is only like a few notes so its not that hard to make one that sounds similar to it. Disney wouldn't "rip off" a song from this small, unsigned band that hardly anyone knows about. The song isn't even copyrighted. If they actually had a good reason to rant on and on about this, maybe I would understand, but this is just ridiculous. Like I said, Lustra is a small band looking for attention, and they jumped to the opportunity of bringing Miley into this to get more popular. Sorry, but these things really tick me off.
