CHAPTER 1
“That’s not something you see everyday,” people mocked.
“She’s crazy!”
“What’s wrong with her?”
“Monkey-girl!”
I was sitting in a tree. Big whoop. No, I wasn’t K-I-S-S-I-N-G anybody. No, I wasn’t deranged or crazy. No, I wasn’t emo. No, no, no.
Oh and by the way, my name is Christie York. I’m 16 years old, living in a remote part of California, but still really close to Los Angeles. I don’t have many friends, only a select few best friends, that’s all. Most people think of me as—you guessed it—a freak. Just because I sat in a tree during most of my free time.
I stared at the bystanders, taking pictures and mocking me. This was basically a regular event, so I knew they’d go away in approximately…30 seconds.
I counted the seconds, and, as I had predicted, they all left in just a few seconds shy of 30. Told you I knew it.
I leaned up against the trunk of the, oh, let’s say 30 foot tall tree I was in. My legs and the whole bottom half of my body was sitting on a thick branch that jutted out from the trunk. I had my iPod thankfully, so I shoved the earphones in my ears and put it on shuffle. Soon, I fell asleep. I almost rolled off the tree when I jerked awake because of the song that started playing. Jonas Brothers. Those selfish, cold-hearted rock stars? BLECH. I didn’t even know why I had them on my iPod. Probably because my stupid little sister put them on there. We share an iTunes library.
“Honey, dinner’s ready!” My mom called out the front door.
“Coming, Mom!” I yelled. I stuffed the iPod back in my pocket and shifted my position so I could climb down. A few minutes later, I was brushing my clothes off and walking into the house.
“So, Christie, how was school today?” My mom asked after we said grace and started eating.
“Um…fine, Mom. Nothing special, just the same-old, same-old.”
“What’s the same-old, same-old?”
“You wouldn’t understand,” I mumbled. And it was true. She wouldn’t. She wouldn’t because I was basically an outcast. Occasionally I was bullied by the ditzy popular girls. Occasionally nobody but my three best friends talked to me. And occasionally, I got detention. Of course, my mom wouldn’t try to make me feel better. She’d just make it all worse by yelling at me for stuff I didn’t even do. That’s my same-old, same-old at HOME. Well, mostly at least.
She didn’t say anything, just started talking to my 14 year old sister, Lola, and my dad. I forked my food around, bored out of my mind. I wasn’t hungry, so I stood up, said thank you, put my dishes in the dishwasher, and went upstairs into my room. I went to sleep really early that night…at about 7ish.
Tomorrow I had school. Tomorrow my friends might be the only ones that talk to me. Tomorrow I might get bullied. Tomorrow I might get detention. Tomorrow anything could happen. And “anything” was everything I didn’t want to think about.

UGH I'm so bored right now that I'll just post the next chapter.
CHAPTER 2
Waking up sure is hard to do on a Monday morning. My mom almost had to scream in my ear with a bullhorn to get me up. I sluggishly got out of bed and got dressed (skinny jeans and a t-shirt with my hi-top Converse shoes, as always) and did my hair (down and I straightened it). I grabbed a bite of breakfast and ran out the door to drive myself to school (yeah, I have my license, how cool is that?!).
I parked in a spot at school and hopped out to my doom. As I walked inside, I passed a group of “Populars” (the one’s that bully me), staring and pointing at my outfit. What, did I have it on inside out and backwards or something?! It’s just skinny jeans, a t-shirt and Converse. What’s so bad about that?
The bell rang, and I made my way to my first class—History. Fun. I sat down near the center of the room, where the only available seat was. AND guess who I was sitting in front of? THE POPULARS! YAY!! Ha, as if. Cue sarcastic roll of eyes, thank you very much.
After History, I had Math, then English, and then lunch. Finally I could see my friends; none of them had the same classes as me. I walked out the door of the classroom and tripped on someone’s foot.
“Walk much?” The leader of the Populars, Sarah Brown, said. Her followers laughed behind her.
I knelt down to pick up my askew books, when I saw someone bending down to help me. Then I realized the foot of whom I tripped over.
“Are you okay? I’m sorry,” he said.
“Um, yeah. Whatever. Thanks.”
Nick Jonas. EW.
I can’t believe he touched my books. YUCK. I have to get out of here before he actually tries to TALK to me again, I thought.
I ran to my locker, put all my books away, and ran to my lunch table. My friends were waiting patiently for me, so they could start gossiping and talking about boys. And guess what boys in particular? THE JONAS BROTHERS.
This was going to be a LONG day.
It's another shortie...PLEASE COMMENT :)

Here's the next chapter:
CHAPTER 3
“OH EM GEE YOU RAN INTO NICK JONAS?!?!” One of my friends, Alexa, said.
“Um, yeah, but I only tripped over his foot—“
“But you still ran into him and TALKED to him!” Another friend, Jasmine, cut in.
“What did he say?!” My last friend, Ally, asked.
“All he said was, ‘Are you okay? I’m sorry.’ Then I said, ‘Um, yeah. Whatever. Thanks.’ and walked away. Good enough for you guys?”
“You didn’t talk to him?!”
“Um…not really, no. I don’t even like him. I HATE the Jonas Brothers, in case you guys forgot!”
They all put their hands over their mouths in apology. Only Jasmine said, “So do you like him?”
“I don’t even know him. And why would I like him? I just said I HATED the Jonas Brothers!”
“Yeah, well, it seems kinda like you enjoyed the two seconds you had with him,” Alexa added with a sly smile.
“No, I didn’t.”
“And who cares if you don’t know him? That’s what crushing is! You crush on some guy that you really like and is usually not your friend, and sooner or later you find out if he likes you or not. Duh. Besides, Alexa and I like the other two Jonases and we don’t know them either,” Jasmine explained.
“Oh, I forgot you liked Joe and Alexa liked Kevin. Sorry.”
“Whatever, it’s cool. But remember, you can crush, but you can’t lie.”
And with that, the bell rang and lunch was over. I went to my last few classes of the day, thinking about what Alexa said about crushing but not lying. It was kind of “fortune cookie”, but in a way it was also like, psychic. She’s a tad weird sometimes, but I love her for that.
I walked to my car after school and noticed the Jonases hanging with a couple of the popular girls; the ones that bully me. Ugh, so typical. I knew they were clique-y and didn’t want to hang out with some freak like me. Even if one of them shared my birthday…and that was the one who I fell head over heels for, but not in love; in embarrassment. And that one was Nick.

Aww thanks so much guys :) You all made me so happy :)
Here's the next chapter:
CHAPTER 4
I slammed my car door shut, still thinking about my day. I had completely forgotten that Ally had once dated Nick…yes; she’s the infamous Ally Ramsey. But she wasn’t famous anymore. She decided she didn’t want to be and stepped down, becoming normal again. She and the Jonases hadn’t stayed friends, and she moved back into her house again, all alone. I felt so bad that she hadn’t talked to him in forever, but she insisted she didn’t have feelings for him anymore.
The Jonas Brothers were still famous obviously, but had decided that they would go to regular school when they were in California. I wouldn’t call my school “regular” though. I’d call it…celebrity school. I mean, half the people at the school were either celebrities or at least RELATED to celebrities, making them celebrities in their own right, if you know what I mean. Except for me and two of my three friends (Ally had been famous, remember). We were the outcasts BECAUSE we weren’t famous or related to anyone famous. Even being friends with ex-celeb Ally Ramsey wasn’t enough. She was also an outcast now. The Jonas Brothers barely even looked at her. Occasionally, she’d smile at them, and they’d smile back, but then go back to their clique. Once again, typical, I’d always think.
Seeing as I had no homework that night, I dropped my stuff in the house and told my mom I’d be in the tree if she needed me. I walked outside, climbed the huge oak tree in my front yard, and sat picking at the leaves and flowers growing on the branches above my head. Soon I thought I could see people around the bottom of the tree, but it turned out to be just one person.
“Oh my God, why are you in a tree?” The person said.
“Why do you care?”
“I want to know. And hey, weren’t you the girl that tripped over my foot earlier today?”
“What’s it to ya?”
“Just answer the question, please.”
“Okay, so I was. What about it?”
“Just wondering. Why are you sitting in a tree?”
“Because I feel like it; and I always do. Wanna make something of it?”
“No, no, that’s okay. Anyways, um, are you okay? Today you didn’t look very happy.”
“Dude, if you had eyes, you’d be able to see that I’m not happy ANY day.”
“Really? Why not?”
“Why do you think?”
“I don’t know…”
“That stupid clique you hang out with is always bullying me and making fun of me and all that junk. They treat me like crap, okay? The teachers all hate me, I only have three friends—one of which is ex-celeb and your ex-girlfriend Ally Ramsey—and everyone thinks I’m a freak. Alright? That good enough for ya?”
“Oh, wow, I’m sorry, I didn’t know…”
“Yeah, well you’re just too busy ‘clique-ing it up’ with those jerks to notice all of us suffering because of them. Now, if you’re done making me tell you about myself, please leave me alone.”
“I don’t think you’re a freak…” That was all Nick said as he walked away. God, that kid was annoying. But hey, at least he tried to talk to me. I have to give him credit for that, at least.
The rest of my day consisted of the tree, dinner, the tree, and sleep. That became my regular routine for the next month or so. We didn’t have any homework because summer vacation was coming up in like, a month and a week or something. So, during the last week of school, I actually tried to make friends with Nick and his brothers. Psh. I know. Horrible, right?

Hehe here's the next chapter:
CHAPTER 5
YES. It was FINALLY the last week of school, which meant—no homework, no tests, no doing anything during the day! Just hang out and have fun. But the “have fun” part didn’t exactly apply to me, yet.
“I’m SO glad it’s almost summer vacation…I NEED a vacation,” Jasmine said, examining her nails.
“And by the looks of it, you need it desperately, Christie,” Ally added.
“Thanks, you look awesome today too, Ally,” I laughed, sitting down at the table.
Apparently I laughed kind of loudly, because Nick, from all the way across the cafeteria, suddenly looked in my direction. He smiled at me. I smiled a little. We were sort of friends, but not quite great friends yet.
“So…tell us about Nick!” Alexa jumped in, changing the subject.
“What about him? We’re sort of friends, that’s all.”
“No…do you have a crush on him or not? Tell us!”
“No of course not. Why would you even ask such a question?”
“BECAUSE…he just looked at you and you smiled back,” Jasmine explained.
“Oh shut up, you guys. I do not, repeat DO NOT, have a crush on him. We’re just…friends. If we’re even that.”
“What about Kevin and Joe?” Ally asked.
“What about them?”
“Are you friends with them?”
“No, they probably still think I’m a freak. They’re probably brainwashed by now, anyways.”
“Doubt it. They’re really nice, trust me. I know,” Ally winked.
“Obviously. You know Nick too. He KISSED you, for crying out loud!”
“Yeah, but I’m so over him,” she said.
“Are you sure? You don’t seem like it.”
“I am. Why don’t you think I am? Does that mean you like him?!” She asked, excited.
“No…it’s just you get all weird when we talk about him. I just want you to be happy.”
“I’m fine, really. I’m over him,” Ally said for like, the thousandth time, this time looking at her feet.
“Whatever, Ram.” Sometimes we also use each others’ last names as nicknames, by the way. First name nicknames get boring after a while.
“Uh oh, here comes the clique,” Jasmine observed.
“Ugh, great. What do they want now?” I asked, annoyed.
Sarah, the Jonases, and her followers walked up to our table. “Hi, Christie! Your top looks really pretty today! I love that blue color on you! It really brings out your eyes!”
WOW. Faker much? “What do you want, Sarah?” I put an ugly emphasis on the “Sarah”. Ha.
“Oh nothing…”
“Then why did you come over here?” I asked, standing up.
“Just wanted to let you know that that top wasn’t going to be worn around here anymore.”
“Why not? Is there a new ‘rule’ or something?” I was getting angry.
“Oh no, it’s just that…it’ll be too dirty and stained!”
“From what?”
“This!”
Suddenly Sarah grabbed Alexa’s ketchup and dumped it on my head. She grabbed Ally’s iced coffee and dumped it on my head, and it slid down my face onto my shirt. Then she picked up Jasmine’s grape juice, pouring it on the front of my shirt. Finally, she picked up my macaroni and cheese and dumped it down the front of my shirt.
I blinked. “Oh, that’s what you meant.”
I lunged for her, trying to punch her and wring her neck, but Jasmine and Ally held me back. When Sarah and her followers finally walked away, Nick and his brothers stayed back.
“Christie, are you okay?” Nick asked, concerned.
“Yep, I’m just PEACHY!!” I said, frustrated.
“Yo, freak—I mean, Christie, calm down. It’s alright. Sarah can get a little mean at times,” Joe said.
“ALRIGHT?!?! A LITTLE?!?! AT TIMES?!?!” I screamed. “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!”
“Um…what Joe meant was, that she…oh I’m lost, I don’t know…oh, he meant to say that she gets mean when she’s…um…mean?” Nick couldn’t figure out what to say.
“JUST GO AWAY! I DON’T WANT TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF YOU ANYMORE!!” I screamed at all three brothers. “GO! UGH!!”
They walked away, and all three of my friends took me to the office. I explained what happened, and they let me go home to change. Obviously, Alexa, Ally, and Jasmine came with me. So, we basically ditched school for the rest of the day. And it was only 12:30 when we got home. School didn’t get out until 2, so we had some time to talk and help me get back to normal.
We drove home, me still dripping wet, freezing, and disgusted. As soon as we got to my house, my mom asked what happened. Ally, Alexa, and Jasmine told her as I went upstairs to start the long process of getting all this gunk off of me and my clothes.
I changed, throwing my old clothes in the sink. I wiped my body off with a towel before putting on new clothes, and then my friends helped me start the process of picking pieces of macaroni out of my hair, then washing all the ketchup, coffee, and grape juice out, and blow-drying it straight again.
This whole process took about an hour. It was 1:30 when we finally finished. We all crashed onto the many bean bags in my room, pooped.
“And did you hear how she laughed after she did it? That stupid little ‘hee hee heee heee heeeeee’? Ugh, that sounded like fingernails on the chalkboard!” Alexa said about 30 minutes into the conversation.
“No, it sounded like a thin, old woman that wanted to make a coat out of your Dalmatians!” I said, quoting the TV show, “The Big Brain Theory”. We all laughed.
“It was nice of Nick to try to help you out though, until you totally blew up at them,” Ally said calmly.
“Yeah, and I really didn’t mean to blow up at them like that. I was just so mad and in shock and everything, that my emotions got the best of me. I should apologize, shouldn’t I?”
“Well….DUH!!” They all screamed.
“Alright, alright, fine. I’ll go over to their house right now.” It was already 2:15, and they were usually home at about this time.
I walked out the front door, and all my friends walked back to their own houses (they all lived to the right of me, a few houses down; obviously in separate houses too). I calmly made my way to the Jonas’ front walkway that lead to their front door. I rang the doorbell.
“Christie? What are YOU doing here?” Joe asked, emphasizing “you” in an ugly way.
“Hello, Joe. I just wanted to say…I’m sorry for blowing up like that today. I was just…so mad and shocked and all that, that…I forgot my manners. Do you guys forgive me?”
By this time, Kevin and Nick had already joined Joe at the door. “Sure, I forgive you,” Nick said. “But I don’t know about them.”
“I forgive you,” Joe said, sighing reluctantly.
“So do I,” Kevin said, repeating what Joe did.
“Thanks. Bye,” I said, turning around to leave. But Nick caught me by the arm.
“Going to sit in the tree, are we?”
“Um…yeah, why?”
“Why do you sit up there?”
“It’s my business and my business only. Now, goodbye.”
I walked back to my house, and scaled the side of the tree easily and quickly. Nick didn’t even have to ask why I climbed the tree though, unless he has like, short term memory loss or something. I told him before. And I’m not going to repeat myself. So he better start shaping up, or I may as well just stay up here forever. I mean, I could. It’s a possibility. It always has been.
It’s just been in the back of my mind since I met Nick.
COMMENT PLEASE :)
And I know this is kinda skipping into the future a lot, but Chapter 9 (4 more chapters until that one!) is REALLY REALLY REALLY long. Like, over 2,400 words :) So yeah, keep commenting and reading and you'll soon get to read that chapter too...it's also a HUGE turning point in the story.

^^OMJ that is so creepy! I didn't try to like, make it real people, but yeah :P Trust me, I don't know a Sarah Brown, so that's why I chose that :)
Here's the next chapter, since I'll be gone for about 3 or 4 hours today:
CHAPTER 6
The last day of school was only a half day, thank God. I got my report card a few minutes before leaving, and I ripped it open. I got all A’s except for a C in…Math. Hey, it’s not MY fault those stupid Populars were like, throwing calculators at my head! They actually were! And I got in trouble for it! How bogus is that?
Just as I was walking to my car, staring at the C in Math in disgust, Nick came up behind me. He snatched the report card from my hands.
“Hey, give that back—Oh, hi Nick.”
“You got a C in Math?! What’s wrong with you, Math is so easy!”
“Thanks for the support. And I got a C in Math simply because,” I said hopping in my car and snatching the report card from Nick’s hand, “your stupid clique friends throw calculators at my head.”
“They do? Really? No wait, you’re just lying.”
“No I’m not.”
“My friends aren’t mean like that!”
“Uh, yeah they are, Nick. Open your eyes to the truth,” I said, pointing to his clique. They were bullying some freshman girl pretty badly. Nick looked at them with his eyes and mouth wide. He looked back at me with a shocked face.
“Don’t pretend like you didn’t already know, Nick. I don’t like pretenders. And pretenders don’t like me either.”
And with that, I drove away. I pretty much left him hanging. It was cruel, but I had to do it. I had to show him what his “friends” did to all of us that weren’t “in” with them.
I parked in the driveway, dropped my report card on the kitchen table for my parents to see and ran back outside. I was about to start climbing the tree when I felt someone grab my arm and pull me down.
“Hey, who do you think you are—Oh, Nick. It's you again.”
“Hey.”
“Hello.”
“So…you were right. I was wrong. I’m sorry.”
“About what?”
“My…um, friends.”
“Oh, did you talk to them?”
“Well, they…talked to me…after you left.”
“And…?”
“Let’s just say…I don’t have any friends anymore,” Nick said, looking at his feet.
I shifted from one foot to the other nervously. What had I done? “What…what about your brothers?”
“They are still my friends…but they’ll tell the clique anything. So I can’t tell them much.”
“Not even at home?”
“Nope.”
“I’m…I’m so sorry, Nick…I didn’t know…”
“It’s not your fault…it’s mine.”
“No, it’s mine. I shouldn’t have turned you against them…I shouldn’t have even been talking to you. It’s ‘uncool’ in their eyes,” I explained.
He put his hands in his pockets and looked up at me. “You’re not uncool in my eyes.”
I smiled. “You’re pretty cool yourself.” He smiled.
WHAT AM I SAYING?! I’M NOT SUPPOSED TO LIKE HIM! But, I have to admit, he is pretty cool. Maybe I do like him…
He stopped smiling and tears formed in his eyes. “I don’t know what to do…you’re the only one I can talk to now…”
Nick ran into my arms and squeezed me tightly, crying into my hair. I wasn’t expecting it, so I just kind of awkwardly patted his back. “Um…what about your…your parents? You can talk to them, can’t you?”
“Yeah, but it’s awkward talking to them. I don’t want to talk to them about my life…that’d be…weird. But talking to you…is so much easier,” he said in between sobs.
That sent a chill down my spine. That meant I had to listen to him whenever he wanted to talk. That meant I was like…his best friend. As close as I could possibly get to his girlfriend. Not that I WANTED to be his girlfriend or anything.
I suddenly felt happier with him hugging me. I squeezed him back, and his crying ceased a little. A few minutes later, he was finished crying. He let go of me.
“So…does this mean…we’re friends?” Nick asked.
“Well, it depends on what kind of friends. ‘Acquaintance friends’, or ‘best friends’?” I answered.
“Best friends?” He asked, looking at with hopeful eyes.
“Sure, best friends.”
He smiled, and I smiled back. I was about to climb the tree when he stopped me.
“Why do you go up there anyways?”
“Uh…I already told you.”
“When?”
“Like, a month ago.”
“You did? Oh yeah, I remember now. But why can’t you just talk to somebody?”
“Because I’m not like you. I don’t trust many people with my secrets.”
“Do you trust me?”
There was an awkward silence for a minute. “Yes, I do.”
Nick let me climb the tree, and he stood there. “So do you want to talk right now?”
“Um…no thanks, I think I’m okay. I just…want to be alone. Thanks though.”
“Okay, no problem,” he said, walking away, and then stopped. “Oh and Christie?”
“Yeah, Nick?”
“Thanks.”
I blushed in the cover of the leaves. “You’re welcome. Bye.”
I watched as he ran home. Obviously, he didn’t have a key or anything, because he had to knock on the front door. Even from far away, I could see his brothers roll their eyes when he explained where he had been. That made me feel horrible. I told him he shouldn’t get involved with me. But now I couldn’t help getting involved with him…he was just so…so…nice, caring, amazing…everything. And he was my best friend.
“Best friend,” I whispered to myself. I played around with the words, trying to figure out if I wanted to change them. But for now, I was perfectly fine with the arrangement.

You know what...I'll just post it. I'm in such a great mood right now that here's the next chapter:
CHAPTER 7
Skipping a week in advance, I woke up one day pretty late in the morning. It was the first week into summer vacation, and I couldn’t be happier. And I’m sure Nick figured that out, because when he saw me outside on my skateboard, he came running from his house.
“Hey Christie!” He said, smiling.
“Hey Nick!” I said back, picking up my skateboard.
“You can ride a skateboard?” He asked.
“Yeah, it’s pretty easy. Do you?”
“No, I’m not good at it,” he blushed.
“Why don’t I teach you? It’s really fun. Want me to?”
“Sure, that’d be awesome!”
And so I taught him how to ride a skateboard. We had the occasional occurrence where Nick would lose his balance and fall on top of me onto the grass and we’d be laughing hysterically, him still on top of me. Then it would get really quiet and he’d stand back up quickly and help me up. Then we’d start our lesson again.
It went on like this for a while, until Nick could finally ride a skateboard.
“I’m doing it!” He squealed as he rode down the sidewalk.
“Perfect! You’re doing great!” I replied. He looked up and smiled as he slowed down to a stop right in front of me.
“Thanks for teaching me,” he said, hugging me quickly.
“No problem, it wasn’t TOO hard,” I laughed.
He laughed too, and then we both stopped. I looked at the ground and could tell he was staring at me.
“So…” I said, trying to change the subject.
“Yeah…”
“Um…what do you want to do now?” I asked.
“I don’t know, what do you want to do?”
“Well, I would say climb the tree, but you probably wouldn’t be able to.”
“And how are you so sure of that?” Nick asked.
“Because, you don’t seem like the type of person who’d be able to,” I joked, smiling innocently when he glared at me.
“Oh yeah? Watch this.”
Nick walked over to the tree and tried to climb up the bottom of the trunk. He failed. He tried again. He failed again. After many failures, I finally walked over to the tree and put my arm out so he wouldn’t try again.
“Dude, you’re trying to CLIMB the tree, not MOLEST it,” I laughed.
“Well then, how DO I climb it? Show me.”
“Well, first, you put your foot here,” I put my foot on a part of the tree, “and your hands here and here,” I said, putting my hands in the spots also. “Next, you bring your foot up here, and just keep doing that until you reach that branch all the way up there,” I said, pointing.
“Fine, then you go first and I’ll follow you and do what you do.”
“Whatever, just try to keep up, okay?”
I started climbing, and he followed in my every step. I looked back at him to make sure he was doing okay every once in a while and he’d just smile, letting me know he was fine. I kept going and soon got up onto the branch, as Nick was still climbing.
He was finally pretty close to the branch when he said, “Alright, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t climb any more. Help me up.”
“Too tired, are we? Told you you’re not the tree-climbing type,” I grinned, holding out my hand for him to grab.
He reached for it and squeezed it when he got a hold of it. I pulled him up with all my strength and he propped himself up against the trunk of the tree. I shifted my position so I was sitting on practically the edge of the branch, facing him (the branch wasn’t that long). He was completely out of breath for a few minutes, and I was just laughing my head off when he’d disagree with me when I said he wasn’t built for tree-climbing.
Then it got really quiet, and we were just sort of staring at each other. Then Nick broke the silence, saying, “Um, Christie…I have to ask you something…”
“Yes, Nick?” UGH could I sound anymore desperate when I’m not?!
“Well…I know we haven’t been best friends for that long but…”
I swear my face must’ve gone pale or something, because he stopped and asked, “Are you okay? You don’t look so good.”
“Uh…um…yeah, just, thought I was gonna fall off the branch. It’s cool though. Continue.” LAME-O.
“Anyways, even though we haven’t been friends for that long, I realized that…I really, REALLY like you. A lot. If that makes sense.”
“I like you too, Nick.”
“I didn’t mean in the friend way…”
“O-oh…um…”
“It’s fine if you don’t feel the same way, I shouldn’t have brought it up, I knew it was too early anyways…”
“No, Nick, it’s just that…”
“Am I uncool to your friends or something?”
“No, it’s just…I…I don’t know…I don’t know if I feel the same way or not…my life is pretty confusing right now, so, um…”
“I knew I shouldn’t have brought it up,” he muttered to himself as he started climbing down. He got halfway down when I stopped him by yelling.
“Nick! Please, don’t go! I…I do like you, I do! Really!”
“You said it was only as a friend,” he yelled back, still climbing down.
“But…but that’s because I got nervous because…I never liked you before we became friends.”
Nick stopped climbing down and looked back up at me.
“I…I’m sorry…I just don’t know yet, okay?”
“It’s…whatever. Talk to you later. Bye,” he said impatiently, climbing down and walking home with his hands in his pockets. I climbed down and ran to my front door, only looking back once to see if he was coming back. He wasn’t. Tears began to form in my eyes and I wiped them away furiously.
“I hate myself,” I whispered as I ran up to my room. I slammed the door, making my mom come upstairs to ask me what’s wrong.
“Nothing Mom, just go away.”
“No honey, something is wrong. Please tell me, Christie.”
“No Mom. I’m fine. I’m just peachy, alright?”
“Stop lying. Sweetie, I just want to help. I know your life hasn’t been going well, and I just want to be of any help I can be.”
“I’M. FINE. GO. AWAY,” I said slowly. She backed away from the door and walked back downstairs. I plugged my iPod into it’s speakers and blasted my music as loud as I could. All the songs that played were basically about how the person was confused about his/her feelings, or how they wanted to love the other person but couldn’t, etc. All about what was going on in my life.
And I hoped that Nick heard it. I hoped he heard it and realized I was telling the truth about how I was confused and didn’t know yet. And about how I secretly wished he was mine. Of course, no one believes me anyways, so it didn’t matter. He probably wouldn’t talk to me ever again, and blasting my music probably wouldn’t make it any worse.
I’m not very good at this whole “love” thing. I never was. I try not to lie, but I have to sometimes, if I wanted to hide my true feelings. And now he’ll probably never believe me when I tell him I DO like him. Maybe even LOVE him.
COMMENT PLEASE :)
I only need one comment though. Just one. Yep, only one. I'm feeling generous today.

CHAPTER 8
The next day, I woke up really early in the morning. I don’t know why I did, but at least I didn’t go sleepless. That’s usually what happens when I’m upset about something. I got out of bed and put on a pair of skinny leg jeans (even though it’s summer), a white t-shirt, and a pair of green hi-top Converse.
I didn’t eat breakfast, but ran outside and rode on my skateboard to Nick’s house. I remembered that his room had a balcony on the back of it, like mine did. So I ran to the backyard, and climbed up a rose vine on the back of the house onto his balcony. I stood there for a few minutes until I remembered I had a piece of paper in my pocket and a pen. I took the paper out and wrote a message on it with the marker, leaving it on the door. I climbed back down and rode away, back into my house.
What was the message exactly? Well, this was the message:
Nick ~
I’m sorry for—you know—saying those things yesterday. I’m sorry if I lead you on or anything like that. I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to hurt your feelings. I didn’t want our friendship to suffer if I didn’t like you.
But the truth is, I do. I really, really do like you. I promise you, I’m telling the truth. Please believe me. I know you’re going through a hard time with breaking up with Ally and all, but…I just thought I’d tell you so you wouldn’t feel stupid.
If you need me, I won’t be home. I’m going to Six Flags. TTYL.
~ Christie
Yeah, it seems long, but it really wasn’t on the piece of paper. I hopped into my car, checking to make sure I had everything I needed (makeup, cell phone, wallet, etc) in my purse. Once the inspection was over, I pulled out of my driveway. Then someone ran out in front of me just before I put my foot on the gas pedal.
“WAIT! CHRISTIE, PLEASE WAIT!!”
“What do you want, Nick?” I rolled my eyes. I didn’t want to talk to him. That was the whole reason WHY I was going to Six Flags. To drown my feelings in my screams of happiness on the freakishly tall and fast roller coasters that I’ve grown to know and love. I know, I’m so deep.
“I…I wanted to talk to you.” Is this boy blind or something?
“About what?”
“Well, what do you think?” He said, holding up the note.
“Oh. THAT.” Emphasis on the ‘that’.
“What’s wrong? Is this not true or something?” He asked, scanning it with confusion in his eyes.
“No, no, it’s true…”
“So why are you acting like that?”
“No reason.” BECAUSE I WANT TO GO SCREAM MY HEAD OFF ON THE FREAKISHLY TALL AND FAST RIDES, WHAT DO YOU THINK?!?!
“So can we talk?”
I pretended to look at my cell phone to see what time it was. “Sorry, Nick, but I’m running late. I’m meeting somebody at Six Flags, and I have to go. Can we talk later?”
“Um…sure. Th-that’s…that’s okay.”
“Thanks. Bye!”
I started driving, and the only thing I heard was a nervous, “Who are you meeting there?”
I responded without answering the question. “SEE YOU LATER!” I yelled.
Then I drove off, on my way to Six Flags. And on the way there, I was thinking about who I was meeting. I WAS actually meeting someone there, so I wasn’t lying. I was worried though, that Nick might come to Six Flags and see me with him and get the wrong idea…oh, I didn’t tell you who “he” was?
My twin brother.

CHAPTER 9
Of course, we were fraternal twins, meaning we looked nothing alike. AND it doesn’t help that he doesn’t live with me or the rest of my family. He lives on like, the other side of L.A, by himself. So I hadn’t seen him in a few months. Duh.
I finally arrived at Six Flags, bought a ticket, and looked around for my brother. I didn’t know what to expect, but I just pictured what I’d seen a few months ago. Medium-length straight hair, medium height, skinny jeans-wearing, etc. Of course, he must’ve recognized me before I recognized him, because he came running over and hugged me. He did look pretty much the same, except that his hair may have grown out a little more.
“BEN!!” I screamed, almost out of breath from him squeezing me so tightly. “It’s so awesome to see you!”
“Same to you, sis! I missed you!”
“I missed you too,” I said, close to tears. I was so happy to see him, I needed SOMEONE to talk to about my life.
“Tell me what’s been going on with you lately,” he said as we walked into the park.
“Well…” I began. I explained everything to him, all up until this moment.
“WOW,” was all he could get out. “So…you really like this Nick Jonas kid, but you don’t want to talk to him? Even though he talks to you? I don’t understand.”
“Alright, so…I used to absolutely despise Nick and his brothers, but then I became good friends with Nick…best friends. He tells me everything, and I told him a lot, but I didn’t tell him that I really liked him until this morning…written on a piece of paper. He stopped me before I could drive out into the street and said he wanted to talk, but for some reason I didn’t want to talk to him. Get it now?”
“Yeah, but if you really like this kid, you should talk to him. I mean, if you want to date him or whatever, you need to at least be able to speak to him about what’s wrong or what’s going on in your life. You need to be honest with him.”
“I…I was! But…I don’t know, I just didn’t feel like talking to anybody.”
“Well, you’re talking to me.”
“Whatever.”
We rode most of the rides, until I saw Nick running around, frantically searching for me. Ben gave me a go-talk-to-him-now-or-I’ll-tell-him-for-you look, so I started walking casually over to where Nick was. I stood in front of him while he was still looking. Dang, that boy is oblivious. He ran right into me when he was trying to go forward, and we both collapsed on the ground.
“Oh I’m SO sorry….CHRISTIE! There you are!” He exclaimed, helping me up.
“Yeah, here I am,” I said. I laughed nervously.
“Can we talk now? And I thought you were meeting someone here.”
“I was…he’s over there,” I replied, pointing to Ben.
“O-oh…I-I didn’t know…I guess I’ll just leave…” Nick turned around and started walking away.
“No, no, Nick! It’s not like that! That’s my TWIN BROTHER.”
He stopped and looked back at me. “Twin brother? Since when did you have a twin brother? You never mentioned him.”
“Well, since I was born, duh. And that’s because he doesn’t live with me…he lives on the other side of L.A….by himself.”
Nick walked closer. “So, he’s not your boyfriend?”
“Nope. Brother.”
“Brother…” He whispered, smiling. I could tell he was relieved.
“So,” I said, grabbing his arm and pulling him over near the grass. “You wanted to talk?”
“Yeah,” he made his face all serious-looking, “about…”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. About ‘us’, right?”
“Well, kind of. I mean, we’re not an ‘us’ yet, so...”
“Of course, that’s what I meant.” I was getting nervous, but I don’t know why.
“Do you want to be?” That was fast.
I think I was about to faint. I don’t know why though…I don’t know a lot of things, come to think of it. I was silent for a minute, making Nick shift on his feet nervously.
“…Sorry, I was just in shock for a second…YES! Yes, I do! I do, I do, I do!”
His expression perked up at my response. He smiled. “Great! So do you mind if I join you and your…um, brother, right now?”
“Not at all,” I smiled. We hugged and I ran back over to Ben to tell him before Nick got there.
“I think I already know what happened,” Ben said, rolling his eyes sarcastically.
“Okay, then you should know that he’s joining us right now,” I said. Ben smiled.
“Sure, whatever. It’s cool.”
Nick came up behind me and slid his hand into mine. I swear, I got goosebumps.
I wouldn’t be able to name all the rides we went on if my life depended on it, so don’t ask. All that matters is that Nick and I could hold hands and hug and all that and there were NO PAPARAZZI around. It was so awesome to be able to act like regular teenagers. Only, he’s super-famous and has a platinum album and I’m…well, not.
Thankfully, I had my digital camera (along with my phone) in my purse also, but I hadn’t figured it out until then. We took lots of pictures, and Ben and I exchanged phone numbers and all that stuff so we could keep in touch. I didn’t want to lose touch with my favorite (and only) twin brother in the world. I needed him, and could tell he needed me too.
As quickly as the day started, the day ended. It wasn’t that late, but we had been out all day, so Nick and I had to get home. Nick stood a little far back from Ben and I as we said goodbye. I was so close to tears I swear I would’ve started crying if Nick wasn’t there. I didn’t mind him seeing me cry, but I didn’t want him to have to deal with it. I hugged Ben for a really long time, and when we let go, said a sad goodbye.
“Don’t worry, sis,” he said, picking up my chin with his hand. “We’ll see each other again.”
“When?”
“I don’t know. It’s complicated. Just keep in touch, okay? We’ll figure something out.” He took his hand away.
I looked at my feet.
“Hey,” he lightly punched my shoulder, “hey, it’ll be okay. I mean, I’m still in California! You can come visit me, alright?”
I didn’t say anything, but looked up.
“Alright?” He asked again, smiling.
“Okay. I’m going to miss you though. I miss hanging out with you. I miss my brother!” I hugged him tightly, still making sure no tears came out of my eyes.
“I miss my sister, too. But life can do crazy things. Crazy things that can change your life forever, in good or bad ways. Remember that,” he said, poking a finger right in front of my face. He smiled and walked away. I just stared at the ground where he had stood when we hugged. I was so upset, I could barely hold the tears in.
Nick came over and put his arm around me. “You’ll see him again, Chris. It’s not like he’s gone forever.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” I whispered.
He kissed my head and we walked to my car. Apparently he had taken a cab over here, so he drove my car home. I sat in the passenger seat, thinking about what Ben said. I was hoping he didn’t say it for a certain reason. A reason I didn’t wish to discuss, maybe even not with Nick.
I was still trying to hold the tears in on the car ride home. It worked until Nick parked the car in the driveway and we got out. I stood on the grass, staring at nothing. Nick stood in front of whatever I was staring at, and I looked at him with sadness in my eyes. He knew exactly what was going to happen. He ran up to me and squeezed me tightly, releasing the waterworks. I was so glad I had Nick to talk to and lean on. He understood me. He really, actually…CARED about me. He made every moment of my life perfect.
That is, until my mom saw us hugging. She started yelling and pulled me inside, leaving Nick standing outside all alone. I ran over to the huge window inside, flattened my palms against it and looked at him with frightened eyes. He did the same thing on the outside, but looked at me with a concerned expression.
My mom came over to me and pulled me from the window. She started yelling. I don’t remember what she said; it’s all a blur. All I remember is she hit me a few times, saying something about not telling her I was going out or something, and then I hit my head on the ground. I woke up in the same position in the living room the next morning. My stomach was growling like crazy, I had bruises on my arms, and my head was throbbing still. I stood up, looked around, and checked a clock. It said it was only 7 in the morning, but it felt like later. Maybe because the throbbing in my head made everything harder to comprehend at times.
I walked into the kitchen and saw my mom sitting at the table. She gave me a disgusted look but I just ignored her. I took out a box of Frosted Cheerios and poured myself a bowl. I didn’t feel like putting milk in it, so I just took out a spoon and ate it in the living room. Boy, was I happy it was summer vacation and I didn’t have school. I wouldn’t have gone, anyways.
As I was about to put my bowl and spoon in the dishwasher, I noticed a piece of paper halfway underneath the door. I pulled it out from under it, and opened it. It was from Nick.
Christie,
If you wake up before your mom finds this, I want you to come over to my house. I think it would be safer and easier to hang out that way. Please let me know somehow. Oh and don’t tell your mom where you’re going, otherwise we’ll be in worse trouble. I hope you’re okay!
Nick
I put my bowl and spoon in the dishwasher and ran upstairs to change and do something with my hair. I threw my hair in a ponytail when I was done changing, and went out onto my balcony as quietly as possible. I climbed halfway down the rose vine when I noticed that my mom was looking out the window that it went right next to, virtually ONTO. But then I remembered that if I jumped down, she wouldn’t see or hear me, because I’d jump down on the other side, duh. And I knew that because I had tried it before, and it totally worked.
So I jumped down, landing all tangled up in the bushes. As soon as I untangled myself, I full-out sprinted for Nick’s house. Once I got there, I rang the doorbell, looking around frantically to make sure my mom didn’t see me and come after me or something. When the door opened, I ran in. But it wasn’t Nick that answered it. It was Joe.
“Christie?”
I stopped in my tracks. “Joe? Where’s Nick?”
“He’s in the living room. Why? Why are you here?”
“Uh, long story, can’t explain, gotta go,” I said quickly, running into the living room. Nick looked up and immediately perked up. He stood up from the couch and engulfed me in a hug.
“I’m so happy you’re okay,” he whispered. “What happened last night?”
“I…I’m not sure. All I know is that my mom said I didn’t say I was going out or something…and she was just extremely mad. But she’s never done…that before.” I was pretty sure I was trembling, because Nick squeezed me tighter to calm me down.
“Alright, alright, it’ll be okay. I’m sure there’s a much better explanation for what happened, just calm down. It’s okay. It’s just Nick. I’m just trying to help, alright?” I slowly stopped shaking and my paranoia went away as I dug my head into his curly shag of hair. My breathing regulated, and he let go of me. Nick grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the couch. I sat down next to him, scared of what Joe and Kevin would think of us…being together and all that. But there was nothing wrong. I guess Nick told them everything, because Joe said something, but not in a rude way like he usually did.
“Yeah, we don’t like them anymore either.”
I had spaced out until then. “Don’t like who?”
“Those popular girls that we used to hang out with.”
“Oh,” I said, smiling inside.
“Yeah, Nick told us all about it, and…well, it’s our brother or our friends, so we chose our brother.”
I grinned a little and looked at Nick. He put his arm around me and stroked my arm with that same hand. I scooted over a little so I could lean my head on his chest. Suddenly my phone started ringing, and I got up so I could answer it.
“Hello?”
“Christie…where are you? You invited me over to your house but YOU aren’t there.”
“OH MY GOD Ally I’m so sorry! I’m just…I’ll be there in a sec, alright? I’m so sorry!”
“It’s fine! See you soon, bye!”
“Bye.”
I hung up and looked at Nick pleadingly. He motioned to me that I could leave, and I smiled and said goodbye. He said goodbye also, and I ran home, climbed up to my balcony, and ran inside. Thankfully, my mom didn’t know that I had been gone.
“Sorry, got a little tied up.”
“Where?” Ally asked while sitting on my bed.
“Um…at the Jonas’ house.”
“And why were you there? I thought you didn’t like them.”
“No, see, Nick and I became best friends, and then I made friends with Joe and Kevin and…yeah.”
“Oh…so you’re hanging out with them now?” She made it sound really bad.
“Um…sure. I guess.”
“Anything going on between you and Nick besides that you’re friends?” She looked a little upset, like she knew what I was going to say or something.
“Um, well—“
“Good, because I need to talk to you about Nick.”
I closed my mouth and listened.
“I still love him,” was where she lost me.

Here's the next chapter:
CHAPTER 10
“Y-you…you still love him?” I stuttered nervously.
“Yes…we only broke up because of his world tour, and now that he’s back…it’s just that…we had something special.”
“Oh. Um…that’s…why don’t you…talk to him?”
“Because, we’re not friends anymore. It would be too awkward anyways. He looks like he likes somebody else.”
My face went totally pale.
“Are you okay, Chris? You don’t look so good.”
“Um…yeah, I’m fine. Uh huh, just peachy.”
I felt like I was going to throw up though. “On second thought, be right back!!” I yelled as I ran to the bathroom. And, yes, I did throw up. I wasn’t sick, but I just used that excuse to get Ally out of my house.
“Feel better, okay?” She said as she got into her car (she had her license now too). She drove home. Thankfully, she moved into a new house, so she didn’t live near the Jonases. I know that’s a little mean, but I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t…I didn’t want her to know I was dating Nick. I didn’t want to lose my best friend.
Nick opened his front door for some reason and saw me standing outside with my arms crossed. “What’s wrong, Chris??” He yelled.
I looked up. “Um…uh…nothing!” I yelled back, totally lying.
“Doubt it!” He said, running across the street. Nick was about two feet from me when he said, “What’s really wrong?” and looked at me with those innocent brown eyes. UGH I hate it when he does that.
“Ally still loves you,” I whispered, looking at my feet.
“Ally WHAT?!”
“She still loves you, Nick. She still loves you!”
“Well, did you tell her?”
“No, I don’t want to lose my best friend over a boy. That’s like, breaking girl code!”
“Girl code?” He smiled and laughed a little.
“Shut up! How are we going to fix this? What should we do?” I was freaking out.
Nick put his hands on my shoulders. “Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out. How about we just be honest about it? That shouldn’t do too much harm, right?”
“Uh, yeah, only to my ENTIRE LIFE! Ally’s one of my best friends, I don’t think I could ever do that to her!”
“Alright, alright, fine. Then let’s just watch her, like hawks.”
“Like hawks? EARTH TO NICK—she doesn’t come over here that much! How are we supposed to watch her like hawks if she ISN’T AROUND?!”
“Simple. HAVE HER AROUND MORE.” He laughed as he said it.
“Fine,” I said, looking at the window in the living room. “Oh God, I should probably get back inside before my mom shoots me.”
“Like, literally?”
“She could. We have a gun. For protection purposes, but yeah, put two and two together.”
“Alright, talk to you later?”
“Sure, bye!” He hugged me quickly and I ran inside, just before my mom was going to start yelling. She calmed down and went to go make dinner. I let out a sigh of relief and went upstairs into my room. I lied down on my bed, pulling on my hair as if it would reveal the answers.
It didn’t.
“UGH!!” I screamed. The whole house went silent for a few seconds.
“Honey? Are you alright?” My mom’s voice echoed in the silence.
“Yeah, Mom. Fine. Just FINE.”
“Okay, let me know if something’s wrong.”
“Whatever.”
I closed my eyes for a few seconds, trying to picture what would happen if I had Ally and Nick together…like, if we all hung out together.
But I couldn’t see much. It was all a blur. I sighed, opened my eyes, and looked out my window at the sky.
“Thanks, God. Now I know whose side you’re on.”
DEEP.

CHAPTER 11
“So…Ally, wanna come over today? I’m feeling better and feel bad that you had to leave early yesterday,” I said into the phone, lying only a little bit.
“Sure, that’d be awesome! When do you want me?”
“Um, anytime…oh and BTW, we’re hanging with the Jonases. That okay?” NO FREAKING DUH IT’S OKAY. SHE HASN’T SPOKEN TO THEM IN LIKE…MONTHS. WHY WOULDN’T SHE WANT TO HANG WITH THEM?!
“Uh, sure, that’s…that’s fine.”
“If you don’t want to, we don’t have to.”
“No, no, we can. See you in a little bit, then,” she said, obviously smiling.
“Bye!” I said, hanging up.
GREAATTT. Now I have to handle Ms. Juliet and her ex-Romeo. Together. In the same square footage. How fun will that be?
I soon got my answer when I saw Ally pull up in her car in my driveway while I was skateboarding with the boys around the street. Once we got back to my house, Ally got all like, past-tense, recalling practically EVERY SINGLE FREAKING DAY that all four of them had spent together months and months before. I got really bored after a while, but when she’d look at me, I’d smile to let her think I was still listening. But I wasn’t. I had completely zoned out. Soon though, I noticed her flirting with Nick. He gave me a look, and I immediately jumped into the picture.
See, Nick and I had this “secret code” thing. We could let each other know what we want to say or what we’re thinking without even speaking. We just kind of…know. Some times are a little more obvious than others; take right now, for example. Ally was TOTALLY flirting and Nick didn’t want her to think he was still interested.
“SO, ALLY! How’s it been, lately?” I asked, pretending to be interested, jumping in between her and Nick.
“Oh it’s been fine, just that I’ve missed talking to you guys,” she said, obviously addressing Nick. She turned her attention to him and totally blocked me out. I was virtually screaming in her ear and she wouldn’t stop flirting.
“Christie, is something wrong?!” She finally asked; a little annoyed. Nick backed away, to his brothers, relieved.
“YES, something IS wrong.” I suddenly felt like telling her everything about my relationship with Nick.
“Then what is it? Just tell me!”
I hesitated and decided to resist the urge to tell her. “I…I…I can’t.”
“WHY NOT? You get so mad for something you can’t tell me?”
“It’s…never mind. I shouldn’t have said anything.”
“Yeah, then we’d be able to live without these stupid little fights!” She quickly pranced over to Nick again, flirting like H-E-double-hockey-sticks. Yeah, that’s right, I WENT THERE.
I rolled my eyes. I loved Ally like a sister, I really did, but she really annoyed me sometimes. Particularly, right now. Obviously Kevin and Joe noticed, because they came over to me and started reassuring me.
“Don’t worry, he’s tough. She won’t break him this time,” Joe said, patting my shoulder.
“Doubt it. I mean, she broke him before!”
“Technically, before wasn’t an official ‘break’. He just had a huge crush on her, and she felt the same way,” Kevin disagreed.
“Whatever. I don’t trust her around him though.”
“Then just TELL HER,” Joe whisper-yelled the last two words.
“No. No, absolutely not.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’d like to keep my friends, thank you very much.”
Joe rolled his eyes. “But do you want her to be all over him every time she’s around him? Is that what you want?”
I didn’t say anything, just stared at Ally totally hitting on Nick in disgust. I felt pretty okay with Nick not letting her get to him until I saw a change in his eyes.
They sparkled.
Like they had when he said he really liked me.
Is he still in love with Ally, too?!

CHAPTER 12
I didn’t realize it, but I looked close to tears when Nick approached me after Ally FINALLY left. He looked half-concerned, like a brother would, but not like a boyfriend. I was beginning to have second thoughts about this whole “dating Nick and keeping it a secret” thing. Also, just about dating Nick in general. I should have known that Ally was lying about not liking him anymore.
When he jogged back to Kevin, Joe, and I, I rolled my eyes. “What’s wrong, Chris?” He asked, obviously still only half-concerned.
I didn’t say anything back. Nick looked at his brothers with a confused expression. They just shrugged their shoulders and pretended to be lost.
“Chris, tell me what’s wrong!” He persisted.
I squinted at him and pursed my lips in anger. But still, I didn’t say anything.
“Tell me!” He said again.
I was still squinting at him when I lied, “It’s irrelevant. Don’t sweat it.” I gritted my teeth as I tried to smile.
He stared me down for a minute, but thankfully I was good at resisting stare-downs. He stopped and accepted my answer.
“Well, we have to go now, don’t we Nick?” Kevin asked, trying to cut through the tense air.
“Yep, let’s go,” Nick agreed.
“Bye Christie,” they said in unison, each hugging me quickly. Nick’s hug was super awkward for me. I didn’t know if I should still believe that he likes me or if I should let him down easy before he lets me down hard.
I didn’t choose either one. I didn’t want to believe it, but I didn’t want to dump him. I still liked him a lot. I mean, if he’s flirting with her, then I won’t like him. OBVIOUSLY. But for now, I guess I’d have to try to tolerate it.
I sulked back into the house, glancing quickly at the clock. It was still the early afternoon, so I decided to just blast music for the rest of the day. And think.
After a few hours of my iPod playing in my speakers (not my iHome) set on shuffle, a certain song that came on caught my attention. “Positive”, from Legally Blonde: The Musical. Most of it perfectly explained my life right now. Except for all that stuff about stripping and all that. But these lyrics stuck out to me:
“Honey whatcha cryin at?
You're not losing him to that
Both her hair and shoes are flat
Why is she so rude?
Wipe your tears, it's no big thing
You were meant to wear his ring
Cheer-up, chin-up
Its time to bring a happy attitude
Keep it positive
As you slap her to the floor
Keep it positive
As you pull her hair and call her wh***
You can take her in a fight
You and he will reunite!
You know we're right
We're positive…”
Basically the whole first part of the song. It was weird how much I could relate to it.
After dinner, I went back up to my room and blasted my iPod again. I played this song over and over again. Soon I saw Nick outside my window, throwing pebbles at it. I opened it, rolling my eyes.
“What do you want?” I asked, the song restarting in the background.
“To talk—is that song about me?!”
“Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t.”
“Is it or isn’t it? Answer me. I’m tired of all this lying.”
“You can answer it yourself, if you were paying attention to yourself today.”
“What are you saying?”
“All I’m saying is, next time Ally’s around, pay attention to yourself. Feelings show on your face more than you think.”
And with that, I closed the window and ignored him as he threw more pebbles. Eventually, he gave up and went home with a riddle to crack.
Good. He needed to think about what happened that day. He needed to think about who he liked (or loved) and make up his mind.
I gradually fell into a deep sleep, my music still blasting. But when I woke up in the morning, my iPod was completely dead. I hate how unreliable those things are sometimes. Especially when you really need it. I stood up and plugged it into my iHome to charge, when I noticed a piece of paper taped to one of the doors on my balcony.
I threw my hair in a ponytail and opened the doors. I ripped the paper off of the door and opened it slowly. It was written in an unfortunately familiar messy handwriting. Who’s, exactly, you ask?
Who’s do you think? Just guess. I dare you. I bet half of you already know who it is.

CHAPTER 13
If you guessed Nick—OH MY GOSH GOLLY—you’re correct! That was SO hard to guess, I know! (I was being sarcastic.) But if you DIDN’T guess Nick, then we should start hanging out. No, really, we should. That just shows that he isn’t always the first person you think of, and right now I’d kind of like to have it that way.
All the note said was basically…asking what was wrong with me, why I was acting that way, what I meant when I said that thing before, and just some other irrelevant stuff. He also talked about how he thought he had acted around Ally. Psh, all lies. He said he was trying to get her away from him, but I could TOTALLY see through is lies. Plus, he had erased something that was on the note before. Underneath the thick lines of each individual letter of pencil was a faint message. Well, not really a message, but a thought or feeling or emotion-type thing. Anyways, I examined it closely, picking apart each letter, forming words.
And I couldn’t believe what it said. Well, actually, it didn’t come as THAT much of a surprise to me. Probably won’t surprise you either, I mean, that is, if you’ve been paying attention to what I’ve been ranting on and on about.
The little thought/feeling/emotion-type thing underneath his note to me said:
I LOVE ALLY RAMSEY!! ♥♥♥♥
And it was RECENT. Like, today or at the oldest, yesterday or something. Of course, he thought that erasing it and writing over it with thicker, darker, and harder writing (even still in PENCIL) would cover it up. Uh, not likely. I have EYES, in case he didn’t know that. Apparently not.
I changed into a fresh new outfit, brushed my teeth, and went downstairs. I had a bowl of Frosted Cheerios (my favorite), and walked out the door. I didn’t tell my mom WHERE I was going, only that I WAS GOING. So…she wouldn’t get mad, you know?
But I think you all know where I was going, don’t you? If you don’t…then there’s no hope for you. Alright, alright, I’m just kidding. Gosh. What I meant was, you should at least have an assumption…coughJonascoughcough. Does that help at all?
I walked up to the front door, rang the doorbell, and fingered around with the note. I had brought it with me to show Nick the lies he’d been shoving in my face.
But Nick didn’t answer the door. Joe did. He let me inside.
“Hey, Joe,” I said.
“Hey, Chris. What’s up?” He smiled.
“Is Nick home?”
His expression saddened a little bit. “Uh, yeah, he’s…in the living room, I think.”
“Okay, thanks!” I said, skipping into the kitchen, and then into the living room.
I waved to Kevin (Jr. and Sr.), Denise, and Frankie as I skipped by. Soon I got into the living room, and there—like Joe had said—was Nick, sitting there, writing. Or doodling. It was hard to tell. I snuck up behind him and saw what he was doodling.
Basically the same thing that had been on the note to me, only more hearts and more “Ally” written everywhere…it was kind of creepy in a way, actually. But EXTREMELY hurtful, as always.
He turned around and jumped as he noticed that I was standing behind him, looking at his doodles. I went to the front of the couch and stood there with my arms crossed, tapping my foot.
“I…I…it’s not what you think!”
“Mhm,” I said, pursing my lips as I did so. “So how do you explain this?” I held the note just a few inches from his face.
“It’s a note. I was explaining stuff that you didn’t understand. What about it?”
“Look closer.”
“I don’t see anything.”
“Closer.”
He squinted. “What am I looking for again?”
“Just look for something BEHIND the note that you wrote to me.”
His face went pale as he noticed what I wanted him to see. But he still lied. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t see anything.”
“Yeah, uh huh, RIGHT.”
Nick looked up at me and stared at me for a few seconds. I tried to break him as he did so.
“Do the words ‘I LOVE ALLY RAMSEY’ ring a bell, Nick?” I asked, raising my eyebrows.
He looked back at the paper and up at my guiltily, but didn’t say anything about being guilty. “Well, yeah, from the past. Not anymore. I love you, Christie.”
It looked painful for him to say those last four words. But you know, I didn’t feel like causing another scene here (at least today), so I just said, “Okey dokey, whatever.” and walked out to the front door again.
But before I could open it and leave, Joe grabbed my arm. “Are you sure he’s telling the truth?” He asked.
“I don’t know…Why does it matter? I’ll figure it out sometime…” I looked at Joe’s hand holding my arm.
“I just don’t want to see you get hurt.”
I looked up at him and our eyes locked. We stared at each other for a few seconds.
And there was something about his eyes. Something…something different, you know? But I couldn’t place my finger on it. When we finally broke our gaze by the sound of Nick walking into the kitchen, he let go of my arm.
I opened the door. Just before I walked out, I said, “Don’t worry about me. I’m pretty sure I’ll be okay. If I’m not, then I can at least say I was wrong.” I walked out, turned around, and he winked at me.
Joe winked at me. JOE. Winked at me. JOE. Of all people.
I thought about what Nick said. I thought about what Joe said. I rinsed and repeated (haha, not really rinsed, but it just made sense). I kept going back to that moment where Joe and I were just staring at each other. When he winked at me afterwards. I didn’t know what to think. I didn’t know what to feel.
So I closed my eyes and hoped for the best.

Here's the next chapter :) Sorry for the long wait.
CHAPTER 14
I awoke later that day (before dinner, but after lunch) to a very loud sound coming from downstairs. I ran downstairs and immediately noticed something was different. Something was off. I walked a little farther into the kitchen when I noticed my twin brother lying on the floor, and appeared to be sleeping.
What was he doing here? He hates my mom. Why would he come back?
But as I walked closer, I realized he wasn’t asleep. I saw a bullet-hole in his head, and blood was pouring out in many places on his body. I couldn’t breathe. I grasped the countertop just so I could stay standing and not faint or throw up.
I looked past Ben’s dead body and saw my mom holding the gun. The gun I told Nick about a week ago or something. The gun that we only used for protection purposes. I was so mad at my mom.
“BEN!?!?!” I screamed. “WHY DID YOU KILL HIM?!?!”
“Because he tried to come home. He tried to break in.”
“BREAK IN HOW?! HOW DO YOU KNOW HE DIDN’T JUST WANT TO TALK TO ME?!”
“Well…he tried to come in the front door.”
“AND?!?!” I was furious at my mom; I swear I would’ve shot her there if the gun was in my hands.
“He tried to unlock it with his spare key.”
“HOW IS THAT BREAKING IN?!?!”
“I hate Ben, and you know that, Christie.”
“ANSWER MY QUESTION.”
“It’s not breaking in, but then he tried to come in through the window.”
“SO!? WHAT DID HE SAY HE WANTED TO DO WHEN HE CAME IN?!?!”
“He didn’t say anything. I killed him right then and there.”
“HOW COULD YOU?!!? YOU…MONSTER!!!” I stared at my mom with red-hot eyes and fists clenched. She didn’t hesitate to point the gun at me.
I stood there in shock. WHY would she point the gun at ME? Didn’t she like me?
“I’m sorry, Christie. But if you don’t stop yelling, I may be forced to shoot you too.”
“You don’t have the guts,” I said, slowly walking closer.
Suddenly our front door opened. Wow, Ben was really stupid; it was UNLOCKED. I looked back, my mom’s gun still positioned right at my head (by then I was right in front of her), and was a little relieved with who I saw walk through the door.
Kevin, Joe, and Nick.
They all stood there, wide-eyed. I got Nick’s attention and pointed to Ben, then pointed to my mom. I shrugged my shoulders like it was no big deal.
But it was. Truth be told, I was scared out of my mind. I didn’t want my mom to kill me, especially in front of my…boyfriend…and his brothers. One of which was acting weird around me (Joe).
They tried to talk to my mom, but she kept the gun at my head. “If all of you don’t stop trying to tell me I was wrong, I WILL shoot. I WILL.”
“Even at your own daughter?” I whispered. She was close enough to hear. I caught her eyes and looked deep inside her soul. She wouldn’t. She wouldn’t and she couldn’t shoot me. For more reasons than one, and more reasons than she knew herself.
“Yes, even at my own daughter,” she said back.
I shrugged and glanced back at the boys. “Okay then, do it. Do it now.”
The got all wide-eyed and my mom looked a little nervous. “What are you waiting for? Shoot me, woman! Or do you not have the guts?”
Her expression turned from nervous to furious as she put her finger on the trigger. I winked at the brothers as she closed her eyes and pulled it.
Remember, the gun is still right at my head, so…yeah. You get the picture.
But it wasn’t a bloody mess when she pulled the trigger. Nope.
I had remembered something from my past, which made my confident nothing would happen to me. When my dad left us, but not for a bad reason. Anyways, he left the gun for us, for protection purposes. And I remember him saying that there was only ONE bullet in it. One. That was also for protection purposes, so if the gun got into the wrong hands (i.e. my mom’s, right now at least), they wouldn’t be able to shoot more than one bullet.
Sounds gory and deranged, I know. But it’s not. Oh, and have you been putting the pieces together as I explained that?
You should have been. It’s not that hard to guess.
I pretended to fall to the ground. I fell on my face, so she wouldn’t see if there was a bullet-hole or not. But obviously, the Jonases didn’t get the hint, when I had winked at them before; I was letting them know that I knew what would happen. They thought I was dead though. I managed to hold my laughter in when they came over to my mom, took the gun away, and ran back to me. They all knelt down next to me.
My mom ran upstairs crying, obviously oblivious also. And as soon as the Jonases rolled me onto my back, they were amazed.
“Wait, why isn’t there a bullet-hole?” Nick asked, slightly freaked out.
I couldn’t help it anymore. “Because there wasn’t a bullet, dumbo!” I said.
“Christie? You’re…you’re alive?”
“Yeah, because there was only one bullet in the gun, which my mom used to kill Ben. All that hit me right then was like…air.” I started laughing, but my mom thankfully couldn’t hear us.
Nick touched my forehead, making sure I was telling the truth. I grabbed his hand and held it in mine.
“Dudes, I’m not lying. Why else would I be talking to you right now?” I raised my eyebrows, still holding Nick’s hand.
“So…so you’re okay, right?” Joe asked, really concerned.
“Yes, I’m fine. Now let me stand up.”
Nick helped me stand up by pulling on my hand. All four of us just stood there for a few seconds and didn’t say a word. Nick pulled me to the side, away from his brothers, so we could talk.
“Look, I’m sorry about everything,” he began.
“If you still love her, then just break up with stupid ol’ me and date her.”
“I…I don’t know why I did that, Chris. I honestly don’t. I guess it just felt like old times being around her, and…it just kind of ‘clicked’ at that moment. But now, now I realize, that I like you.”
He stroked my hair with his other hand as he said it. He stared into my eyes, and I melted.
I guess he was telling the truth, after all.
I saw Joe look over at us talking (Nick had his back to his brothers, and I was facing them, from far away of course). He was smiling on the outside, but what was he thinking? I tried to see deeper than the surface, but I couldn’t. He was too hard to understand.
I looked away from Joe, and remembered Ben’s lifeless body on the floor. I let go of Nick’s hand and jogged over to the Ben. I knelt down beside him.
I stroked his hair, face, and arms. Tears started to fall from my eyes, and formed a little pool next to his hand. Nick knelt down next to me, put his arm around me, and allowed me to cry on his shoulder. Joe knelt down next to me and Kevin next to him, and all hugged me to help ease my pain. And before I stood up, I held Ben’s hand tightly in mine, trying to find any signs of life left in his body. Nothing. I stared at him for a minute, thinking about how happy I was to see him at Six Flags.
“Come on, let’s go, Chris,” Nick said quietly, pulling me up slowly. I walked to their house with them, looking back once more at Ben’s cold, lifeless body.
Kevin and Joe proceeded into the living room in their house (when we got there), but Nick stopped me and we stood in the foyer.
I didn’t say anything, just stared at him staring at me. He reached his hand up and stroked my hair and face with one of his hands. His mouth was slightly open.
Suddenly, he leaned in for a kiss. Shocked, but happy, I leaned in also. We kissed. And it was the most amazing kiss in the entire world.
When we both pulled away, Nick was still stroking my hair and face. We were really close to each other, also. “I know it’s bad timing, but,” he sighed and hesitated for a second, “I love you, Christie.”
I grinned and melted. “I love you too, Nick.”
Just then, I noticed Joe out of the corner of my eye, peeking into the foyer. Nick obviously didn’t see him. He looked a tad upset, but also a little happy. UGH, I still don’t understand that boy.
Nick’s fingers slowly intertwined with mine. I looked at him and he grinned at me. I smiled back. He led me into the living room, which I guess is where they all spend most of their time.
Joe had already gotten comfortable with his legs up on the couch when he saw us walking in. Kevin gave him a look and he took his legs off the couch so we could sit down together. Nick and I walked in and sat down on the couch. I was next to Joe, and Nick was on my right side, next to the armrest. Kevin was sitting on a chair that was adjacent to the couch.
Kevin and Joe had had the TV on since before we came in. I didn’t really notice what show was on, because Nick and I were getting all cuddly and lovey-dovey the whole time we were in the living room. At one point, I saw Joe roll his eyes and walk out of the room when Nick whispered something in my ear and I giggled. He had obviously had enough of all of it. Kevin TRIED to block it out, but it was noticeably hard for him, also. At one point, he cleared his throat and Nick and I stopped to look at him. He rolled his eyes, but I just cuddled practically onto Nick’s lap. After that, we just sat there, watching TV. Joe returned into the room, and when he sat down next to me, I patted his leg a little in reassurance. He smiled at me when I did so.
I grinned back, and then returned to Nick. I sat up a little bit and played with his hair. I twirled his curls around my finger, ran my fingers through his hair, and ruffled it. In return, Nick stroked my hair too. I took my hand down and laid my head on his shoulder.
And to think I questioned Nick’s love. To think I was actually thinking of breaking up with him before. He was the best thing that’s ever happened to me—he made me forget about all the horrible things in my life, like Ben’s death.
Soon I got off the couch, saying that I probably should get home, to let my mom know I was okay and all that. Nick got up with me, and I hugged Kevin and Joe before going to the front door. I felt Nick reach for my hand and hold it as he walked me to the front door.
He opened the door for me, and I smiled at him before saying, “Can you ask Joe what’s up? He’s been acting all weird around me lately.”
Nick looked suspicious. “Sure, I’ll ask.”
“Thanks!”
I smiled, Nick smiled, and I slowly let go of his hand. I walked home, and Nick watched as I did so, and didn’t close the door until he knew I was safely inside my house. How sweet is he? Sigh.
I took out my house key from my pocket and shoved it into the lock. I opened the door, only to find police and paramedics inside my house.
“Why, hello there,” one of the policemen said as I walked over to where they were picking up Ben’s body.
“Hi…where’s my mom?” I honestly actually didn’t care though.
“She’s been arrested.”
“Really? Why?”
“I think you know why,” he said, pointing to Ben.
“Right. So she’s been arrested…that’s nice,” I said solemnly.
The policeman seemed shocked by my reaction. But I just shrugged my shoulders and said, “Let me know when you’re finished, okay? Thanks.”
“Wait, what do you want to do with the body?”
“I don’t know yet…I mean, he IS my brother…what do you think I should do with him?”
“Whatever he would’ve wanted.”
“Then I’ll plan a funeral for him later. Where will you keep him until then?”
“In the hospital. We have a special room for people…er, deceased people.”
“Alright, thank you very much for coming!”
“You’re welcome?”
“Bye!”
I ran upstairs into my room happily.
My mom was arrested. My brother’s body was going to be kept safely inside the hospital until I planned a funeral for him. I had the best boyfriend in the world. I had the best friends (excluding Ally for what she did with Nick, but I still kind of like her as a friend) in the world. Everything was amazing.
I sighed as I stared at the ceiling in my room. I daydreamed, before falling asleep and having actual dreams.

CHAPTER 15
After napping for about an hour, I woke up at about 6 to have dinner that night. I watched TV for the rest of the night, and Nick was constantly texting me.
Sup?
Nm. Mom got arrested. =)
Really?
Yep. Police & paramedics came by earlier to pick up Ben’s body also.
Cool. What r u going to do with it?
Funeral…I’ll plan it sooner or later.
LOL. What r u doing right now?
Watching TV.
What show?
Movie. ‘Star Wars II’.
Really?!
Yeah. I <3 that movie!
LOL.
What r u doing?
Watching TV also.
What show?
‘Dirty Jobs’, LOL.
Oh I <3 that show too! LOL.
LOL. Ur weird…in a good way.
Thanks? LOL. What did Joe say? Did you ask him?
Yep. He said he was acting normal though. How was he acting exactly?
He just smiles and gets all happy when I’m around.
Anything else?
He winked at me.
=o OMG he did?!
Yep. Ask him why. Say Christie said to ask him.
OK. Asking him right now.
Well…what did he say?
He punched me. In the gut.
OUCH. I’m so sorry!!
No, no, it’s not your fault. He also said he wanted to talk to you.
…
Christie?
He wants to talk to me? Fine, put him on and have him text me back.
OK here he is…Hey Chris, it’s Joe!
Hey Joe.
Sup?
Why did you wink at me?
What do you mean?
When I left like…a couple days ago or something. You winked at me.
No I didn’t.
Stop denying it.
I didn’t wink at you. I had something in my eye.
Mhm, yeah right. Tell me, please?
No.
Please? *makes puppy dog face*
Fine. I winked at you because…
Because?
Because….I…I…
Why, just tell me!?
I can’t.
Why not?
Because.
Why?
I just can’t, alright?!
Fine. Put Nick back on.
Here he is…OK, it’s Nick again.
Hey.
What did Joe say?
You weren’t reading over his shoulder?
No, he said if I did he’d kill me. So what’d he say?
He said he couldn’t tell me.
Why not?
I don’t know! He said that he just couldn’t tell me for some reason.
That’s stupid.
I KNOW!!
So…what r u doing 2morrow?
What do u mean?
Well…do u want to go to the movies?
Sure! What movie?
Hmm…what movies are out right now?
I don’t know…how about ‘Prom Night’?
‘Prom Night’? I thought you didn’t like scary movies.
I heard it’s not THAT scary. And plus, I’ll have u to protect me. ;-)
Alright, ‘Prom Night’ it is!
Let’s go to the one that’s in the afternoon…I think it’s @ 3 or something.
Sure, I’ll check and make sure right now.
OK.
Yep, it’s at 3. I’ll pick you up @ 2:30?
Sure. Can’t wait!
Me either!
Gotta go, my favorite part of the movie is almost on. Bye!!
Bye, love you!!
Love you too!! <3
<3333
I closed my phone, and resumed watching the movie. As soon as it was over, the third Star Wars movie was on TV, so I watched part of it, but fell asleep when it got really late into the night. I woke up the next morning, still on the couch.

Alright, fine, here's the next chapter:
CHAPTER 16
I got off the couch, grimacing at how uncomfortable my position was and how much my body hurt because of it. I looked at the clock. It said 12:30. I ran upstairs swiftly to change and do my hair and makeup before having lunch and before Nick picked me up. I put on a denim mini skirt, a t-shirt with a vest over it, a pair of hi-top Converse, and some funky bracelets. I straightened my hair and left it down.
I put on my makeup (as natural as possible, of course) and went back downstairs to make myself lunch. I glanced at the clock again, and it was already 1:15 by the time my lunch was ready and I started eating. Once I was done eating, it was already 1:45. Yep, it takes me a while to eat lunch, I know.
After putting my dishes in the dishwasher, I opened my phone and got another text from Nick.
Chris? U awake? Haha.
Yeah, I just woke up @ 12:30. How did u know I’d sleep in pretty late?
Just a hunch, knowing you. LOL.
LOL. True, true.
So, wanna go out to dinner after the movie?
Sure! That’d be so fun! Where to?
The name is a surprise, but it’s dressy, so…
I need fancy clothes?
To change into, of course. Wear whatever u want to the movies.
What r u wearing to the movies?
The usual—skinny jeans, t-shirt, vans.
LOL.
What r u wearing?
Denim skirt, t-shirt, vest, converse. LOL =P
Haha. I’ll wear a vest so we can match. What color is yours?
Mine is black.
Awesome, I’m wearing a black vest then. It’ll match my outfit perfectly.
Haha, you’re such a guy! LOL.
And you’re such a girl!
Thank you, LOL. Oh what r u wearing for dinner too?
A tux.
Color?
Hmm…should I wear white or black?
I don’t really care. Choose one.
I’ll wear…black then.
What color tie?
What color will match your outfit?
Do u have a light pink one?
Yep.
Wear that. My dress is light pink and black. Haha.
LOL that’s ironic.
I know.
Okay, well, gotta get ready. See u @ 2:30!
Bye! LOVE YOU!
LOVE YOU MORE!!

<333
I sighed and closed my phone again. I ran upstairs and put my light pink and black dress, high heels, clutch, and jewelry into a bag. Thankfully, if the dress wrinkles, it won’t show that much. Yay! Ha, ha, I crack myself up.
I opened the door when I heard a car horn honk twice. My eyes got wide and my jaw dropped a little when I saw what was waiting. It was a stretch limo, and Nick was standing outside of it, waiting for me with his hands behind his back.
“Oh my gosh Nick, this is…this is amazing! We’re going in a limo?!”
Obviously Nick was happy with my reaction, because he smiled and said, “Yes, and I can tell it was a good choice!”
I smiled a wide, ear-to-ear smile as I walked up to him. “What’s behind your back?”
“Oh, nothing.”
“What is it? Tell me!” I gave him a puppy dog face.
“Sorry, can’t tell you.”
“Please?” I asked, grabbing his arm gently. “It’ll make me really happy!”
He laughed. “You’re so funny when you want something.”
“Well, I wouldn’t have to be funny if you just told me what it was!”
“You really want to know?”
“Yes, I do!”
“Alright, then I’ll just show it to you.”
He slowly pulled his hands out from behind his back, revealing an amazingly beautiful necklace. On the chain dangled a diamond outline of a heart, with a tiny N in the center.
My jaw dropped and I melted immediately. He told me to hold up my hair. I got goosebumps as he walked behind me and gently put it around my neck. I let my hair fall and I held the necklace ever so gently in my other hand. Nick stared at me, ecstatic that I liked the present.
I looked up at him. “I love it!!” I cried, kissing him on the lips.
After the kiss, Nick opened the door to the limo for me and let me go inside first. He took my bag and his bag of clothes for dinner later and put them in the trunk of the limo. He stepped into the limo and closed the door. He sat next to me and we both buckled up. The driver commenced driving us to the movie theater.
“Why did you get me this? You really shouldn’t have,” I said apologetically.
“I wanted you to know how much I love you. And this was the perfect way.”
I grinned, going back to examining the necklace, holding it in my hand. Nick placed his hand on top of mine after a while and delicately brought it down. I looked up at him, and he tenderly kissed me on the lips again. He put his arm around me afterwards, and we had a conversation about our shoes.
“You’re wearing Vans, I’m wearing Converse, and yet, they both have yellow on them. How cool is that?” I said, tilting my head as I looked at both our feet.
“Yeah, I guess we both had the same thought. Even though my Vans have red, blue and green on them also.”
“That’s so cool though. We think alike when it comes to style. I mean, look at our outfits. You’re wearing jeans that are practically the same color as my skirt, our shirts are very similar, and our vests are the same color—even though we planned that.”
“Wow,” he said. “You’re right.”
“I know, I’m just always right,” I said, laughing.
Nick laughed along, and soon we got to the movie theater. He got out, opened the door for me, and held my hand as I stepped out. We closed the door, and the limousine driver parked in the parking lot, awaiting our exit later.
We walked into the movie theater, and Nick bought two tickets to ‘Prom Night’. He led me into the theater in which it would be playing, and we found two seats at the very top in the back.
During the commercial things before the previews, Nick asked, “Do you want anything? Popcorn, soda?”
“Not popcorn. I hate popcorn.”
He smiled. “So do I, so that’s good.”
“Are you getting soda?”
“I was thinking of getting a Diet Coke. Want me to just get a large and we can share?”
“Sure, but remember to get TWO straws, okay?”
He laughed. “Okay, be back in a few.”
He kissed my cheek and went off to buy the Diet Coke. When he came back, the previews started. I think we drank ¾ of the soda during the previews and the last ¼ during the first 5 minutes of the movie. Nick took the soda out of the cup holder in between us and moved it to the one next to him. I put up the armrest between us, and we both scooted closer together.
The movie actually didn’t end up being that scary, excluding a few parts. I screamed a couple times (knowing me and how scared I get), but I wasn’t the only one. Nick also screamed when I screamed (no, not just because I did, because he was also a little scared). I’d just look at him and giggle quietly and he’d turn really red. It was hilarious. He put his arm around me about halfway through the movie, too.
After the movie, we threw the drink out, and both went to the bathroom before going back to the limo. We took out the bags from the trunk and ran back inside the movie theater to change. Nick and I had made a deal that if you finished, you’d go right to the limo, no questions asked. Nick was done first, and he walked outside and stood next to the limo. Soon I was finished also, and walked outside. I went around the corner, and Nick saw me. He was in awe.
“Christie, you look…amazing!” He said, putting his hand around my waist as I caught up with him just a few feet from the limo.
“You look amazing, too, Nick!”
We got in the limo and commenced to the restaurant. I was stunned when I saw what restaurant it was.

CHAPTER 17
Island Prime.
That was the restaurant we were at.
It was FANTASTIC. The view was outstanding, and the dinner was phenomenal.
After we ate dinner, we took a walk out on the beach that the restaurant was on.
My dress was about knee-length, so I held my heels in my hand and twirled it a little bit at times while we were walking.
Nick had taken his shoes off also, and was holding them. We eventually stopped walking and put our shoes down to stand there and watch the waves. Nick caught my by surprise by pushing me forward a little and I almost fell into the water.
I yelped and just barely stopped myself from falling in and getting drenched. “What’d you do that for?!” I turned around and asked, smiling.
He shrugged. A smile slowly grew on his face. I ran back up to him and pushed him. He almost fell in also, and then he pulled me over to where he was. I pranced around on the wet sand, while the waves lapped at my toes. Nick started chasing me as I got farther away. I turned around and ran in the opposite direction, laughing. He started laughing, and tried to block me from running back where I had just left, but still, I passed him. He grabbed one of my hands quickly as I ran by, and I fell down onto the (dry) sand on my knees. I cracked up laughing and he stood next to me, smiling. I held up both of my hands, and he lifted me off the ground. Letting go of my hands, Nick reached down and rolled up his pants about to his knees. He stood up and held my right hand. He led me into the shallow water. The water was cold, but the warmth of Nick’s hand mostly blocked it out. He twirled me around with his hand—like you do when you slow dance. After a while, the sun started setting, and we looked out, still holding hands, and watched it.
And if you’re wondering, yes, we did kiss. Nick pulled me in, catching me by surprise. A good surprise, of course. He kissed me, and we basically made-out for a few minutes. He’s an AMAZING kisser. But I guess I should’ve figured that out by now. I mean, he’s probably kissed so many other girls in his lifetime.
Nick pulled away slowly after a few minutes. We both opened our eyes, and he was breathing slightly heavier than before. “Want to go home now?”
I laughed a little. “Only if you want to.”
“Let’s just walk back down the beach then, back to the limo.”
“I’m cool with that!”
We picked up our shoes and walked back down the long stretch of beach, on our way back to the limo. Practically the whole time, we were either laughing, smiling, teasing each other, prancing around in the wet sand and the waves rolling in, etc. Soon we got back to the limo and got in.
“That was SO much fun! Probably the best date ever!” I exclaimed a few minutes into the car ride.
“Probably?” Nick asked, slightly nervous.
“Sorry, I meant it was THE best date ever!”
He smiled. I laughed and rolled my eyes.
As soon as we got to my house, Nick got out and opened the door for me. He got my bag of clothes out of the trunk and handed it to me as we walked to the front door. We stood there kind of awkwardly.
“So…” he said.
“So…” I repeated.
We laughed nervously and I decided to end the awkwardness by kissing him quickly on the lips again. I opened the front door and said goodbye. I walked inside and slowly closed the door. I stared at the empty rooms around me, suddenly feeling a chill go down my spine. I swung the door open again, and thankfully, Nick was still walking back to the limo.
“Nick,” I said loudly.
He turned around, surprised. “What is it, Chris?”
“Can I sleep over at your house tonight?”
He didn’t ask why, he knew exactly what I would say. “Sure, of course.”
“Great, let me just grab some things from my room and I’ll be out in a second.”
I ran back inside and up the stairs, not hesitating to dash into my room and rip open my dresser. I pulled out my pajamas, some clothes for the next day, my hairbrush, my toothbrush and toothpaste, and extra makeup. I tossed the stuff I had been wearing earlier onto my bed and filled the back with all the other things. I ran downstairs, still dressed in my fancy clothes and heels, and dashed into the limo. Nick was already inside of it, and the limo driver dropped us off at his house. After Nick took his bag out of the back, the driver drove away.
As soon as Nick opened the door, he was bombed with questions from Kevin and Joe. They didn’t realize I was behind him until a really awkward question—“Is she a good kisser?” From Joe.
“Hello,” I said awkwardly, peeking out from behind Nick.
Joe’s face went completely pale. “Why would you even want to know?” Nick asked him calmly.
“Never mind,” was Joe’s response.
I laughed a tiny bit and took off my shoes when we got inside. “Whoa, Christie, you look amazing,” Kevin said.
“Thanks, that’s what he said,” I replied, pointing to Nick. He smiled back at me.
“I agree,” Joe said. I laughed.
“Enough with the compliments. I’m going to go change out of this outfit into my pajamas, that okay, Nick?” I asked, turning to him.
“Sure, you know where the bathrooms are.”
“Alright, thanks!” I ran off to find a vacant bathroom so I could change, leaving Kevin and Joe utterly confused in the foyer.
“What’s going on?” Kevin asked suspiciously.
“She asked if she could sleep over. Because…you know,” Nick explained, unspecific.
“So where is she going to sleep?”
“On the floor I guess.”
“Yeah, good choice, because…over my dead body she’s sleeping with you!” Kevin said, recalling when Ally had before. He didn’t want to have anymore of that.
“Whatever. She’s staying in my room though.”
“Just don’t try anything.”
Nick held up his hand to reveal his purity ring, which said “Poned”.
“Still,” Kevin persisted.
“Whatever, dude.”
I returned from changing, wearing shorts and a tank top. All three of them were still standing in the foyer.
“Um, are you going to change, Nick? I don’t think you want to sleep in a tux, do you?”
“Yeah, I was just about to go up to my room.”
“Alright. And where am I going to be sleeping?”
“In my room, on the floor.”
“Fun,” I said sarcastically.
“Yeah. So just wait here until I’m in my pajamas, okay?”
“Sure.”
He walked up the stairs, into his room. I saw the door shut, and then realized Kevin and Joe were still standing next to me.
“Hello,” I repeated from before.
“So…tell us about your date!” Kevin exclaimed.
“What do you want to know?”
“Everything.”
“Okay…” I explained the whole date to them. At times I saw Joe get all nervous or angry or upset or something…and others Joe looked perfectly normal. It was weird. Kevin was just intent on knowing what happened, as any big brother (or parent) might.
Nick’s door opened, and he motioned me upstairs. “Well, enough of this gush-fest. I’m going to drop my stuff off in Nick’s room.”
I skipped happily up the stairs and went into Nick’s room. It was a typical guy’s room. The walls were royal blue, and he had some band posters hanging up. He had a king size bed in the corner, along with a dresser, bookcase, closet, and desk. It was a huge room though. And it was very clean and neat. Just then I saw Nick pull out some blankets and pillows from his closet.
“For you,” he said, handing them to me.
I’m sleeping on the floor with just blankets and pillows? What am I, a dog or something? I thought.
But as if he read my mind, Nick pulled out something else. It was a blowup mattress. Duh, of course. I should’ve thought of that.
He blew it up with an electronic thing, and then I put the blankets on it. I put the two pillows I was going to use on it also and dropped my bag next to it.
“There, all set,” I said, grinning at my work.
“Perfect. Let’s go downstairs, then,” he agreed, motioning me to the stairs. I ran down, Nick following close behind.
“What do you want to do?” I asked all three of them, as we sat in the living room bored out of our minds.
“I don’t know; what do you want to do?” Joe asked.
We all sighed. I started humming something out of boredom.
“What are you humming?” Nick asked; intrigued.
“Oh, nothing…”
“No, really, what are you humming?”
“Well…if you MUST know, I’m humming ‘Burning Up’.”
“Do you sing?”
“What?”
“Are you a singer, do you sing?”
“Um, I CAN sing, if that’s what you’re asking. I don’t usually, though.”
“Sing. Sing ‘Burning Up’. We want to hear you sing.”
“Um…”
“Yeah, sing, Christie!” Joe and Kevin exclaimed.
“Alright, fine. Just don’t hesitate to cover your ears.”
I started singing the first couple lines of the song and saw all three of them become totally bug-eyed. I sang the rest of the song and they applauded me.
“WOW. You’re voice is AMAZING!” Nick said, still bug-eyed.
“Gee, thanks.”
“Why don’t you like to sing that much?” Kevin asked.
“It’s not that I don’t like to sing…I don’t want to sing, for fear of what people will think…”
“Well, what do you think they’ll think now?! After our reactions?”
I laughed a little. “I think they’ll like it. I think I like to sing in front of people now.”
“What other songs can you sing?” Joe questioned.
“Broadway…”
“BROADWAY?!?!” They all yelled.
“Yeah…”
“Sing something!!” Kevin yelled.
“Okay.”
And so I sang “So Much Better” from Legally Blonde: The Musical. It was awkward singing some parts, but it was just fun. And they were amazed.
During the song I stood up and was strutting around and dancing while I was singing. I wasn’t ever out of breath. Nick stood up and grabbed my shoulders.
“Why are you hiding such an amazing gift from the world?!”
“I don’t know…stage fright?”
“No more stage fright for you. We’re getting you signed with Hollywood Records.”
“Oh, no, no, no. My mom would—“
“Your mom’s in jail, remember?” Nick raised his eyebrows.
“You’re right! Um…so when are you—“
“We. We have to bring us with you to demonstrate your ability to get you signed, duh.”
“Right, so when are we going to go to the record company?”
“Tomorrow?”
“Fine with me.”
Kevin and Joe both nodded in agreement. “This will be so much fun!” Joe exclaimed.
I laughed, and he immediately perked up. Nick noticed, but didn’t care. I glanced at the clock and realized what time it was. It was almost 11:30. I poked Nick’s arm and he looked at the clock too.
“Oh, it’s getting really late. We’re going to sleep,” Nick grabbed my elbow and started leading me to the stairs.
“Goodnight!” I yelled behind me. I heard Kevin and Joe repeat it to Nick and I.
They’re parents and little brother were already asleep, and obviously slept really well, because they didn’t wake up while I was singing and we were yelling and stuff.
Nick and I brushed our teeth, and went into his room. I put my hair in a ponytail and hugged Nick. I lied down on the blowup mattress that was my bed for the night, and pulled the covers up over my body, leaving my arms, shoulders, neck, and head out of them.
“Goodnight, Nick. I love you,” I said, yawning.
“Night, Chris. I love you too.”
He turned off the light and we both fell asleep pretty quickly. I dreamt of the date that day, and of what was to come at Hollywood Records.
I was way too excited to sleep, but I had to. And I was so happy that I was going to wake up and see Nick in his bed, a few feet from me. It just felt right…I didn’t want to live alone. But I had to. I didn’t think Kevin, Joe, Nick, Denise, Kevin Sr., and Frankie would want me living in their house like Ally once did.
Or maybe they would. I’d just have to ask later. Now, sleep. I command you, brain. SLEEP.
Hey, it worked.

LOL thanks guys. Here's the next chapter:
CHAPTER 18
I woke up the next morning, and Nick was still asleep. It was actually pretty early when I woke up—7 AM. Yeah, that’s like, a first for me.
I quietly got out of my makeshift bed and walked downstairs on tiptoe. As soon as I got into the kitchen, I realized Joe was awake too. He was making himself coffee.
“Morning, Joe. Making yourself a cup of Joe, are we?” I joked and he laughed.
“Sure, if you want to put it that way. Want breakfast?”
“Okay, what’s on the menu?”
“Cereal.”
“What kinds of cereal?”
“Frosted Cheerios. Trix. Corn Flakes. Cocoa Crispies. Special K.”
“Hmm…I’ll have Frosted Cheerios, please.”
“So will I, then.” Joe pulled out the box of Frosted Cheerios and poured two bowls, giving one to me and handing me a spoon also. “Do you want milk?”
“No thanks, I’ll just eat mine dry.”
“Suit yourself then,” he said, shrugging his shoulders and pouring milk into his bowl.
After a few minutes of eating in silence at the island (on stools), I asked, “So…um…why did you wink at me the other day?”
“Hmm?” He asked, chewing his cereal.
“Why did you wink at me the other day?”
He swallowed. “Why do you want to know?”
“I just want to know.”
“Well, you’re not going to believe this, and this doesn’t make me very happy saying it, but—“
“He likes you,” Nick cut him off, walking into the kitchen.
I practically choked on my cereal. Joe glared at Nick, who glared back.
I coughed. “You LIKE me?!”
“Um…yes…” Joe said, looking into his bowl of cereal, which was now mostly milk.
“I’m dating NICK though!”
“But that doesn’t mean I can’t like you.”
“Um…yeah it kinda does, Joe.” I looked at Nick, and then back at Joe. “Was that why you wanted me to break up with Nick?”
“You told her to break up with me?!” Nick shouted at Joe. Still no one woke up. I’m amazed.
“Not told, implied. There’s a difference.”
“Yeah, the difference is I’m going to kick your butt!!”
“Oh, no you’re not!” I said, quickly standing up and grabbing Nick to hold him back.
“LEMME AT HIM!!” He yelled.
“No, calm down! I didn’t break up with you, did I?!” I stared Nick down.
He didn’t say anything, but his body became less tense.
“DID I?!” I said angrily, still staring him down.
He returned back to normal. “I’m sorry for blowing up like that…”
“It’s not your fault, okay? It’s normal to have that reaction. Now let’s have a nice, calm, mature talk about this, alright?” I let go of Nick, and he sat down on the other side of me at the island, pouring himself some Frosted Cheerios. I was in between Joe and Nick.
I turned to Joe. “Do you still like me?”
“A little…”
I turned to Nick. “What do you find most unattractive about me?”
He almost choked on his cereal. He stared at me like I had five heads. “Um…”
“Well?”
“Uh…that…that you own a gun?”
“Perfect.” I turned back to Joe. “Now, here’s how we’ll fix this. If you ever think you like-like me again, just picture me holding the gun about to shoot you.”
Nick laughed, and Joe stared at me like I was an alien. “You wouldn’t shoot me though! Would you?”
“No, of course not. But picture that, okay?”
He was deep in thought for a few minutes.
“So…do you still like-like me?”
“No! I don’t! I mean, I still love you to death as a sister or best friend, but I wouldn’t want to ever be in love with you now.”
“Great! Told you it would work.”
Nick elbowed me in the ribs and whispered in my ear, “How did you know it would work?”
“I didn’t,” I whispered back. “I just wanted to try something to see if it would work, because, I don’t like Joe anymore than a brother or best friend, promise.”
He sighed and smiled happily. We all went back to eating our cereal. By the time we finished, Kevin, Kevin Sr., Denise, and Frankie were all up. I said good morning to them all and then ran upstairs to get out my clothes to change into. I ran into the bathroom and closed and locked the door. I changed, brushed my teeth, and brushed my hair. It was still perfectly straight, so I left it down.
Soon, we drove to the record company studio. Kevin drove, Joe sat in the passenger seat, and Nick and I sat in the back. As soon as we got there, I got really excited. They opened the doors and led me inside. Kevin and Joe walked up to the people from the record company that actually sign the people and started talking to them. They would occasionally glance at me, and I was just smiling the whole time.
They asked me to sing a song, one that would show off all my skills. Nick whispered in my ear that I should sing “So Much Better”, so I did.
“I’m going to sing ‘So Much Better’ from Legally Blonde: The Musical. Of course, some of the lyrics do not apply to me or my personality.” Amazingly, the people smiled.
I started singing, and finished the entire song. The record company people were amazed by my range, my stage presence, and my personality. They absolutely loved me and signed me immediately.
I just got a record deal with Hollywood Records. OH. MY. GOD.

CHAPTER 19
When we got back to the Jonas’ house, I started jumping up and down and screaming in excitement. “I GOT A RECORD DEAL!!”
“Well duh, we kind of knew it was coming,” Kevin said and laughed.
“I didn’t! I thought they’d hate me or something!”
“How could they hate you? You’ve got a fantastic voice, great stage presence, and an awesome personality. What’s NOT to like?” Nick said.
I looked over at Joe and we both said in unison, “The fact that I own a gun!” I laughed as he shuddered. Kevin didn’t even ask.
“Congratulations,” Nick said, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek. “Want me—or all three of us—to help you write some songs?”
“That’d be awesome! Thanks! When?”
“How about right now? I mean, we have the instruments and stuff, let’s just do it now.”
“Cool. You two alright with that?” I turned to Joe and Kevin.
“Sure,” Joe answered.
“Let’s do it!” Kevin said excitedly.
And so we all ran upstairs, into a room that they had reserved for instruments and other stuff needed to write songs and record them onto their computer, so they could play them back and listen to them. Anyways, we sat down and brainstormed ideas.
“What is really close to your heart that you’d like to write about?” Nick started.
I frowned before saying, “My mom and how much I hate her…Ben…Being treated like crap practically every day at school…Being an outcast…”
Nick reached across and rubbed my arm a little. He stopped when I smiled kind of awkwardly. “Friends, I guess…um, well, boyfriend-slash-Nick,” we all laughed, “Meeting you guys-slash-new people that influenced my life a lot, and…”
“SITTING IN A TREE!” Nick and I yelled in unison. I laughed and Joe and Kevin looked at us weirdly. We explained everything.
“Okayy then…anything else?” Kevin asked.
“Nope, I think that’s it for now,” I answered.
“Awesome, let’s get started, then.”
And so the songwriting process began.
I know what you’re thinking—songwriting isn’t about just sitting down and forcing yourself to write. It’s about venting when you need it, and stuff like that. But technically, I DID need to vent. BADLY. I had everything crammed inside my head, and needed to get it out. It felt like something was being lifted off of my shoulders with each song I wrote, with the help of the brothers, of course.
We finally finished writing everything down and recording them onto the computer. I sighed as I fell down onto a beanbag chair in the corner of the “music/recording” room.
Conversation filled the room for a few hours. Yeah, a few hours. Let’s just say we are good at keeping ourselves occupied.
Now, let’s skip ahead a couple months, to September. September 16th, in particular.
My record was already released and I had become basically an overnight phenomenon. No, not like Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. Better. I had the best fans in the world too, besides the Jonas Brothers of course. Also, I swear I’ve already done like 100 photoshoots and interviews (radio, etc), but no concerts yet. Oh, and did I mention everybody knew Nick and I were dating?
Yeah. We announced it…last month. August 16th. September 16th was our first month “telling the public we’re dating” anniversary. Oh, and did I mention it’s Nick’s and my 17th birthday?
I woke up in my empty, silent house at about 8 AM. I slowly sulked downstairs and started to make myself breakfast. This time I poured milk in my cereal, and as I was walking into the living room (or I could just call it the “death room” because it’s where Ben was shot), Nick jumped out from behind a wall right in front of me. I screamed and jumped, spilling my cereal and milk all over me.
Nick’s eyes got all wide and he started apologizing immediately. “OMIGOD I’M SO SORRY! I DIDN’T MEAN FOR THAT TO HAPPEN!!”
I just wiped everything off my eyes with my fingers and replied, “Don’t sweat it. I like wearing my breakfast anyway. Good way to lose weight.” He laughed and I smiled.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!” We both screamed at the same time. He was about to hug me, but I held out my hands.
“Wait a second. Let me…go change, okay?” He nodded his head and sat down on a chair, waiting for me to finish changing. I ran upstairs and pulled out a pair of denim cuffed short shorts, a white tank top that had a black guitar on it and said “Superfine” (the designer), my black Live in Love bracelet, black rubber bracelets (crossed like a lot of celebs have), and my purity ring (which said “TREE”, to remind me of my past, and it was also my new nickname). I pulled my hair out of the ponytail and put on some natural makeup as I ran downstairs.
“Alright, I’m finished. I’m dry, too,” I laughed.
“You’re sure you’re not mad at me?” Nick asked as he stood up and walked over to me, at the bottom of the stairs.
“How could I be mad at you? It was an accident. Trust me; I’ve had worse things happen to me.”
Nick shuddered as he remembered the day that Sarah put everyone’s combined lunches all over me and my clothes.
“So…I got you a present!” He said, taking something out from behind the wall he had jumped out from. He held it behind his back mysteriously, and knew I’d do anything to know what it was—from past experience. Wink, wink.
“Ugh, don’t taunt me! I hate it when you do that!”
He still held it behind his back. “You have to give me my present first!”
“What if I said I didn’t get you a material present because of what’s been going on?”
He looked at me confused, then said, “I’d say it was okay. So…no present for me?” He faked a pout.
“I never said there wasn’t some form of a present!” And with that, I kissed him. He dropped whatever he was going to give me onto the table and we were making out for a few minutes.
Nice birthday present, I know. Ha ha.
After the kiss, he was obviously happy. “I’ll take that,” he laughed. “Now for your birthday present.”
He took a small envelope off of the table and handed it to me. I looked at him, puzzled. “Open it,” he said slowly and sarcastically, laughing a little.
I carefully ripped the envelope open, revealing something that looked a little like two slips of paper. I glanced at him quickly and then reached into the envelope. I pulled the “slips of paper” out, but then realized they weren’t just slips of paper.
They were tickets. For what though?
I turned them over in my hand carefully. As soon as I read the first two words that my eyes were attracted to, I got really bug-eyed and my mouth opened really wide in surprise. Nick just smiled at my reaction.
“HOW DID YOU KNOW?!?!” I yelled.
“I had asked your mom a while ago, before…you know…” He looked down.
“Wait…when did she tell you I was a fan of the Red Sox?”
“I can’t remember,” he shrugged his shoulders, “But I’m assuming you like your present?”
“Two tickets to the Red Sox verse Yankees game tomorrow?! Of course, I LOVE it! Thank you sooooo much!! Especially the fact that…they’re on the GREEN MONSTER! I’ve always wanted to sit up there!”
“Let’s just make a rule for the game tomorrow. Even though you’re a Red Sox fan and I’m a Yankees fan, let’s not fight about it, okay? It’s sports.”
“It’s just sports,” I said, raising my eyebrows. “And I hope you remember that.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” He smiled.
“You’re quite competitive, in case you forgot,” I teased.
“Whatever, I’ll remember,” he winked, “Now, you should probably get packing. We’re leaving in an hour to get to the airport.”
“Public or private airport?”
“Public, unfortunately. We shouldn’t waste the private jet on just us two.”
“Whatever, I’m perfectly fine with that. Alright, now, get out of here. I need to pack!” I said, pushing him towards the door and opening it for him.
“Wait,” he said, stopping and holding the door open with one of his hands. “Don’t forget breakfast!”
My stomach growled loudly. I looked down at it and laughed. Then I looked back up at Nick and he smiled and winked again. “Thanks. Now go!” He walked down my front porch and walkway, glancing back a few times and smiling shyly.
I stood there until he got into the street, then closed the door and ran upstairs to start packing. I only had to pack enough clothes for tonight and tomorrow and for the next day (just in case), so I didn’t need that much. I packed my carry-on (a big purse) with all my essentials. I put my laptop inside of the purse, too.
As soon as I was done packing, I lugged everything downstairs. I positioned it near the front door and ran into the kitchen to make myself breakfast quickly. I made exactly what I had when Nick jumped out and made me spill it. I looked around a few times to make sure there were no more surprises, and then took a seat in the living room on the couch to eat. Right as I finished and was getting up to wash the bowl and spoon, the doorbell rang. I threw everything in the dishwasher quickly and glanced out the window to see who it was. It was Nick.
I opened it and obviously looked rushed. “Whoa, calm down. I’m here a few minutes early.”
“Duh, I just like, shoved food down my throat so I wouldn’t starve!” We both smiled. He came in and took my suitcase. He brought it to the car, and I carried my carry-on (no pun intended) into the car. I dropped it on the seat and noticed the Jonases were all standing behind the car. I ran over to them all and hugged them as they gave me many “happy birthdays”. Nick and I said goodbye, and hopped into the car. Soon enough, we were at the airport, being swarmed by paparazzi. But I didn’t really care.
I was on my way to Boston. Massachusetts. The place I grew up in.

CHAPTER 20
Nick squeezed my hand a little tighter as we stopped just past the ticket checking thing, inside the park. We found stairs to get up to the Green Monster, and walked up, and with each step, I smiled bigger (if that was even possible).
Occasionally, Nick would look back at me. His eyes would sparkle every time he saw my smile. That’s when I realized that even though his eyes had sparkled (like, a week ago?) when he saw Ally, that doesn’t mean they ALWAYS did. I mean, his did virtually every time he looked at me. It sent chills down my spine and set my heart on fire.
Soon enough, we reached the top of the Green Monster and found our seats. We were sitting in the first row, near the edge. Obviously there was a wall in front of us so we wouldn’t fall, though. I swear, I must’ve been quivering with excitement or something, because Nick had to put his hand on my shoulder to stop me. And as if we hadn’t waited long enough, the game finally started.
There would be those times when Nick or I would root for our team, and cheer and stuff. But we didn’t really care much…I mean, it’s SPORTS. Sports. Why would you fight over sports? Ha ha. I guess some people do, but we didn’t. We settled our differences.
There’d also be those times when Nick and I would get super cuddly and lovey-dovey, happy that Joe and Kevin weren’t around. And also quite happy there wasn’t paparazzi in Boston, Massachusetts.
The game ended fairly quickly. It was a tie. Hey, at least Nick and I both went home happy. That way we wouldn’t have to fight about it, even though we had made that agreement before.
Blah, blah, blah. Sounds like I’m babbling, doesn’t it? Ugh I know, my life is sooo boring right now.
Well, besides the fact that Nick and I are dating, and I have a number one selling platinum album…yeah, boring, right?
So, this is where I’ll end my life story.
Do not cry, do not get upset, do not kill me.
I’m only trying to save you the pain of listening to my babbling over and over again.
Now you may go on to live your lives in painless joy…
Oh and by the way, Nick and I are getting married!!!
Hey, a girl can dream, can’t she?
THE END.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING ALL MY FANFICTIONS REALLY SUCCESSFUL! I LOVE ALL YOU GUYS! :D
BTW, there is NO SEQUEL for this one. Also, I'm NOT going to be writing another FF anytime soon. I'm too busy with school and such. Sorry, and thanks again! :)
