Chapter 1

[ Kenzie's P.O.V ♥ ]
I sighed as we pulled out of the drive way of our house- edit that. Old house. I glanced out the window as the big tree outside the front of our house grew smaller and smaller. I had grown up in that house, and it wasn't exacly easy to leave it behind. The rain falling down outside caused the windows to fog over. With my long french manicured nail I wrote my name on the Window;
Kenzie Phillips.
I leaned my head against the cool glass. It felt so good. I lay there and rested for a little while, the smooth texture of the glass soothing to me.
"Kenz, wake up."
A voice gently whispered.
I rubbed my eyes and looked around.
"Were at the hotel now."
My mom said.
I glanced out the window.
Sure enough we were parked outfront a hotel that was called
"Twin Pines Motel."
I ignored my mom and pushed passed her, hopping out of the car.
I opened the trunk before she had a chance.
I grabbed my suit case and headed for the door.
"Kenzie, wait for me!"
My mom called out
I chose to ignore her. I had been giving her the silent treatment. After all, if it wasn't for her and her boyfriend getting married I wouldn't even be standing infront of "Twin Pines Motel" in the first place. Sure, my mom said that Brad wanted us to be near him and his new job. My mom promised it was what she thought was best for us. Us, or her? I had friends in Detroit, why do we have to move to LA? I mean LA? In books LA is home to a bunch of stuck up snobs whose lives are going no where. I had a life back in Detroit. Not that it mattered to anyone.
I walked up to the check in desk. I was seriously considering booking 2 seperate rooms to show my mom how much I despised being around her. I decided against it.
"Room for 2 please."
I said to the guy at the desk.
He nodded and smiled at me.
"Room 101."
He replied handing me a plastic card that I assumed was the room key.
"Thanks."
I replied.
I grabbed the handle of my carry on and started for the elevator.
"Kenzie, wait for me!"
My mom called, running up beside me.
I silently handed her the room key.
Together we stepped into the elevator.

Chapter 2

[ Kenzie's P.O.V ♥ ]
I groaned as the alarm clock went off. I grabbed my pillow and covered my ears with it, hoping to drown out the annoying bleep, bleep, bleep. No luck. My mom came over and gently shook my sholder.
"Kenzie, honey, time to wake up."
She whispered in my ear.
"If we wanna get to LA sometime today we need to get a move on."
I groaned but slowly rose from my bed. I walked over to my closet and pulled on a plain black t-shirt, skinny jeans, and coverse. Even though my hair was greasy I didn't bother to take a shower. Instead I gathered my blonde locks and pulled them into a messy bun. Then I walked over to the mini fridge in our hotel room. I opened it and found a water bottle. I grabbed the bottle and sat down at the table to drink it. I cracked open the lid and took a sip. My mom was sitting on the couch reading the newspaper.
"Honey!"
She called.
"Come look at this."
I slowly walked over to her. She pointed to and advertisment in the paper. It read;
Auditions for the New Disney Channel show; J.O.N.A.S. Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Royal Theatre, LA.
Hmmmm. Auditions for a TV show, and a chance to meet the Jonas Brothers? How could I say no.
"What do you think?"
My mom asked.
I shrugged and took a sip from my waterbottle. My mom sighed. I almost felt bad for giving her the silent treatment, almost.
"Ready to go?"
My mom asked. I didn't reply. Instead I grabbed my carry on and my coat and headed out the door. I took the elevator down to the lobby and checked us out of out room. Then I headed out to the Parking Garage and waited for my mom. She came a little while later. She unlocked the car and climbed into the drivers seat, I hopped in beside her. I popped in the earphones to my Ipod and sat back ready for a Jonas Brother's marathon.

"Kenz, come on, were here!"
My mom called out. I shut off my Ipod and hopped out of the car, momentarily blinded by the sunlight. When I could see clearly my jaw dropped to the ground.

Chapter 3

[ Kenzie's P.O.V ♥ ]
As I stared at our new house I tried to hide how much I liked it. I wasn't going to give my mom the satisfaction that I actully liked it. I mean, it was HUGEEEEE. Tudor style, white coloured, and was that a pool out back? My mother was looking rather smug.
"So, what do you think?"
She asked. I shrugged my sholders, knowing inside how much I really loved it. I guess my mom figured I was lying because she didn't respond.
"Why don't we go inside?"
She sugested. I grabbed my Carry on and started for the front door. I didn't think it would be right to walk on in, so I rang the bell. A man - more like buttler really - answered the door.
"May I help youuuu?"
He asked in a brittish accent, dragging the "u" in you.
"Ummm... I'm Kenzie Phillips."
I said, hoping that would clear everything. I guess it didn't. Just then my mom ran up beside me. She tucked her fly away blonde hair behind her ear.
"I'm Lissa Phillips."
She replied.
"Ohh, Mrs. Phillipsssss. We've been expecting youuuuu."
The buttle droaned.
"This is my daughter, Kenzie."
My mom said, placing her hands on my sholders. I shrugged out of her grasp, pushed pased the buttler, and headed inside. If the outside was amaizing, the inside was FABULOUS. I absolutly loved this house. How much better could it get? I started for the staircase, and walked upstairs. There was a sign on 1 door. It read;
Kenzie's Room. I gritted my teath and pushed open the door. What a fabulous room! A window seat, my own bathroom, a walk-in-closet. Everything a 15 year old girl could want. I flopped down on the purple and lime green bedspred and glanced around, this house was so different from our old one. It was actually kind of depressing. It was then and there that I changed my mind.
I Hated this house, and I didn't wan't to live in it. No matter how awesome it was...

Chapter 4

[ Kenzie's P.O.V ♥ ]
Just then there was a knock on my door. I decided to be selfish and just plain rude. I grabbed my Ipod and quickly jammed the ear phones into my ears. I ingnored the knock on the door, that way if someone decided to come in it would look like I had been listening to my Ipod.
"Hellooooo?"
A girl's voice called.
She lightly tapped on the door and gently pushed it open. She saw me sitting on my bed with my ear phones in and she raised her eyebrows. She was followed by 4 other girls. She walked over beside the bed, and glanced over at my Ipod. It was then that I realised I forgot to turn it on. Way to go.
"Ummmm... I don't know much, but I'm pretty sure you have to turn it on for the music to come out."
She said sarcasticly.
I turned bright red and glanced at the screen of my Ipod. The other girls giggled.
"I'm Cassie."
She said.
"And this is Taylor, Kaytie, Bailee and Mackenzie."
She said motioning to each girl, one after the other.
I smiled, then I realized that 5 random girls were standing in the middle of the room, cutting me up about how stupid I was. So instead of being poilte and telling them my name and kindly asking them why they were in my room... I blurted out
"Why the heck are you in my room?"
The red-ish, brown-ish haired girl smiled at me. I think her name was Kaytie.
"We all live around here."
She replied.
"And we just dropped by to say hello!"
Taylor chirped.
Ohhhh, the welcoming comitee. I'm guessing Brad sent them over. I was about to ask them how much he payed them to walk over here, when one of the girls glanced at the time on her cellphone.
"Oh my gosh, were gunna be late for the JONAS audditions!"
She cried.
My head snapped up. JONAS additions, I'm so there!
"Your so right!?"
Mackenzie called out.
"Wanna come, Kenzie right?"
I nodded my head, yes to both.
I ran to the mirror, applied some lipgloss and eye liner, and headed for the door.
