A two month relationship with Danika Garrett is awesome. Keeping it a secret just downright SUCKS.

I glanced over at Cassie Skane. She was hanging with my brothers. She doesn't really talk to me all that much.

She says the usual, "Hi Nick," or "Bye Nick," but that's about it. I looked at her friend Bailey Wyld.

They were all playing Dance Dance Revolution and Bailey was bouncing around on the mat.

Me, I'm just watching. I haven't even been on a real DATE with Dani yet. I mean sure, we hang out, but we can't go out to dinner or anything.

Because the pooparrazzi will see us. And we can't hold hands in public, because the pooparrazzi will see THAT too.

I mean, it is their JOB to ruin celebritiy's lives. And right now, they're doing a good job at wrecking my relationship.

I stared at my phone. I was just hoping Dani would call. Danika Garrett is now my two month long girlfriend (for all the knuckleheads that don't remember).

I had only one text from her that entire day.

At least she loves me. That's all I ask. I hadn't texted her back yet. I had to wait for her to get out of the meeting first.

I felt my pocket vibrate and I ripped my phone out of my pocket. Dani was out of the meeting.

About time. Sometimes I wonder if Seth Brown fell asleep in those things.

"I can't believe your famous," my cousin Maggie Garrett sighed. I wasn't really listening. I was just counting down the hours until I get to see Nick again.

"And that Seth guy is HOT. You should totally go out with him!" Maggie continued.

"Yeah, sadly it didn't work out," I said. I was staring at Nick's screen name. Nick likes OJ. Why does he like Orange Juice?

"You actually DID date him?!" my friend Michelle cried.

"Briefly," I said shrugging. I lied. I lied that I went out with him. Okay, I didn't really LIE LIE.

I lied to Nick and now I'm sticking to that lie with my friends. To keep this whole STUPID THING A SECRET!

I HATE KEEPING IT A SECRET!! I have the biggest mouth EVER, and I'm amazed I haven't spilled the beans yet.

I looked through my pictures of me and Nick on my phone. One with him kissing me on the cheek and one with me just plain ol' kissing him.

I have a password on EVERYTHING on my phone. And to figure out the password, you need to see those pictures.

I waited for Nick that night excitedly. I hadn't seen him in a week because him and his brothers started coming to the studio when I left it.

I was finishing up my makeup, when the doorbell rang. I hurried and opened the door. There stood Nick.

I was trying not to squel with pleasure or anything, so I hustled him into my apartment before anyone saw him.

I had sent Michelle and Maggie to a movie for the night so we didn't have to be "just friends".

Once I shut the door, we made out all emotionally in front of the doorway. I pulled away and asked.

"You hungry?"

Nick let go of me and nodded.

"Joe and Kevin starved me to death today," he said. I giggled. There it goes AGAIN!!! God what is WRONG with me?!

"What should we get? I don't know about you, but I'm kinda sick of Chinese," I said. Nick made a face and nodded.

"We can get Mexican?" he offered. I shook my head.

"How bout we have whatever I have in the fridge?" I asked. He smiled.

"Cool. Leftovers."

I smiled and went to the fridge and dug around in there. Cottage cheese, orange soda, bread, hot dogs and then I found a bag of pizza that I got from John's Pizzaria.

"Pizza?" I asked. He shrugged.

"Sure, I'm game," he said. Nick sat down at the table while I put the pizza into the oven to reheat it.

"So, what's been going on with you?" I asked sitting in front of him. We were playing footsies under the table.

It was a bad habit we had developed over the weeks. We can't help. It just starts. Sometimes I don't even know I'm doing it.

"Not much, I missed you," Nick said holding my hand. Then we started kissing again until the oven dinged.

Just because we're dating, doesn't mean that everything has changed. We played video games again while eating the pizza.

We didn't play SSX Tricky anymore. I think that's because I became so good at it, that I beat Dani everytime.

We play Super Smash Bros. for the Xbox. Dani could kill me easily with this game, but I was getting a bit better.

Once the pizza was done, we just pretty much....cuddled. It sounds gross, but hey. Video games can only keep you entertained for so long.

Then we heard noise out in the hallway. We thought it was nothing at first, but then we heard the keys in the door.

"Ohmigod, what are they doing home so early?!" Dani whispered in shock.

"What do I do?!" I hissed. Dani looked at me with wide eyes.

"Hide in my room!" she said. I got up and found Dani's room. It was big and a light blue with band posters all over the place.

I dove behind the door right as the front door opened and her friends came in.

"Hey! You made pizza?" I heard someone say. I peeked from the door and saw a girl that I think was Michelle Taylor, and then Dani's cousin Maggie.

"Uhhh, yeah! What are you guys doing home so soon?" Dani asked smiling through gritted teeth.

"Movie started early," Maggie said. Dani looked at me with a look that said,

"You're gonna be here awhile."

This secret thing's NOT easy.

"What's wrong Dan? You look.....flustered," Michelle said. I grinned in a guilty way. I noticed self consiously that I was sweating.

"Flustered? Me? What are you talking about?" I said grinning like a maniac. Maggie definetly THOUGHT I was a maniac.

"Oh-kaaaay then. I'm gonna go to sleep now," Maggie said clapping her hands together and heading to her room down the hall.

I sucked in my breath, thankful that my room was on the opposite side of the house than her's and that Nick was safe. For now at least.

Michelled yawned too and looked at the kitchen clock.

"Yeah, I should be going home too," she sighed. She looked at me oddly.

"Get a GOOD nights rest Dan. Or your gonna be in rehab for a workaholic," she said. I laughed.

"Ha ha, good one Michelle!" I said still smiling and sweating guiltly. If my phony happiness didn't give it away, my heart beat would.

STUPID GUILTY HEARTBEAT.

Michelle turned her head slowly and ran out of the door. I sighed and locked it behind her. Then I ran as fast as I could to my room.

Seeing my dark green walls made me sigh with relief. I didn't have any of my band posters with me, I just had pictures on my wall.

"Nick?" I whispered. No answer. "Nick? It's safe! You can come out!"

Silence. Deadening, creepy, eerie silence. I then flung around my room, digging everywhere trying to find him.

My 500 meter room could only hide about 13 chimpmunks and me. But that's it. I then froze. And then I gulped.

"Uh-oh."

I heard someone leave. Relieved, I expected Dani to walk in any second. But instead of Dani coming in, MAGGIE CAME IN.

I dove into her closet before she opened the door entirely. WHAT HAD I DONE?! This wasn't DANI'S room!

It was MAGGIE'S! Her FOURTEEN YEAR OLD COUSIN! I huddled into a corner, bumping into heaps of clothing and tripping over shoes.

Then, peeping through the slots in the door, I watched Maggie go into the bathroom in her room.

Thinking this would be my chance to run like hell, I opened the door and was halfway there, when the door opened to the bathroom and I dove next to the bed.

I looked at the dresser across from me by the door. I had to get out of here. FAST.

Maggie headed to the same dresser, and while she was occupied in the mirror, combing her hair, I dived over the side of the bed and came to rest on the other side.

My heart was pounding so hard in my ears that I thought my head was gonna explode.

I glanced over at Maggie who was heading back to the bathroom. Dam*.

I wormed my way under the bed and had crawled up to the other side again. I was gazing at that door.

The bathroom seemed safely shut, so I got up and ran.

What was I supposed to do?! I couldn't go in there! She would SO know for sure something was up.

More than she probably thought before that is. I was pacing around my room forever, when the door banged open and a disheveld Nick flew in.

"Oh. My. GOD," he breathed. He was panting and holding his stomach trying to regulate his breathing.

"Ohmigod, did she SEE YOU?!" I cried rushing over to the door.

"I don't think so. She didn't say anything to me if that's what you're asking," he moaned. I was holding on to his arm when the door opened AGAIN.

This time, I knew it wasn't Nick.

"Do you have any extra towels Da- OHMIGOD!" It was Maggie. I mean, she was the only one left in the house not to say OH MY GOD, so use your process of elemination.

"NICK JONAS!!! AHHHHHHH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!!! DANI YOU KNOW HIM!?!!?!" she screamed. I forgot she was in love with him.

Join the club. There's new members like everyday.

"Uhhhh, I was......" Nick said and dribbled off pathetically.

"He was---LOOKING at my sink!" I cried. Maggie gave me a look.

"Your sink?" she asked with a WTF look on her face.

"Yeah! Her faucet is REALLY shiny!" Nick said, playing along. Maggie raised her eyebrows.

"Ohkay than. When did you get here?" she said, the lovey-dovey look on her face again.

"He got here like before you guys came home," I said. She smiled.

"Oh," she breathed. Nick looked at me with an apologetic look on his face.

"I should go Dani.....see you tomorrow." I nodded and told Maggie to wait in my room. Making sure to shut the door behind me.

"That was TOO close," I whispered to him. He nodded. We were at our door.

"Bye," I whispered. Nick glanced over my shoulder to see if Maggie was looking.

"Quick one?" he asked. I looked over my shoulder too. Then I kissed Nick really fast on the lips.

So fast in fact, that our teeth made contact, and hurt our lips.

"Ow!" we both hissed. Nick waved, covering his mouth with one hand and than left. Closing the door behind him, I locked it.

Than slumped exahausted on the door.

I was kind of so freaked out over the whole experiance, that I ran down every flight of steps.

I forgot about the elevator, seeing as how me and Dani had adopted a new liking for them.

We keep getting into the elevator at the studio after we got over our pet peeve about that dumb movie Speed, hoping to get stuck again.

It never happened. It's like, it's only purpose of getting stuck all the time was to get us together and that was it. Either that, or the handyman finally fixed it.

Either way, I was still running when I reached my car waiting in the valet parking. When Joe saw me, he rolled his window down and stuck his head out.

"Where have you BEEN?! You said you'd be down by 8:30!" he hissed in a loud whisper. There's an oxymoron for you. A loud whisper.

"Sorry," I said climbing into the car. I looked at the clock. It was 9:25. Whoops. I sank down into the seat to try and catch my breath.

"What took you so long? What's up?" Joe said looking at me. I had a REALLY bad cramp, but I told him anyway.

I was rubbing my lip while Joe cracked up.

"It's not funny!!" I cried. Joe wiped a tear from his eye. What a sympathetic brother.

"Y-yes it is! God, I wish I was there!" he said laughing his butt off. I thought we was gonna pee in his pants or something.

"What's wrong with your lip?" Joe asked, finally stopping laughing.

"Oh, me and Dani's teeth got our lips-" Before I could finish, Joe was crying in laughter all over again.

I met up with Seth the next day before we were all about to leave. Them anyway. I was staying and waiting for Nick.

"Seth! Wait up!" I called and ran after him down the hall. Seth waited and when I caught up he said,

"Hey Mrs. Nick Jonas. When's the wedding?"

"Shhhh!!!!" I cried. I was so SHOCKED that he said that. OUT LOUD. IN THE STUDIOS MAIN HALLWAY.

He didn't care. He was too busy laughing. I sighed and walked away while the Emo Kid cried.

Only because he's showing emotion.

I headed into the lobby and intercepted Nick from his brothers.

"Yo!-Hey!" he cried as I yanked him back to our little corner that we've had since we started dating.

I pulled him down on the couch.

"That is NOT happening again! We can't even have DINNER at MY OWN APARTMENT!" I cried. Nick sighed.

"Dani, why can't you tell your cousin? I'm sure she'll-"

"TELL HER?! Are you CRAZY?! She's not staying permantely! And not to MENTION she has the biggest mouth EVER besides mine! EVERYONE will know if I tell her!" I cried in a hushed whisper.

Nick looked at the secretary at the front desk, than back at me.

"This secret thing, it is just NOT working. I'd rather deal with the press and ask questions later," he said.

OH.
MY.
GOD.

"Are you KIDDING?! Would you WANT to get berated by the stupid media everyday!" I cried.

"I already DO!" Nick cried back. I sighed this time. Trying not to lose my temper. Pfuit! Good luck with THAT Dani.

"Listen," I said in a calmer voice. "We're just gonna be more careful. Okay? We can work around this."

Nick squeezed my hand and got up.

"Yeah, you're right Dani. We will. I'll see you later," he said. He kissed me really fast on the cheek.

"Ow," Nick winced.

"What?"

"It still hurts."

We couldn't really do anything that day. Kevin has joined Joe at laughing to my expense.

"I don't know why you bother to keep it a secret," Kevin was saying.
"We're celebrities. We can't HAVE secrets."

Joe sighed as he scrolled down the pictures in his phone.

"Stop being such a stick in the mud Kevin," he said. Kevin rolled his eyes.

"I'm just worried how this is gonna go! I mean, Nick hasn't been really good at keeping a girl-" he said.

When I opened my mouth to argue, Joe cut in.

"Don't worry Kevin!" he said, patting Kevin's leg. "You'll find someone!" I snorted. Kevin looked annoyed.

"Shut up," he said, swatting Joe's hand away as me and Joe laughed. "The first girl that I'll go out with will have to be blonde and a skater chick. Any more prying questions?"

Me and Joe looked at each other.

"That just narrows it down to.......practically no one!" Joe said. Kevin raised his eyebrow.

"No it doesn't. But even if it does, than she at least has to be a good writer," he said. Joe sighed.

"Whatever bro." Moving on from Kevin's Dream Date, I guess that he's right. It's no point keeping it a secret.

I knocked on my brother's dorm room. I don't know why whenever I find myself in a jam, I always come to him.

No one answered, so I tried the door. It was unlocked so I came in.

"Whoa!" I cried. Travis was kissing some random girl with purple hair and black hanging suspenders.

"YO!" Travis cried. He broke away from the girl and stared at me.

"What are YOU doing here?!" he shouted. I looked at the girl who looked like she was 30 with the amount of eyeliner she had on.

"I want to talk to you. Alone if you don't mind," I said, glaring at Goth Girl.

"Wait-Aren't you Danika Garrett?!" Goth Girl said. I nodded.

"Yeah...."

"And are you SEEING her or something Trav?" she asked. Travis's eyes narrowed.

"No....she's my sister," he said, growling the last word. "Sorry Veronica, but I'll see you later."

Veronica got up and left, her black and white checkered tie was ascew. EW. EWEWWEWEWEEWWEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

Once the door shut, I said.

"You sure bounce back fast. What about Serena?" Travis rolled his eyes.

"I'm over her. She has a boyfriend, and now I have a girlfriend."

"Are you guys......still friends?" I asked. Travis sighed and rolled his eyes.

"YES Dani, YES for God's sake." Then the door opened again and this girl with long blonde hair and fishnet stockings came in.

She had on a peace shirt and was holding a camera.

"Travis-Oh my god! You're Dani aren't you?!" she cried. She went over and snapped my picture.

I blinked in the bright flash.

"Ye-yeah," I spluttered, rubbing my dilated pupils.

"You know her?" the girl asked. Travis rolled his eyes again.

"Yeah, Lynetta, this is my sister. Dani, this is my friend Lynetta. She's a journalist," he muttered.

"Your SISTER?! Are you KIDDING?!" Lynetta cried. Travis said,

"Don't even THINK about putting that in the paper Lyn." She sighed.

"Fine, whatever. But I can't believe you're RELATED!" she cried. She then grabbed her skateboard by the door and walked out.

"She seems nice. But you don't tell anyone we're related?! Why?!" I cried. I felt kind of hurt. Was he ASHAMED of me or something?

"I don't want people being friends with me to get to you," he said. Point well taken.

"So, why the hell are you here anyway?"

So I told him.

"So lemme get this straight," Travis was saying. We were sitting on his bed. Travis didn't know me and Nick were dating.

Now he does.

"You're dating Nick Jonas and you're keeping it a secret from the press?" he asked. I nodded.

"Yep," I said. Travis shook his head.

"That's bull. There's no way you can keep that a secret for long. Lynetta's a CELEBRITIES GOSSIP reporter! She figures EVERYTHING OUT! It's not gonna work," he said.

"It's the best we can do," I whispered. Travis got up and knocked hard and loud on the bathroom door.

I knew Travis wouldn't tell anyone. But he IS friend's with a teenage reporter in a gossip magazine. I guess things could get messy if he DID tell.

"Lynetta! Come here for a minute!" he cried through the door. WHAT?! Was this payback from the time I told Serena he liked her?! Was he gonna tell Lyn?!

Then my phone rang. MY ringtone was Mad as Rabbits by Panic at The Disco.

"It's Nick!" I cried. He was just texting me.

"What do you want Travis?! I'm working on my article for the magazine!" Lynetta cried. Travis looked at me.

"Lynetta works on a CELEBRITY GOSSIP column, huh Dani?" he said. I got the point.

"Cool, for what magazine?" I asked.

"Gossip Girl, spoof on that stupid show," Lynetta said. I smiled. I hated Gossip Girl too. Except that I like Blake Lively.

I then got up and went to the door.

"I gotta go guys. I got a date tonight! Nice meeting you Lynetta."

As I was walking out, I heard Lynetta say,

"With who!?!" Then I heard Travis say,

I made sure to kick Joe and Kevin out at 7:40. I wanted PLENTY of time alone with Dani tonight.

I was finishing getting ready, when the door bell rang. I opened the door and let Dani in.

We were eating Italian that I ordered an hour ago. We were playing footsies under the table again.

This was a REALLY bad habit. What would happen if we were eating with a bunch of people and we started doing it?

They would know that we were dating. Or at least that we flirt a lot. Either way, that's NOT good.

Dani told me all about going to Maine to visit Travis.

"Are you KIDDING?! Travis really used to like SERENA?!" I cried. That was news to me.

"Seeing as how that's how I got that bruise on my back. Because Travis figured out that I told Serena!" Dani said laughing.

Seeing as how I knew Travis better than all of my brothers seeing as how I shared a room with him in Italy.

After we finished eating, I took Dani to my room. We started playing Dance Dance Revolution.

Dani was really good at the song Dance, Dance. Then, ignoring our sore lips, we made out like crazy with Fall Out Boy playing in the background.

If meaning that I have to keep this a secret just to stay with Dani Garrett, this was SO worth it.

We didn't hear the door open when Joe and Kevin came home. We didn't notice anything until Kevin opened the door and threw a laundry basket at us.

"Hey! We were kind of busy!" Nick said finally looking up. Joe snorted with laughter. I admit, so did I.

"Yeah, exactly. Come on you guys. Get up. Now," Kevin said. Me and Nick looked at each other and got up.

Joe patted Nick in congratulations.

"We gotta find someone for Mr. Mom over there," Joe whispered to me and Nick. I shoved a fist in my mouth to stiffle my laughter.

We came into the living room and was greeted by a girl with pink hair. And I thought MY hair was vivid.

"Guys, this our friend Cammy," Kevin said. I recognized her from the studio. She was one of the lead singers in a band.

"Hey guys," Cammy said. I waved at her. Another girl with an excessive hair dye. YESSS!

"Nick, I should go home before Maggie notcies I'm gone," I said. Nick looked at me shocked.

"YOU DIDN'T TELL HER YOU WERE GOING OUT?!" he cried. I looked guilty I could tell.

"I said I was staying late at the studio...." I said lamely. What? I DID!

"Leave," Joe said. He was pointing at the door. I smiled and hugged Nick. Because Cammy was there, so I had to hug ALL of the Jonas Brothers.

"Bye!" I ran out of the loft and caught up with my limo.

Joe must have read my mind because he said, "SO! Who's hungry?!" Then he went into the kitchen to heat up the leftover Italian.

"Not me. Hey Nick, can I talk to you?" A voice said. I turned around.

"Cassie?! When did YOU get here?!" I cried. She looked at me weird. Turning around she looked at the door and back at me.

"I came in with Cammy," she said like it was obvious. I guess since she ignored me, I kind've been ignoring her too.

"Oh, yeah sure." She led me into the game room in the corner. I sat down on the ottoman and she sat on the futon.

"I know you're going out with Danika Garrett," she said. That just left me with my jaw on the floor.

HOW DID SHE KNOW?! She wasn't in the room when we were kissing like Joe and Kevin!

She wasn't ANYWHERE near me when I was with Dani!!!!

I WAS FREAKING OUT! That's it. The secret was BLOWN sky high. Just because my brother's friend figured it out.

I ran into the apartment at 10:01.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Maggie cried. I winced.

"Big made me-" I began. Maggie looked mad.

"DON'T EVEN TRY THAT! I CALLED THE STUDIO! YOU HAD LEFT AT LIKE 4 O CLOCK! DON'T LIE TO ME DANIKA!" Maggie shouted.

I winced again. I knew I had screwed up bad, But how was I gonna lie my way out of this one?!

"I'm sorry Maggie! I lied okay! I went to see Travis!" I cried. I decided to stick to the truth. Well part of the truth anyway.

"TRAVIS?! Yeah right! You HATE TRAVIS!"

No I don't!! God!

"I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON DANIKA! YOU'RE DATING MY HUSBAND AREN'T YOU!" she cried. She looked close to tears.

"Your-husband? What?" I asked. I was confused now. I had NO clue what she was talking about.

"NICK JONAS!!! NICK JONAS! HOW COULD YOU?! AND NOT TELL ME?!" Maggie shouted. I closed my eyes.

I felt like I was hurtling down a black hole. Or wished I was that is.

"It's true. Isn't it?" Maggie whispered. I opened my eyes. She was crying. Really, I thought she was being stupid.

Nick didn't even know her. She didn't know him. It was completely unfair. But I had forgotten her dream of meeting him and marrying him.

Like that would happen. But I had to be sympathetic. I had lied to her big time after all.

"Yeah. I'm sorry Mags," I said softly. She blinked back tears, and then tore from the room. Slamming her door behind her.

"MAGGIE!" I cried and ran after her. I pounded on her locked door. I could hear her crying.

"I met him at boarding school! WE LIKED EACH OTHER! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM! How could you hold this against me?!" I cried. I was crying now.

I gave one last pound on the door, before I sank to the floor.

"H-how did you find out?" I stuttered. Cassie opened her Green Day bag and pulled out a phone.

A familiar phone. It was Dani's.

"I found this under the table. I wondered who's it was, so I turned it on," she said. She flipped open the phone.

The big screen saver was me and Dani kissing. I gulped. I thought that thing had like REALLY GOOD security on it.

Apparently not.

"This picture answered my question obviously," she said. She shut the phone and handed it to me.

I took it numbly. I was in too much shock to do anything but goggle at the thing. Cassie blinked down at me.

She was Joe's age and had dyed black hair. I never notcied that her hair used to be blonde, but I totally saw it now.

"I won't tell. I promise Nicky," she said. Nicky? I didn't even know she knew my name!

"Please don't," I said. I was tossing the thing back and forth in my hands. I was trying not to throw thing at the wall.

Instead I slipped it into my pocket while Cassie headed back into the kitchen.

I probably sat in front if Maggie's door all night and well into the morning. I was about to text Nick when I realized something.

"Where the hell did I put my phone?" I cried. I patted myself down entirely but I couldn't find it.

My heart was beating so fast I thought it ould fly out of my chest. I left that thing on. Unlocked.

It could be anywhere. ANYONE could find. And then they'd know. And I'd be pushing daisies.

Then the door I was leaning on opened and I fell at Maggie's feet.

"Hey," she said softly. Her blonde hair was messy and tousled. I wasn't in the mood, but I stood up.

I tried to ignore my quickening pulse. I looked at Maggie.

"I'm sorry I blew up at you like that. I shouldn't have. You're right. It was stupid to hold that against you. I'm sorry," she said.

She looked like she was gonna cry, so I hugged her and told her I forgave her. Now I need to find my stinkin phone.

The minute I got into the studio, I stopped in front of Dani and handed her her phone.

"Ohmigod! You found it! Thank god!" she cried. My face was grim. I felt horrible. I really was just in a crappy mood.

"Yeah. Cassie found it. She knows Dani. KNOWS," I said darkly. Dani's eyes widened, then she looked down at her converse hightops.

"Maggie knows too," she whispered. I looked at her. Dani was going to cry and I knew it.

I grabbed her in a hug as she spouted water like a fountain. Sobbing Dani whispered in my ear,

"It's too much Nick. I c-can't take it."

I stroked her hair as she cried. Joe and Kevin watching a good five feet away.

"Big wants to see all of us in his office," Dani whispered wettly. I nodded and led Dani, Joe, and Kevin into the elevator.

While Dani cried, Joe hissed in my ear,

"What's up? What's wrong?" he hissed through gritted teeth.

"Two people found out last night," I whispered.

"I know, I saw the phone's picture," Joe said. My jaw fell open again.

"DID KEVIN SEE IT?!" I hissed. Joe shook his head.

"No, don't worry."

Don't worry. Don't worry. I won't tell Nick, don't worry. Don't worry. We'll have to keep it a secret Nick. Don't worry.

Is that all people want me to do? Not to worry?

Well I'm sorry, but I'm worried sick. Big usually doesn't want us ALL in there unless it's important.

What could it be? The elevator opened and all of us got out and trailed silently into Big's office.

"Hey guys! I got a proposition for ya," he said. We all sank down in chairs. I sat next to Dani on the couch.

"Danika," Big said, turning to look at Dani. "How would you like to open up for the Jo Bros over here for their tour?"

I looked at Dani who was staring in shock at Big. I looked at her and nodded.

"Umm, sure," she said feebly. Big smiled. I did kind of too.

"Great! Listen rehersals start tomorrow!" Big said. Then he let us leave.

Dani tugged me away from everyone and into a corner.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything," she whispered. I kissed her gently on the lips.

"Don't be. It was bound to happen sooner or later," I said. She smiled grimly at me. I took her hand and we walked after my brothers.

I came into rehersals in a big autorium. It was early and because me and Maggie were still silent towards each other, I decided to bring her.

The drive was silent the entire ride. I was deleting all of the pictures of me and Nick off my phone one by one.

Maggie looked over my shoulder as I deleted one with me and Nick hugging.

"How long have you known him?" she asked. It was the first sentence she had said to me in three days.

"Almost two years. This our first time actually dating," I said. I decided to leave out the short time that we had been dating in school.

"You really do like him don't you," she said. I looked at her and nodded.

"Yeah. I really do."

Then my phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Dani?"

"Roxxi?"

"Yeah! Ohmigod! I just heard!! I can't believe it!"

My heart stopped. Had word gotten around that fast?! NOO!

"H-heard what?" I stuttered.

"THAT YOUR ON TOUR WITH THE JONAS BROTHERS!" she cried.

I had to hang up after that and run into the studio. Nick was already there when I came in. Bailey Wyld and Cassie Skane were with him.

"Hey Nick," I said quietly. Cassie looked at us with her eybrows raised. I glanced at her and then back at Nick.

He was looking at Seth who had come in a minute ago.

I can't believe that Cassie AND Maggie knows. One of these days EVERYONE'S gonna know.

Seth pulled Dani away where they started working on the song called 4ever and Never.

It was a cool song and Dani sang it great. Then Bailey came up to me. I talk more to Bailey than to Cassie so it wasn't that shocking.

"What is up with you and Dani?" she asked. I had a half a mind to blurt it out and save me the trouble.

"Why?" I asked instead. Bailey looked taken aback.

"Because you guys are usually flirting like crazy, but it's like you're mad at each other," she said.

I sighed. Flirting? I guess that's a better way to say what we really are.

"It doesn't matter," I said and I went to work on the Year 3000 with Joe and Kevin. Rehersal lasted until about 4 'o clock.

Dani had stayed clear away from everyone except Maggie and her friend Roxxi who had shown up an hour ago.

Cassie was with her friend A.J who glared at Dani. Why?! What did Cassie say to her?! WHAT does she know?!

I went over to Joe and whispered,

"This isn't going well."

Joe looked over at A.J and then back at Dani. Then he shook his head.

"A.J's always jealous," he said. I looked at Dani who was talking to Roxxi.

"But I think Cassie told her," I said.

"Cass would never tell. I don't know why you're worried."

He doesn't get it does he? I decided to go grab Dani away from Maggie and Roxxi. I pulled her under the stage.

"What's wrong? Are you mad or something?" I asked her. Dani looked anywhere but me.

"Not at you. At me," she said quietly.

"What?! Why?" I asked. Why would she be mad at herself? She should be mad at me for ever suggesting we go out in the first place.

"Because I said we should keep this a secret."

I kissed her. I didn't care how many people were ontop of the stage. We just made out practically forever, until I stopped.

"Don't be mad. I love you," I said taking a jab at cheering her up. She smiled.

Rehersals dragged on endlessly for DAYS AND DAYS AND DDAAAAAAYYYSSS! I was beginning to get worked up.

Stress was mounting as the first show got nearer. It was in two days. Maggie and Roxxi made good friends so I didn't have to entertain them anymore.

Big and the choreographers made a song where the Jonas Brothers and The Breakers preform together.

Guess what that song is?

Repeating Nightmare.

I almost heaved up my lungs when they told me what song we'd be singing together.

"We heard how well you two kids work together, and that was apparently your best song!" Big was saying.

Me and Nick just stared at him. Nick looked like he was about to lay an egg. I probably looked like a deer in headlights.

"So, get cracking!" Big said. The choreographers dragged me out to get my wardrobe set up.

Where did they even hear about the BOB thing? That was like ACROSS THE COUNTRY practically!

The wardrobe consisted of a black and white striped shirt and jeans. I'm guessing that the boy's had a bigger wardrobe than me.

I decided to go and work this out with Seth who was freaking out about having to do ANYTHING to do with me and Nick's past.

I swear I might have passed out when they told me what song we'd be singing. Joe and Kevin looked at me to see if I was okay.

I felt a bit better once I saw our wardrobe, which was HUGE! I then went to my soon-to-be dressing room and sank down on the couch.

Even though this couch wasn't a kind of couch you can actually SINK into though. It was leather, so I kind of slid right off.

When I finally managed to sit on that thing and someone came in. Thinking it was Dani, I turned around.

It wasn't Dani. Or Joe. Or Kevin. It was A.J.

"Hey Nick," she said. I leaned WAY back in my chair like I was trying to lean as FAR AWAY from her as possible.

"H-hi?" I said. I was afraid of this chick. She was REALLY mean sort of. She came over and sat next to me.

Now I was REALLY afraid. I was quivering.

"What's wrong baby? Why are you hanging with that freak chick," she said. She was leaning closer.

I was leaning farther away.

"D-Dani? She's not a freak chick!" I cried defensively. Defend my girlfriend. Good boyfriend.

"Frrrrrr-eak Chhick," she said rolling the r. I backed to the corner of the seat but she was getting TOO close.

I was stuck and she was practically leaning on top of me!

"J-Joe!" I cried. A.J looked up just as Joe burst into the room.

"Go away A.J," he said forcefully. A.J glared and got up off of me. TO MY RELIEF. Then she glared at Joe and rammed into his shoulder on the way out.

"Th-thanks," I said. I got up and wrenched my self in a hug with Joe.

"Nick, get off. A.J's just a witch."

"She tried to MAKE A MOVE ON ME!" I shouted.

Joe patted me on the back and left.

Thank God Dani wasn't here.

It was the day of the tour! I was kind of happy. My first trip on tour with Nick! Okay, with anybody for that matter.

When we were getting ready to leave that day, Nick came running up to me and shouted something.

"Nick! Nick-calm down! I can't understand you!" I said. Nick took a deep breath and said,

"That A.J girl tried to KISS ME. I yelled at Joe and he saved my skin! I'm sorry Dani," he said.

I don't know why I did what I did next. I started laughing hysterically. Nick was probably in shock that I didn't scream at him and go and rip A.J's hair out.

Mackenzie Burton, Cammy, Cassie, Roxxi, and Maggie were coming with us. They all went in seperate buses.

The bands share buses. And that means, I'll never be with Nick when we're on the road. I was upset about that, but I didn't care.

When the buses were loaded, I was about to get on my bus, but then I caught Nick's eye. It was a long way Los Angeles.

I ran over, steered him behind the bus and we kissed and hugged. Okay! It was only a two hour drive! I don't care!

Then we all had to run to our buses because they were leaving without us. When I got on, Seth shook his head in disgust at me.

"What?" I asked sitting next to him as the bus rumbled on.

"You and the Jonas kid. You make me sick," Seth said.

"Aw, you're just like my brother," I said. Seth brightened at that.

"TRAVIS GARRETT?! Really?! He's like THE BEST drummer!" he said. Well. You can blow me down with a feather.

"TRAVIS?! He doesn't eve have a RECORD DEAL!" I cried.

"FueledByRamen signed the Skeletons up. They already had a concert up in Maine," Seth said.

I think I blacked out after this. I don't know. Travis the Rockstar was still bouncing around in my head.

Joe sighed when I got on. Me and Dani had just finished our kiss goodbye behind our bus.

"You guys really have to be more careful," Joe said. I sighed and kicked back in a chair across from him.

"If you want to keep this a secret that is," Joe said. I looked thoughtfully in the corner of the bus.

"I really don't. I keep hoping that someone will figure it out and leak it to the press. I can only hope really," I said.

Kevin's jaw dropped while Joe just stared wide eyed at me.

"Have you told Dani that?" Kevin said.

"Dani? She wants this thing on the MAJOR DL, I don't think she'd go for it."

"I'm gonna call Serra," Joe said breaking the silence that I had ensewed after my last comment.

Then all we heard was Joe having this mushy conversation with Serena. Poor Travis. You snooze you lose.

Then I saw Dani in the window next to us. I waved wildly at her. She made a goofy face and waved back.

I wrote, "What's up?" on a piece of paper and put it to the window. Dani grabbed a piece of paper and wrote,

"I just figured out my brother got a record deal! NOO!"

We had these kinds of conversations until we got to LA. I think I was gonna like being on tour with the Breakers.

I had just finished my part of the show. I'm waiting for The Jonas Brother's to finish SOS and then we sing Repeating Nightmare.

Great. Relive the past. Just what we need. We were backstage, which looked like a warehouse if you asked me.

Roxxi and Maggie came running over to me all happy.

"That was great!!" Roxxi cried. Maggie nodded smiling.

"Thanks," I said. I was totally out of breath. I was gulping down that Dasani water like I hadn't seen water in days.

Then SOS finished. And I had to run back out.

I watched Dani run back out when Joe brought them back out to sing Repeating Nightmare.

I came over and put a hand around Dani's waist. Hey, who says we can't be friends? She put her arm over my neck and we walked out together.

Seth rolled his eyes and said something that we couldn't hear over the crowd. They were screaming so loud.

Dani whispered in my ear (actually she had to scream it so I can hear),

"Brings back memories huh?"

I smiled and walked in front of the mic. The music started and Dani started singing. It brought back a FLOOD of memories.

When we finished the crowd screamed like crazy. I grabbed the microphone from Joe.

"That song was written a LONG time ago by Miss Danika Garrett!" I cried looking back at Dani.

She smiled and waved to the crowd. I smiled at her and we just stared at each other for like five whole minutes before Joe kicked me.

"Ow," I muttered. Then Dani and the Breakers left and we had to sing When You look Me In The Eyes.

I just thought about Dani for the longest time. Then when the song was over, we took a short break to change wardrobe.

I ran back stage and collided headfirst into Dani and Maggie.

"H-hey Dan," I panted. She pulled me up and I gave her a quick hug before I dashed off to get changed.

I hated running when I was already out of breath.

"Ew," I said wiping myself off. "He's sweaty." Maggie giggled and she went to go see if she could peek into their changing rooms.

"You guys have public signs of affection. Way to keep it a secret," he said. I flushed.

He had a good point.

"You're right. Whatever. We can still say we're just friends," I said defensively. Seth sighed.

"You're not a very good lier. Remember?"

Joe was exahusted after the show, but we were straight off to the next location. We were heading to San Diego now.

Then Seattle, then Lansing, then Manhatten. And more, but I can't remember them. Kevin was up making coffee so I came and sat next to him.

"Hey, it's like 12:00. What are you doing still up?" Kevin asked.

"I could ask you the same question," I said taking a sip of his coffee. Kevin took his coffee back and said,

"What's wrong. You have something on your mind." I sighed. Something was bugging me.

"Ican't stand keeping this a secret," I said. Kevin put the cup down.

"Well Bigmouth Bass, why don't you tell Dani that?" Kevin said.

"Because she won't listen to me. She can keep quiet, I can't."

Kevin looked out the window.

"The key to a good relationship is to be-" he began but I shook my head.

"Yeah, yeah, open and honest. I know. But there's somethings that you can't be open about," I said.

"Tell her. You may not regret it."

"That's what you said the first time I was falling for her. Then we regretted it," I said. Kevin raised his eyebrows at me.

"Do you regret it now?"

I hate when he goes all fortune-cookie on me.

It was morning and I was eating the toast that Bailey had made. Seth passed me a cup of orange juice which reminded me of Nick.

I took my phone out and decided to text him good morning.

Awww he loves me! More! I was probably had a sickly love look on my face because Seth said,

I turned red as Drew, and Bailey looked round.

"Boyfriend?! Who's your boyfriend?" Drew said.

"Ohmigod! You have a BF Dani!!" Bailey cried. Bailey Wyld was WAY too wild.

"Go on Dani, tell them," Seth said smirking. I wanted to slap that smirk right off his face.

"Shut up," I growled through gritted teeth.

"Why? Afraid to say it's Ni-" Then I tackled him. I knocked his coffee all over me and him as I punched and smacked his face and stomach.

Drew than pulled me off Seth, but my attempts were to no good.

"NICK!? As in Nick JONAS?!" Bailey cried. I buried my face in my sticky arms that smiled strongly of mocca bean coffee.

"IT IS!! OHMIGOD! I KNEW YOU GUYS HAD THE HOTS FOR EACH OTHER!!!" Bailey screamed.

I started crying.

"Oh God. Seth, Bailey, you guys made her cry," Drew said. He came over and rubbed my back as I broke down.

Six people know. 1 billion to go.

Right when the bus stopped moving in San Diego, I ran out and opened the door to Dani's bus.

"Oo, it's yout boyfriend Danika," Bailey said. Oooookay, I am SO confused. HOW'D SHE KNOW!?

Then I saw Dani's face. It was blotchy and red. She had tear stains where her mascara had run.

"Give it up Nick. They know," she said feebly. Uh oh. This isn't gonna go well.

"Dani, I CAN'T STAND IT!" I blurted. Right when I said it, I wished I could take it back.

Dani looked up. She already looked hurt and broken, why was I doing this to her?!

"I can't stand the secrets!" I cried. Bailey and Drew stared in silence at me and Dani. I saw a single tear rund down her cheek.

It went to the bridge of her nose and fell into her lap. She was covered in coffee. I wonder where Seth was?

"NICK! IT'S USELESS! YOU'RE RIGHT!" Dani shouted right back. She was already in a fit of hysterics and she erupted into more tears again.

I knew the stress of keeping quiet was already too much for Dani like it was for me. I couldn't stand not telling someone.

"Dani," I whispered. I knew I'd screwed up. I knew I shouldn't have attacked when she was already upset.

I kicked her when she was down.

"Dani, I'm sorry. I really am," I said. I went over to her knelt in front of her. I took her hand.

It looked like I was proposing, but GOD knows I wouldn't. Imagine keeping THAT a secret.

She looked at me, then at Drew and Bailey.

"Hello? This isn't a soap opera. Get moving. Unload the van. I'll catch up," she said in a shaky voice.

Drew and Bailey pretty much flew out of there. She looked back at me.

"It doesn't matter. It was stupid trying to keep this quiet. Travis was right," she said shrugging and looking at her shoe.

"It was bull."

I sighed. I got up, sat next to her and she put her head on my shoulder. My sleeve was slowly getting damp.

"Should we tell all of them?" I asked. Dani shrugged again.

"I don't know what to do anymore," she said. I took a tissue and wiped her tears up like a good boyfriend.

"You should go get ready. The show's in four hours you know," I said smiling. She had a bad attempt in trying to smile.

"Okay."

I kissed her on the forehead and she got up and went to go clean up.

Right when I left Nick I felt a pain in my chest. It was like a deep black sucking chest wound where there once was a heart.

I think that all my friends took turns of taking my heart and throwing it to the Hell Hounds for a chew toy.

I felt so.......betrayed.

Seth had hurt me. Intentionally. Bailey had laughed at me. Nick had yelled at me. Drew at least defended me.

What next? Maggie tell the whole thing to a journalist? Roxxi hang out with the boyfriend stealing A.J?

Cassie blow the truth everywhere? It could go on! I never knew how much people had against me.

They could black mail me! I was upset now. I was redoing my makeup, so just incase, I put on waterproof mascara and eyeliner.

I was pretty sure it would meet water again today.

I felt like a jerk. How could I've done that to her? To my GIRLFRIEND?! I climbed back into the bus and Kevin looked up from putting on his sock.

"How it go?" he asked eagerly.

"Crappy," I said sitting down and pulling a pair of jeans out of my bag. Kevin sighed.

"What happened?" he asked. I told him. And by retelling it, I felt even more like a underhanded, two-faced moron.

"Oh jeez. Nick, I'm sorry," Kevin said. I got up and buttoned up my pants.

"You should be. You gave me REALLY bad advice," I snapped. I pulled on a new shirt and pulled on my sneakers.

"C'mon Nick!" Kevin cried following me out of the bus and into the stadium.

"It could still work out!"

"Oh gimme a break Kevin. YOU'RE NOT CONFUSIOUS DUMMY!" I cried. That was a really lame thing to say, so I ran into the stadium.

I caught up with Seth. Don't ask me why. I guess God didn't really like me today.

"Oh, it's you. I guess I got in a lot of trouble with Dani huh?" he said. I looked at him.

"What did you do to her?" I asked. Seth shook his head.

"I was being a jerk. I told the entire band that you two are together. I doubt Dani's even gonna talk to me again," he said.

He looked really upset.

"You like her don't you?" I asked. I KNEW IT! I had a BAD feeling that he did.

"What?! Dude, she's YOUR girlfriend!" he said. But his face gave it away. Then he ran away to catch up with Bailey and Drew.

Now who's a two-faced jerk?

The next few weeks on tour went smoothly. Then we stopped for a vacation over Easter. Me and Nick decided not to talk about the argument we had had.

We also have yet to tell anyone. We were lounging around in Nick's room. It was just me, Nick, Joe and Kevin.

No Cassie, Cammy, Roxxi, or Maggie. But in here, me and Nick were alone. The first time in three weeks.

We hadn't spoken much since then either. We said hi. Waved. Talked about the weather occasionally.

But besides that, we haven't said more than a few sentences to each other in almost a month.

It was killing me. I was itching to tell him to tell anyone he wants. I wouldn't care. But I didn't.

I couldn't bring myself to say a word to him. Everytime my brain formed words, I had my mouth all set and ready to say them, then I chickened out.

I had nothing to say. I then looked at Nick. We had just been sitting on his bed in awkward silence.

Then Nick started to pretend to cut something in midair. I just watched him for awhile and then I said,

"What the heck are you doing?"

Nick shot me one of his big smiles.

"Cutting the tension."

Boy did it ever. We moved so are knees were touching. Now our feet were on the bed and we were facing each other.

"I'm sorry Danika," he said. He never used my full name unless he wanted a full long conversation.

With any part of our mouths. Tee-hee.

"I am too! I mean I was an over-emotional wreck! I'm so-" before I could finish Nick had grabbed me and started kissing me.

Talk about over emotional. This was WAY emotional. I was soon drifting over a mental cloud in heaven.

I was floating with Nick next to me. All I felt was him. All I wanted was him.

This must be the best Easter EVER. I was pretty sure that only one of my brothers had ever kissed a girl like this

And that was Joe. Obviously. Him and Serra probably did MORE than this. Please God tell me that that isn't true.

But Dani was a better kisser than Miley. Or Sadie! Or even.......God what was her name? Lara or Lama or something like that.

Then there was a knock on the door.

"Uhh, guys? Are you okay?" Joe asked through the door.

"Mmm-hhmm," I said still attatched to Dani. Then Joe opened the door. I guess the scene looked a little emotional.

But did Joe care? Nope.

"Mail's here," he said chucking a ton of envelopes at me and Dani's heads. I grabbed an envelope from the pile.

"Hey. What's this?" Dani broke away from me to see what was in the letter. I tore open an envelope labled:

Mr. Nick Jonas & Miss Danika Garrett

"Hmm," I said. I unfolded the letter. Read it. And dropped it.

Nick Jonas & Danika Garrett

I know your secret. And if you don't do as I say I will tell everyone.
If you don't want the world to know about your dating status and
what you two do in your spare time you better obey my command.
Your task will come in a letter and it will come each day. I hope
you decide to listen to me or you'll see more than your names on

A Little Birdy

A picture of me and Dani kissing behind the tour bus fell out of the envelope. Than another picture of me and Dani hugging backstage.

"It's.....it's a blackmail letter!" Dani cried. The letter was written in what appeared to be cut-out letters from magazines.

"JOE! KEVIN!" I cried. I heard footsteps and my brothers came into our room.

"What is it?" Kevin asked. I shoved the letter in his face. Joe read it over his shoulder.

"Holy cow," Kevin said.

"Holy crap," Joe said.

I called Maggie that night and told her I was spending the night with the Jonas's. I wanted to be here when that letter came.

Kevin helped me make my bed in the living room on the couch. He said over his dead body was me and Nick sharing a room.

I sat down on my couch bed and waited for Nick to get out of the shower so we could watch a movie together.

I was afraid to know what the next letter was gonna say. I didn't want to know what it was gonna make me do.

Or Nick. This could ruin our career. Nick came out of the shower, hair damp and in pajama pants with a white shirt on.

He sat down next to me while I turned the movie on. Nick sat there in silence for awhile before he spoke.

"What do you think it's gonna say?" he asked. I shrugged.

"Probably something horrible for us to do," I said.

"Who do you think sent it?"

"Someone who hates us."

Nick nodded in agreement.

"I bet," he said. We watched the Wedding Singer for a bit more than we both fell asleep on the couch.

I had a dream that Nick was singing at our wedding. Something about being dumped or something.

Then we were married and a big envelope made from magazine letters came saying that we needed to wear a lampshade on our heads and dance tha macarana for the press.

I woke up drenched in sweat. By Joe shouting,

"LOOK! THERE'S ANOTHER ONE!"

Nick was already up and was already grabbing the letter from Joe. I woke up and joined the brothers around the kitchen table.

There was toast and bagles which Nick pushed away to open the letter fully. The letter was labled DANIKA GARRETT on it.

"How'd they know I was here?!" I cried. Nick shook his head as he read the letter. Then he passed it to Joe.

Joe shook his head and went,

"That's WRONG."

Then he passed it to Kevin who rolled his eyes in disgust, then they finally passed it to me.

It was the night in the concert. I was off for the night. I had no concerts so I sat backstage to watch.

Poor Dani was shaking so badly. She ran up to me, and I guided her into the coverage of a huge pile of crates.

"I can't do this! I can't disappoint the fans!" she cried. She actually WAS crying. She was wigging out.

"I know! But I don't know what else we can do," I said. I felt terrible. I had dragged Dani along by the hair into this whole mess.

"B-but.....they payed, they should get their money's worth-" Dani stuttered. Then Maggie told Dani that she was on.

Dani burst into more tears.

"Calm down! Just do as it says and then we'll be safe," I said. She wiped her eyes.

"That's kind of selfish. I think I should think of the fans before ourselves," she whispered.

Boy did I feel like a shmu** then.

"Do what you think is right Dan," I said. She smiled and squeezed my hand. She then ran off wiping her cheeks off.

"So," a voice said. I whirled around and came face to face with A.J. "How's the Freak Chick doing?"

I narrowed my eyes at her. She smirked at me. I had a hunch but I was gonna keep it to myself.

"Fine, thanks," I snapped. She leered and stepped in front of me. She had her whole body pressed up against mine.

"Dump her," she hissed. I spun out from under her and fast walked to the other side of the stage.

I stepped on stage with Seth who smiled at me. I avoided my gaze. I felt bad that the whole band was gonna take a dip because of me.

"Hey LOS ANGELES! HOW YOU DOING OUT THERE?!" I shouted. They cheered. I sighed.

"Well, we'll fix that," I said. Drew started tapping his drumsticks together.

"One.....three...two?" I said softly. Seth shot me a look and I shot him an I'm-sorry look in advanced.

4ever and Never started.

"We all loved you....lablah blah blah,"

I muttered into the microphone. The crowd fell silent all staring at me in shock. I kept going.

"Did I mention that we loved you forever? Blah blah blah?" I said speaking up a bit louder.

I then looked once backstage. There stood Nick with his head in his hand. That made me perk up.

No WAY was I disappointing my fans. I'd worked my BUTT off to get here, and I wasn't gonna chuck to singing in the drain like I used to.

"But now that it's over I'll always pretend
That you loved me! THAT YOU LOVED ME!"

I screamed getting back to the REAL song. I was making sure that I was making up for the rough patch in the beginning.

The crowd was cheering again.

"But now it's forever n' never I'll love
you whenever just take this love of mine
and turn it like a piece of twine!"

I was carrying far away from the mumbling in the begginning. I didn't care. They could tell the PRESIDENT and I wouldn't care.

Then I looked at Nick again. He shot me his big smile.

Me and Nick glared at A.J who glared right back.

"So you found me out. So what? You still have to do what I say or I will tell," she said. Nick narrowed his eyes until they were slits.

"We can still stop you," he snapped. She leered.

"With what proof?" she hissed.

"Your letter dummy," I added.

"I didn't sign it. Dummy," she said. I looked at Nick. He didn't back down.

"Fine then. What do you want us to do so you can keep your big pie hole shut?" he said. She shook her head.

"Not US, you," she said pointing at Nick.

"Me?"

"Yes. I want you to do a ribbon dance in front of the media," she said evily. I had to supress a giggle at the thought of Nick ribbon dancing.

Nick's jaw dropped.

"In a tutu," A.J added. This time I had to pinch myself to shut up. Then Seth dragged me back onstage.

"Actually REMEMBER the words this time. Would you?" he said. I ignored him. I was still mad at him. Remember?

"ARE YOU KIDDING?!" I said slowly.

She flounced away to go laugh with this crony she had brought with her. I was trying to ignore my pounding head.

I was freaking out. I then ran to Joe and told him who Little Birdy was.

"RIBBON DANCING?!" he cried. Then he started laughing.

"Dude! It's not funny!" I shouted.

"I know! But you in a tutu is!" Joe hooted. I slapped him and walked away angrily. I looked at Dani onstage.

She glanced at me and shot me a look of apology. I guess she felt bad that she had wormed her way out and I couldn't.

I guess it could be worse. She could've said a leotard AND a tutu. Then I think I would have jumped out a window.

I didn't even know HOW to ribbon dance. Which, if you think about it, must be the point.

Man, A.J's good. Not GOOD-good. She's BAD good. Evily, dementedly good. Cause she HAD ME.

She had me BAD.

Dani was rocking out on-stage. Her part of the nightmare was over, but mine wasn't. I was pretty sure this was gonna be a REAL repeating nightmare.

I glanced at Dani. We were sitting in the car about to get out with the rest of my brothers.

I wasn't wearing a tutu. I wasn't carrying ribbons. I was gonna beat A.J to the point. I was gonna get there first.

"Remember the plan?" I asked her. She sighed and nodded.

We climbed out of the car with the rest of the Breakers and Kevin and Joe. A.J wasn't here yet.

We were gonna save saying anything until after the movie. The press was at a MOVIE THEATER.

These people have GOT to get lives. I walked into the movies to catch the rest of Juno.

I was nervous through the entire movie. I was busy wondering if me and Dani had decided to make the right choice.

Lugging my brothers and her band everywhere was just covering up the fact that we were in love. And dating of course.

Then the movie ended. During the credits, me and Dani looked at each other again. We had been holding hands in the popcorn container.

"Are you sure we should do this?" Dani asked. I nodded. It was the only way around this.

"What else can we do? Be bossed around by a schisofrenic phsyco?" I asked. She shrugged.

"Point well taken," she said. Then I looked at Joe and Kevin.

"Stay here for a minute guys. Me and Dani have to do something," I said. We beat the crowd out.

We headed up to the press. There in the crowd was a girl with sunglasses and a hat on.

The hat was covering her hair, but she was obvioulsy a reporter.

Lynetta? What was she doing here? I nudged Nick and pointed to her. We headed past the roped off section and came and stood in front of Lyn.

"Hey, we have something we like to say," I said to Lynetta. She blinked at me through her black lenses.

The media had flocked us like a many headed bird. The were shoving microphones and recorders in our faces.

Lynetta held up her recorder. She apparently knew that I wanted this directly for her. I needed to help her get out of Gossip Girl.

"We're dating!" me and Nick both cried. The entire media fell silent for a split second. Then there were even more flashes.

Lynetta's jaw had dropped as she just dangled the recorder aimlessly in front of us.

"For three months!" Nick cried. He was laughing now. I can't blame him. It felt good to get that off our chests.

"It took you long enough to say something!" Lynetta blurted. We laughed.

"Why didn't you say anything to the media before?" A lady from CosmoGirl cried.

"Because it was easier than doing this," I said.

"And we didn't want anyone judging us," Nick added.

"OHMIGAWD! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!?!" Michelle was screaming when I came in. I blinked dumbly at her.

What was she talking about?

Then she held up two magazines. Both of which were laiden with pictures of me and Nick in front of the press.

"Whoa. That was fast," I said. Michelle stared at me with wide eyes.

"FAST?! THREE MONTHS?! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?!"

She was sounding like my mother. So I sat her and Maggie down and I told her the whole story.

From boarding school to the end. When I had finished, they were staring at me with their jaws on the floor.

"So, is he a good kisser?" Michelle asked excitedly. It felt good to talk to some people about the girly things in a relationship.

"Uh-duh!" I cried. Maggie sighed.

"I wish I kissed him," she said breathlessly. I laughed.

"Me too," Michelle said.


My friends were in on it. I was so happy! Me and Nick were free! Forever! We would live together forever!

"JOE! WHAT IS IT?!" I cried.

"Bad news. That's what," he said.

"Bad news for you and Dani," Kevin said.

I froze. Then I looked slowly at Joe and Kevin who were at either sides of the room.

"What. Is. Going. On," I said slowly.

"We're going to Europe again," Joe said.

"For 4 months," Kevin added.

"Then we can take Dani with us," I said. I was getting a sick feeling in my stomach.

What is wrong with my life?!

"No, we can't. She's gotta stay," Kevin said.

I slumped on the couch. My entire relationship drowning before my eyes.

"You're saying I should break up with her?" I asked quietly. Joe shrugged.

"Well, it's not really fair to her. You know? Just wait around everyday for you to get back? It's not fair," he said.

Kevin nodded.

I moaned.

"Can't I stay HERE?!" I cried. Kevin shook his head.

"Can't be the three Jonas Brothers without number three."

This majorly sucks. I loved Dani. How could this happen?!

I was about to leave the studio. I was ecstatically happy. Nothing could crush the feeling that I had swelling inside.

Things were going GREAT. We were dating, and there were no more secrets. None. We were free rein.

I was walking out the door with Seth. A.J hasn't been seen since the Black Mail number two.

I was pushing open the door when I saw Nick. He grabbed my hand so that I stopped pushing the door.

"Hey," I said smiling. Nick didn't smile back. The media were snapping pictures of us and I didn't care.

"Come here," he said. He guided me back into the building. I saw Seth, Kevin, and Joe exchange a look.

Then Seth turned and left without me.

Sometimes, I wish that I had a remote. A remote that controlled reality like in that movie Click with Adam Sandler in it.

That I could hit rewind. Pause it at my favorite part. Never leave to Europe. Never do what I was gonna do now.

I knew Joe was right. It wouldn't be fair. But for some reason, I couldn't help but not care.

My ethics were bigger than that though. Everytime I think, ah well, I'm sure Dani wouldn't care, my ethics speak up.

I know she would. Every girl would. If I was a girl, I would.

But now, I was letting my ethics speak. I knew if I spoke my mind, I wouldn't have my brain backing up my mouth.

So, I led Dani back into the corner where our relationship first started. How's that for irony. It starts and ends in the same place.

I didn't WANT it to end. Don't get me wrong, it was MURDERING me on the inside. I didn't want to go to stinkin' Europe.

I've BEEN there, it wasn't all that great.

We sat down on the same chairs and I let go of her. I didn't want to touch her, to try and make this easier for me.

"Dani, this is really hard for me to say," I began. All the blood was rushing to my head and I thought I was shaking.

"Wait, Nick what's wr-" she began, but I held up a hand.

"I talk. You listen," I said. I knew it was a mean thing to say to her. Especially since I was dying telling her this.

"I-I'm going to Europe. For our Europe tour," I said softly. She wrinkled her brow and looked confused.

But she stayed quiet, so I went on.

"For four months. We're leaving tomorrow morning. And I think," I said. I was forcing myself to say this.

"And I think, that we should see other people."

I watched Dani crumble. She seemed to shrink. And she got paler. Like someone lowered the contrast by a mile.

She didn't speak though, and I felt worse.

It's over. My life's done. RIP. That's it. I felt like something like a battering ram, was let loose in my heart.

And it tore everything down.

"I just think, it wouldn't be fair for me to expect you to wait around for me to get back. It's not a good idea. And anyway, long distance relationships never work," he said.

What happens if I WANTED TO wait for him? What happens if I didn't CARE? I was starting to cry.

I knew I was. I wasn't sobbing, I was just silently and calmly crying. I felt a teardrop slide down my cheek.

Nick looked so upset when he saw this.

"Danika, I'm so sorry about this," he whispered. I nodded. Then thoughts came pouring out of my mouth full flow.

"What happens if I don't care?! What happens if I WILL wait for you?!" I cried. Now I was sobbing.

Things couldn't have gone any worse.

To think, I thought I was on top of the world five minutes ago. That nothing could go wrong. That everything was great.

"Still, I know it wouldn't work," Nick whispered. He looked down at the table, which now had a pool of my tears on it.

"Bye Dani," he said. Then he got up, and followed his brothers up the stairs. He glanced back at me.

The last time I would see him in a long time.

This wasn't resting in peace. This was resting in Hell.

Things change. And today, TOO many things had changed. I'm sitting in my bed at my apartment, scarfing down Haggan Diaz.

I had also polished off all the coffee cake I had in the fridge for breakfast. I just kept listening to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAAY8E8nAuw) song.

It reminded me of Nick and plunged me deeper into depression. I had cried myself dry. When I tried to cry more, nothing happened.

I wanted to die. That's it. I have lost the will to live. Face it, my life is meaningless without Nick.

It's so pathetic, but it's true. Things have changed.

I loved Nick, and now he's probably hurtiling at three thousand miles and hour to Europe. Far away from me.

And, what happens if he meets some hot European girl? And they like get married or something!

Then he'd forget all about me. I looked down at my arms. It had been one whole day and I had pulled a Travis.

My arm was bleeding and I didn't feel like washing it. I had fallen down. I had slipped. I cut myself.

Depression was deep man. And it was upsetting. It made me do some pretty wild things. I had eaten EVERYTHING in the fridge.

I had sent Maggie back home. I had told her that I couldn't stand company now. I had unplugged my phone cord.

I had shut off my cell phone and shoved it into my sock drawer. My computer had also been unplugged.

I had my door locked, my shades closed. I had cracked open the Frasier DVDs and I was ready for a marathon of all eleven seasons.

That should last me long enough. I wasn't gonna go into the studio for awhile. I was gonna let myself adjust.

Things changed. It was gonna happen in life. And life's not fair. I was gonna have to get used to it.

I could get over a boy. A boy that I haven't even told him officially that I had loved him. I never said I was IN love with him.

Just loved him. But I knew Nick didn't want to hurt me. It wasn't his fault that he's extremely famous and successful.

I was gonna move on. I was gonna be okay.

I looked out my window. I watched the private landing strip at Los Angeles get smaller.

I pulled shut the curtains attatched to the window. I couldn't stand to see it go. I couldn't leave her.

I just couldn't. Joe knew how upset I was. He just glanced over at me and patted me reassuringly on the shoulder.

I shrugged off his hand. I didn't want company. I didn't want anyone telling me that they were sorry for me.

I wanted to be alone.

Joe got the point, and backed off. I pulled my knees up to my chest and looked down at my phone.

I skimmed down the callers in my contact list.

I sighed and looked at the ceiling. I rubbed my forehead and looked down at my phone again.

I knew Dani had meant the world to me. I knew we had to give it a break. We had kept it quiet for so long.

Now it was over.

But I knew it would be okay. I'd move along. But I knew I wouldn't be the same without Danika Garrett in my life.

I went through the pictures on my phone. I only had one of Dani and me on my phone.

This made me almost cry, because Dani had sent this to me two weeks ago with a text to me.
