Budget Cuts

I know this has been a big problem in southern california schools but i'm not sure about anywhere else. Tons of schools have been doing major budget cuts that dont need it. My science teacher was cut and wont be here next year, so now there wont be any AP classes for 9th grade sciences anymore. My school is one of the top 10 wealthiest schools in socal and we're doing this. The school would rather spend it on smart boards[computerized white boards], or on weights for pe. Some kids at my school even want to start a protest, which i think is kind of pointless seeing as how stubborn my school is but ya, its getting to be a lot.
Has anyone else had this happen at their school yet?

I'm in canada, and i haven't heard of anything like this happening to us :/
I find that really strange that wealthier schools are trying to cut down on what they spend. All that's happening at our school is them trying to cut down on our paper usage and we're focusing more on having an "eco school". :P

This used to happen to me at public school but at private school they're not cutting all the time. they're just always like charging our parents extra tuition for stupid stuff when they realize the bills for the school are higher than they would like =/
or if they want more money for their second band/gym building that the walk-a-thon wouldn't raise money for.
which always makes my dad SO HAPPY to see extra deductions on my tuition bill haha =P

omj their doing that 2 my skool 2 their trying to take out summer skool (for ppl who wanna get geography and health over with 2 take more electives) middle skool sports the ib program and alot more other stuff its making me really mad!

I haven't heard of anything like this going on at my school. I don't get it though, if your school is wealthy why would they want to have a budget cut? lol

They are doing things like that at my school.
They haven't cut teachers YET this year
but they did last year
they cut a bunch of teachers
and they do the same thing
they spend the money on smart boards
like my old science class has one and he RARELY uses it
he only uses it for warm ups
and thats it
at least if they are going to give it to a teacher
give it to one that will use it.

Yeah, this happened to us.
There's a lot of things we don't have
But yet, almost all classrooms at the middle school and high school
have a smart board
and all classes at the middle schools have ipods and speakers

It's not going on at our schools.
My school gets too much money out of the students and families do they don't need to.
but we have the projector thingy that you can see everything from the
computer on the screen and our math teachers have that writing pad
where they can write on it.
but they haven't cut teachers yet.

thats how my school is too kaitlin
they take all the money from the kids and familys with so many fundraisers, our school is really wealthy and theyre spending it on the equiptment rather then the teachers, which without them, we cant use the stuff they buy

same here!!!! omg like my moms a teacher and she was afraid shewas gunna loose her job i live in northern cali.....near redding....sorta ha ha :P:P im close to sac 2. and like we have smart boards 2!! there soooo cool!!! this is totally off subject but...a funna smart board story :
so my history teachers smart board was off center so the picture was on the wall not the touch sensitve part....and so she was trying to press sumthing...but it wason the wall part and she was like why isnt it wrking>!??! and we were all like...that parts not on the smart board and she was all red....ha ha ha
