Here is my review of and story from the Best of Both Worlds Concert 3D movie.
I went last night in Los Angeles at 7:30pm. It was a sold out show, so they gave us this whole long talk about taking our tickets with us if we have to leave for some reason because no one is getting in without a ticket and it wouldnt be fair to those who actually paid.
It was a fairly small theater so we didn't have to worry about it getting too crazy. But as soon as the movie started these 12 year olds (they looked about 12, maybe 13) in the back row started screaming their heads off every single time the jonas brothers came on screen, were mentioned, or if they were performing and the camera angle switched. throughout the entire show. I was in the 2nd row and they were in the back and I heard them as if they were right behind me (but i know they were in the back because my mom was back there. she didnt want to sit up close). It really annoyed me and I felt like screaming "shut up!" but that would be mean, plus they wouldn't have listened anyway. I know that from experience. I happen to be very close to an overly obsessed jonas brothers fan....
The 3D was really good in my opinion. It looked so close to real its not even funny. I even felt like I was at another show for a couple seconds ;) hehe. and like when it was being shot from the crowd and there are people's hands in front of you, i even waved my hand in front of my face a couple times because there was this annoying hand in front of my nose. haha. so i guess the technology is developing very well ;)
The thing I really didn't like was the fact that they cut out over half of the concert :(. They didn't show either of my favorite Miley songs (good and broken and right here) and they didnt show Hannah's old blue jeans (which i like because it reminds me of wizards. dont ask). They cut out more than just those (like the jonas brothers whole first set, which i wont complain about since im not a fan), but those 3 songs were the real disappointments for me. And I wish they had shown more backstage stuff. A couple things they show in the commercial for it on disney channel aren't even in the movie.
Sitting up close is actually better than sitting farther back, in my opinion. It feels more real that way because you can actually feel like you're in the crowd when there are no other rows of seats in front of you ;) plus it's bigger. Ive been up close for a few other movies and it got kinda hard to watch, but this one wasn't hard to watch at all.
So overall, without the girls screaming and the stuff they cut out, I thought it was pretty good. but not quite a good enough substitute for the concert if you didn't get to go. Its kind of like you get to go and see like half of the show. The backstage stuff was pretty funny and cool to see, and the beginning was so random and hilarious ;)
I give the movie a 7.5/10, maybe an 8 since I'm in a good mood today ;) haha.
if you're only a jonas brothers fan and not a miley fan, i dont know what you're doing in the miley section (haha but thats not what I was gonna say). If you're only going to see the jonas brothers, i would recommend not going because they show them a little in the backstage stuff, but they only showed 2 of their songs (well 3 if you count we got the party). If you do decide to go, don't ruin the movie for others by screaming at the top of your lungs every time they move. save that for a REAL concert.
I think the highlight of my evening was actually after the movie when we were walking back to the car and Tila Tequila walked by with 2 girls and 2 guys. It was so random but i didnt quite realize it was her until after she was already gone. so no pics or anything haha. weird.
so what did you guys think if you've already seen it?
