.1) First, get your base. You may use mine, if you wish. Sharpen it, crop it for an avvie, etc. I sharpened mine twice, and then later on sharpened his eyes twice with the Sharpen Tool (not available for Photoshop users).
.2) Duplicate your base twice. Set the first to Multiply, and the second to Screen. Both @ 100% opacity.
.3) Make a new Hue//Saturation//Lightness layer (Hue//Saturation in photoshop) and bump up the Saturation.
This depends on your picture. Mess around with it. The key is experimenting :)
.4) Make a new Color Balance layer. These are my settings:
Midtones//0,-50,0
Shadows//-82,0,0
(This also depends on your picture. Mine was too pinkish//reddish, and this step only struck a few things, like the eyelashes, eyebrows, eyeshadow and some of the hair. All of those things (on my picture) either turned darker or purpler. Which I liked in the result.)
.4) Duplicate the Hue//Saturation//Lightness (Again, Hue//Saturation for photoshop) and drag it to the top (of the Color Balance layer).
.5) Duplicate your background, drag it to the top of everything and set it to Soft Light at 50% opacity.
.6) Last step; make a new Raster Layer (normal layer for photoshop), fill it with #000000 (black) and set it to Overlay at 25% opacity.
And you're done! (:
I would like to see results! Hear C&C! (((:
