INTRO
2017. That's the year right now -- exactly 10 years since my obsession with the Jonas Brothers started and from there, never died. Of course I took down my posters and stopped being a crazed, teen fan {after all, I am 24 years old now} but I still love them. I own every own of their albums {including every deluxe and "bonus Jonas" edition} and I've been to over 10 concerts.
So when I discovered the news that their next and 7th album would be their last, I pretty much died.
Of course I knew this day would come someday -- there was obviously no preventing it. In fact, the Jonas Brothers had lasted longer than many people's expectations. Every album since their 3rd had gone platinum multiple times, and they had their own arena tour at least once a year.
I knew it was probably time for them to move on with their lives. Nick was 25, Joe was 28, and Kevin was 30. But was I ready for it to end?
Definitely not.

Chapter One: this is the end (or it's just the beginning)




"I can't believe this is it," I said softly, my eyes focused on the ground. It was such a bitter-sweet moment. I was ready to move on with my life, but a part of me wanted to stay in this world forever.

When I looked up, Kevin was nodding with me in agreement. "I know," he said, "Last song."

I heard a noise coming from next to me. Boom boom chicka boom ... nsk nsk boom chicka boom ...

What the -- "Joe!" Kevin said "harshly", but nearly laughing. Joe had been randomly beatboxing ... so typical of him.

Joe looked up and raised one eyebrow, clearly confused. "Wait, wha-- oh, sorry!" he said, laughing a little. Kevin shook his head in disapproval but grinned, "Way to ruin a 'moment'!" and hit him playfully on the arm.

A voice sounded in the recording studio and I turned torwards the glass.
"Alright guys, this is it," our producer said, "Last song. Ready? Nick, you first."

I nodded and put on my headphones, facing the microphone. I sang the first lines of the songs as best I could, knowing it was the last chance I get. As I wrapped it up, the producer told me it was perfect and there was no need to re-record anything. That hardly ever happened.

Kevin & Joe then recorded, and we were all done. It felt good to finally be done recording, but it also felt like a huge part of our life was completely gone.

None of us even said anything at all as we listened to the playback, packed up our things and walked out of the studio. It just didn't seem like there was anything right to say at that moment. I took one last glance at the studio as I walked out the door, knowing it was the last time.

Was I really ready for this to end?

Chapter Two: say goodbye




8 weeks later...

Casey's POV:
I sighed, resting my cheek on my hand. "I'm boreddddddd," I announced to everyone, and they laughed.

"What else is new?" Kristin smirked, sitting next to me and peering over my shoulder at the computer. Katie and Adri both giggled, and Aly and Nichole only rolled their eyes.

Okay ... so we were all in our twenties now. But did that mean we were too old to have sleepovers? Duh, of course not!

"What'cha doing?" Lex said curiously, sitting next to Kristin behind me.

"Nothing ..." I said, biting my lip, trying not to laugh.

"More Jonas Brothers stuff?" Ashley sighed, giggling, "C'mon Casey, give it a rest! We love them too, but we're not fifteen anymore!"

I giggled, "I can't help it! Normally I wouldn't be doing this, but their album comes out in two weeks! Cut me some slack!"

The girls just giggled, but then I gasped. They heard me and most walked over to see what I was gasping at.

"What?" Katie said, squinting her eyes at the screen.

My eyes hoevered around the screen. No ... this wasn't happening ... the YouTube video was titled: "This is it -- the last album". It was from the Jonas Brothers' official YouTube.

I clicked on it quickly and turned up the sound. Everyone else seemed to stop moving at that moment, as they saw what I had been looking at.

Joe, Nick and Kevin's faces appeared on the screen.

"Hey guys," Kevin's voice sounded, "It's us, the Jonas Brothers and we have some important news to announce."

Joe nodded in agreement. "Our next and 7th album is going to be our last album released. It's been an incredible ride, but we're ready to move on and pursue other things."

Nick chimed in, "This band would have been nothing without you, though. Thank you so much for all your support, and I hope you enjoy this last album as much as we enjoyed recording it."

Kevin piped up, "Some of our earliest fans probably remember the song Year 3000, one of our first hits? Well in the song, we said 'everybody bought our 7th album'. So we thought that our 7th being our last was kind of fitting," he explained.

Joe grinned, "So please make it happen, and everyone go buy our 7th album! Tell your friends, and tell them to tell their friends to buy it, and they can tell their friends, and--"

"Ok Joe, we get it," Nick laughed, "Thank you, god bless. We love you guys."

"X's and O's!" Joe grinned, and they all made x's and o's with their hands.

And then, the video clicked off. And I didn't really know what to say. Everyone just kind of sat there. We all knew this day would come someday, of course we did ... but being ready for it to happen?

That was another story.
