New Town, New Life

---Katie’s POV---
Um…hi--- I’m Katie. And that’s my life story. Never been anywhere interesting, never done anything exciting. I never had any time. My dad’s job location changes nearly once a month, so we were always moving…right when I would get used to, or starting to get used to, someplace, we’d get…that call.
God I hate that call. It was the call that told my dad he was being transferred, and we moved…again, again… and again… I didn’t have any siblings, and never had time to make friends, so I spent almost all my time alone in my room. Each year and Christmas, I put one thing on my list, I just wanted to stay in one place, have friends…have a life, for once. When we moved to L.A. and my dad promised to stay there until my graduation, I got more than I had bargained for.

I had seen this way too many times. The movie truck, the empty house, everything. I was in the car behind the moving truck, my parents had picked out the house without me, and so this was my first time seeing it. I’m used to moving, but I was excited to go to L.A. The car parked and I got outside. Whoa, it was way hotter here than when we had got in the car earlier that day at our old house. I looked inside the house, it was way bigger than any other house we had ever lived in…and that’s saying something. We’ve lived in A LOT of different places and houses.
I put my stuff inside in my room, but didn’t feel like un-packing yet. I was a little nervous, meeting the neighbors, so I decided to put it off for as long as possible, considering it was summer break that could be a while, or a week, who knows? I helped my mom put some stuff away in the downstairs and then finally decided to put my stuff away in my room. I finished and looked out the window, feeling the warm air of California against my cheeks, blowing my long brown hair a little bit. I sighed. Just then I saw someone outside next-door, someone I seemed to recognize. “Oh my freaking goshhhh…” I said, slowly and quietly to myself. It was Joe Jonas. I loved the Jonas Brothers. You see, since I was alone all the time, I listened to music all the time, and they were my favorite, ever. Seriously, I was obsessed, and Joe was my favorite…obviously… I didn’t know what I was going to do…why was he next door?
Did he seriously LIVE there? I mean I knew they lived near here but next DOOR?! Oh no, oh no, oh no.
I saw him coming to the front door with something most likely to welcome us. Part of me wanted to go down there but I didn’t know what I would say to him so I listened through my door to hear what was happening.
I heard a knock at the door and my Mom saying she’d get it. She opened the door.
“Hi” I heard my mom say.
“Hi. Um we live next door and I just wanted to welcome you guys to the neighborhood” Joe said. I could recognize his voice anywhere. I also knew my mom knew who he was. I hoped she would play it cool, but the chances of that were very, very slim… I then heard footsteps and another voice, a girl’s voice…a voice I didn’t recognize at all. I then heard my mom saying how she knew who he was and how her daughter loved him and his brothers. Oh god, here we go. So much for that plan.
Alright, I had to get down there. With the embarrassment and unknown women figure, I needed to see what was going on down there. I walked down casually, as though I didn’t know anyone was at the door at all. “Oh…hi” I said, grinning at them. Oh dang, the girl is pretty too…
“Hey” Joe said. The girl spoke next “Hi, welcome to the neighborhood”
Oh great, and she’s nice too? Danget. I smiled at both of them, “thanks. I’m Katie”
Joe introduced himself, I wanted be like “DUH! I know who you are!” but I didn’t say that.
“I’m Jenny” the pretty, nice girl said, grinning. She was holding Joe’s hand, yep deffinatly his girlfriend.
“Well we have to go, but I’m having some people over later at seven, I live right across the street…if you want to come” Jenny said smiling.
I nodded, “Uh, yeah sure” I smiled; happy someone actually liked me enough to invite me over. They left and I yelled at my mom about embarrassing me and telling Joe about my obsession with the Jonas Brothers then went back up to my room.

Later that night, at seven o’clock…

I went across the street, nervously, to Jenny’s house. I knocked, slowly and waited.
Oh god I shouldn’t of come, oh wait yes I should. Ugh this is making me too nervous….
The door opened and I saw Jenny standing there grinning “you came!” she said surprised, smiling. “Come on in” she said stepping out of the way. I walked inside and saw a bunch of other girls I didn’t know there. Well obviously I didn’t know them, I JUST moved there earlier that day.
Jenny introduced me to each one of them individually; their names were Kristin, Adri, Lex, Ashley, Veronica---who goes by Vero most of the time, Anna, and Alvana. I said hi to all of them and introduced myself then sat down on the couch in her living room. They started talking about the Jonas brothers, but not in a band sense, a RELATIONSHIP sense. It was kind of awkward for me.
Apparently, and this is what I picked up on, Jenny was Joe’s girlfriend, Adri was Kevin’s girlfriend, and the rest of them liked nick, who was single.
Alright I felt kind of caught up, but still…were they my friends? Or was this just to complicated for my first real friendships and relationships?

What’s up with Joe?

---Nick’s POV---
“so why didn’t you go to Jenny’s house with everyone else? Joe told me about her little party thing…” I said to Casey who was sitting on the couch of my living room. She shrugged, “I didn’t feel like it”
I laughed, “and yet you felt like coming here?” I asked her, jokingly. She shrugged again.
Just then, Joe walked downstairs, “Hey Nick, oh---hey Casey” he said, noticing her sitting there. He got himself a soda and sat down in the chair by me and Casey.
“So why didn’t you want to go over to Casey’s exactly?” he asked, before she said anything he continued “the new neighbor, Katie, is over there meeting everyone…she’s really nice” he grinned.
I rolled my eyes, “I know, Joe. You’ve only told me that like a million times, today. What are you obsessed with this person?” I asked, jokingly “because you have a girlfriend”
He just laughed, awkwardly and went back upstairs. “Okay…that was weird” Casey said, hesitantly.
I shrugged, “Joe’s a weird person” She laughed.

---Jenny’s POV---
“So who is your favorite Jonas?” I asked Katie “because based on your mom, you’re obviously a fan” I said, jokingly. She laughed, a little. “Well…I’d rather not say”
Everyone else tried to get her to talk too, but she wouldn’t. This made me curious. It was probably Joe based on the way she acted when she came to the front door and saw me and Joe together, and when she found out I was Joe’s girlfriend. “Joe right?” I asked, grinning at her.
She bit her lip and hesitated, and then spoke “maybe” she said, smirking a little bit. I laughed and shrugged. “That’s fine, I know I have to share him with a lot of fans, and I’m good with that” she laughed, too…And we changed the subject before it got even more awkward.
Kristin continued to ramble on…and on…and on about Nick. I swear no one on this planet loves him more than she does, and it kind of shows, well it DEFINATLY shows because she is flirting with him almost 24/7.
“Kristin!” Ashley yelled, she laughed “we get it, you love nick…sheesh…” we all laughed and Katie stood up.
“Well I probably should get going, I don’t want to over-stay my welcome, and my mom will need more help un-packing everything. So maybe ill see you guys around or something” she said, smiling at us. She seemed nice, sure why not, we all thought.
“Yeah defiantly” Anna said, and Katie left, with a smile on her face.

---Joe’s POV---
I was following my parent’s orders and taking the trash out when I saw Katie leaving Jenny’s house and walking back to hers. I realized I had never really welcomed her personally, just her mom, and set the trash in the trashcan. I went over to her before she could go inside her house. “Hey” I said, grinning down at her, because she was a little bit shorter than I was. She smiled, “Hi”
“So… did you have fun at Jenny’s?” I asked, making casual conversation.
She nodded, and so did i. “That’s good” I said “Well I never officially said this to you but, welcome to the neighborhood, and good luck, it gets pretty crazy”
She laughed, “Yeah I caught onto that, thanks” she said, jokingly. I laughed, too.
We sat down on the steps leading up to her porch and I decided to ask her something. “So... Where are you from?” I asked her, looking at her.
She laughed, “The better question would be where ARENT I from. Way faster to answer” she grinned.
I looked confused, because well---I was. “Huh?” I asked.
She laughed at my expression and told me about how she was always traveling, and told me how she was staying here until graduation and everything her parents had promised her.
I nodded, understanding completely how it felt to be on the move all the time, from tours and such.
She heard her mom call her into the house, “Well I better get going…my mom probably needs more help un-packing things” she stood up, and so did I.
“Um…I’m not doing anything, if you want some help or something” I suggested, willingly.
She grinned, “Yeah that’d be great thanks”
We walked into her house.

---Katie’s POV---
We un-packed a few boxes in the family room and in the kitchen, boring right? Well it would have been but Joe kept me entertained. He’s even more hilarious in person than he is just in videos and such.
We finished with that and it was about nine o’clock. We stepped outside, because he needed to go home now.
“So…” I said, “Thanks for helping. We have tons to unpack, so any sort of assistance is nice” I said, grinning. He smiled back at me, “no problem” just then he looked both ways, probably checking for Jenny, I assumed. Then, he kissed me lightly on the lips. I was in utter shock “w-what was that for?” I asked, not particularly angry about it, just surprised. He grinned, “For being my friend. And not trying to break up me and Jenny even though... well… never mind, goodnight” he grinned “goodnight” I said, and we went into our separate houses. I was very confused, wait. Why did he kiss me?

---Kristin’s POV---
We all left Jenny’s house at about nine-thirty, and I started to walk home. I saw Nick and Casey outside and went over to them, “Hey Casey. How come you didn’t come over to Jenny’s house tonight?” I asked, smiling at nick, and then looking back at Casey. She just shrugged and said that she didn’t feel like it.
But I knew better than to believe that, she knew that we would all be at Jenny’s and that this was her chance to be all alone with Nick for a whole night. I was a little surprised and jealous that she had thought of this when I hadn’t, but impressed because she was being very sneaky and clever.
Nick said goodnight to both of us, and went inside. Casey smirked at me, obviously picking up on the fact that I had caught onto her evil, yet brilliant, plan. “Oh shut up” I said, in response to her expression.
She just laughed, “Didn’t say anything” we went to our separate houses without saying another word. Don’t get me wrong. She’s like my best friend, and I love Casey, but she’s my nick rival right now. =P

---Jenny’s POV---
I went over to the Jonas household to see what Joe was up too. Kevin opened the door and let me in, and I went into the backyard where Joe was sitting in the grass, “hey” I said walking up behind him. “Oh, hey” he said, not looking thrilled. We talked for like fifteen minutes but the whole time he was kind of---distant.
At first I just dismissed the matter in my brain but then it became more and more obvious and I couldn’t ignore it any longer. “What’s up, Joe?” I asked him.
He shrugged, “talking to you” he said confused. I rolled my eyes; jokingly “I meant what’s on your mind. You seem like your mind is somewhere else” I said, hesitantly.
He looked at me. “What? Oh sorry I just…have a lot of my plate right now” he nodded.
“Oh…” I said “well do you want to talk about it or something?” I asked.
He shook his head, “no…thanks, I think I just should go sleep”
I nodded, “okay goodnight” I said “goodnight” he said, going inside without even kissing me.
I walked home, still extremely confused on what had just happened.

The next day…

---Joe’s POV---
I woke up and stayed lying in my bed, not wanting to go face the world. I couldn’t quite figure out what had made me kiss Katie…but I didn’t regret it. Oh god, why didn’t I regret it even the tiny-est bit!? I sighed, I was with JENNY not KATIE, I needed to get that threw my obviously think scull.
I sighed again, and got dressed, then went downstairs. Hearing Nick laughing, I assumed the girl who quote ‘was a close friend, not a girlfriend’ as nick said, was there. And I was right. They were flirting…again. I just wanted nick to ask her out already! It was so obvious he liked her and she liked him

---Nick’s POV---
I saw Joe come downstairs, “hey Joe” I said “you slept later than usual” He just nodded,
“Hey nick” he said, he then looked at her, “hey Miley” She smiled, “hi Joe”
Joe nodded at us again, and poured himself some corn-pops “So what happened with you
and Jenny last night?” I asked, trying to make sure Joe didn’t embarrass me in front of
her, like usual.
He shrugged, “nothing really. I was just tried so I went to bed” he said, casually, but I
knew that wasn’t the whole story. I decided I would talk to him about it later, when no one
else was around.
“Hey. Looks like Katie is outside” I said, noticing her out of the window.
Miley grinned and followed to the window, looking at her with me, “whose Katie?” she
asked, interested.
“Oh.” I said “the new neighbors that moved in yesterday, she’s Joe’s age” I turned into a
whisper into her ears “I think Joe likes her” I said. She laughed and so did I. Joe
obviously over-heard because he rolled his eyes, and said he didn’t. Then went outside to
where Katie was.
Miley laughed, “Nah I don’t think he does” she said. I shook me head “me either, its just
fun messing with him” we both laughed.

---Katie’s POV---
I sat in the grass, reading a magazine. I was enjoying the weather here, much better than
our last house.
I saw Joe come out and felt my heart skip a beat, then looked down at my magazine as if
I hadn’t noticed him coming outside and over to me. He grinned at me and sat down in
the grass next to me. I looked up and pretended to be seeing him for the first time just
now, I set down the magazine. “Hi” I said to him, smiling. He grinned---again, “hey” he
said, “look about last night” he started.
I jumped to a conclusion on what he was going to say “it was just in the moment, I get it”
I said, fast. I looked down, awkwardly. He shook his head,”No that’s not what I was going
to say” he said.
I looked up now and looked at him, “what?” I asked, confused. I had been
99.999999999% sure that’s where he had been going with this entire conversation…
“I just wanted to say that. You seem really nice, and I don’t really know you that well. So
yeah, I guess we were kind of in the moment, but you’re going to find someone. Don’t
worry about it” he said.
I grinned, “Thank you” That was just about the nicest rejection I had ever gotten in my
life.
He left to go find Jenny, and I went back to reading my magazine.

---Casey’s POV---
I saw Joe walking and caught up with him, “hey Joe” I said, walking next to him now.
He looked at me and stopped walking, “hey Casey” he paused, “have you seen Jenny yet
today? I have to talk to her about last night I was kind of…confused, and not really the
greatest boyfriend” he laughed, awkwardly. I nodded, “yeah, she’s at her house. I
actually just left from there”
He grinned, “Thanks” I smiled, “no problem” he walked towards Jenny’s front door and I
went into my house. The phone rang and I picked up, “hello?”
I heard Kristin’s voice on the other end of the phone. “Hello there” she said “clever last
night”
I laughed, “Chill. I don’t even like Nick anymore” I said, walking outside again and down
the street on the sidewalk.
She gasped, “You don’t? Who do you like---oh wait, I know. Its Joe isn’t it?” she asked
me, I could tell she was loving this and smirking. I grinned, “Maybe…” we both laughed.
“Well… good” Kristin said, “Now I can have nick all to myself” she said, happily. I stopped
in my tracks, “Um, by the looks of it…I wouldn’t be so sure” I said, looking in the window
of the Jonas house.
“…why…?” Kristin asked me, hesitantly. “Cause miley is there and, they look pretty happy
together”

---Jenny’s POV---
I was sitting in my backyard, in my tree house that my younger sister and her friends hang out in, when I saw Joe outside coming towards my house. I stuck my head out of the ‘window’ of the tree house and called his name. He looked up and down and all around trying to figure out where the words were coming from. I laughed and yelled so he found me. He came over to the tree house and climbed up inside of it.
He apologized about the previous night, said he, quote, “had a lot on his mind”. I guess it happens all the time, so I forgave him and we talked for a while, this was the spot he had first asked me out.
You see, we had been best friends for a long time, well we ALL had, and apparently he liked me for a long time, and I liked him, but neither one of us knew about the other person. Thanks to nick, Joe found out I liked him and ---well---it all fell into place from there.

---Nick’s POV---
Miley left and I went outside. I sat down on my front porch and started reading about the ridiculous rumors going around, well---at least I made it look like I was reading. Really, I was just thinking.
Joe had made it a point the other night to try and convince me to ask out miley. I ---I just don’t know. I mean she’s a really good friend of mine, but I’m really not sure if I want that kind of relationship with her or, well anyone, right now. I thought this as I flipped the page over and started reading another ridiculous article about me and my brothers.
Just then I saw a brunette walk outside from the house next-door. I had never seen her before---I figured it was probably the person my brother had been talking about. The new girl who’s family had just moved in next door yesterday. Oh god what was her name!? For the life of me I couldn’t remember.
I set down the magazine I was reading, or pretending to read, and walked off my front porch. I walked over to her lawn and grinned at her, “Hey. I’m Nick” I said, introducing myself.
She smiled sweetly back at me, “Hi nick. Um, I’m Katie” as soon as she said this I remembered Joe saying that was her name. I grinned, “So…welcome to the neighborhood, I think you already met Joe…?” I said/asked, even though I knew that she did. She nodded, “Yep. And thanks” she picked up the recycle bin she had been obviously coming out to get. I noticed another one, identical to the one she was carrying, sitting next to the one she had picked up. I went and grabbed it, “here let me help you” I said, picking it up. She smiled, “thank you” she said as we walked them into her garage.
I set it down where she said it was supposed to go and smiled at her, “So. do you like it here so far?” I asked making casual conversation. She shrugged, “well I just came, but so far? Yeah” she nodded.
I nodded, too. “That’s good. Well if you ever need anything were --- right next door” I grinned.
She smiled, “okay thanks” she said. Before I could respond my mom called me into my house so we said goodbye and went into our separate houses.

---Kristin’s POV---
I rolled my eyes and looked at Ashley who was doing the same, “not cool” I said, shaking my head.
She nodded, “yeah she knew we liked him…” she shook her head at the same time I did.
Casey had been standing there and chose now to chime in, “well you know guys…she isn’t like best friends with you guys, so she isn’t really violating any friendship/relationship rules…so she has the right” she said, hesitantly. I glared at her, “I hate it when you’re right” I said, gritting through my teeth. Ashley looked at Casey, “and it’s easy for you to say…you like a different brother”
Casey shushed us, “you guys, shut up…” she said. We both laughed at her shocked and worried expression, obviously afraid that Joe was going to somehow over hear our conversation.
We all went back to Casey’s house, which was right next to Katie’s house. She was outside on her front porch and saw us, but obviously didn’t want to intrude, so she pretended she didn’t see us and continued reading her book. I decided to be nice--- it’s just a quality I have--- and waved for her to come over. She said something to her mom, and then came over to us. I put on a fake smile and so did Ashley, though I think Casey was genuinely happy to see her.
We went into Casey’s house and started talking, Ashley and I casually brought up the Jonas brothers subject to ask if she had met any of them, so we could talk to her about the nick thing. She acted casual but I could see in her eyes that she liked him. I mean, who doesn’t? But still, I can’t have her hurting my chances with him. I’ve known him way longer; I deserve it way more than she does…

---Casey’s POV---
I felt kind of bad for Katie, I mean…we don’t even really know her and Kristin and Ashley are kind of judging her, we JUST met her---and I think we oh it to her to at least give her a chance.
I know I’m going too; she seems like a genuinely nice person and who knows? Maybe she could become one of our best friends. If not, no harm done. But hey, it’s worth a shot.
I mean, maybe she can help me with my Joe problem? I don’t know, its crazy…but maybe just crazy enough to work…

It happened on a {NOT so} beautiful summer night…

---Kevin’s POV---
It was really late, it was still warm out but there was a chill in the air just from our rude remarks to each other. “No! I can’t believe you!” I yelled, walking in the opposite direction down the street.
Adri side and followed me, “Kevin…I didn’t mean it in that way!”
I spun around to look at her, “when you agreed to be my girlfriend you knew that we would have to leave for tours, you knew that you had to support me anyway, and you never have! You always whine when I have to leave, and freak out when fans hug me, all that stuff! And I’m sick of it! And on TOP of all that, as if it could get worse, we get a gig somewhere and you seriously are upset about it!”
I noticed her rolling her eyes slightly so I just walked away when she wasn’t paying attention, leaving her just standing there clueless. I felt kind of bad about it, but it wasn’t my fault---it was hers.

The next day…

---Katie’s POV---
I went outside to get the mail. I was flipping through it and saw a letter from my aunt to me. You see, my birthday was in a few weeks, and she lived far away, so they always sent it early just to make sure it came in time. I examined the letter only to hear someone saying my name. I looked up, and saw nick coming over to me. I grinned at him and he returned a smile. “You got your hair cut?” he asked. It WAS obvious ill admit, but I was surprised he noticed. I stopped looking at the letter and nodded, “Yep. The long brown hair wasn’t exactly working with this weather.” My hair had been all the way down to my butt, but I not had it in a comfortable shoulder length cut and had highlights. He nodded, not having anything to say in return because we were talking about…hair…which was odd but hey, whatever works right? I was just happy we were in a conversation. There was a kind of awkward silence for a few moments, then finally one of us spoke, “So…” he said “what are your big plans this summer?”
You see, school had just gotten out about two weeks ago, so we were just at the very beginning of the wonderful summer vacation. I shrugged, “nothing really. My birthday in a few weeks but after that, pretty much nothing. Just kind of getting settled in the new house and stuff” I nodded, and so did he. “What about you?” I asked, figuring he had something glamorous laid out for his ‘break’.
He shook his head, shrugging “As of right now, just little shows here and there. No tours or anything since we just finished the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana/ Jonas Brothers tour…so I think just small meet and greets and shows and stuff…nothing fantastic or out of the usual” he said calmly, shrugging again.
“Sounds fun” I said, honestly. Sounded fun to me! He nodded, too. “Yep…so um, I was wondering” he started. I looked at him, waiting for him to finish whatever he was trying to say or ask. “Umm…I --- uhh, never mind. Ill talk to you later” he said rushing into his house. I was confused, and just took the mail inside my house.

---Casey’s POV---
I picked up my cell phone and dialed Katie’s number. I waited and heard her ring-back tone…which was Goodnight & Goodbye by the Jonas Brothers. I was rocking out when I heard her voice, for she had obviously finally answered the phone. “Hello?” I heard her say. “Hey it’s Casey” I said, I then continued “you like nick don’t you?” I said, getting straight to the point.
She hesitated then pretended she didn’t know what I was talking about “huh?” she said/asked. I rolled my eyes and sighed, “Katie I know you do so just cut the act. Well I like Joe so I think we can help each other…” I said. She hesitated, again. “Uhm…okay? What do you have in mind?” she asked, still not full out admitting she liked Nick in case it was all just a trick, which was a smart move. “Well, I’m not positive yet…but I think if you can help me get Joe single, I can help hold Kristin and Ashley back, away from nick…” I suggested. She paused, and I heard her breathing but nothing else, “Deal” she said. I grinned “Perfect” and with that, we hung up and I headed over to her house to discuss the plan more in detail.

Let’s Work Together

---Nick’s POV---
“I don’t know, I just froze. It’s never happened to me before I just---couldn’t do it. I don’t even know why, but all of a sudden my heart started beating fast and I couldn’t do it. So I left” I explained talking to my brothers in the family room while the television was on commercials. Kevin laughed, I shot him a mad look so he stopped laughing and shut up. “Well what exactly DID you say?” Joe asked me.
I shrugged, “I was just talking to her, then when I was about to I started mumbling and babbling along and then said I had to go and ran in here.” I said. “Oh...” he and Kevin both said, with disappointed faces.
“What?” I asked, confused, looking back and forth from them.
“Ehh...” Kevin said, hesitantly, then looking at Joe. “You don’t ‘run away’ that kind of ruins it all…” Joe finished for him. My eyes widened, “well I didn’t ---I mean, she…oh god” I said, sitting down on the couch.
“It’s okay” Kevin said “you can recover from this just, next time your talking to her don’t seem so anxious, just act calm, and don’t ask her out this time. Just play it cool, hard to get” Kevin said, nodding. Joe agreed. I took their advice and went outside, hoping she’d be out there but no such luck.

---Casey’s POV---
“So wait---what’s the plan?” Katie asked me, for the millionth time.
I rolled my eyes, frustrated, but kind of joking around with her “there is no plan, just a goal”
“Then…what’s the goal?” she asked, trying to be clear on what we were shooting for.
“Mine? Joe. Yours? Nick. And both of ours? Helping the other one in any way possible” I nodded and so did she, finally understanding that there was no specific plan, just a plan in the general sense.
We discussed this and I looked out the window, “Nicks outside. Ill leave, you go talk to him. See if you can find out anything about Jenny and Joe, don’t bring it up, but if it comes up, be sure to tell me” I said, nodding. She nodded, too and I left. She walked outside with me, said goodbye, and I left, walking home.
I turned around to see Katie going over to Nick. My goals and plans were soon to come true, from how things were appearing.

---Katie’s POV---
“Hey Nick” I said, grinning, walking towards him. He looked up, “Hi” he said in a slightly high pitched tone, he then coughed “I mean uh” he coughed again “heyyy” he said in a calm yet cool – or trying to be cool- voice. He then grinned at me. I looked kind of confused. “Um…okay, hi” I said, sitting down on the steps that lead to the porch on the front of their house. He sat down next to me, “So, you and Casey got big plans?” he asked. Alright, well at least he wasn’t acting all weird anymore. I shrugged, “not really”
He nodded, “So um…” he coughed again. “How are yah, babe?” he asked me. I looked at him confused, “huh?” I asked. He quickly thought, but didn’t come up with anything. “I’m out of here. Ill---talk to you later…I guess” I said getting up and walking into my house, looking back at him, then shaking her head and going into her house.

---Nick’s POV---
I sighed, and stood up. I went inside and into the kitchen. Kevin and Joe looked at me, “So---how’d it go?” Kevin asked, genuinely interested in my welfare. I just chuckled, annoyed with them, “you guys suck” I opened the fridge and got out a soda and closed the fridge again. Joe looked confused, “huh?”
I told them what happened, “You must have done it wrong because it works for us every time” Kevin said laughing, remembering how well he and Joe had done before they were even famous. I rolled my eyes at them and sat down on the couch. “So let me get this straight, it actually made it worse? She was upset with it?” Joe asked me, I shrugged. “I wouldn’t say upset, just confused and annoyed I think” I said, taking a sip of it and setting it down on the table. Joe and Kevin sat down, pondering and considering this odd situation. I just went up to my room, realizing I should never take girl advice from, them.

The next day---

---Joe’s POV---
I walked with Jenny down the street when we ran into Casey. “Hey Case” I said, grinning. She returned the smile and also smiled at Jenny. “You want to walk with us?” I asked her, she quickly shook her head and walked past us. I turned and watched her leave, confused. But then went back to my conversation with Jenny. I couldn’t quite seem to get that out of my head, she was trying very hard not to be with me when I was with Jenny but…why?

---Adri’s POV---
I knocked on the front door of the Jonas’ house. I saw Kevin inside, and he saw me, but didn’t answer.
I mean I knew we weren’t dating but I thought id atleast come and get my stuff back. Okay you want the truth? I wanted to make him want me back. I wanted to come and get the stuff I had left there, figuring the memories would make him forgive me and take me back.
But when I saw Casey come in, I knew that wouldn’t happen. She was too good of friends with him to let him go down the road he had just exited from…

---Katie’s POV---
I went outside to look at the sky’s full stars. Most people were sleeping so not many lights were on, and you could see it perfectly from the park. I had my mom permission so I started walking down the sidewalk, toward the park which was just down the street. I felt someone grabbing my arm, trying to catch up to me. I spun around, since it was dark it kind of freaked me out, but luckily I just saw Nick standing there. I put my hand to my heart which had been beating quickly. “Oh god nick you scared me” I said. He laughed; “I’m sorry” I just shrugged. He got straight to the point, “look---I’m sorry about earlier, brothers bad advice I guess” he laughed and so did I, actually understanding now. I nodded, “okay. I understand” we both laughed again. I started walking toward the park again, and he walked next to me, his hands in his pockets, “So—where are you going exactly?” he asked, curious considering what time it was. “Oh, I was going to the park to look at well that” I said looking up. He looked up also, and nodded. We got to the park and I sat down on the merry-go-round, he sat down next to me. We both looked up at the stars, neither one of us spoke, we both just sat there. It was a kind of romantic situation, and yet it was awkward at the same time. I had one hand on the merry-go-round, supporting myself.
I felt his hand resting on mine, so I looked at him. At the same moment he looked at me. We were close, so I could feel his warm breath through the chilly breeze. My heart started beating fast, and I didn’t know what to do. I just sat there, waiting for him to do---or not do---something. Just then, he leaned in and …he kissed me. I hadn’t really seen it coming, because I was too in the moment, and neither one of us separated or pulled away. I began to smile, as did he, as he kissed me. When we DID separate he grinned at me then looked back up at the stars. So I did the same.

---Kevin’s POV---
“Come on, he doesn’t want you here---just leave” Casey said, in my defense- to Adri. Adri just rolled her eyes and left. “Thank you” I said, to Casey. I sat down on the couch and sighed. This Adri/Me drama was getting so irritating and annoying. I just wish it’d vanish completely and I could get on with my life.
Casey left, after telling me how much she liked Joe, over and over. It was kind of funny actually---how much she cared for him and yet she tried to keep it a secret from him for so long.

The next day---

---Joe’s POV---
I went downstairs to see Nick was up already, “where’d you go last night?” I asked him, pouring myself some corn-pops for breakfast. He rolled his eyes, “I went to fix the damage YOU created for me” he said.
I nodded, understanding “and did you fix it?” I asked him, and he nodded, “Yep. Went pretty well if I do say so myself” he said, smirking. He sat down on the couch. I rose an eyebrow, “did you ask her out yet?” I asked, curiously. He shook his head, “Nope. But I kissed her” he grinned, proudly.
I laughed and rolled my eyes, jokingly “Yay you” I took my cereal into the other room where Kevin was.
“Hey Kevin. So I heard Adri stopped by last night…” I said, sitting down next to him. He muted the television he had been walking and looked at me “unfortunately, yes. Luckily Casey was here to back me up so I didn’t have to deal with her alone” he explained.
I nodded, “Yep. Casey’s good in those situations” I said, jokingly. He didn’t laugh, so I left and went back to where Nick was, since I was bored and Kevin wasn’t enjoying my humor this morning.

---Katie’s POV---
“Then GO! Go outside he OBVIOUSLY likes you if he kissed you.” Casey said, leaving after I had caught her up on what had happened. I laughed, and she left. I sat down on the swing on the tree in my backyard.
I saw through the window, Joe saying something to Nick, who jumped up and ran to the door. He started to walk as soon as he got outside. I giggled, figuring out what Joe had told him.
Nick came over to me, “Hey. I have to ask you something…” he started.
I looked at him, “what is it?”

---Casey’s POV---
I walked down the street, and then heard someone calling my name. I turned around and saw Joe running to catch up with me. I stopped so he could, and he started just regular walking once he was next to me. I started walking again, as well. “So---where were you headed?” he asked me.
I shrugged, “no where in particular, just kind of going for a walk. And look I’m sorry about the other night when you and jenny were walking—and I didn’t want to walk with you—I have a lot on my mind right now so … yeah” I laughed a little and he nodded, understanding. “Yeah I know what’cha mean” he said, agreeing with me. And then he looked both ways—for jenny—and kissed my cheek. He then grinned and walked back into his house. I tried not to scream and just walked into my house, casually.

---Nick’s POV---
My heart started racing as I opened my mouth again, to do what I was afraid of most in the world right now. But, I had to do it now, we kissed, so she obviously likes me back, I should just go for it. But I couldn’t—I just stood there with my mouth hanging open for a second—I realized what was happening and finally spoke , “Do you …want to go out—sometime, maybe…?” I asked her, hesitantly, then looking down in nervousness and embarrassment. She laughed and lifted my chin so I would look at her. She was smiling and nodded at me, “of course” she said. My face, and heart, lit up.
“Cool” I said “So um, dinner later then? Like five-ish?” I asked, hopingly. She nodded again, “yeah sure—sounds good” she said, grinning at me. I grinned back at her and cleared my throat; “Cool” I said once more, I then walked into my house, trying to be cool. I heard her giggle then she went into her house. I watched her leave then started dancing in my backyard, in excitement. I turned and looked at her, she was also dancing and she looked at me at the same moment. We both stopped dancing, laughed embarrassed and it was just awkward so it was a random laughing moment, and we both walked into our separate houses.

---Lex’s POV---
I was just walking when I saw Joe kiss Casey’s cheek. Since no one ever told me ANYTHING, I wondered if he and Jenny had broken up, but Kristin hadn’t mentioned that when she was at my house earlier---and I think she would have if they had. So I figured that they were still together. With all this wondering, I almost forgot the problem. The problem was: Casey and Joe kissed, even if it wasn’t on the lips, and even if it was JOE kissing CASEY not the other way around, she didn’t complain or pull away or seem angry. This was bad. What was going on between them? Had they kissed before? I ran to Kristin’s house and knocked on the door. When she opened the door I saw that Ashley and Anna were there. “Oh hey guys” I said “Kristin---has Casey been acting…weird lately?” I asked her. She looked confused and thought for a second then shook her head, “no…not really, why?” she asked, curiously.
“Um…” I said, I wanted to tell Kristin, but Anna and Ashley were right there and I probably shouldn’t go spreading it to everyone. “Ill tell you later” I said, walking away.

---Katie’s POV---
It was only four so I didn’t want to start getting ready yet, I called up Casey. I told her about my date so she was going to come over and kind of be my mirror, and tell me if I look okay or vise versa. She came over and we went up to my room, I started holding up outfits for her to look at but I felt as if she wasn’t there. She was babbling along as she looked at the clothes I had which led me to believe her mind was in another place entirely. I looked at her, “hey” I said trying to snap her out of it, and it worked. “What’s going on with you? Did something happen?” I asked.
She sighed and stood up, coming over to me. She went into a whisper as if we were in a room full of people and she didn’t want anyone except me to hear what she was saying, “he kissed my cheek” she said quickly with a grin on her face. I looked at her, “who did?”
She gave me a look. “JOE!?” I asked, surprised. She shushed me and nodded.

I was in shock, I knew I was trying to get Jasey together….but I didn’t know we were going to do it while he was still with jenny…

I was fine ‘til {5 o’clock}

---Nick’s POV---
It was 4:30, and I was nervous…more than I thought I was going to be. My heard was racing, as my mind went through many different thoughts and ideas of what might or might not happen later.
I went downstairs and found Joe “do I look okay?” I asked him; tying the shoes I had on under my skinny jeans. He looked at me, looking at my outfit and how I looked, and nodded, “Yep” he said, standing up. He went over to the door and opened the door after there was a knock on it, Casey stood there, and she saw me and looked me up and down, top to bottom. “Got it!” she said, to herself, now running back over to Katie’s house, where Katie let her inside.
Joe and I both exchanged a look with each other that kind of said ‘that was odd’.

---Casey’s POV---
I walked inside, and me and Katie went back to her room, “Wear this one” I said, handing her one of the outfits we had been looking at and considering. She nodded, took it from my hand, and went into the bathroom to change. I had gone into the Jonas’ house to see what kind of thing nick was wearing so I could figure out what Katie should wear. She came back a few minutes later and re-flattened her hair… she was kind of freaking out. “KATIE!” I yelled to shut her up. It worked, she stopped babbling on and gave me her attention, “It’ll be fine, don’t worry I about it” I said, laughing a little.
It was nearly 5 o’clock so I left and went over to the Jonas’ house again, to be with Joe. He opened the door and I saw nick staring at the clock, waiting for it to change to 5:01, because he didn’t want to be “on time” I rolled my eyes, jokingly, and I laughed. I then sat down next to Joe on the couch.

---Joe’s POV---
It was kind of awkward after Nick left, after me kissing her the other day and all. YES it was only a cheek kiss, but still---it was still a kiss. I nodded “So…” I said---trying to think of something to say---she did the same. I stood up and into the kitchen, “you hungry?” I asked. She shook her head and I shrugged, grabbing myself a banana since she didn’t want anything. I sat back down, and neither one of us spoke. Just then Lex and Kristin burst in, “what is wrong with you two!?” they yelled in unison. I looked at Casey, eyes wide, and then looked back at Kristin and Lex.

---Katie’s POV---
I was sitting down watching television, when I heard the doorbell ring. I didn’t want to seem to anxious so I asked my mom to answer the door. I was around the corner, listening.
My mom opened the door, “Um—hi, I’m Nick” Nick said to her, “Is Katie here?” he asked, patiently.
My mom smiled at him, “yes one moment KATIE!” she yelled. EMBARESSING, I’m starting to think her answering the door wasn’t the best plan anymore. I walked around the corner and to the door, and grinned at Nick “Hi” I said. “Hey” he said back to me. We both looked at my mom.
“Oh! Right!” she said, realizing she should leave. She walked away from the door. We both laughed a little and stepped out of the house.
“So…” I said, walking with him. He walked next to me. I didn’t know where we were going, but he obviously did because he was leading me to a certain place, with a certain direction. “Well, we’re almost there” he said, I looked at him, “Close your eyes” he said, grinning. I trusted him, so I smiled and gently closed my eyes. I felt his hand taking mine, and we started to walk again. We were only walking for a minute or two, but the time his hand was holding mine was the best moment of my life. Soon he stopped walking, so I did too. I felt the cool breeze of the ocean but heard loud noises and voices. I was kind of starting to get confused just as he told me to open my eyes, he let go of my hand. I slowly opened my eyes and began to smile. I looked at him, he looked hesitant. We were at the carnival at the beach. I grinned as he put on a hat and sunglasses so he wouldn’t be mobbed by fans. He took my hand again and we walked over to the Ferris wheel; getting into the line for it. “So…” I said, not sure exactly what to say. He just smiled at me then spoke, “we have a concert tomorrow night…you should come” He suggested. I grinned, was he inviting me? “Do you want to/” he asked because I had merely smiled, I had not spoken yet. I nodded, “yeah defiantly” I said as we got to the front of the line to get onto the ride.

---Casey’s POV [again]---
“What are you talking about?” I asked them; desperately hoping they hadn’t seen what happened with me and Joe the other day. Kristin tapped her foot, “We know. Give it up, Casey” she said, demandingly. Lex just nodded at Kristin, then looked at me and Joe, accusingly. Joe hesitated, “Uh…ehh---we um…yeah” he said, now sitting next to me on the couch, and looking down. Lex began to yell, “What about Jenny, huh?! Shouldn’t you worry!? We could go tell her, but we decided to come her and get your side of the story first!” she said/yelled. Kristin joined in with her, teaming up on us. They continued to yell to the point where I couldn’t tell which one of them was saying what. Joe yelled to shut them up, “HEY!” he yelled. We all stopped yelling and looked at him, “She broke up with me ok?!” he said, blankly. Lex stopped talking to Kristin about what to do and looked at Joe, “What?” she asked. He just nodded, still looking down. “Yeah, yesterday when I was at her house BEFORE I kissed Casey” he finished explaining. I felt kind of bad for him. Kristin looked like she did, too. “W-why?” she asked. He stayed looking down, “I…I don’t know”

The REAL story

---Joe’s POV---

“What do you mean you don’t know?” Casey asked me, obviously confused. Quite frankly so was I. “I just---I don’t know. That’s just it” I stated, blankly. Now all three of them looked super confused. “Well, she had you of said the reasoning…” Kristin pointed out, logically. I shook my head, “she just said that it was over, not the reasons why it was over…” I responded. Kristin looked even more confused now then before, and her and Lex walked out, probably to talk to Jenny or figure this out. They closed the door behind them. Casey looked at me “I’m sorry” she said. I just nodded, and then she leaned in and kissed me.

---Nick’s POV---
We got to the front of the line for the Ferris wheel and got onto it. I sat down and she sat down next to me. They put a few more people on different Ferris wheel boxy-thingies… anyway, and it began to start moving around. I put my arm around her, I don’t know why I did that, but I just felt that it was appropriate for the situation. She looked at me and grinned, and I smiled at her. She rested her head on my shoulder and I smiled even bigger. The Ferris wheel kept moving until we were at the top, then stopped to let more people onto the ride in the empty boxes, or whatever they’re called. The sun was setting so we both looked over the edge at the sky. She sighed and I looked at her, “What?” she laughed, “I love it here” she said, semi-jokingly. I laughed and we looked at the sky again. Just then she looked at me and I looked at her, into her eyes. They were the prefect mix shade of blue and green; I smiled, leaned in, and kissed her. We felt the ride starting to move again so we both pulled away and sat down again. I laughed a little, awkwardly, and looked at her again, she kissed me.

---Kristin’s POV---
Lex and I were pacing my room, thinking this over. “It makes no sense though! I mean why wouldn’t she even TELL us?!” lex asked, both of us extremely confused. I just shrugged, not knowing the answer to that, and we left, heading for Jenny’s house.
We rang the doorbell over and over and OVER again until finally her younger sister opened the door, “Its jenny home?” I asked, quickly. She just nodded, “JENNY!” she yelled up the stairs. Jenny came down and we stepped out onto the front porch, “hey guys what’s up?” she asked, looking surprisingly cheerful. Me and Lex looked at each other then crossed our arms and looked back at Jenny.
“What?” she looked confused, but we both knew that she knew EXACTLY what was going on. “Why did you break up with Joe?” Lex asked straight forward, and straight to the point. Jenny sighed, “None of your business” she said. I tilted my head at her, “oh please jenny. I’m not buying that, now tell us” I demanded. She just sighed again, and sat down on the steps. We sat down next to her and she explained to us that she liked someone else, “WHAT?!” Lex and I said/yelled in unison, “that’s your great reason!?” I asked, loudly, still extremely surprised. Before we could ask who she had disappeared back into her house. Lex and I exchanged a glance of confusion then stood up and started walking to my house again, talking over what had happened. That’s when I remembered where Nick was right now. Lex and I began to talk it over.. “That’s so frustrating, I mean she just swoops in here and steals my” I cleared my throat, “I mean our man? Not fair...” I shook my head, and she nodded, agreeing with me.
“Well---what are we going to do about it?” I asked her, hoping she had a plan. She looked at me, “What do you mean? We can’t do anything…Katie does seem really nice. It’s not her fault he likes her and not us” she said, as we arrived at my house. I sighed and rolled my eyes at her, “I hate it when you’re right”

---Katie’s POV---
The Ferris wheel went round and round as the sky grew darker. Pretty soon, when we were getting off the Ferris wheel I noticed that the only light was coming from the fair itself, and the moonlight. I smiled to myself as I walked around the fair, holding his hand. It was WAY colder than I thought it would be, and I was really starting to regret the choice of a tank top, but oh well. It was worth it. We got in the line for the biggest roller-coaster that they had there. But, I wasn’t scared.
Id gone on MANY roller coasters in my lifetime and this one was seriously--- like nothing.

---Casey’s POV---
I didn’t know why I kissed him, I just---did. He didn’t seem to mind, though. I mean, he didn’t pull away…neither of us did until we heard someone knock on the front door. Joe opened it and it was Kristin and Lex again, but this time they had brought Ashley, Anna, Alvana, and some girl I didn’t know, with them. I sighed, wondering what they wanted now, and who the mysterious girl was. They explained it was Alvana’s cousin, Maria…who had just moved here.
“What do you want?” Joe asked them, looking like he was loosing his patience with them. “Look” Kristin started, “Case---you’re close with Katie, and Joe-your obviously close with nick, him being you’re brother and all…where did they go for their date?” she asked us, demandingly. “Why…?” I asked very, very, hesitantly---unsure if I even wanted to know. “Just where are they?” Lex repeated the question. I truly didn’t know, but I had a feeling Joe did, but he wasn’t budging. Kevin came down, at that moment, “Who Nick and Katie? They went to the fair” he said, before he could say anything else, the six girls had bolted out the door. I had a very bad feeling about this. Me and Joe both looked at Kevin accusingly. He looked confused, “What?” I rolled my eyes at how oblivious he was to the current situation.

---Nick’s POV---
She looked cold as we walked to the roller coaster. I took off my jacket and put it over her shoulders. She thanked me and we got on the ride. Once we were on it, I looked down and saw Kristin, Alvana, Anna, Ashley, Lex, and Alvana’s cousin---whom id met a few times---Maria, standing there. Why were they here!? We got off the ride and they came over to us. What were they thinking!? “Hey look” I gritted through my teeth once we were standing with them, “It’s Kristin, Alvana, Maria, Anna, Ashley, and Lex…here…with us…here, not alone” I said, trying to send them a hint to leave, which they obviously didn’t pick up on. They just smiled at us, “So what’s up…?” Kristin asked casually, as if they hadn’t just come to find us. I looked confused, “Um. Wait” I wasn’t even sure how to say anything without freaking out about the entire situation. Katie looked confused too, but not as upset about it as I was.
Katie left to go to the bathroom, and Lex accompanied her, I waited until they were out of site and ran my hands through my hair, “what are you guys doing here!?” I asked them, hoping they had an easy and QUICK answer so I could have them gone by the time she got back.
Ashley spoke up, shrugging “We just thought we’d check out the fair” she grinned, suspiciously.
I gave them all an accusing look, “Right” I said sarcastically, not buying that. “Then why don’t you guys come back tomorrow night---it will be exactly the same then but you wont be killing me” I said , emphasis on killing. Maria just smiled at me, and I smiled back at her, and then went back to glaring at all of them.

---Lex’s POV---
I pulled her around a corner on the way to the bathroom, “I’m going to tell you this fast. They’re teaming up against you” I said quickly, not regretting my decision the tiny-est bit. She looked confused, “Huh?”
I just nodded, “What I just said. They ALL want nick and are stronger together, so they teamed up to break you up, then every man for themselves!” I explained, looking back over at them, to see what was going on, and then looking back at Katie. “Break us up---its one date! Were not even together!” She insisted. I shrugged, “Even so, they’re trying to ruin all your chances” I nodded, “And they don’t know I’m telling you this, they think I’m in on it. Just so you aware.” I said, remembering how I was kind of a double spy. She looked surprised, “well thanks for tell me” she said. I nodded and we REALLY went to the bathroom then back to the others. Nick looked like he really wanted them out of there, but they weren’t moving a muscle.

---Jenny’s POV---
“Hey Kevin” I said, seeing him outside his house when I was on my walk. He looked up from what he was doing and looked at me, “hi Jenny” he said, setting down the book he had been reading and coming over to me. “So what’s up?” I asked him, “talked to Adri lately?”
He shook his head, “Nah. We’re kind of avoiding each other at the moment…”
I nodded, understanding what he meant. I was kind of doing the same with Joe right now.
“So what about other things---like in your life, anything else you need to talk about? I’m pretty good with advice, and also very. Very bored” I said laughing a little. He laughed, too. “Umm… he said thinking, kind of---nothing really, nevermind”. I stopped walking, “What? Come on Kevin- you can tell me anything” I insisted. He sighed, “Well, okay I guess. There’s just someone I like---and your friends with her so I’m not going to tell you who--- and I don’t think she even knows I exist” He said, and then sighed. I laughed, “Oh come on. EVERYONE knows who you are…” he shook his head. “Everyone knows who my brothers are, not me…” he said solemnly.

The worlds being turned upside down…

---Nick’s POV---
I noticed Kristin eyeing Lex suspiciously, this was EXTREMELY awkward. I just nodded, “So…” I said, not sure what to say since I OBVIOUSLLY couldn’t get them to leave, “We’re going to go” I said, thinking of a good idea, “Talk to you guys later” I said, grabbing Katie’s hand and walking out of the fair then quickly around the corner, “What are we doing?” she asked as I ran, pulling her by her hand. “Shh…” I said, as we went behind a bush, “wait for them to leave…” I said, watching them walk out of the fair, towards Kristin’s house. She laughed, “Well played” she said, jokingly.
I just smirked and nodded, “Thank you, thank you very much” I looked to make sure they were gone, and then we went back to the beach, but not where the carnival was. I held her hand as we walked down the beach, just talking. This was my favorite part of the whole night, I was just happy that I could just---talk to her. I didn’t feel any pressure, and she actually listened to me. I know that sounds like something simple and it was, but it doesn’t happen too often for me that someone can just treat me as a person, not a famous person. And I felt good and happy in that moment.
“So” she said “Lex was nice enough to inform me that they were here because they want you for themselves, and want to ruin---well this” she said, looking at me. I nodded, “Figures. Sounds like something they’d do.” I rolled my eyes, “whatever. We know about it---so we just cant let it get to us, I mean as long as we don’t take it to seriously, what they’re doing, then it cant risk---well this” I said, referring to it in the same way she had. She just nodded and smiled. Just then camera’s popped out of the bushes on the edge of the beach, flashing pictures of us holding hands, “oh god. Paparazzi” I said, thinking fast. “Come on” I bolted in the other direction, pulling her a bit on her hand, as she began to run too, both of us looking behind us every few seconds, as the paparazzi grew farther and farther behind.
“How did they know we were here?” I asked, panting from the run.
Just then I noticed Ashley talking to one of the paparazzi people and pointing to me, “they didn’t…” I mumbled, as we began to run again. We ran into my house and I closed the door behind us, now both of us panting. I took of the hat and sunglasses I had on to hide my identity, which obviously didn’t work.
I noticed Casey and Joe both looking at us from the couch, “what happened?” they asked.
“Kristin…and” Katie breathed in deep between every word “others…paparazzi…running” she sat down in a chair and I sat down in the chair next to it. Joe just nodded, but Casey rolled her eyes, “Ugh. I told them not to do it!” she seemed frustrated as she stood up and grabbed Katie’s hand, to leave.
Katie let go of her, “wait…” she pointed to me with her eyes, as if I couldn’t see her and Joe smirked at her then looked at me, then back at her. I grinned and stood up. Casey backed away from her and back over to Joe. I walked in front of her and put one hand in her hair, as I kissed her. She smiled and kissed me back then both of us separated. “Ill talk to you tomorrow?” I asked, hopefully.
She smiled and nodded, and we said goodnight. Then her and Casey left to Katie’s house.

---Kevin’s POV---
I sighed as I was about to tell her something no one on this planet knew. Not Nick, not Joe. Well---EISPECCIALLY not Joe---and I was afraid on what she would think of me after it. But before I told her she responded to my previous comment, she sighed, too. “Kevin you KNOW that’s not true…” she said, reassuringly. But she was wrong, I DIDN’T know that.
I just shook my head as we continued walking down the street. She stopped walking and looked at me, so I stopped walking too, “You can’t honestly tell me that you think no one knows who you are…” she said, doubtful. I rolled my eyes a little, “No Jenny I didn’t mean that, I just mean… on SOME level, no. I mean I’m in my brothers’ shadow and it’s ridiculous. This band was something ALL of us put effort into and I’m SICK of being ignored! And the one person that I really WANTED to care…just doesn’t! She’s to busy with Joe at the moment” I said almost in a yell, starting to get worked up about all this as I vented to her. We sat down on the bench that was on the nearby sidewalk.
“Kevin---you aren’t in their shadow…” she said, reassuringly, again. But it didn’t help, I almost didn’t even hear her, “it’s just so FRUSTRATING! I mean---have you seen what people say about me? They think I’m nothing because I don’t sing very much! But guitar is just as important and most people don’t realize that! It’s just so annoying to never get appreciation for what I do! There’s millions of Jonas brothers fans, and like THREE of them like me and that’s IT!” I yelled, standing up, upset now. Jenny stood up; too “you KNOW that’s not true. Just as many people love you as your brothers, you KNOW that” she said.
“No! I DON’T know that jenny!” I yelled, storming off. I heard her footsteps as she ran after me.
“Kevin…you can’t get worked up over this! You are JUST as important as your brothers” she said grabbing my arm so I couldn’t storm off again. I sighed, on some level I DID know that---but then there was the other part of me that just feels I’m ignored and my brothers get everything. I just nodded at her and she hugged me, going back to the previous subject... OBVIOUSLLY trying to get off this subject as soon as possible. “So…this person you were talking about. Can you tell me who it is? The one that’s ‘to busy with Joe’ I mean…” she said/asked, curiously. I sighed and whispered the name in her ear. Her eyes widened a little, “Casey?!” she said, quite loudly, in shock. “Shhh, not so loud I don’t think the person in a coma in New Mexico heard you!” I said, looking around to make sure no one really DID hear her.
“Sorry” she whispered quietly, joking around with me a little, but she was still in shock, “Since when?” she asked. I shrugged, “a while now…” She just nodded. “But as I said---way to busy with Joe just like everyone else seems to be…” I said, depressingly. She sighed, “Well what are you going to do?” she asked me. I sighed, depressed about what I was about to say, “Well---I cant believe I’m going to actually say this---but sometimes I think this whole Jonas Brothers band thing really isn’t working out anymore” and with that I stood up and went inside my house, leaving Jenny sitting there, jaw dropped. This time she didn’t follow me.

---Joe’s POV---
I saw Kevin come into the house and slam the door behind him, I looked at Nick---wondering if maybe he knew why Kevin was so upset---but Nick just shrugged. I looked back at Kevin who had flopped onto the other side of the couch, next to me. “You alright, Kevin?” I asked him.
He looked at me and Nick both, “Do I look like I’m alright?” he asked, obviously not answering MY question but repeating it in a way to make it a question for us to answer. “No….that’s why I just asked you that…” I said, slowly, wondering what could have gotten Kevin this upset.
He just sighed, and shook his head. “Come on Kevin, how can we help if you don’t tell us?” Nick asked, chiming into the conversation. I just nodded at Nick then turned back to Kevin, still waiting for a response.
“Do you guys…” he started a question, and sighed. “Do you guys ever regret becoming ‘the Jonas brothers’ , I mean do you ever wish we were just normal people not in the band…?” he asked, now looking at me, then at Nicholas who was sitting in the chair across from the couch, next to the television.
“Um…no…” Nick and I said in unison. Kevin rolled his eyes, “Well of course not, what was I thinking? You guys got everything you wanted from this…” he mumbled, but I still could understand what he was saying.
I laughed, awkwardly “What are you talking about?” I asked, at the same time Nick had a confused expression on his face. Kevin sighed again, “I just…I think this band has lived out everything, so before it dies and brings us down with it…we should end it…” He said. Nick and my jaws both dropped at nearly the same exact time. “w-what?” nick asked, “Kevin…why ALL of a sudden do you want us to break up?” he asked him, I was wondering the same thing, so I just looked back at Kevin, jaw still dropped.
Kevin stood up, “Its not ‘ all of a sudden’ at all! I’ve been thinking about this for a while now…I just don’t think its working anymore” he went up the stairs, leaving me and nick staring at each other, our jaws still dropped. “This is just a phase, right?” Nick asked me, “I mean, he’s going to change his mind…isn’t he?” Nick asked, hoping I knew. I just shrugged, “I wish I knew…”

The next day…

---Casey’s POV---
I had slept over at Katie’s house, so we were eating pancakes at the moment, well TRYING too, but I was so confused that I wouldn’t shut up. She seemed to be getting annoyed, but I really didn’t care. =]
“So wait, let me get this straight… they got the paparazzi on you guys?” I asked, she nodded and took another bite of her pancakes. I shook my head, “Wow… they must REALLY want nick away from you”
She swallowed and laughed a little, “Ya think?” she asked me, jokingly. I laughed, too.
Just then Nick came over to the house and knocked on the door, Katie went to the door and opened it but before she could say anything he started talking, “we need you guys both over there. Kevin wants to end the band.” He said, starting to walk back over to his house. I looked at Katie who was also in shock and we ran after Nick and into the Jonas Brothers’ house. We saw that Kristin, Jenny, Ashley, Anna, Lex, Maria, and even Adri were already there, sitting on the couch. Nick sat in front of the door, which he had closed behind us, and I didn’t know where Joe was. Then, I did. Joe came downstairs with Kevin and stood at the stairs so Kevin couldn’t leave. Kevin rolled his eyes at all of us, “what’s going on?”

---Nick’s POV---
“Kevin…everyone is here to prove to you that this band needs to stay together…” I stated.
He sighed, “Yeah thanks for the 411 nick, I kind of figured that one out.” He said, rolling his eyes again.
“Well you asked…” I mumbled. Katie sat down next me, and I looked at her and smiled, then gave my attention back with Kevin. Jenny sighed, “Kevin we ALL know and love you, and this band---and think about how many millions of people you’d be letting down, think about how many people’s lives could be turned upside down. I know mine would” she said. We all nodded, agreeing with her. Kevin sighed and sat down in an empty chair, obviously willing to at least listen to what we had to say.
And we spent the next 20 minutes going on and on---and on, trying to convince him of the importance of this band. After everyone had left to go back to their individual houses, Joe and I looked at Kevin who seemed to be deep in thought. “Well?” I asked, hoping our little get-together had helped.
Kevin just nodded, “They’re right. I act like I don’t have everything I’ve ever wanted, but I do. I don’t need a million girls falling all over me to make myself happy. I’m sorry, I just have a lot on my mind and I’m taking it all out on you guys” Kevin said. Me and Joe shrugged, “its fine. And by the way” Joe said, “you DO have millions of girls falling all over you” he said, truthfully. We all laughed.

An hour or so later…

---Katie’s POV---
I heard another knock at the door, Casey had already left, but I feared it was her back to talk about the situation even more to me. I went to the front door and opened it, seeing Nick standing there. I grinned, “Hey. How’s Kevin?” I asked. He nodded, “he’s good. The band is still strong” I smiled, relieved, “that’s good” he nodded, agreeing “Um, come in” I said, stepping out of the way so he could come inside. He smiled and came inside and we went into the family room. My mom looked at us, “Hi Nick” she said. He said hi back to her. “Mom…don’t you want to be…somewhere---else…?” I asked, hinting to her. She nodded and left.
