Yet Another Coloring Tutorial
lol, i'm like obsessed with tuts or smth.
i've made 4 tuts, plus this, 5 in the past few weeks.
hmm, this was a question by SuperStarMiley92
i have a question about this coloring..is it only sumtin you can do on photoshop? or can you adjust it for other programs?

well, it is translatable to PSP and GIMP i think.
there's no selective coloring and all that complicated stuff.
only Solid Color Layers, some Duplicating, Hue/Saturation and Brightness/Contrast.
this tut is for super-dull pictures, but it doesn't work on all.
sometimes there may be too much Contrast and it'll look ugly.
remember to follow to tut and adjust when you finish the tut.
cause if you adjust somewhere in the middle, the whole thing might go wrong.
i was really lazy to make a blend for the tut so i just used a pic.
So, open up your programme and here we gooooooo!!!
my base:

Step 1: I'm gonna put 3 steps into one so i don't have to make so many pictures.
So, we are gonna have 3 Solid Color Layers (there WILL be more to come! (:)
a) 002157. Exclusion. 100%.
b) CAEDFA. Color Burn. 100%.
c) FFE7D2. Softlight. 100%.
I know it looks really light but ignore that for a while. if by the end of the tut,
it still looks really light, lower the opacity of the Softlight layer.

Step 2: Duplicate your base and drag it to the top and set at Softlight 100%.

Step 3: Add a Hue/Saturation layer. Master: 0, +11, +18
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m156/lin_siyue/tut5-4.png
Step 4: Another 3 Solid Color Layers. (told you there was more!)
a) FFBAD4. Color Burn. 29%.
b) FFBAD4(again). Softlight. 22%.
c) 47ACC2. Color Burn 22%.
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m156/lin_siyue/tut5-5.png
Step 5. Duplicate your base and drag it to the top. Desaturate it and set at Softlight 52%.
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m156/lin_siyue/tut5-6.png
Step 6: Add a Brightness/Contrast layer. -8, +26.
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m156/lin_siyue/tut5-7.png
Lastly, i added a gradient which was a Black to Red. and i put it so that the Red was at the bottom. then i set that layer to Lighten 100%. Then i added a line pattern, set it at Color Burn 100% and erased it off Miley, leaving it to cover the background.
So we have gone from this to that:
