The Spence School is a private, university-preparatory day school,
where the highest of high class send their daughters. With notable
alumni, such as Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and The
Phantom of the Opera’s latest star, Emmy Rossum; everyone wants
their daughter to attend Spence. Out of its 650 pupils; the halls are
crowded with socialites, debutantes, royalty, children of celebrities,
and the nouveau riche.


And then there’s me; Phillippa Carmichael, known to my friends
as Flip. With my vamp-pale skin and blue streaked hair, my peers
don’t know what to make of me.
So why did I attract the attention of Disney execs?

PART ONE;

Phillippa Carmichael lay on her bed, flat on her stomach;
feeling much like Repunzel. Except she wasn’t in ‘the tallest
tower’, and she didn’t have a long golden mane that could
easily be braided into a single, long rope; so her Prince
Charming could climb up and sweep her off her feet.
Phillippa, or ‘Flip’ as she prefers to be called, was in her
large, imposing bedroom; located in her townhouse of the
Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Flip rolled over and began speaking to the heavens, “Why,
oh WHY can’t my parents do something interesting? Or at
least not live in this show-off place. Rawr I wish I was back
in Cornwall!” And with that being said, she grabbed her
pillow and began screaming into it.

“Phillippa, darling? Is everything alright in there?” Flip’s
mother called out from the other side of the door.

“Yes, mum. I’m fine,” Flip replied, silently rolling her eyes.

“Alright, but please try to keep it down,” Flip’s mother said,
entering her room. “Are you ready for school tomorrow?”

“Muuumm…. I don’t feel well at all,” Flip said, pretending
to be sick.

“Well, you do look a bit green… But I don’t want you to
miss the first day back. Don’t you want to see your friends?”

“I haven’t got any friends. This is my first year of school at
Spence, remember?”

"All the more reason to go back! I think that you should make
a little more effort this year. Do you want me to call Glinda
to do your hair tomorrow?"

"Ugggghhh. I don't need your hairdresser to do my hair for
school, mum. Isn't school meant for learning?" Flip said,
flopping back down on her bed.

Flip's mother patted her foot. "I agree. Buuuttt... Look at what
arrived this morning!" she said, pulling a package from behind
her back.

Flip tore off the tape and opened the box. "Geep! A present
from dad! And its a...."

yea excuse its suckiness

PART TWO;

"Los Angeles," Flip whispered to herself, turning the envelope
she had received from her father over and over in her hands.

It had been a couple of weeks since she had gotten gotten
the "package" from her father, and she still wasn't sure if
accepting his offer would be right for her or not.

"But maybe its just what I need...." Flip thought to herself,
before grabbing a slip of paper from beside her bed.

"Dear Pill," she began reading aloud, rolling her eyes at
the greeting and pacing across the floor. "I don't know if
you can gather this or not, but I am no longer living in Cornwall
with your Aunt Caroline and your Uncle Buggy. In fact,
I've moved into the states, where you and your mother
live. I wanted to be closer to you.

However, without Caroline and Buggy to keep me company,
I've been lonely. Grampa Norris came to help me get
settled in, but its been almost a week and now I'm
all by myself.

So that's why, once you get a break in your studies, I'd
like for you to come visit me in California. Talk to your
mother, and let me know as soon as you can.
