COLORiZATiON

Name: colorization tutorial uno
Difficulty [ 10 being the hardest; 1 being the easiest ]: medium;4
Time used: About 10-15 minutes.
Quick comment: Lexi, I'll start doing the tutorial right after I post this.

First, make your blend, just a simple blend.

Ok, now go to Layer > Colors > Levels and set the middle number from 1.00 to 2.00. [Note: It might look VERY bright, but bare with me, that's a good thing. the brighter the better, but not too bright]

Now, go again to Layers > Colors > Hue-Saturation and put the third one to '60'. leave the rest alone.

Then go on the gimp and click the top box [the one that's blue] and change the code to 003663 then press Alt+L at the same time. a layers box should come up. on the bottom of that, click the first image on the left [the one that looks like a paper] and MAKE SURE IT'S ON FOREGROUND COLOR! Then set it to screen at 40% and duplicate it. [duplicate button = 4th one from the left that has 2 papers]

Redo the same thing, EXECPT with this code: aed9f9 and set it to burn at 100% and duplicate it.

Same thing again. Code: ffe6f6 set to burn 100% and duplicate it 2 TIMES. Sop that means there should be 3 pink boxes.

Now, go to Edit > Copy Visible and then Paste. in the layers box, it will say 'Floating selection' so now click the box thati circled in black [with a not good circle]

Set that to multipy at 40%

Now, go back to the gimp, click the top box, and enter in this code: cfffcd and set it to burn at 100%. now, this next part is important. DUPLICATE IT AND SET THE DUPLICATED LAYER TO DIVIDE. if you leave it at burn, it will turn out very... green.

Now, go to the gimp again, put this code in: ffc66b and put it on overlay [DONT duplicate it]

Put this code in: ffeac9 and set it to multiply at 100%. DONT DUPLICATE!!

Pick your font and some text. by going to Filters > Text > FreeType

Now, you go to Image > Merge Visible Layers or else it would freeze when your saving it.

OK, first open up Gimp. Go to File>New and set it to your width and height.

MAKE SURE ITS A CIRCLE!!
Now, go to your blend [make sure the eraser thing is on] and just erase around the second picture.
Now go to Layer>Ancher Layer or Layer>Merge Down

I just made it on paint with the rounded recatnge tool and then pasted it on my blend and set my eraser to 50% and erased it. if you don't understand, i'll be happy to make a tut.
