I am tired of people putting down scalpers and calling them thieves. These people had the same opportunities as you and I. In most states, scalping is legal. What is wrong with do something legal? The only people I dislike are the people that us machines to cut in line to get better tickets on Ticketmaster.

well i think they are stealers. they do anything they can to get money off of tickets they know that will sell for tons of money. millions of kids and teens don't get to go to this concert because of them

Those people who's machines cut in line are called SCALPERS. They are theives. They have a better chance of getting tickets. I had to enter 4+ contests to win tickets because i can't afford the ticket prices. It's not fair.

I think making some money off of these tickets is acceptable(Like $50 profit?). But when the prices go into the thousands, there's something seriously wrong.

i think as long as they are less than double the price each are ok but if they go over that than that not fair for people who really want to meet her.

Scalpers are no-good theives of little kids dreams... people who just want money. Pure rotten people

I tried buying tickets right at 10 and "None were availble" I got tickets, though like on Thursday... (So I kinda spent 5 hours in my room saying "words" to those scalpers for nothing)

I HATE SCALPERS!
It should be in the law... I can see it now

Law 67: Scalpers are not allowed

What sclapers are doing is something anyone could have done, gotten them from the internet and get the tickets before the people on line could, unfortunatly they are being rediculus(sp.) about it and putting tickets in the thousands which is very wrong, not legaly but ethicly wrong, although it's not technicly stealing.

I think that scalpers are ethically wrong! It doesn't seem fair that these people can cut in front of everyone else, get better seats, and then sell them for a fortune! Sorry, but I believe that scalping is stealing! Coz their trying to make money out of something that they shouldn't have the authority to do so! It just seems so unfair to me! I believe they should outlaw scalping globally!! OUTLAW SCALPING NOW!!!

ok. There is a 4-ticket limit per-person. Scalpers take way more than that and sell them for like $200 more than the retail price and thats illegal

I disagree insomniatic, some of the scalpers are using software intended to beat the security that ticketmaster has set up which by definition would void the contract. They also created scripts that continuously pinged the ticketmaster site preventing legitimate purchaser from getting in. Alot of the venues have public money that was used to build them. I know that one of the senators in my state want speacial rules in place to be certain that citizens are protected.

OMG r u crazy!?!?! they are thieves and they took away 1,000s of kids dreams of seeing hannah montana!! thats what i call a theif. alot of kids parents cant afford to pay 500$ per ticket , which the SCALPERS are pricing them :'(

Alright
*cracks knuckes*

I totally disagree but in a respectable kind of way. They bought the tickets off the internet and try selling them for so much money. That is wrong, legal or not. I don't see your point... why... are you a Scalper? You most likely want Hannah Montana or Fergie or Jonas Brothers or Rhianna or Ciara or ext. tickets so would you rather pay a regular amount or $700+? You may say whatever you want but I won't be able to see the point. Sorry.

i don't like skelpers. they're using a program and cutting in line to REAL fans, people who got up at 10am and sat on their computers refreshing the button just to get tickets, and couldn't. it took me from the day they went on sale to the public till last wenesday to get tickets. i had to get them off ebay, and i spent $250 for 2 tickets in the nose bleed section lmfao.
that is how bad i want to see her, so the concert better be more than worth it.
but, it's not even that. i work for my money, and 90% of her fans are young kids who don't know a thing about money, and their parents can't afford to buy tickets off skelpers. little girl's hearts are being broken and i don't think it's fair what-so-ever.

People should learn how to read before they post.

This is what I said in the original post: "The only people I dislike are the people that us machines to cut in line to get better tickets on Ticketmaster."

Why are you mad at the people who bought the tickets legally and sold them?

First of all, there are not millions of tickets on EBAY. There are lest than 1,000 right now. Second of all, the tickets don't go for $5,000-$10,000. They aroud around $300.

I had no problem buying tickets when they went on sale and I didn't use any special software. So why couldn't you get tickets?

What is wrong is that they're being selfish.
They're buying the tickets and charging people a fotune for them so they can make money.
It is not fair to the fans.
They miss their chance to see Miley because of the scalpers.
My advice to scalpers:
Quit scalping and get a real job to make money.

That is what the whole monetary system is based on. Retailers buy things cheap and sell them at a higher price. Nobody is forcing people to buy the products (this is why stores go out of business).

People buy tickets at a low price and sell them for a high price. Again, that is the same thing what retailers do.

that's different.
because the ticket sites already bought the tickets for a lower price and are selling them fo a higher price.

Anyway, my point is scalpers should get a real job.

Ticketmaster doesn't buy the tickets. They only serve as the middleman between the purchasers and the sellers. So it is the same thing as I explained.

i think it stealing and cheating
to sell tickets worth about $100
to desperat people for $2000
and somethimes evan more
sorry but thats wrong, if they only
sold them for about $50 more at most
it wouldnt be so bad but they dont
they rip you off and its a scam

I totally agree, it's not ethical to sell them for like 150% of the original price or more!! It soo wrong, and totally unfair! Why should these scalpers make money, and deprive younger fans the right to get to go to the concert, who can't necessarily afford to pay $2000 or more for concert tickets!! It's so ridiculous, and totally unfair and unjust!! They are evil scamming people!!

I think they should impose a law against resale of the tickets! Then the scalpers wouldn't be able to resell them without getting caught, and so they wouldn't scalp in the first place! Hit them hard at the source!! If they are not stopped now who knows what kind of effects it could have on future concerts and events!!

I'm sorry but scalping is just wrong!! Plain and simple!! :))

I guess nobody knows the law of supply and demand. When there is a high demand for something, the prices go up.

RidersDX
12-01-2007, 07:54 PM
They shouldn't go THAT HIGH though. It should only be a little more expensive. Not outrageous prices like $3000

Very, very few went for $3,000. Most went for $300-$500.

That's not the point they shouldn't be making a big profit, or any profit at all! The scalping concept, just sound plain wrong to me!! The only people who benefit are the scalpers themselves!!
